| I want this job because I feel I am up for the challange, and this happens to be one of my favorite subjects. I know a lot about Art, Creative writing is my passion, and I am pretty sure the drama part, well, I could find some lessons to do for that. I believe I can offer some good, fun classes, and an well updated class. I would try my very hardest to keep the class up and running well, and have some open assignments at all times.
Class Idea : Example Title: If I were in a wizard band, I....
Instructions : Well hello! Today, we will be focusing on the musical side of the wizarding world. I want you to pretend that you are the lead singer or manager of an up and coming wizarding band. What are some of your songs? Where do you play? Who is your target audience? This assignment will be worth up to 60 housepoints, 50 for the asignemnt, and 10 bonus for a graphic. The 50 will be made up based on your descriptions, and how well I feel you let your creativity come out! Okay, here is what you will need: A short paragraph with your name (you may make up one you would use in the wizarding world), your bands name, and any other little tid bits you would like to add. No more that 100 words here please! Next: Write ONE song, about anything, but please try to make it sound like a wizarding song. Name at least three wizard items in it. Examples: A cauldron full of desire, wand shot throught the heart, ect... Third: Write another paragraph about one of your preformances. Tell where it is at, how the audience acts, ect. Try and RP it!
**BONUS** create a graphic representing your band. It could be a poster for a concert, a cd cover, anything like that. Have fun with it!
Other lesson plans: Poetry: Haiku - students will write a paragraph on what a haiku is, and two haikus on topics of their choice. Drama: Famous Actor / actress - write an essay on a famous actor / actress who has also made a positive influence through charity, or somthing like charity orginazitations. (might not do that one... just an idea) Poetry : Freestyle - Write two freestyle poem's; one on a topic of your choice, and another on Art/music/ ect. Discussion: Was t2007 the year being famous was bad? - a lot of people said it was the year all famous people got steryotyped as drugies, ect. But was it bad for all of them?
I might add some more to this... deffinatly not done thinking.

| I haven't been a member for long, but I love this site already and I've been wanting to do some real good. I'm drawn to this type of subject - it's just something that comes natural to me as an individual. I love art - I draw in my spare time whenever I get the chance.(I have a gallery on the site) I'm fairly good at coming up with stories, most of which have been gathering dust in a rather thick binder. I'm just too scared to put them out there. As for Drama - well I love being on stage and acting. I like being center stager. Most likely my personality type, I guess. I understand this is a big responsiblity to hold and I'm willing to carry it on my shoulders. I will try to be up to date with my classes and make it a fun and informative class with hands on expierence as well.
Blind Sight assignment:
This was a recent assignment of mine at school a few weeks ago, so I thought it'd be neat to try it out with you all.
First of all, I want you to take a break from the computer. [Yes.. its hard for us all. lol ] Thiss will be a sort of hands on first hand expierence.
You will need to have a blindfold of some sort or simply close your eyes.
Find a favorite place where you feel comfortable in or a safe enviornment you know you'll be safe to walk around without bumping into anything hazardous. (Can't have you running into walls! lol) Take as long as you like and depend on your other senses. Then when you're finished take a moment to reflect.
Afterwards, I want you to write a paragraph on your expierence on not being able to have the sense of vision. Tell me what went on around you while you were unable to see.
How was it? (Uncomfortable? frightening? Please explain) Do you think you'd be able to live like that? (explain why) how do you think blind individuals find their way around in life? (sources) and how would you enhance their way of living by using magic? (a made up spell, potion... etc )
Paragraph has to be at least 200 words
I have alot of ideas buzzing around in my head (some based off from the classes that I take myself.) I'll just list two.
1. Letter to a Grandchild - Students will write a letter to a grandchild to be opened on the grandchild's 16th birthday. It will need a description of themselves, their goals, the "world" they live in (muggle or magical) , and advice for the future.
2. Tens - students choose one number (from 1 to 10). The one number they choose are from each topic (character, setting, time and situation) They write a story with the character, setting, time period, and situation that they've chosen. | |

| Application I would like to be a professor for the Arts, Drama and Creative Writing class because I believe that I could handle the responsibility and jobs that come with it. Personally, I enjoy creative writing and arts, and have knowledge of drama – since I have studied it before. In addition to the fact that I have opened one class (POETRY - Clerihew) in the subject before as a Prefect. I always try my best to follow the rules of the site, like not spamming or calling other people names etc. I go on Hogwarts Experience website quite frequently so believe I could update classes/assignments by scoring finished assignments fairly and opening new ones with assignments both fun and filled with facts. Here’s an example of an assignment: Tales from Shakespeare For this class, there are 2 parts to the assignment. -Part 1: Who? Who is Shakespeare? Write a summary of 150 or more words on him. Remember to include the basics of when he lived, what are he most known for and some basic history of him. Also explain how he is still ‘living’ in the modern world today. 40 points -Part 2: What? 1. List at least 7 of his plays that he had written 2. Pick 2 of the plays you have listed in Part 2, Question 1 and write a summary on what the main story plot is with 100 words minimum. (2 paragraphs, one for each play) 40 points Extra: For More Points! (Any graphics should be standard signature size or smaller) Option 1: There are some famous quotes from the many plays of Shakespeare. Make a graphic illustrating the quote. Remember to put the quote on it and which play it was from. Option 2: Make a graphic about any of the Shakespeare plays. Remember to put the name of the play somewhere on the graphic. Note: You could only choose one of the options. You could do both (if you want) but I will only count one of them – probably the best one. 20 points----- Total Points: 80 Total Points with Bonus: 100 Good Luck. If there are any questions you could PM me. Other Lesson Plans/Assignments: - Tall Tale: write an event that has happened to you, someone you know, or something on the news. Write another paragraph (of the same event) but write it in a form so that it can be called a Tall Tale. Students would have to research a bit and answer 3 or 4 questions on what exactly is a tall tale. -2 Minutes Spill: Take at least 2 minutes and write as much words as you can about the word 'Secret' or 'Lock' (choose one) after the two minutes, use at least 10 words you have written at write a poem or story about anything, but remember to include the ten words! (also, depending on an up coming holiday or season, I could think of an assignment that is related to it) | |

| ((What happened to this job going to Elly? That lasted long! xD)) Reason for Application Well, I’m already a mod so you wouldn’t have to upgrade anyone else. I think I remember Sharon saying that there were enough mods for the time being. And also, being a mod, you know that I’m already reliable and responsible – at least I hope so! xD Plus, you wouldn’t have to reveal the secrets of the Professors’ Lounge to anyone else – I already know them! xD And that’s just minor details, there’s more. Ok, I know I was a little bit of a let-down on my first professor-ship. Well, not too much of a let-down. I lasted quite a long time and while I was professor I kept up to date with all my responsibilities. The truth is, that subject didn’t do that much for me, but there’s lots of scope for class ideas in Arts, Drama and Creative Writing. And if I’m really stuck for inspiration I can just set a writing class! xD So, yeah, I’ll always have different classes open. But anyway, back to the point – my previous job as professor. I made some silly mistakes with that job, and I can use what I’ve learnt from those in this job. Like never to set essays cuz, people don't do them! So basically, what I’m saying is that I’ll be a much better professor this time round than last time – if you choose me that is. Oh, and I have pretty much no life so you might have noticed I spend a LOT of time here, sometimes I sit there and stare aimlessly at the screen. xD I can cut down that aimless staring when I’m setting and marking classes. Regularly. *nods* You can rely on me for that. AND I’m fair-headed. I have friends in like…all the houses. And I love everyone! You know I do! Even the lovely newbies, who are my fave people in the world! xD I swear that if I get the job I will mark fairly – even Rai! :D Plus, I do follow rules. Mod-ship remember! *points up* Geez, this is getting long. And I’m not done yet! I do have an interest in this class – it probably doesn’t seem like it cuz I never do site homework – but I do. And I have an interest in a bunch of the different aspects of the class. Like…poetry. I used to write poetry, and some of it was actually not bad. I hate to admit it, but it’s true! xD And also writing! I joint-won the 2007 award for Best Writer. :D Ok, what else? I think that this job requires someone who is creative. While online I may not seem that creative (Thanks Rai! :D) in real life, I actually am, kinda. And I’m at least creative enough to think up good classes! xD Right, I’m thinking that this is probably getting long enough. The fact that it's getting so long shows that I'm good at thinking up ideas. I AM kinda creative! xD But anyway, if you really wanna hear ANY more reasons, you can PM me. EDIT: Lol! I just thought of another good reason I should get the job! A for Arts, A for Aliza! Coincidence? I think not!! xD Class Example Creative Writing Class: Could you do better than Jo?(Just to clarify - the word counts might change, I'm not too sure on that yet. :D) This class is designed to see if you could be a better writer than J. K. Rowling. There are three different tasks to test this. Also, you must make sure that you have good spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPAG) and also a good quality of written communication (QWC). You may get marks deducted if you do not. OpeningsThe opening of a story is possibly one of the most important sections. It helps to set the scene and draw the reader in to the book. J. K. Rowling has a pretty conventional opening to her stories and she tends to use the same one in each book. For your first task I want you to think of an alternate opening to one of the Harry Potter books. It must be at least 250 words. (Possible points: 35) EndingsSome people were not so happy with the ending of the 7th book and I’m sure we all envisaged a different one – whether it was dramatically different or only slightly. Do you think that there was a better way to end the book? For this you don’t have to do any actual writing, just a point by point summary of what you think should have happened. (Possible points: 20) Different ViewpointsNow, I’d like you to put yourself in to Jo’s footsteps for a moment. You’ve closed the book on the Harry Potter series and you know that a lot of fans out there were devastated. So you have a surprise up your sleeve. You’re going to release a short continuation of the series for charity, but it has to be from another characters point of view. (Not Harry’s!) Pick a MINOR event from the series and write it from your character’s point of view. And by a minor event I mean, not something like the last battle. :D You have to write at least 250 words. (Possible Points: 40) The best entry will receive an extra 5 points! Future Classes - DRAMA: Is Shakespeare overated? (Discussion Class) - LITERACY: Book Review (Students would have to choose a book they have read – not Harry Potter or any of the Twilight Series – and analyse it using prompts.) -ARTIST STUDY: Monet (A look in to Monet and his painting style, Impressionism) - Artist of the Fortnight (I’d carry this on, it’s obviously not a new idea, but I do have ideas and stuff that I could use for this.) - ART: Different Painting Styles (See below. xD) Oh, there's another idea too! I would have used it for my class example if I'd thought of it earlier! Basically, I'd get them to do a bit of brief research on a painting-style and then write a tiny bit about it. Then, using a picture I give them, they'd have to interpret it using their chosen painting style. (On a graphics program, or irl.) Oh, and by painting style, I mean like...impressionism or cubism. :D

| I’d also love to apply to be a teacher of arts – first of all, because I love arts and second of all .. because I’m a drawing-freak xD .. and then, I also consider myself a pretty creative person and I’d love to share this joy with everybody else! It would be a great opportunity for me to get involved and give something back to this site, since I’ve already been an active member for a year now and it’s been an awesome experience. I therefore think helping to enhance other people’s experience and try to make it just as enjoyable as mine was – and still is - is a worthwhile thing to do. I know I’m currently not soooo overly active, which is due to my exam-preparation. ^^”. Well, the good news is that I’m going to finish my exams around the first half of February so I will be able to be online much more often afterwards, in the new term. That is when I’m also going to be able to create and mark classes and I promise to keep up with it at a good pace. Oh and by the way – I’m not going to accord any extra-favors to anybody, since it would just be unfair, spoil the fun for everybody and be totally pointless anyway. -.-“ .. although … if I see a red Porsche parked in front of my house with a note, “For Cris, the most awesome arts teacher, with love from *insert HE user name here*” … I might reconsider my point. XD … kidding! xD (you wouldn’t get me a Porsche anyway.. would you? XD .. it would be a waste of money, because I would just .. drive it into the first fence I see. XD) The basic structure of my classes will involve a lot of creativity and sometimes, some research, but not too much as I think arts classes should rather focus on the practical part. I’ll show you what I mean in my example class…. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CREATIVE WRITING: Autobiographical novels In this class, we will concentrate on writing the beginning of an autobiographical novel – and you’ll have to be careful not to confuse it with an autobiography. I suppose you’ve all read novels that have some inspiration from the author’s life but aren’t its exact retelling, right? Well, that’s what we’ll do today.. but – hold your hippogriffs! – we’re not starting as yet. Read on… Part 1 – “the warm up” – to get you into the “mood” of autobiographical novels, you’ll have to remember one autobiographical novel you’ve read and tell us about it in 150 or more words. Remember to stress out the most important parallels you can find between this book and the author’s life. (yup, this involves a bit of biography-research ) Points: 20 Part 2 – Take notes. What’s the main plot of your novel going to be, who are your characters? Write your main ideas in short, you can for example just list them as bullet points, as the post important aspect here is to show that you have a good basic plotline – you don’t even have to make it complicated or long. Points: 20 Part 3 – Writing! The most fun part, as I think you shall agree! The task is simple: write out a paragraph of at least 500 words of your novel, from whatever part you wish. Points: 60 And – voilà! – that’s all you have to do! Now, get to work and don’t forget to have lots of fun at it! – and keep in mind the correct use of English language and grammar, ok? (well, if you don’t and it’s grave it might cost you points xD) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don’t lack ideas (couldn’t sleep one night because they kept coming to me, grrr! XD) … so here are some other class suggestions that I might use at some point if I became an arts professor: - Creative Writing: The poetry around us – something like a small challenge to create short poems about all sorts of objects that we meet in our day-to-day lives but that don’t necessarily jump into our eyes and souls as… poetic, or the likes. I have the idea from a German lesson last year, where the teacher put a water bottle onto the table and asked us to describe it in poetic terms … and the results were quite amazing! xD - Art & Creative Writing: Cave Art – a class that includes the history of cave art, writing a paragraph from Neanderthal- perspective and drawing cave art. - Art: Ideal room – using the technique of perspective, students will be asked to draw their ideal room, with muggle or wizard decorations and everything their heart desires. Might be fitted to include also some explaining around it. - Music: Favorite song - a class in which students will basically chose a song they like and analyse aspects such as the text or its link to the melody. Thank you very much for you attention! *bows* | |

Why do I think I will be good for the job. The reason that I want the job for Art, drama and creative writing class is that I have always found this subject quite intriguing, it requires a certain skill and I would love to read through work from people like Etta who seriously have a skill when it comes to creative writing. Not only that but I would also adore the privilege of being a mod. Though who wouldn’t? ^.^ I think that I could offer a lot to H.E. and the fact that I am a 7th year shows how loyal and dedicated to the site I am, meaning that if I set something I wouldn’t just disappear without a word. I also know the site like the back of my hand the way that it all works. I stay up to date and know pretty much everyone on here. I also think that although I am a Ravenclaw that I will try and be fair and not judge upon what house people are from. This may be shown from other events where I have worked with people from other houses and also being the leader of a family fortunes team, which shows that I could work with people under me and have them organised. Even though we did not win I feel my team tried and really that is all that matters. This subject will be particularly good for me as I can draw personal experience. At school I have taken a GCSE titled ‘Expressive Arts’ which consists of Art, drama, dance and creative writing. So with that I can use my knowledge from the GCSE to help within the subject area. Another thing is that many of the mods have more than one teaching posts and even if I don’t get the position I feel that maybe other people should get more chances as professors as now some of the mods are not very active upon the site. waterlily etc. I also know that moving up to a mod would be taking on a lot of other responsibilities and helping many of the newbies which I have done quite often throughout my stay here. It would also mean organising things though I feel that sometimes I can be quite organised. On the down side I have my GCSE’s next year and a few that I am taking a year early and during that time I may not be able to get on as much but as you have seen now even though I have GCSE’s I have still managed to spend a great deal amount of time on here. I visit HE every day even if I only have 10 minutes and post in the Ravenclaw common room. With that I feel it would be easy for me to check my pm’s to see if anyone has any problems and keep up to date with others. Being a mod I would also draw my experience from being a prefect with setting up different lessons being a prefect helper and also helping newbies, as during my periods as prefect I would get approximately 5 pm’s a week from a newbie asking questions. With all of them I tried my hardest to answer to the best of my ability drawing my knowledge from the site and what other people have helped me with. Gosh that was long ^.^ but anyway to sub it up I think I would be a great help to the mod team as I am hardworking and extremely active. I am also taking a GCSE in this subject which gives me an advantage from other people.
Homework example
The clearing
For this exercise you will need to use your imagination and creative writing skills.
I want you to imagine that you have gone on a walk through the forest with your blind friend, you have come to a clearing, describe it. You can out on the stage and your teachers tell you to entertain them for 10 minutes. What do you do?
