The Masquerade ::Vi and Mar::

Thierry sighed, pushing her hair back some. She made sure the curls in her hair stayed in place as she as she placed her white and sapphire mask on. Her dressed was long but puffy at the waist and she slipped her shoes on, wondering why the hell she was going anyway.

He hated these kind of events, vampires could be so, so...decadent at times. They were hellbend on rules and liked to show off more then anything else. Specialy to other vampires and their clans. Thank God it was a masked one, that tempered things a notch or two.

he had opted for a costume he once saw in a muggle movie. He was clad in black clothing, the rims of his silk white shirt showing from his sleeves. he had to wear a hat with some kind of veils so he had a mask covering his face and one on the back of his head. one mask was smiling while the other looked norse

after a final glance in the mirror he got into the hall
''we leave in ten minutes'' he shouted

Thierry walked into the ballroom, sighing. She saw some others where wearing something ike she was and was thankful she wasnt over dressed. Walking over to a corner, she sat by herself, staring into space. She was a bit shocked that Luke had allowed her to go, but she knew there was a reason for it. Violet would most likely go to this event and gave her a chance to kill her. But she wasnt. She didnt really care for the death of Violet anymore.

they were running late and it wasn't Sally's fault either, she looked great in her victorian style dress that showed of her italian decent fot it was in the colors of the italian flag. Her black hair shone and her blue eye mask seemed to glow on her face.

No it was all the fault of the third party in the car. He was the oldest of the three of them, nearing 200 he always said vaguely, but he was ironicly enough the most childlike as well. Not to mention more vain then most female vampires and that was saying soemthing.

He had to admit though Edward looked great, there wasn't anything one could remark on his outfit. not a single creak was out of place, no speck on his shining boots and certainly no stain on his white knee pants. he ahd opted for a ivory mask he could hold in his hand, claiming he didn't want to deny the ladies the sight od his face all night

Violet would be fuming mad if they didn't hurry yp

Thierry took a sip of the blood in front of her, wrinkling her nose in disgust. Whoever this blood belong to had been spikd with wine. She sat her glass down, laying her head down with tears in her eyes.

Violet looked at her clock, glaring as the time went by. She would have to kill Mar if he didnt hurry up. She saw everyone dancing around in the ballroom before walking into the entrance hall, growling softly.

he had been afraid for nothing, it turned out Violet liked to make a late entrance herself. that didn't mean he wasn't showing Edward just how displeased he was for keeping them up.

It seemed everyone had known when violet showed up and made her entrance, she had quite a few kin after all. he was next to last to enter, flanked by Sally and Edward.
with a kiss on her cheek he allowed Sally to saunter off, the girl was way to excited. He made Edward stay longer by his side as punishment before he grew tired of the moans and sighs the man kept making and shooed him away. ''No bad behaving'' he gave as a warning

Thierry's head looked up, hearing a familiar voice. She just shook her head, watching the two people that had arrived with the person go off. The girl was beautiful and the boy was just....ok. She seen Violet, in a beatiful lavnder dress and mask with her hair pulled back on her head.

he smiled as he saw Sally showing off her dress to one of her friends. he hoped she would have a good time, she had been looking forward to this ball for weeks now. Naot as much as Edward though, who he found allready flirting with a couple of vampires.

he noticed most of the important clans had showed allready, well those that he knew off that is. there were still plenty of vampires and clans he hadn't met in the past three years

Thierry held her wand firmly in her hand, walking towards Violet. "Ms. Riddle, it's an honor to meet you." She said softly, bowing. She had the feeling if she did kill her, Luke would let her go and she would be able to fine a place for herself instead of the hell hole she had to call home.

She glanced up at Violet, who was smiling softly. "Yes....I know excatly who you are." She said with a weird tone. Thierry raised an eyebrow, swallowing the fear in her throat. "Where is your sire, Pelit?" She asked her.

he had taken something to drink and a couple of nibbles from the various food plates as he wandered around, bowing at some of the more nobel vampires he knew.

he noticed violet was talking to a strange looking vampire, he had an inkling he should know her. she looked good in her majestic blue dress, he noted as he walked closer.

violet had a few of her kin still around so there shouldn't be a problem, still he wanted to get closer

"I..I ran away from him, Violet." She said softly, looking at the older woman with a bit of hate in her eyes. "Yes..I can understand someon running from Mar." She said, nodding. Thierry nodded, licking her lips nervously. "I have some news you may like concerning some werewolves." She told her.

it didn't look like there was any tension between the two or that trouble was silently brewing. but that was the trouble with vampires, they could be fine one second and then fly off the handle the next and unleash all hell

Sally came up to him, having sensed he was being cautious and asked if everything was allright. he just shrugged

''dunno yet, hard to tell''

Violet looked at Thierry for a few seconds and Thierry looked down. "I was sent here to kill you, but I'm turning my wand over to you. I gave up my mission long ago...so here." She whispered softy, handing her wand out. Violet grasped it for a few seconds, pocketing it. "Also, Luke Hilter is planning an attack in a few weeks..." Thierry told her before bowing and walking off again. She walked to the window, looking outside for a few minutes before unlocking the door, stepping out to the bacony

the exchange of words between the two vampires was brief and the strange vampire left a while later.

he excused Sally a few minutes later when the female stepped onto one of the balconies. Something was buzzing at the back of his mind but he wasn't sure what. He positioned himself across the room from where he had a good view should the female step inside again

a couple of vampires he knew came over to say hello but he didn't offer them much conversation, his focus solely on the door across the room

Thierry let herself lean against the railing, looking down at the yard. She could see some others making their way across the yard and she sighed, taking a sip from his drink again. After a while of being outside, she could hear Violet saying something about people gathing around to dance and she looked inside for a few seconds before making her way back inside.

it had been nearly half an hour and turning four dance partners down later that he was rewarded when she stepped back inside. good, he was beginning to think she might have left allready

he slowly made his way across the room to get closer and observe her. he was getting close when he suddenly stopped his progres, that blood fragrance, it couldn't be

''it's you'' he said to her through their link

Thierry turned around, a glare on her face. She heard someone but she didnt see anyone but then her eyes snapped to the person she saw walk in earlier with the beautiful girl and ok looking guy. "What do you want?" She asked out loud, making her way towards him.

''nice looking dress'' he complimented out loud
''I just wanted to find out who you were, I didn't know it was you until a minute ago. I see they treated you better then you expected''

"Bruises fade." She hissed softly, pushing passed him. Her eyes snapped to Violet, who was smirking and Thierry grlared softly, walking towards the door, only to be grabbed by someone who was trying to dance. "Let me go." She mumbled, looking up.

''nice seeing you again'' he shouted at her retreating back ''still the same lovely personality'' he chuckled to himself and downed a trnasparent blue beverage he had picked from a tray

When Thierry was let go, she stumbled towards the wall, glaring at the dance floor. There was no way in hell she was going to get out without being dragged by someone else across the floor. So she sat in her corner quietly, glaring at Mar again.

before he could get another drink he was stopped by Althea, a drop dead gorgeous dark skinned vampire from a neigbouring clan. they had worked together once on a mission that interested both their masters.

''if I must'' he said with a dramatic sigh when she asked if he wanted to dance and he took her hand in his and lead her to the dance floor

Thierry felt a bit of rage in her when she saw mar dancing with someone but turned her head, sipping her drink again. A few seconds later, someone dropped infront of her and she glared. "What the hell do you want James?" she asked him, tkaing another sip.

he shared a couple of dances with Althea, she was good company and they met up regularly. She was always good for laughs and in a fight it was a good thing to have her on your side, she was fierce.

they promised to meet up soon again and maybe dance later on again before heading seperate ways

he was amused to find Edward was hitting on Kiko again. The girl was either playing very hard to get or she realy wasn't interested but found Edwards attempts humorous

"Didnt know you were a vampire." James told her softly, looking down at his hands. Thierry just glared. "Yes...three years ago when I disappeared off the side of the earth." She said, laying her head down.

Sally joined him at one of the tables to rest for a bit and have something to eat with him

''having fun?'' he asked the girl and she nodded enthusiasticly at which he laughed
he was glad she was having a good time, she ahd been nervous about the whole thing. it was her first big event she had to attend and still wasn't to sure on the proceedings involved

he thought she had a better clue then Edward but made sure not to say that out loud

Thierry looked at Mar again and stood up, ignoring James. She walked over to where he was, pulling her mask off. "Is there anyway to make someone else my sire?" she asked him a bit harshly.

he and Sally had just been laughing at Edward when they were interrupted

he looked up dumbfounded

''change sires?'' he asked as if she had just asked him if the easter bunny was real

''Well no, you can't deny nor ignore your sire. you could join another vampire and become his shadow kin, I guess. I'm not Sally's or Edwards sire but they have bonded themselves to me. It's not because I'm your sire you can't join up with another'' he finished

"I want another sire. I dont want a connection to you." She said harshly. "I hate not having a sire who isnt there. I left and you should have tried to find me. I had no where to go or what the hell to do except go back to Luke...and it was the worse thing ever." She mumble, sitting down at the table, looking over at James for a few seconds.

Sally was by now glaring at her and he knew she was about to lash out, but with a simple gesture from his hand he let her know not to interfere

''I tolld you that day you left. I never wanted you to leave but I wouldn't come looking for you untill you called for me. I waited for over a year'' he said raising his voice ''you never got in touch either. You walked out on me, not the other way around. I looked forward to being your sire, you refused me from day one'' he tried not to show how sad she had made him but wasn't sure he had succeeded

"You hit me for tearing up a damn picture you fixed again with magic." She said, tears in her eyes. "I remember nothing from that day you turned me except Luke. You have no idea the horrors I went threw being with him. And when I leave tonight, you will end up feeling a lost and that will be me, most likely dead. Because I have yet to kill your...your thing you call a sire!" She yelled before turning around, wiping at her eyes. "And for you infomation...I called eight times when Luke would..nevermind." she whispered, walking back to James.

''you deliberately tore that picture to spite me and you succeeded. the memory of my sister is very dear to me and you mocked it at that time. Don't whine at me for that slap, it was nothing. I'm sorry you had a rough time, but you chose those horors over being with me'' he had felt lost the first few months after she had dissapeared, fearing she was dead and hating himself for turning her cause the thought of binding her to him was so appealing

''All you have to do is ask'' he continued ''just ask and I will be there for you. But I cannot undo our bond, I'm sorry''

"I did ask." She mumbled to herself, as James stood up, walking to her. "Come on...you dont look happy." he whispered, picking her up. Thierry glared at him, teasr still in her eyes. "He hates me." She whispered softly, crying agian. James told her to stop crying, but it didnt work. More tears fell from her eyes and she felt them walking to the entrace hall and up some stairs.

he was perplexed, if she had called on him as she said she had then why didn't he ever heard her or sensed her? It didn't make sense. He had been hoping and waiting for some sign for the longest time and felt bad when nothing came. and now she was telling him she did call and he didn't respond...

''wait!'' he called out coming to his senses again. He stood up and walked over to her, followed closely by Sally

''Did you realy call?'' he asked ''I never knew...if I had...I'm sorry, I don't know why I couldn't''

he wasn't making much sense

James glared at him. "She did call and always came to me when you didnt answer. After the last time, she gave up." He hissed as Thierry looked down at her hands. James turned back around, walking up the stairs to a room he was staying in.

''but that shouldn't be possible'' he said in defense ''someone or something must have beem blocking our link cause there is no way to stop us from 'communicating'. I've been waiting for a sign of you for the past two years. If only I had known you wanted to contact me...I thought you didn't want anything to do with me anymore''

Thierry glared at her hands before looking at James. "Make him leave me alone." She whispered to him, tears still in her eyes. James turned back to him, a glare on his face. "Thierry doesnt want to talk to you right now. Come back in about an hour." He hissed before slamming his door close.

''I understand. I'll be at the party''

he turned around and walked back, seconds later folowed by Sally
she didn't say anything, but he could sense she was feeling sad for him and at the same time wanted to reprimand him for wearing his feelings on his sleeves. Sally thought a vampire should be void of emotions and feelings, at least that is what she tried to achive, or so she kept telling him and Edward

James sat Theirry on the floor and turned her around. He started undoing her dress and she leaned her head back, sighing. "You can leave and go find Evanna...I'm going to stay here and eat all the blood I can find." She said softly. James nodded, pulling the last strong out of its place and turnedaround. SHe heard the door shut seconds later. She let her dress fall to the floor and she stepped out of it, walking to a drawer with Evanna's clothes in it. She put on one of her night gowns, frowning at how much skin was showing. She just shrugged and walked over to the bed and laid down, curled in her little cat ball.

Sally was practicaly bursting to tell him whatever was on her mind right now but she respected him enough to keep her tongue, for now at least. He knew she would lay it all on him at one point

he thanked her for staying with him and she cursed under her breath for edward being good for nothing

he chuckled and sent her off again. Now 'where' was Edward

Thierry looked at the wall before closing her eyes. "Mar?" She thought to him, hoping he would hear it. After a few seconds, she gave up hope before crying agian.

he found Edward at the drinks surrounded by a couple of females, no Kiko though. he tolld him Sally would be on his case tonight and he whined for not knowing what he did wrong

he didn't enlighten him, he was still in the dog house for making them run late

he had left Edward to his admirers again and grabbed a drink and a bite.

a little while later a shiver ran over him, not an ordinary one but one like he used to get on occasion last year, it had been a while since he last had one of these
he wondered what caused them. maybe it was something in the drinks or in the food

Thierry sat up on the bed, hugging her knees to her chest. Maybe she should go back to the dance and not let her fun be ruin. Or she could go home to Luke and get hurt again. She stood up before pushing the noght gown off again. She slipped her dress back on and walked from the room, wiping he eyes.

the hour was close to being over and he was getting a little restless

should he go see her again or should he wait for her to come by and not pressure her
God, why did things always have to complicated. He had been trying to figure out how it could be that their link was not working like it should but he couldn't come up with anything logical

Thierry walked back into the dance room, her mask back in place. But this time, she had made her dress black, her hair dark brown, and her mask black. She didnt want to be seen by him and she didnt want him to notice her. Quietly, she walked back to her little corner, glaring at the not so good looking boy.

he just sat there lost in thoughts, fingering his empty glas without even realising it

somethign was wrong here. if the link wasn't working it meant someone had to be interfering with it. He didn't even know if and how it would be possible but it was the only conclusion he could come up with
It looked like he would be spending the next couple of days cooped up with books again

maybe Edward knew soemthing, he was an elder after all

Thierry watched Mar with sad eyes. She wanted to be by him, not Sally or whoever her name was. He was her sire, not anyone elses. She had the urge to go over there and make the girl move from her spot, the spot that belonged to Thierry and no one else but didnt make a move.

the whole dance thing was going by him at the moment, he didn't feel like it anyway. Come to think of it, he hadn't been asked by anyone in the last half hour or so. Maybe he was signaling his reluctance to dance at the moment, or maybe Sally had gotten word around to leave him be for now. she did things like that

he looked back in the direction of where her room was. Would he get to see her again tonight? Or would she dissapear again, like last time.

he let out a sigh and emptied his glas in one long swig

Thierry stood up and walked towards where Mar was. She hoped he didnt know who she was, she had worked hard to change her outfit and hair. Quietly, she stood infront of him before clearing her throat.

he was starting to contemplate on wether to get drunk or not when the clearing of a female throat brought him back.

he turned in his seat to politley decline, but when he laid eyes on the female before him something stopped him from sending her on her way

''yes?'' he heard himself aks
