Herby gathered up her belongings, she didn't wish to be late like the last game, so she decided to arrive bright and early. There was no way she was going to miss another game. What kind of example was she setting as a captain, thoughts of embarrassment started to set in as Herby looked outside her window. A completely gloomy day, exactly what she was feeling.
Grabbing her broom and bat, Herby walked into the pitch. She had already put on her uniform before she left her dorm, as she didn't want to be late for anything. Jumping on her broom, Herby started to fly around and gather up speed. Since she was the first, she might as well practice a few important moves that she had been planning on using in this game.

Erika was ready for the Quidditch Match, she thought it was lucky she got on the team, but she wasnt sure if someone better should have took her place. Like a snake, cold slittered down her back. She took a deep and hard breath and walked out of the dorm with her broom in her hand and her hands in gloves. ~*~ Erika walked into the courtyard and through the arch was in the quidditch field, she hopped on her broom and soared up in the air. She seemed to be early and she knew she needed to practice her speed and control-ment. She wipped around like pacing back and forth till she noticed someone dressed in blue flying near her. She flew towards the ravenclaw player.

Amy flew onto the pitch, the whistle around her neck and the crate of balls under her arm.
She released the bludgers and the snitch, and then tossed the Quaffle into the air.

Pamela got up fairly early. She was still a bit groggy from the medication she was on, but it had worn off for the most part. When her ankle and mouth began to give off a dull throb, she considered taking a bit more, but she didn't want anything to affect her flying (even though when she started to hurt completely, that was going to distract her more). She had been joking for weeks that her crush on Gray was hazardous to her health, but what happened the other day was a bit extreme. She had been sitting on a stool, when he came up. In her hurry to get up, she had tripped on one of the rungs. Falling face-first, she had broken out her two front teeth, busted her upper lip, broken her nose, and sprained her ankle. The upshot of this occurance was that they had actually started dating officially.
Slowly, she got dressed and grabbed all her gear. With her Firebolt over her shoulder, she made her way down to the Great Hall. She wasn't very hungry, so she just grabbed a bit of toast and some coffee. Once she was finished, she headed toward the locker rooms. She reminded every Gryffindor she saw about the match. She finished preparing for the game inside the locker, then walked out to the pitch. She didn't need to worry about being able to see the snitch. There was next to no sun; the weather would have been quite depressing if she weren't so happy.
She mounted her broom and took off. She was surprised to realize just how good it felt to be in the air again. She didn't know just how much she'd missed flying during the break they'd had from quidditch. She had been getting frustrated with the game, and had initially been glad for the break. Now, though, she was glad to be back. Waving to the only Ravenclaw on the field, she shouted, "Hey Herby! How's it going?" Then she saw that another Gryffie had come on the field. "Hi Erica! I didn't know you were playing. Who are you subbing for?" Shortly after that, Amy walked onto the pitch, and the balls were released. "That's my que," Pamela said, taking off to look for the snitch, which had disappeared almost instantly.

Having learned from the morning of the last game, when Elana woke up she grabbed her robe and rushed down to check the bulletin board down in the common room. She scanned the notices, looking for anything that applied to today. Let's see...Prefects meeting next Tuesday, Pensive subscriptions running out, missing socks...Quidditch game vs. Gryffindor...today! Grinning, she clapped her hands together and raced back up to her dorm to change. She got ready quickly and swept a brush through her hair before tying it back in a ponytail. Feeling she had gotten up early enough for a quick breakfast, she headed down to the Great Hall instead of running straight to the pitch, late. She made her way down to the pitch a little while later after - er - encouraging her fellow Ravies rather loudly that they'd much rather support the team down at the pitch than stay in and get ready for exams.
As she left the castle, she frowned up at the dense dark clouds blanketing the usually clear blue sky. There was an unseasonable chill in the air, and she wished she had thought to grab a heavier sweater instead of the light hoodie she had on. Ah well - once up in the air, even though it would be colder, she'd be moving about more which would help. She headed on into their locker room to pull on her Quidditch robes, shoes, and guards, glad that she had at least had the sense to wear jeans rather than shorts. Taking Regina out of her locker, she patted Phoebe, smiling sadly at the bat. "Don't worry," she said softly, "next practice you'll get to come out, all right?" With that, she shut the locker and exited the locker room.
Elana swung a leg over her broom and pushed off from the ground, emerald eyes sweeping the pitch. She could only spot one other Raven and two Gryffies, but hopefully the rest would come soon! The balls had also been released, as she noticed when swerving out of the path of a Bludger, but where was that Quaffle? She sped towards the center of the pitch where it would have been thrown into play, not bothering to gain much altitude, and looked up. Shooting down towards her was the bright red ball, and she had to praise her good timing. She opened her arms to catch the Quaffle and was then off towards the Gryffindor goals, hoping for an early head start.

Herby did a loop de loop with a small wind mill effect. She was trying to master it, and learn to control her speed as well as her balance, for she wouldn’t want to fall off. Glancing around she noticed a red uniform enter the pitch. Then shortly after another.
As the referees whistle rang out, a mass of balls started to sore through the air. Herby waited for at least one more ravie before she made her move. She knew there were several Ravies that were bound to pop up. There was never a moment of doubt as Elana entered the pitch. Herby smiled and waved. She was extremely excited to see her, and honestly couldn’t remember a game that she hadn’t shown up to. “Hey Elana!” Herby screamed almost excitedly.
With that being said, Herby soared away, chasing after the bludger. It wasn’t long before Herby the master of bludger catching had captured the ball.

Pamela saw someone else come onto the pitch; it was Elana, another Ravenclaw. "Hi Elana she said." As she was flying around the pitch looking for her golden winged friend, she nearly slipped off her broom. Shaking her head a bit, she muttered, "I must still be a bit groggy from the medication." She then proceeded to do a sort of Caffiene Substitute manuever. Basically, she flew around the pitch as quickly as possible. She also did some loops and corkscrews. All the while she kept an eye out for the snitch. After a bit, she noticed that Herby had caught up with the bludger. That was cause for concern.

Hearing her name called a couple of times, Elana slowed to reply, "Hey Herby and Pam! Too bad about the weather, eh? Horrid day for a game, but at least it's not raining!" Knock on wood, she added inwardly, and shifted the Quaffle so she could tap her broom with a free hand. She continued towards the Gryffindor goals, keeping an eye out for the arrival of the Gryffindor Beaters or Keeper. Seeing that Herby had collected a Bludger, a smile spread on her face. That should keep the Gryffie Chaser away from her! She made her way to the goals, and took careful aim at the center one before throwing the Quaffle. There wasn't any Keeper to stop it, so she really hoped it would go in - how embarrassing would it be if it didn't?!

Kim woke up to Rhianna's song Umbrella. Her personalized alarm clock from her friend played a different tune every morning. Kim rolled out of bed and got dresssed. She ran downstairs and threw open the doors to the Great Hall, where most students were eating. She said,"Dont forget about quidditch today. All four houses are somehow managing to play on the same day, so it should be interesting!! Go root for your team, or MINE!!" She grabbed a slice of toast and a piece of bacon. She thought, I just love making a scene.
Kim ran onto the pitch in her jeans and a ravie spirit shirt, over her robes of course. She threw her hair into a ponytail and flew into the air. Kim waved at everyone on the pitch and saw Elana throw tha Quaffle towards the Gryffindor hoops. She was still chewing on bacon when she hoped the ball would gracefully land through the hoop.

Herby continued to smack her bludger around a bit, just trying to practice a few different versions of rolls and taps. Glancing around trying to figure out what everyone was up to and with a blink on a eye, Herby noticed Elana sent a Quaffle straight for the middle hoop at the opposite end.
It was great to be in the position that they were in, for as on now there wasn’t a Gryffindor Keeper. A smirk formed on her face, as the Quaffle continued on its path. Just as this was taken place Kimmy entered the pitch, waving Herby continued to tap the bludger.

Cris was in the bathroom, combing her hair, when a fellow Gryffindor girl rushed in, washed her hands and ran out again. "Hey, what's the hurry?!", Cris asked, being bumped into by the girl on her way out. "Gryffindor's playing Ravenclaw right now - Pamela told me!", the girl threw back at her and was gone. "Ah, ok .... OK?!".
Cris ran out of the bathroom screaming, quickly grabbed her broom and Quidditch robes, then ran into the locker room. "I'm late! I'm late! Bad Cris! Bad Cris!", she kept telling herself while jumping into her attire. "No time for any big theme," she reasoned grumbling while tyeing her hair into a ponytail, then ran out onto the Quidditch pitch pretty much like a madman, with no shoes on and with differently coloured socks - a red and a yellow one.
"Oi, why is this sky so grey, eh?!", she exclaimed to nobody in particular, then scanned the field for whatever players already were there. Only Erika and Pamela for her own team and Herby, Elana and Kim for Ravenclaw. She tried to convince herself that the situation didn't even look all that bad and she even half-succeeded, until her eyes fell onto the Quaffle that was making its way towards the Gryffindor goal hoops - which wouldn't have been all that terrible, were a Keeper protecting them.
"Lightning on a broom!", she cried and sped off with incredible acceleration. She had barely taken off that she was already flying at the best speed her broom would carry her, but it still didn't seem enough. She just wanted to make sure the Quaffle wouldn't go in, she really wanted that ... only, how would she do it without actually catching it, which was the Keeper's job?!
All of a sudden, an idea came to her: she could just use the Jumping Surfer move, which would mean standing up on her broom while flying at full speed, jumping and even landing back without breaking her neck! Ok, it did sound like a tired-of-life kind of move, but who cared?! - she felt like she could do it! She carefully drew her legs up and onto the broom, then slowly drew her whole body up, all while taking care to keep her balance, a feat that was not easy at all, she had to admit.
She was already close to the Quaffle when she had finally managed to stabilize herself and she now wanted to use the broom, that was flying on its own while she was jumping, to perform a tricky little move called "Broom Billiard" - meaning she hoped the broom would kick the Quaffle out of its track.
"KAMIKAZEEEEEEEE!", she yelled - pointlessly - as she jumped. It was a weird feeling to just float in the air, but she would land safely, wouldn't she?! She looked down, to where her broom was supposed to be after hitting the Quaffle. "Um - "... it wasn't there. Instead, she discovered it was a good meter to the right, because, typically Cris, she hadn't calculated that the broom would also fly off-track once hitting the Quaffle. "It's time for some.... Freefall Swimming!", Cris thought, basically just making some desperate moves to turn around while falling and reach her broom.
"WHEW!", Cris thought as her hand grabbed the broom. She took some time to calm down while dangling one-handed in the air, then sat back on her beloved Firebolt. It was only now that she realised with shock the danger of what she'd just been through. "Safetyyyyyyy!", she exclaimed crying and hugged her broom tightly. But, as she would later come to realise, it had all been worth the adrenaline, because the Quaffle was now drifting sideways. "Thank Merlin!"

| (Gryffindor Beater and Co-Captain)
June felt like a ghost. Really, she really did. She felt as if she'd been flitting around the castle, only halfway there, belonging, but slightly out of place. Meh... She knew that she was doing a horrible job as a member of the castle and that she'd really let her friends and house down as Co-Captain for Quidditch. June wanted to shout to the world that that would all change soon, that she was no longer going to feel like a ghost, that she'd soon be back to normal. She really did..... now if only that could be true. But the sad thing was that it wasn't, that she wasn't going to stop being a ghost, at least not anytime soon, and that she wasn't going to go back to normal. She sat beneath a tall oak tree and leaned against its trunk, just staring up at the gloomy grey sky. Suddenly, a flapping sound pulled her from her reverie and June turned her head to see a small owl floating towards her, a letter tied around its leg. It landed on the ground and thrust out its leg, pushing the letter away from itself. Wordlessly, June took the letter and unfolded it. It read:
JUNE!!!!!! GET YOUR GHOSTY POSTERIOR TO THAT QUIDDITCH GAME AGAINST RAVENCLAW!!!!! So what if you haven't been active lately?! GET A BOOST IN YOUR THEORETICAL ECTOPLASM!!!! Dude. Just go. Urry-hay Up-ay. Your future self.
June stared at the letter, her foggy brain slowly working, the rusty cogs creaking as they turned. Her future self? What in the name of the holy purple hippo....? June wasn't sure about the 'future self' part, but she knew that the sender of the letter was right about at least one thing: She needed to go play. She needed to support Gryffindor and her team mates, at least for one more game. She could go wallow in her ghostly-ness later.
She stood up and slowly began to walk back to the castle, her mind intent upon the Gryffindor Locker Room. As she walked, June's mind seemed to slowly be coming back to life. She remembered old Quidditch tactics and plays, distantly remembered the feeling of flying that she then connected with a kind of exhilirating happiness. She remembered flashes of colors, the blurs of players, and the distant sound of cheers and jeers. And as she remembered, part of her longed for it, yearned to be back in that world again. June wasn't quite sure how it happened and she only looked back on it after the game, but before she knew it, she found herself in front of the Gryffindor Locker Room.
Hesitantly, she went inside and her body seemed to know in which direction to move towards her locker, though her mind was still taking in the slightly unfamiliar sight. June slowly opened her locker and her forehead furrowed at the sight of a dusty broom and bat, though her robes were squeaky clean. Thank Hippo for house elves. June shrugged on her Quidditch robes, realizing that her motions were coming faster now. As she picked up her bat and cleaned it with a wave of her wand, June felt something almost foreign pumping through her veins. Could it possibly be... adrenaline? She tucked her bat under her arm and Vanished the dust on her broom, faithful old Aethera, and closed the door of her Locker. June felt a definite feeling of Rightness when she gathered up her hair and clipped it with her 'Gryffie' hair clip.
She looked around the dreary locker room and raised her wand; it need a little something more. Muttering incantations under her breath, June fliked and swished her wand around the room. When she was done, fake storm clouds hung from the ceiling, shot through with lightning, and a sign hung above the doorway to the Pitch. It read: Let's Shoot the Ravens out of the Sky!. June knew that the Gryffies needed a comeback, and she definitely wasn't giong to have a sign up that said Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best, like the motto for the Cannons.
Her heart beating faster, June walked out onto the pitch and reflexively mounted her broom without falling off. Well, at least she could still do that right. Her Beater skills, though? She wasn't sure that those were quite up to par. Clutching her bat in one hand and her broom with the other, June kicked off the ground. When she was in the air, she saw Cris, Katie, Erika, Herby, Kim, and Elana. She smiled at her friends, but her expression quickly became serious as she realized that the balls had already been released by Amy. June hefted her bat once in her hand before turning to scan the skies.
It was time to play. | |

Amber ran unto the field, late as usual. Even though she wasn't even on the team anymore she still managed to be late... she was just special like that it would seem. The game was further along than she usually came in, but it was better late than never, right? It wasn't her fault that she'd been away for the weekend and forgotten to remember to be up and awake early enough to show up. Luckily Cris had been nice enough to send her an owl as a reminder. Which was a very good thing, all things considered. Otherwise she probably would have never showed up, she kept forgetting to check the notice board lately.
As she looked around it would seem she wasn't the only one, she saw June just getting there as well. Well if she wasn't that far behind the rest of her teammates she didn't feel quite so bad. She hoped unto her broom and kicked into the air, smiling slightly at the familiar rush of it as it flew into her face. She'd missed quidditch, she hadn't played in a while and she was glad that she was back to play even if it was only for a bit. She grinned as she flew by June.
"Sorry I'm late!" she called, another familiar line out of her mouth. She'd said it every game she'd ever played in... which wasn't a good thing now that she thought about it. Oh well, it was too late to change the past. She raced over to the hoops, she would assume that for her lack of being there until just now there had probably been a goal already scored, if not more than one. Hopefully she'd be able to prevent more from coming now, she circled the hoops and kept an eye out for the quaffle.

Kim watched in horror as one of the Gryffindors pulled an idiot stunt, saving the Quaffle from entering the hoops. Kim turned to the ref, hoping for a whistle that would signal the illegal move. She turned around and saw the reserve Keeper show up. Kim waited for her to retrieve the Quaffle to keep the game in play. She looked over at Elana and mouthed, "That sucks. Let's try HARDER!".
Kim shifted on her brom and noticed the darkness of the sky. She looked up and couldn't find the sun. She frowned and shook her head. The weather isn't important. Winning is, she thought.

Pamela was quite excited to see Elana pull of a manuever that kept the quaffle from going through the hoops, even if it was probably the most dangerous move Pamela had ever seen. It looked like the Gryffies were back and kicking. She was even more glad when she saw that Amber had arrived. For the first time in a while, they would actually have a keeper. She thought back to their last match. She had been the only one in scarlet robes in the air. This time was quite different. She continued to fly arround with renewed excitement.
As she was rounding the pitch a few yards away from and below the Ravenclaw hoops, she saw a glint of gold hovering over at the other end. She gave a little silent squee in her head then leaned forward on her Firebolt, and pushed it into top speed. "Super Gryffie!" she yelled as she accelerated in the opposite direction. She could feel the wind whipping her robes behind her, and everything else seemed a blur as she zipped across the air at ridiculous speeds. Suddenly the gloomy day seemed a bit brighter, even though the sun had yet to make a real appearance. She was happier than she'd been in quite some time. Come on and stop me now! She thought to herself, somehow resisting the temptation to let out an audible taunt. Of course, maybe then Herby would send a bludger her way. Pamela kind of welcomed an attack. Seeking was not as exciting or glamorous as she'd always thought.

June smiled and waved to Amber as her friend flew by. One more Gryffie in the air could only help the Gryffie cause. She resumed her search for a bludger, trying to not get distracted by the flying players and the other balls. She could have sworn that this had been easier when she had actually played regularly... Sighing, she shook her head at herself; it was just ridiculous for her to be expecting her flying and beating skills to be up to scratch after such a long absence.
Suddenly, June felt her eyes drawn upwards toward a black dot. The dot - June now realized that it was a ball - was hovering above her and slightly to her left. It wasn't flying very quickly which was a blessing; June's skills could only handle slow-to-mid bludgers at this point in the game, though hopefully, that would change as she got used to playing again. As she thought those thoughts, June raised her broom and flew towards the bludger, gaining speed as she ascended. June kept her bat at her side, unsure whether the bludger would quickly move or not. Her uncertainty soon worked to her advantage. As June's shadow passed over the bludger, it stopped short before flying to the left of where it had been flying before.
Thank Hippo she was right-handed. Quickly, June put pressure on the left side of her broom and her broom instantly reacted. At least Aethera hadn't suffered too much from being cooped up for so long. June distantly wondered if her braking charm needed to be renewed, but the thought was chased out of her head by the more powerful mantra of: Get the bludger, get the bludger, get the bludger! June chased after the black ball, gradually gaining on it as she flew, following a very slight downward slope. She was almost there and she could feel her heart racing faster as she neared her goal.
Almost... almost.... wait. Though June kept flying, her mind was suddenly distracted. Her bat! She didn't have her bat! Had she expected to hit the bludger barehanded?! It was then that June noticed her outstretched hand, her bat tucked under her arm. Well... it appeared that she had. Honestly, she thought, how stupid can I get?. Rolling her eyes at her mental self, June quickly pulled back her wand and drew her bat in a motion similar to drawing a sword. Now, she was ready.
With a huff of effort, June slammed her bat into the bludger and sent it spinning down towards Elana's back. She knew that her friend was a fantastic Quidditch player and June knew that the Gryffies would benefit if Elana was momentarily held up. That was, if she was held up at all.... Coming back to her depreciated Quidditch skills, June hoped that her bludger would actually hit the Ravenclaw. In this case, all she could really do was 'cross her fingers and hope for the best'. June glanced down towards the blur that was Cris and she hoped that her sis would soon score, since there was no Ravenclaw Keeper in the air.

After Cris had stepped in to block her shot, Elana sighed, but no worries - they still had a little time! She waited with Kim for the Quaffle to be thrown back into play, signaling her friend to stay there to receive a catch from her. Elana flew down pitch a ways, hoping to be far enough away that she'd be able to catch the Quaffle. The ref gave it a toss and it soared through the air, landing safely in her arms. She didn't waste time celebrating, and instead began to fly over to Kim, needing to be a bit closer to be sure she'd get it to her. All of a sudden, the familiar woosh of a flying Bludger hit her ears. Taking a quick look over her shoulder, her eyes widened as they saw the large black ball zooming right at her. Kim was only a few yards away, as was the Bludger, and she needed to get the Quaffle to Kim and evade the Bludger - but was there time for both?
"CATCH AND THROW, CATCH AND THROW!" she bellowed, feeling like a drill sergeant. She threw the Quaffle at Kim and pulled up on her broom. If she could get going up fast enough, the Bludger would shoot right under her, but that was if she could. C'mon, Gina! If we wanna get out of this, we've gotta get going! It felt like she would make it, but then she felt the Bludger slam into the tail of her broom. The force of it whipped her around and down, and she began to loose altitude like crazy. Trying not to panic, Elana looked back to check the damage, and saw that most of the twigs on the end of the broom had been torn off, so that's why steering wasn't going so well. Blinking her eyes rapidly to keep her contacts from falling out (the wind was picking up, and speeding downwards wasn't helping), she tried to remember an emergency evacuation from this sort of situation. In an ideal world, a teammate would be beneath you to catch you, but she couldn't see any of her team. Panic rising inside her, she thought back. There must be other ways to not smash into the ground! She tried pulling up on her broom again to slow it down, but the ground was rapidly getting closer and closer, and nothing seemed to be working...
And then it struck her - the Flying Eagle! It wouldn't stop her, but it would make the landing softer. At least, it would in theory and the one session they'd practiced it. She took her shaking hands off of the broom, her legs squeezing tighter to keep her on and feet coming up to hook around the base for extra support. Taking hold of the edges of her robe, she spread her arms like wings. The robe formed a parachute-like something, catching the air in the billowing folds and slowing her down gradually. Once just about two yards above the ground, she unhooked her feet so she'd be able to actually land, and soon she was on the ground on wobbly legs. She set down Regina and took out her wand to try and repair her. The panic was wearing off, leaving her feeling quite silly at the sight she must have been. But silly was better than panicked, and safe was better than a crash landing, after all.

The game would be over soon. Pamela didn't have long to reach the snitch. Already she thought she saw someone making their way toward the pitch to announce the end of the match. No matter, though. She was nearing the little bugger, and as far as she could tell, no one was preparing to hit a bludger her way. She leaned forward a bit more, trying to push out a bit more speed from her broom. She felt a faint vibration, and thought she was really testing the Firebolt's limits. She wasn't to concerned, though. She had nearly made it to the snitch, when she felt her broom start to lose height almost as if there had been a weight added to it. In a Fit of Desperation, Pamela jumped up right beneath snitch and miraculously caught it before gravity took hold.
Next thing she knew she was falling, but managed to land on her broom. She was still losing height, though, at an increasingly rapid pace. There was no way she'd pull out of the dive, but with the Toast for a Lion. She might be able to slow down her free fall. She had been unsuccessful in her only attempt, but it was the only thing she could think of. She began going into a corkscrew motion, that did in fact slow her down a bit. Somehow, just before she hit the ground, she managed to pull up a bit before landing. Yet again, she would have to get her broom fixed, though.

Oh.. holy hopping hippos..... The bludger had actually hit Elana! Well, her broom, but still.... June had hit something! She let herself bask in a moment of elation before she reminded herself to get serious. Serious, June, serious, she thought. She scanned the air below her and watched Elana softly floating too the ground; good, at least she wasn't too hurt. Elana had thrown the quaffle over to Kim, so June decided that that Ravenclaw would be her next target.... if she found a bludger in time.
June sighed. She knew that she couldn't always be so lucky in her bludger findings, especially when she was in her state of having less Quidditch adeptness than she usually did. Humming to herself, she slowly flew lower in the air, keeping her eyes trained at the air around her. She waited a few moments, but sadly, no bludgers appeared in her sights. Even the one that she'd sent at Elana had now disappeared. She narrowed her eyes as a thought came to her. All her time as a Beater before had beat into her head that she could only use bludgers in the game. But.... what if she used herself?
Liking her idea more and more, June tucked her bat beneath her robes, squashed herself against her broom, and pointed her broom at Kim. She tucked her feet beneath her for a more aerodynamic form, and quickly gained speed. As she flew towards the Ravenclaw, June made a mental note that Aethera needed a check-up. Instead of smoothly gaining speed, June's downward dive was giving her only bursts of speed, with the broom. When she neared Kim, June did a Woollongong Shimmy. Though it was usually a Chaser move, it might still distract Kim, who was a Chaser. June continued making zigzags in the air.
Suddenly, she heard the sound of a crash that usually signalled a player connecting with the ground. Startled, June stopped in her airy tracks and turned to see the source of the sound. One of her hands flew to her mouth when she saw what had happened and she quickly abandonned Kim, flying as fast as she could towards Pamela. "Pamela!" she shouted when she was within possible hearing distance. "Are you okay?" June reached the ground and smoothly slid off of her broom. She ran to her teammate who didn't look too injured, but looks could be deceiving. It was then that June saw the Snitch. In Pamela's hand. And for the 6th time that day, June thought, Holy Hippos..... She felt a grin break across her face as she hugged her teammate, only thinking of the possible damage she did to the Gryffindor Seeker after she had leaned away.

"I'm okay June," Pamela said reassuringly after the co-captain had pulled back. "I managed to pull out enough to land. It wasn't the tidiest of landings, but that's okay." She was just glad that she hadn't crashed like she had the only other time she had attempted that corkscrewing manuever. "I'll have to send my broom away. I think I pushed it a bit too hard, but at least I caught this little guy," she said holding up the now struggling snitch. The day seemed much brighter now, and Pamela was glad more than ever to be back with her team for real this time. Overcome with excitement, she leaned in and gave June a hug that was probably even harder than the one Pamela had just received.

"Oh, good," June breathed in relief. Pamela seemed fine, though a little bruised, and June hoped that there wouldn't be any longterm damage. As her friend explained about her broom, June nodded and said, "Yes, we wouldn't want you to be without a broom at the next game." The next game. Next game. She was already thinking about the next game! June's grin spread even wider; it had been a while since she'd even contemplated thinking ahead about a thing like Quidditch. She could tell that this game had rejuvenated her, shown her how wonderful Quidditch could be. June almost felt as if she was starting out again!
June felt her breath rush out of her when Pamela crushed her in a hug and she laughed, the adrenaline gradually draining out as she began to get a bit hyper. "Thank you!" she said excitedly, "Thank you Pam!!!!" June turned to the sky and waved down the Gryffindors, delighted at what Gryffindor had managed to achieve in this game.
