| I'd like this job because I've always wanted to be a professor. I believe that I have a lot to offer to HE because I'm an active member who has been a Prefect for four times, so far. Also, I've been here for almost two terms and I feel that I have a good grasp on the rules here and the running of this site. When I do something I can be really devoted to it, and I believe that I would be devoted to being a Professor if I got the job. I believe I can, and have, offered devotion and a unique personality that is me, to HE.
An idea for a class here would be called: Through a Maze. It would involve teamwork between people and it would require its participants to utilize creativity and their knowledge of spells in order to make their way through a maze filled with obstacles, that looks similar to the maze of the Triwizard tournament, with its high hedges. In a way the class would be similar to Raistlin's Daring's Chamber.
After people sign up, they would be randomly sorted into pairs and individual threads would be opened for them where their challenge would take place. They must both post at least once each, in role-play format, before an obstacle is presented (by me). They must show teamwork while overcoming the obstacle and after a certain amount of obstacles, I would post revealing the exit of the maze at which time, the class (for those pairs) would end.
This class would be an ongoing challenge with no time limit, allowing people to join in and sign up later. After a pair's challenge is completed, they would be graded upon their teamwork, creativity, and their knowledge of spells.
Other ideas: ~ Debate: Weather Charms: - Are there limits? As we saw in DH, it's possible to cause rain indoors, but do you think it would be possible to, say, conjure a hurricane? - Should weather charms be used? Is it like messing with nature? ~ Charms in Deathly Hallows: - Hermione used a number of spells to protect the trio and throughout their adventures in the Seventh Book. What do you think those spells, for example Salvia Hexa (sp?), specifically do? - Using your knowledge of J.K.Rowling's use of Latin/Italian/other languages when creating her spells, explain why.

| I want to have the position of a charms professorsince 1) i like making up assignemnts and 2) charms is my most favorite magical 'class' avalible on the site. There are many different and interesting things about charms that can be learned and if I was the professor, I would try to make the class as fun as possible mixed in with a good amount of knowlege. I also some onto the site a lot so I'd update and check the classes and not let them sit for months (like still have the Halloween assignments open in March). I would remeber to grade fairly (no giving all the best marks to Huffies on purpose ...) Also it'll be like a challenge I could do which makes me think (something that most people don't like to do). But overcoming challenges is kind of fun and exciting and if I become a professor, I could consider it as a challenge of opening and grading students' works...which can be fun, I hope!
Assignemnt Example:
Charms In Life
PART1: There are many kind of charms that the characters use throughout the HP series. Like 'accio' for summoning, a cheering charm, flower conjuring charm etc. You are a muggle. If you could choose one charm that you could use in your daily like what would it be? Why? Explain what the charm does (like what it is) at least 200 words
[40points]
PART2:
Write a short story 200+ words on an instance on where you would use this charm and how you will find it. (For example, you find a magical wand that can be used by Muggles and can shoot out this particular charm)
[40points]
[TOTAL: 80points]
Other Assignments: - Patronus Charm (what is it? write a summary of it them write what how do you think the shape of a patronus take place & what shape do you think yours will be?) - Memory Charms (write a summary on what they are and have a paragraph of your opinion of memory charm overdose, esp. on Muggles, is it fair to them?) -DISCUSSION: Is a simple charm even safe to use? (in first book, Ron uses a simple levitation charm to knock out a troll, if that's possible, then are charms even safe to use?)

| I would really love to be a professor. I can't count how many applications I've filled out to be one. I do think I would be a good professor because I am really dedicated to HE and come here everyday. I joined over two years ago and really want to be more involved in the community. Also, I think I would be a good charms professor. I would make sure to have lots of interesting and excieting classes up so that there's always something to do. I've been a prefect 3 times so far and really enjoy being availiable to help people get to know HE.
Assignment Example: Wingardium Leviosa!
In this class we are going to discuss the first practical charms class that Harry had during his first year at Hogwarts. Before we begin the lesson I would like to point out that Professor Flitwick waited two moths before he let them attempt to levitate something.
While, I'm not going to make you wait two months, I would like you to know the theory before we begin the practical.
The wand movement was described as "swish and flick". I woud like you to all practice that for a moment. Good! Now tell me, why is it important to have the proper wand motions when attempting a spell. I would like at least 50 words for this.
We also know from our studies that it is important to prononce the spell with precision and accuracy. Hermione indeed corrects Ron when his pronunciation is unsatisfactory. Please write another 50 word answer explaining how to correctly pronounce Wingardium Leviosa to a young witch or wizard who hasn't attended Charms before.
Finally. Were ready for the real thing. Please RPG your first expeirence levitating something. Did you get it on your first try? Did your feather turn colors or catch fire? Tell me all the details. 150 words please.
BONUS: If you want to videotape yourself, either doing the wand movement correctly or saying the spell with perfect pronunciation or both you will receice extra points.
Additional Assignments: - Alohamora! The Art of Unlocking Doors ~ this class would also have a challenge related to it where students would have to go through a series of rooms unlocking doors and telling me which spells they would need to get through some sort of obstacle in each room. For example: if there is a pile of mud they would say scourgify. - Cheering Charms: How not to go Overboard - Summoning Charms: An in-depth look at their importance - Banishing Charms: When are we going to need those?! - Silencing Charms
EDIT: I just wanted to add that I just realized I am the Prefect Helper for Charms this time.

| I would really really love to be a charms proffessor on HE because although i havent been a member for very long charms is my faverouite subject and i absolutly love to teach (although that is not my proffession I have been told many times that I could be good at it!). I also can and will be fair and just, showing no house prefferences (mostly because i love all the houses). I am on HE mininum once every 2 days and am mostly on every day because i get very anxious if I am sitting there wondering if my posts have been ansered. I have lots of idears (some of them slightly impractical) and would love to put some of them into practice.
Assignment example:
Explain the effects of the following charms and how they are used in the harry potter books:
Avifors Confundus Engorgio Fidelius Homorphus Impedimenta Impervius Obliviate Rictusempra Wingardium Leviosa
As there are many different charms you do not have to find all of them. You will be awarded up to 20 points per charm you find.
Possible points: 200
Other idears:
-Letter of the month At the start of the month a letter would be picked and you would have to name and discribe the effects of a charm starting with that letter (one charm per post no double posting)
-Charms Quiz I will ask a question relating to charms and a stunedt must post the anwser.
-Charms. Good or evil Are all charms good? If no give examples and why you think these charms are labled as charms and not curses.

| Charms Class Application.
Okay so I’m not just applying to these for the sake of applying, I would love the opportunity to become a professor in any of these subjects which is the reason I have applied for them all.
Now when I first joined H.E. I used to love the Charms class but this term it has certainly been dull. Waterlily is no longer active upon the site and I think their was approximately three tasks set throughout the past term. If I was to be made professor of this I feel that I would try very hard to make the subject come alive again as this is one that has truly died. Charms is a subject that was mentioned a lot throughout the books and one I feel that if I was at Hogwarts I would enjoy given the opportunity I would like to make this subject enjoyable to the members of H.E. As said on my previous applications I feel that I would be quite fair when marking the work set and not base my judgement on what house people are in. Of course I love my Ravenclaw’s very dearly but within martial arts we are always taught to judge people on their ability and not if they are your best friend, I feel that I could apply that within marking tasks that I have set. Also I am extremely active upon the site spending two hours after school on the site and countless hours at the weekend. Not to mention I have a school holiday coming up tomorrow and during school holidays I can be seen on the site for practically a whole day. My activeness can be shown through my posts as I am currently a 7th year and 5th top post ^.^. Not only are my post counts high but I do lots of tasks set on the site and I am part of virtually everything such as duelling, debating etc. Also all of the tasks I do have been organised on my computer I have a folder titled ‘H.E. Work’ and inside that I have folders for each of the subjects and events where I can keep track of things. I feel this will help if I am made a professor because I will be able to keep track of what I have marked and what sort of tasks I have set so I don’t have to repeat things. I’m extremely dedicated to the site and it is mostly the only site that I can on when on the internet and I couldn’t live without H.E. I hope that I could add the to H.E. community with becoming a professor and make it a better place for everyone. I feel that I try and help people a lot on the site such as newbies who don’t have a clue what to do and I frequently get pm’s asking for help and I try to reply to them as soon as possible. To sum it all up I feel that I have a lot to offer as a professor and I would like to further my help within H.E. and bring back some life to the subject of charms.
Create a Charm

2) Create a healing charm. Describe what effects it has The right wand movements Is this charm good or bad? 100-300 words (20)
