"Urg." Shadow said, resurfacing from Natalie's mind and rubbing her temples. She moved to Holly's head and repeated the process.

Hayley sighed. "Thank God you're okay Nat, but Holly...I don't know what's wrong...." her eyes were welling up.

"HOLLY...HOLLY...PLEASE WAKE UP!" said Natalie loudly, "I have slushies." Natalie was getting desperate.

Riley blinked several times before swallowing and hurrying to Holly's side.
"Holly?" he asked uncertainly, "Holls you gotta wake up kiddo.....you....you have to,"
George whimpered and sat on Holly's stomach, rocking back and forward, rather frightened.
Riley drew his wand out and tried a few spells, but nothing worked.

Natalie drew her wand and pointed it at Holly's chest.

"Enervate," she said quietly.

"We tried that remember?" George said softly, and Riley bit his lip so hard a little blood was drawn.


((I dunno how holly's gonna wake up haha))

"Holly," said Natalie, seriously, "if you don't wake up, Riley and you can never get married."

Riley's eyes widened and he quickly glanced at Natalie.
"What are you saying?" he asked, "That I love her? Cause girl whoever you have been talking to deserves-"
"SHES WAKING UP!"
Sure enough, Holly was moaning.

"See...knew it would work," said Natalie, putting the huge blanket round Holly, Riley, Shadow and herself.

"Here...this'll keep us all warm," said Natalie, grinning, "you ok Hol's?"

Shadow wriggled out to allow the others more room and sat cross-legged a few meters away, staring into the fire. She started to sing an old song that her mother had taught her in the language of her dimension, lost in her thoughts.

Natalie glanced at Shadow and smile.

"That's such a beautiful song," said Natalie, smiling.

Shadow jumped.
"Sorry... Arella used to sing that to me, in almost the same circomstances." She said softly, not making eye contact with Natalie.

"Are you ok Shad?" Natalie asked anxiously.

Shadow shrugged, avoiding the question.

Natalie looked away, thinking it was best not to ask.

Shadow stared at the fire, but didn't seem to see it.

"Shadow," said Natalie even more anxiously, "tell me whats wrong."

"There is nothing wrong." Shadow said, standing up. She took her cloak, clipping it around her shoulders and striding out of the cave.

Natalie followed.

"Wait Shadow...wait!" she yelled, running to catch up.

"Leave her," Holly said softly, glad to be alive, "What happened anyway?"

"There's something wrong and she won't tell me what...and she's obviously upset about it," said Natalie anxiously.

"Nothing. Well, you nearly died...." Hayley said, answering Holly's question. "The ice cracked, you and Nat fell in, Shadow saved you, as she usually does, and then Riley came, and I came.....the rest is history..." she said.

Shadow stood on the edge of an ice cliff, staring out over the waters, feeling the cold sea air flow through her hair.

Eliza snapped out of it, and saw that here friends wee all freezing.
"Do you guys need a hand?"

Hayley glanced out of the cave, concerned about Shadow. "I hope she's okay...." she murmured under her breath.

"What excatly happened?" Eliza asked, and Pago rolled his eyes. She could be such a dreamer.

"I was just finding that out myself," Holly said smiling, and then grimaced as the cut on the back of her head throbbed annoyingly. Riley bit his lip.
"Sure you're alright?" he asked again.
"Fine" Holly said honestly, and gave him her special smile.

Natalie grinned.

"Glad you're ok," she said, grinning.

Hayley nodded. "As am I," she said. "Now, about your head....we need that sorted out," she said sternly.

"Shadow can do it...providing she comes back," said Natalie.

Shadow stared at the raging water below her crashing into the cliffs. She morphed into a wolf and dived in.

Eliza heard the splash.
"Ok, I could use a dip." Eliza dove in after her, and bobbed to the surface.
"Shadow?" She called.

Shadow swam down to the bottom, quite a few aquatic creatures disgruntled by her presence. She looked around, having heard some one dive in. She firmly blocked her mind against all intrusion and detection before swimming into the shadows of the ice shelf.

"What do you reckon Shad's doing?" Holly asked, "I hope shes alright......,"

Shadow closed her eyes and let out the breath she was holding, allowing the water to fill her lungs, gripping the ice with her claws so that she didn't float back to the surface.

Holly glanced outside, not aware of what was happening. She felt a prickling sensation on the back of her neck. Something was wrong.
She stood up quickly and Riley jumped back.
"Holly- what?"
"Shadow," Holly murmured, and made her way out into the freezing cold.

Shadow felt her vision beginning to fail and her mind slipping in and out of consciousness.

Holly let the wind sweep her hair around her face, her eyes darting around looking for Shadow.
"Shad?" she called. She tried again, desperately, Holly glanced down into the lake.
Her heart thudded and fell through the floor.
There was a wolf at the bottom of the lake. And she was strangely familiar.
Holly's initial thought was to get Raven, but even Raven might not survive is she went down there. The only person able to stand it was someone who had been in there for a long time previously.....
Holly took a deep breath, panicked, thought about all the people she hadnt properly said goodbye to, and jumped.

Shadow distantly heard some one else jumping into the water. She couldn't focus, so didn't pay any attention.

Holly choked in the water, but disregarded this completely and began to swim toward the wolf, wand out.

Shadow's eyes rolled to the back of her head as she finally blacked out, her claws no longer gritting the ice as she started to float to the surface.

Holly choked again, and helped in the levitation of Shadow to the surface, praying harder than she ever had. And she never had.
Her head broke the surface and Holly gasped for breath, looking around for Shadow.

Shadow's head broke the surface of the water, but she didn't breath in, she didn't come round.

Holly panted and used her one arm which didnt feel like it was dead, to pull Shadow to the shore.
Once there she fell onto her hands and knees and coughed for a whole minute, feeling she had just swallowed the entire sea.
Then she looked toward the wolf, afraid of what she was about to see.
She swore quietly and ambled over, wand at the ready.
She tried all the obvious spells, and then "Eneverate,"

Shadow didn't stir, her thick coat drying into icy spikes in the chill.

Holly wiped her eyes and conjured a blanket, which she put over Shadow, and levitated her in the direction of the cave.

Shadow's head lolled to the side, not awaking.

Holly shivered and let Shadow drop a little once in the cave, she covered her with more blankets and sat next to her, wiling her to just wake up.

Shadow's wolfish face frowned and began to cough violently, water trickling out of her mouth.

Hayley sighed with relief. "What....why...what happened?" she asked, shivering.
