8th House Quidditch: HUFFLEPUFF V GRYFFINDOR : 28th-2nd

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June grabbed her broom and ran out onto the Quidditch pitch. She looked around and to her surprise, June saw that she was the first one out there. Smiling, she mounted her broom and flew into the air, waiting for her other team members.

(Gryffindor Beater)

Amber ran into the pitch, looking around she gave a sigh of relief. She was the second one there, she smiled. Getting onto her broom she flew into the sky and looked around to see if anyone else was approching. Seeing that it looked to be just her and June for now she decided to talk to her.

"Hey June!"

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June waved to her team mate and friend. "Hey Amber!" Looking around, June said, "I wonder where everyone else is..."

(Hufflepuff Beater)

Streams, suffering from a terrible hangover, stumbled onto the field, clutching her broomstick tightly with one hand and sheilding her eyes from the harsh sunlight with the hand that held her beloved bat. She flung a leg over the broomstick, tried to shoot up quickly, and a surge of dizziness came over her and she nearly fell off.

She decided to take it gently for a bit and at last soared gracefully into the air, hefting her bat from one hand to the other. The fresh air in her face did wonders for her headache, but she wished she had taken a potion before heading out to the field.

Squinting, she carefully scanned the pitch for the Bludgers.::

Gryffindor Seeker

Cristina was in the locker room, hurriedly tying her hair into a ponytail, when she heard Madam Hooch angrily shout from outside, "The game had begun, you party people, so come and play!". She looked around to her teammates, all with a guilty expression on her face. It had been a fun night indeed but nobody was yet really awake. Cris tried to smile to her own image in the mirror to shake off the headache, but it didn't work. Sighing, she left the locker room and went out on the field, quickly mounting her broom under Madam Hooch's severe looks. She smiled apologetically, then swooshed up in the air.
The wind in her face immediately made her feel better and she had gotten rid of her headache after only 3 rounds around the pitch. Now she felt just in the right mood to play some serious Quidditch! She flew to the other players there and greeted them with a "Woohoo! Gryffie's gonna win!".

Gryffindor Beater

Aliza ran out on to the pitch while trying to get her arm in the sleeve of her cloak. Sadly it wasnt working. Shrugging she climbed on to the broom anyway - she could sort out trivial problems like that once in the air. When she managed to finally get decent she did a quick lap of the pitch to warm up, waving to each of her fellow team members as she passed them.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

"Mummy!!!" June shouted when she saw Aliza. Waving to her, June saw that it was now time to play and flew towards the middle of the field to get the quaffle. She grabbed it and started to fly towards the Hufflepuff goal posts.

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

Jogging out to the quidditch pitch, Jenn quickly swept her hair back as she hopped on her broomstick. As she looked up in the sky, she spotted the quaffle being caught directly above her as they headed toward the Hufflepuff goal posts. Bending her knees slightly, she pushed off of the ground and sprang into the air. The wind blew in her face as she blinked to keep her dry eyes on the quaffle. Leaning low on her broomstick to make the broom accelerate faster, Jenn flew straight up. With an outstretched arm, Jenn reached out and punched the quaffle through her arms as her left hand lightly pulled the broomstick to the left, away from the other players. Sliding forward on her broomstick to dip down a bit, she nearly fell off the top and held on tightly. As she reached out her right hand to catch the fallen quaffle, she tucked it between her stomach and the broomstick for safety. Flying in loops to dodge opposing players, she suddenly dropped to flatten herself on the broomstick as a bludger streaked past her. Jenn quickly flew past the judges' seat to give Lily a whistle and wink before continueing on her way.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June braked immediately when she found that the quaffle had been taken from her. 'Oh no you didn't' June thought. Immediately, she wheeled around and raced after Jenn. An idea entered June's mind and she flew downward, towards the ground. When she was 15 feet above the grass, June flew straight across the field, right underneath Jenn. June mentally counted to three and shot up like a bullet. As she flew, June plucked the quaffle from the Hufflepuff's arms and clutched it tightly to her. June turned around and flew towards the Hufflepuff goals once more. The Keeper was no where in sight and so June scored an easy goal, throwing the quaffle right through the center hoop.

"Yes!" she cried and she high-fived her team mates. "Go go Gryffindor!" she said before she flew to the center of the field once more, ready to catch the quaffle when it was thrown into play.

(hufflepuff Beater)

Streams bent low on her broom, her eyes scanning the pitch for the Quaffle. Finally she spotted one at the other end of the pitch and zoomed for it, pushing it lightly in front of her with soft jabs of the bat. The bludger attempted to zoom away, then tried to hit streams in the face, but each time streams punched it lightly away, while still keeping it close.

She decided to try a new move and swung the bludger straight into the center of the pitch, where there were no players whatsoever. I'll call this the Badger Stripe, she thought gleefully, as the bludger directly collided with the Quaffle, which had just been thrown back into play. Therefore the Quaffle, instead of continuing to rise upwards, veered off towards Jenn.::

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

Jenn looped the Gryffindor goal hoops as she waited for the signal. As the quaffle was thrown into play once more, she pulled her broomstick back and nodded at Streams. As she watched, Streams somehow got a hold of a bludger and smacked the bludger straight at the quaffle. As it slammed past the other players, Jenn leaned to the side and swerved to grab the quaffle with both hands. Her hands aching a bit from the impact, she tucked the quaffle under her arm and turned her broomstick around.

As she approached the goalposts, she lined up in front of the left hoop to take her shot. Throwing the quaffle up into the air, she leaned forward to volley it straight into the hoop. Suddenly her broomstick buckled for a bit causing her to sway off course.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June saw Jenn throw the quaffle into the air in front of the Gryffindor goals and June urged her broom to fly straight and fast towards the quaffle. Unfortunately for Jenn, it seemed that her broom was acting up a bit. She had gotten a bit off course, allowing June to swoop down and snatch the quaffle out of the air. "Bad luck there!" June called and flew with the quaffle towards the Ravenclaw goal posts. Suddenly, a bludger zoomed towards her and June swerved to the side to avoid it. She sighed with relief and once again, resumed her journey to the goal posts. Once at the Ravenclaw goals, June threw the quaffle into the air and, using the tail of her broom, hit the quaffle through the right goal hoop.

June is getting too busy out there, streams thought, smirking, and zoomed towards a bludger. Tilting her head slightly, she smashed the bludger right at June and was satisfied to see it slam into her left shoulder...

She was too busy rejoicing over her perfect hit that she let her guard down for a moment, and the bludger came soaring right back to her and hit streams in the stomach. Streams doubled over, gasping for air.::

(Hufflepuff Chaser)

Glancing around the field for her other fellow teammates, Jenn bit her lip as she considered what play to perform next. Deciding to wait until someone came to perform the Fallen Badger, she concentrated on getting the quaffle at hand. As the quaffle was tossed into play once more she caught the quaffle with her left hand and sped toward the goalposts. Feeling the opposing team behind her, she quickly loosened her thighs and hands to slid upside down performing the Sloth Grip play even though there were no bludgers involved. As she swooped downwards, her broomstick slowed down a bit causing the opposing players to fly past her, not expecting the sudden drop. Tucking the quaffle underneath her arm once more, Jenn blew her bangs out of her face and pulled her broomstick back up once more and flew in the Gryffindor goal posts.

Arriving at the Gryffindor goals thankfully in one piece, Jenn performed the Chaser’s version of the Double Eight Formation. She grasped the quaffle in her hands and looped all three goal posts in rapid circles. Jerking her broomstick downwards, she flew underneath the center goalpost and over the top. Loosening her arm’s grip on the handle, she flopped upside down unexpectedly and toss the quaffle into the hoop with a quick swish for a goal.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June had flown past Jenn when she had slowed down and she shook her head slightly to clear the stars she had begun to see when Jenn had done that figure-eight. Once the quaffle was thrown back into play, June grabbed it and decided to take out some of the opposition before it had evne begun. She held the quaffle tight to her and flew in multiple loops around Jenn.

When the Hufflepuff chaser was thoroughly confused, June sped off towards the Hufflepuff goals. She then used the Sloth Grip Roll like Jenn had, but this time, June actually had to avoid a bludger... well, actually, two of them. June quickly righted herself when the bludgers had gone somewhere else and she flew until she was in front of the Hufflepuff goalposts. June threw the quaffle high into the air and, using a muggle volleyball move, spiked it through the left hoop. "And score!" she said triumphantly.

(Hufflepuff Beater)

:Etta ran onto the pitch, her firebolt smoking furiously with desperation to get into the game, she swung her leg over the broom and shot off into the air her eyes narrowed on a bludger heading in her direction,

Swinging her bat hard she whacked the bludger directly at June the Gryffindor Chaser, it smashed into the tail of her broom and sent her spiraling down to earth with a victorius grin Etta saluted her team.

"Don't you just love a Badger spin?" she called out as she shot off in search of her next bludger for her next victim.

Gryffindor Beater.

Aliza saw June's broom spinning through the air. She flew up to her and grabbed her broom to steady her. Once June was under control Aliza flew after the nearby bludger and whacked it toward Etta. Whoops...she was gonna get grounded for that later. Grinning slightly to herself as the bludger hit etta in the side she flew away, after another bludger.

Gryffindor Seeker

Criswas once again flying in circles around the pitch, enjoying the house-elf-less speed her broom had. Well, anyone who had watched the last Gryffindor match would know what she meant. The speed was so much fun that she began flying loops, which made her slightly dizzy. Oups!, she thought, I'd better watch out, I don't wanna get myself or others hurt.. or miss the snitch... Just as she thought that, she saw it - yes, thew very snitch she had in mind! It was joyfully fluttering about 2-3 metres under her, while she was flying upside-down. It had taken her by surprise, she hadn't expected to see it so early in the game. She had to think very fast - she would probably lose it if she took the time to turn and fly straight again, but it was practically impossible to get to it otherwise. Fine,she thought, I'll give it a go!. She quickly turned around the axis of her broom, trying to keep an eye on the snitch, but when she was sitting upright again, she had lost it. She cursed under her breath, but it was anyhow still early in the game and the Hufflepuff Seeker hadn't yet shown up, so she didn't worry too much.

(Hufflepuff beater)

Streams eyed a bludger and went chasing after it, then decided to practice a straight swing, which huffies called the Badger's Arrow. Glancing up the pitch, she saw that Cris was right in the path of the bludger and smirked happily. She drew back the bat and swung it with all her might towards the bludger, it connected with a satisfying thunk and barrelled straight for Cris, who seemed to be bored anyway.

Let her try and dodge that, streams thought gleefully.

Gryffindor Seeker

Cris saw a really fast and violent bludger heading towards her. She only had time to see with the corner of her eye that it came from Streams, then she felt a strong blow in her right arm, which made her wince and almost fall off her broom. Owww, that was brutal!, she thought miserably after she had regained her balance. She glared towards Streams. Looking bored is clearly the wrong thing to do, she said to herself, rubbing her hurt arm. But then again, she added to herself, Quidditch is a dangerous sport.

She shrugged her shoulders - or rather, semi-shrugged in the case of her left shoulder, because her whole arm hurt -, then flew off, keeping an outlook for the snitch.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June felt herself get spun around on her broom as a bludger hit her. Thanks to her dear Mummy though, June wasn't spinning for long. "Thanks!" June shouted to Aliza after she had helped June get still again. Once she was back on task, June looked around for the quaffle. She saw that a Ravenclaw had the precious ball and June flew to Cristina. "Hey sis, do you wanna try the Gryffe Grab?" June asked.

Gryffindor Seeker

Cris had still not found the snitch, so when June asked her whether she wanted to do the Gryffie Grab, she thought one second to remember what that was, then nodded enthusiastically. "Yup, sure!". She began preparing herself for the move and flew a few metres under June.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June grinned. "Great!" she cried. "Ready when you are!" She flew up towards the Ravenclaw with her beloved quaffle and, while the Ravenclaw glanced at her cautiously, June flew above the Chaser and slightly to the right. Carefully positioning her broom, June warily stood up on her broom. Balancing, June shouted, "Now!" down to her sister and jumped off the broom. June fell down, and so did her broom... but as June fell, she grabbed the quaffle out of the other Chaser's arms, hence the name, the Gryffie Grab. June closed her eyes and held the quaffle tightly to herself... Praying to Merlin that the manouvre would work like it had so often before.

Gryffindor Seeker

Cris was ready for this - it was one of their favourite moves, after all. She saw June's broom fall, and hurried to get it, then she calculated where June would land. Yuppers!, she thought joyfully, as she felt June land behind her on her broom. She was happy it had worled again and helped June get onto her own broom, congratulating her, "It was great, sis! Way to go!"

(Gryffindor Chaser)

"Thanks Cris!" June siad. "I couldn't have done it without you!" After stabilizing herself on her broom, June gave her sister a quick hug before zooming off to the Hufflepuff goals clutching the quaffle to her. On her way to the goalposts, June saw a bludger flying towards her. She smiled and decided to execute another play. June turned around and flew a few feet back. The bludger was still heading for her and then June used the tail of her broom to whack the bludger towards one of the Gryffindor beaters. Smiling, June got her broom into position again and flew to the Hufflepuff goal posts. Aiming carefully, June took the quaffle in hand and, after testing the wind, tossed the ball through the center hoop. Hearing the 'ding' of the bell, June triumphantly flew back to the center of the pitch.

(Hufflepuff Beater)

:Etta growled at Aliza and sent a bludger directly at her, whilst thinking how much trouble her daughter was going to be in when they touched down. i'm going to pull her off that brom by the ears and drag her up to the north tower and push her off Etta thought menacingly.

all of a sudden her eyes caught the swift decline of a bludger heading towards her, dropping flat on her broom she kicked out hard, speeding fast, on a collistion course with the bludger, Etta flung out her arm and the bat, smashed the Bludger directly at the Gryffindor Seeker.

that looks painful, teehee thought Etta as she sped off waving her bat like a mad seer in a badger suit, which she was.:

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June finished celebrating her goal and looked towards Cris, just in time to see a bludger heading towards her sister! June's eyes narrowed and she flew fast as a bullet towards Cristina. Braking right in front of her, June quickly waved a hand to dismiss her sister's questioning look and she carefully aimed at the incoming bludger. 'And hi-ya!' June thought, spinning her broom in a 360 and using the tail of it to shoot the bludger back at Etta. Smiling teasingly at her grandmother, June thought, 'Maybe I should try out as a Beater next year...'

Shaking her head to focus once more, June flew to snatch the quaffle out of the air after it was thrown back into play. She caught the quaffle and raced to the Hufflepuff goalposts. June risked a quick glance behind her and noticed a bludger on her tail, probably hit by one of the Hufflepuff beaters. Flying faster, June reached the Hufflepuff goals. She made a split-second decision and then threw the quaffle in front of the right goal hoop, before quickly getting out of the way. She watched as a spectator while the bludger that had been tailing her smashed into the quaffle and they both went through the hoop. 'Hmmm...' June thought. 'What move would that be called? The Manipulating Lion?' She shrugged and got back into position, flying to the center of the pitch once more.

(Gryffindor Beater)

Amber cringed as she watched bludgers get knocked around toward her team, she really had to learn not to nod off, it was dangerous. She quickly cheered for June and headed after the bludger that had gone threw the hoop. Catching up to it, she swung her bat back and hit it squarely at Etta, who seemed to be causing the most problems anyway. She then drifted around, carefully keeping her eye on the other players on the team trying to not make sure they weren't being attacked by bludgers again.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June saw the quaffle get thrown into play again and flew to retrieve it. Once the beloved ball was safely tucked under her arm, June began the flight to the Hufflepuff goals. She glanced around herself and saw that a group of Hufflepuff chasers were beginning to crowd her from all sides. June thought about what to do and, after one of the chasers tried to steal the quaffle, June braked her broom to a stop and then, almost immediately afterward, flew straight up, leaving the Hufflepuffs to eat her dust. Once she had lost the chasers, June righted herself and once again flew towards the Hufflepuff goals. The Keeper seemed to be taking a nap, so June easily scored a goal through the left goal hoop. After the bell rang 'ding', June flew back to the center of the pitch, shouting, "GOOO GRYFFINDOR!!!!!!!"

(Hufflepuff Beater)

:: Etta's eyes were as wide as the moon when its full, two bludgers were heading her way, swinging her bat wildly she smashed it hard into both bludgers, sending them straight at June.

"Im no Grandmother!!!!" etta shouted as she glared at Aliza, flying towards her opponent and hovering next to her in mid air. "You are grounded young lady!!"

Etta sat bobbing in the air beside Aliza, waiting for the game to end and her brutal punishment for her daughter to begin.:

(Gryffindor Beater)

Amber zooomed after the bludgers trying to keep them from hitting June. She successfully hit the first one away and toward a Hufflepuff chaser, the second one she missed. Swinging at it once more, while trying not to hit June, she hit it toward a different Hufflepuff chaser. "You okay?" she asked June.

She then looked around once more, keeping her eye on the bludgers, until she was distracted by Etta's yelling. Looking over at them she was amused, and glad she wasn't playing against her mum. "Poor Aliza."

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June gasped as two bludgers flew her way. "Crap..." she muttered before she did a Sloth Grip Roll to avoid one of them and righting herself to avoid the other. Unfortunately for her, one of the bludgers doubled back. At that moment, June saw that the quaffle was thrown into play. June raced to catch it before a Hufflepuff chaser did and, after catching the quaffle, swerved to avoid the bludger. But she wasn't quick enough. As the bludger rushed past, it also bumped into her, causing June to drop the quaffle. June focused once more after rubbing her bruised arm and dived towards the ground. "Come here Quaffle..." she muttered through clenched teeth as she extended her arm to grab the evasive ball. finally, June caught it and pulled up from the dive, 5 feet above the grass. She secured the quaffle once more and flew towards the Hufflepuff goal posts.

Gryffindor Seeker

Cris flew over to June, "Thanks for saving me!", she said smiling, then added, "That was one bludger I didn't feel like meeting!".

Checking her watch, she realised it was high time for the snitch to be caught - after all, she growing hungry and tired. One last effort!, she thought victoriously and flew away.

It was at her fifth round of the pitch that she spotted a golden glitering.. something, it was too far away to tell exactly what it was. She decided to follow it nevertheless and bent on her broom, accelerating. She felt the wind through her hair and a sudden feling of luck overcame her - she somehow knew she was going following the right path this time. She sped across the field, zooming between the dazzled players, until the snitch was not more than a few metres away. How beautiful it was! She smiled and reached her hand out, but it was of course too early. And the snitch seemd to be getting faster - No way!, she thought angrily. She observed that the track of the snitch was pretty straight.. if it remained that way, she could easily gain more speed, using a little trick. She balanced her legs up on the broom's tail and bent even more forwards, until she was lying completely straight on the broom. It worked - she was slowly but surely getting closer to the snitch! She gritted her teeth, hoping that nothing would go wrong on the last meter, prayed even - and then - yes!! She felt a round, hard object in her left hand. She closed her eyes - opened them again - just to check she wasn't dreaming. But she wasn't!
As soon as she realised this, she also heard the crowd's and the team's cheers. She gleefully descended and waited for the others, welcoming them with shouts of "Guys, you were great!" and "Goooo Gryffindor!"

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June clapped and cheered when she saw that her sister had caught the snitch. "Yes!!!" she shouted. Flying over to Cris, June gave her a high-five and said, "Good going, Cris!" June high-fived all of her other team mates as well. She then flew around the pitch and high-fived the cheering Gryffindor spectators who were screaming themselves hoarse. June was in a high-fiving mood today. "Let's Go Gryffindor!!!!!" she said. "Go Go GRYFFINDOR!!!!!!!!!" June laughed at her hyper-ness and hugged Cris before doing a little dance on her broom.
