At 5:30am GMT, Lilyflower, the former head of house of Ravenclaw sent a message to a few staff members with the devastating news that Holly, Ravenclaw's very own Brunette, had passed away. Below is the message itself.

Hi girls,

I know it's been a while since you've heard from me but there's something I think you should know. I'm not sure how many of you remember Holly - she was a Ravenclaw and went by Brunette on the site. I don't know how many of you knew but for the past year she fought cancer. There was a tumor in her brain, she went for surgery four times I believe and after every single surgery it always came back. I spoke to her brother earlier and I'm sorry to tell you all that Holly has passed away. She passed away on the 14th of March - he was finally able to tell me about it today. I know a lot of people on HE was close with her so I thought you should know. I've honestly never had to write one of these before and I'm never good at delivering this kind of information so it's probably best that I leave it at that.

Oh my God... Holly... I had a sinking feeling in my stomach the instant I saw the title of this thread. Holly... *gives her virtual tacklehugglespounces and *%#& to anyone who says I can't* I wasn't very close to her at all on HE, but of course I remember her. I'm so sorry for her friends and family and... I just with I could do something. It's not fair, it's so not fair; she was [I hate that! I HATE 'was'!] so wonderfuly and I remember her being so full of life...

Like June, my stomach sank when I saw this thread. I had a feeling I knew what was coming. I wasn't close to her, but I talked to her and she was a wonderful person. God, this is so hard. I feel so bad for her family and the people who were close to her.

*Blinks* o gosh I don't really know what to say. I mean I wasen't very close to her but she was in Ravenclaw and I did speak to her quite a few times.

She is going to be very missed. Luckily I had a chance to talk to her on the third of this month. She was an awesome friend to everyone and always had so much enthusiasm. She always told me I love you a million M&M's. I still can't believe it, she was my HE sister and a close friend.

On MSN last night, Holly and Harry's MSN names had this news in it, but I talked to Ginny and learned that their accounts had been hacked, so we thought it was some sort of sick joke. Seeing this thread and finding out that it's actually happened knocked the wind out of me - seriously, it's taken so long to even write this far because my hands are shaking so much. I got to know Holly through her being on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, and can't imagine that this wonderful, always optimistic and hopping around girl is gone. When I got my permit about a month ago, I messaged her to tell her, and she promised me that we'd go driving once I got my license. Now, I know that that'd never happen, but the fact that she wanted to made me feel good. There are so many little things like this that I remember from our talks, and I can't believe that there's not going to be any more. This is the first friend I've ever lost, but I know I'll always remember the good times that I got to spend with her.

Holly, this caring girl that no one couldn't love, you're going to be missed very very much. My heart reaches out to her family, who has had way too many bad things happen to them, and to all that knew her here. We're not going to forget her - how could we?

I never got the chance to be measured in love my M&M's but I wish I was able to be on more to talk to her more. I loved her, I still love her. She was my friend. She always took my head. I wish I would have given her my heart. I never got the chance to tell her I loved her. I am close to tears as I write this. I am just thinking of all the fun times I had with Holly and the closeness I wish I had obtained. I know I wasn't one of the people she talked to a lot and I hope that she loved me too.

I will always remember her and I will always have a spot in my heart that is taken by her memory. Now all I can do is Live on but never Forget.

Holly was such a great and wonderful person, so vibrant and full of life. That's probably why when I saw the messages and was told by Emma, I immediately said "Is this a...joke?" and tried convincing her and myself that it wasn't true. I knew that her (Holly's) account had been hacked by some jerk (having gotten to personally talk to him...ugh), and thought someone was having a cruel bit of fun. There was no way she could be gone. The moment I found out, I could hardly move, breathe, anything. I sI had been so dismissive of the story when I first heard, to have it become true almost knocked the wind out of me.

I'm going to miss her so much, she always called me "Ginaroooooo!" whenever I came into chat, or CB, or whevever, and I'm really going to miss getting to see that everytimg she was online. I remember one of the last few times I talked to her was Christmas, and she made me laugh so much. You see, Harry was annoying her and she had to make dinner soon or something. So we started talking in CB and I gave Harry the hard time he deserved for bugging her :D Hehe

She was just the kind of person who could make anyone smile, laugh, or pretty much get to act silly and immature in an amazing way. I'm going to miss her so much, and my heart goes out to the family.

That is so sad. I remember her a little, i think I saw her name around the site. I never actually talked to her or anything and I feel so sorry for those who were close to her. R.I.P. Holly. And remember Death is but the next great adventure...I am sure she is having a great adventure.

wow. that is so sad. i didn't even know her. i think i may have said one thing to her. cancer is the worst thing. it has taken many of my family members and a few friends so i know how her family must feel. i recently had a grandmother die and felt anger towards god, for taking her, you know? but you can't do that. you have to just let go. if she knew god as her savior, we don't have any problems. she'll be up in heaven rejoicing that it's over. that's what we need to do, rejoice. all her troubles are gone, she's great now. it's hard to face that truth, but you gotta.

i am sorry to everyone who knew her (*Huggles her BFs*). and even to those who didn't. it's a tragedy. may god be with you in this time of trouble. RIP holly.

Elana, I thought it was a sick joke too. Then I saw it in the Community thread, and I didn't know what to say. I've always liked Holly (even when she tried to suggest that she was having a relationship with Johnny Depp), and she was all-around nice and terribly funny.

I'll never forget her, and I know I'll never get to speak to anyone as amazing as Holly was... sad

I'm in complete shock. Holly was such a strong and beautiful person. The kind of person everyone wants to be best friends with - always outgoing, friendly, intelligent, brave and clever. And this was all while she was ill. I was always in awe of her strength and positive attitude. I never doubted for one second that she would pull through her illness, because it always seemed like she just . . . would. She was determined to get through it and get better. When I heard (I just freaking heard *cries*), I just knew she couldn't have died from cancer. Her death had to have been an accident. Should have been impossible.

But it wasn't, it wasn't, and I've crumpled inside, knowing that such a wonderful person is gone. Holly, I'll never forget you. I miss you, sweetheart, and wish I had gotten to know you better.

I have talked to Holly a few times on the site but i never did get to know her well. It is so sad to hear about her death. *cries*. I know that she is going to be missed by many, even though I have talked to her a little I saw how wonderful a person she was.

i love you so much dear. you are too beautiful, too kind, too genuine to ever deserve what you had to bear, but you did so in the best of ways, and with an extra kind word for us. you were like a sister to me, and i only wish i had been online more often so we could have talked more. you helped me through a hard time, we had intense talks,a nd crazy talks, and i love you and miss you with all of my heart. i know you are in a good place right now, because someone as sweet as you deserves nothing less. i love you i love you i love you.

i just want to let you know holly, that i got your note the night before my closing performance of Our Town, and i cried all night. and i performed for you on my closing night. i thought of you every second. i know you saw, and i hope you liked the play. i love you dearly. i have the note on me always. i'll always remember you and love you dear.

I can't believe this. I was in complete shock when I read it, at first I didn't even know who they were talking about because this Holly never crossed my mind. She was one of the first people to talk to me on this site, she helped me & gave me some advice. She even adopted me on the Ravenclaw House Holly aka Brunette 436937

We even joked because we both had the same avatar, we weren't best friends but she was great. I don't believe how bad things can happen to all good people but everything God does has a purpose and I'm sure it was better for her. If she was suffering & dealing with pain it was for the better. If her family & friends ever read this I want you all to know that she will be remembered in everyone's hearts as someone especial. RIP Holly, you deserve it:)

I used to come on this site all the time, a had a different account.
I spoke to Holly a few times, she was one of the few who talked to me and I got into conversations with. I've been gone a while, so I made a new account and tried to find a few of the others who were kind to me.
And then I found this....

Holly, thank you for noticed one lonely shy girl who didn't want to talk to anyone.
