Hogwarts Experience Badge

Hello! Welcome to the Hogwarts Experience! I am so sure you will love it here. First, there are a few things we need to get out of the way. If you could step into the entrance hall with me, we can continue this tour. In here, you will find all the rules. I expect you shall hold them, too. That makes a lot less work for our prefects and heads of house and school. There, you will see we have a signature guideline. Try and stay in it, or Kreacher will steal your signature! They also have a new rule, asking you not to link to other sites in your signature. At the top of the page are the rules. Yes, those are very important too! The Hogwarts Experience is a site with a 12+ rating, so everything must fit that. Then there are the normal ones, be polite to every member, don’t give out your surname or any personal information, and no double accounts. Also, as The Hogwarts Experience is an international site, they ask that no text speak is used in posts.
Other than the rules, there is plenty of fun stuff to do at HE! First, you will need to be sorted into a house. Do that by posting in the sorting thread in the sorting hat. Soon, you will have a house! Your houses forum will become visible to you soon after that. Go in there and post a bit, let you other housemates get to know you. You can also look to see if there are any spots open on your house Quidditch team, or look to see if you can get a dorm. Once you have introduced yourself, why don’t you head on over to classes. Yes, there are classes. It is a school, after all! See, your house will be like your family, and you should earn house points for them, like your really at Hogwarts! At the end of the term, the house with the most house points gets the house cup! There are many opportunities for points, in classes and challenges and events. So why not do some of them! HE offers a wide array of classes, such as Ancient Runes, Art, Drama and Creative Writing, Astronomy, Care of Magical Creatures, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Divination and Arithmancy, Flying Lessons, Herbology, History of Magic, Muggle Studies, Mythology, Potions, Supernatural and Paranormal Studies, and Transfiguration. Each of these classes has their own sub forum open, where classes have been opened inside of that. Simply open the thread of classes that interest you and do what is says. Then, post your answers there, and watch your house points soar! You can always check your progress in the house point’s forum under your house. All you have to do is click on your house, and look for your name.
Okay, so we have classes explained, but what about years? You see people with fifth year, third year, seventh year, and you are only a first year!?! Well, years go by how many posts you have. To get to second year, you must make 100 posts. The number goes up with each year you wish to reach. Once you reach second year, you have another opportunity for house points: exams. Wand exams are open to second years and above, next be apparition for third years, then animagus for fourth and up. OWL exams are open to fifth years and above, and opening soon is Occlumency and Legilimency. Those hold even more house points.
Now, HE isn’t all about the classes. We have fun things too! In the great hall, you can create a character to RP with, the event forum is always bursting with fun events to do, and there is always the badge burrow, debate classroom, and dueling tournaments. We also have places through out the site to discuss other things such as music, movies, books, news, theater, video games, and celebrities. Another cool thing is the Hogwarts Quill, HE’s very own fanfic archive! Then there is the Graphics forum, where you can open a thread to show your graphics, learn tricks, do a tutorial, or request something from the many great artists we have here. The Artist Alley is where you can show all your drawings, and Photography corner is for, what else, photography! In all of those places, you can often find challenges to do to earn more house points.
The last couple places are the Hogwarts community, where you can meet new people in the General house common room, take quizzes and polls, share your photos if you feel comfortable doing so, and just talk about random things in your life. Another cool place is the Hogwarts walks, where you can talk about ships in not only Harry Potter, but other fandoms. In games galore, you can play many cool games, such as count to 1000, would your rather, duck, duck, goose, and Hogwarts survivor! There are always the book and film discussions forums for all your HP madness! And finally, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang Exchange is where you can learn a new language, or chat in other languages!
I know you will love it here at HE, and I hope you didn’t fall asleep during that short introduction! We have the greatest staff here, Elfie, Amy, and Rai, and many great members who are always here to help and welcome newbie’s like yourself! The Hogwarts Experience began as a purely Harry Potter site
and now nearly three years later has extended to everything you want in a site,

Of course every reputable site needs a few rules and
regulations to keep everyone safe and happy. Some of the important ones are
below;

1) HE
is a 12+ site which means that no member under this age should or can sign up.
This also means that content posted by staff and members alike should keep to
this rating whether you are 12 or 112.

2) Respect
to all members and staff should be taken seriously.

3) The
use of text and sms speak is asked not to be used because it is plain annoying!
If you need help with a language, visit HE’s language forum!!

4) Respect
signature and avatar guidelines otherwise Kreacher may eat your images

5) Keep
all personal information…well personal…

6) Only
have ONE account. Do not pretend to be someone you are not.

It is difficult to cover the amount of different things that
happen on the site as it is so big and offers so much, but here are a few to

Hi there fellow witch and wizard. Are you lost inside this castle? Let me be your helping hand.

Before anything else, make sure you have been able to visit the Entrance Hall. There, you’ll find the important Rules And Regulations which are important so that you will not be kicked out of the school. If there are still things which make you confuse, why not visit the FAQs section. Maybe there were other wizards who had the same questions you had. If you have other concerns, feel free to send an owl to our dearest Headmaster, Raistlin The Wizard.

Once you have decided that this school seems enjoyable, have a sit in front of the Great Hall and put the Sorting Hat in your head (maybe giving some hint to which house you want to be in might help just like Harry did). When the sorting is done, the house tower of your house which you belong will appear at your home page.

Want to help your house earn house points and win the house cup at the end of the year? Take some Hogwarts Subject like a real student. Do as much assignment as you can and earn points for your house. In case that you have not seen any assignment which makes you interested, go to Challenge Chamber. You’ll also gain some house points doing those challenges which pops like mushrooms.

In every term, there are events being held in the school. It is the coolest way to earn points for they are only there for a limited period of time unlike those assignments and other stuff earning points around the castle. (Visit Event Forum)

And if you are something like a collector, Badge Burrow will be great for you. Remember that every badge level requires the badge of the previous level. It is like collecting and treasure hunting. Collecting badges sometimes involved researches (don’t worry, you are not restricted from using Google), flash games, creativity and more. You won’t be left behind whatever your interest is. There will always be a badge for you.

There are other rooms around the castle such as The Great Hall where RPG takes place. This one would not make you any points but it will gain you friends.

For you other creative skill you want to share with your fellow witch and wizard, there are topics intend for you.
The Hogwarts Quill: Share your fiction stories with other witch and wizards. You might be the next JK Rowling.
Graphics Forum: Do you have some photo editing skill? Or you wanted to start editing one? You are free to post a gallery of your graphics in this section and share them with us. Please be generous as well in giving tutorials.
Artist Alley: Are you a painter? Comic writer? Scan your work and share it with other witch and wizards.
Photography Corner: Grab your camera and take some picture. Take us to your world like it is real for us as well.

Hogwarts Experience is so big. 24-hours are not enough for you to see everything in stored for its potential students like you.
