Welcome to Dueling Room One. The room is large and open, with a wide glass door. The inside is sparsely furnished, and everything is painted a glaring white.

Each participant may post up to 6 times, but no double posting! Due to the quickness of this tournament, lots of points are up for grabs! Good luck and duel with honor!

(ITEMS: Orpheu's Lyre & Instant Darkness Powter)

Raistlin stepped into the dueling dwellings.

"Oh my... so much whiteness around this is not good for my eyes."

Withdrawing his wand and surveying the room with a waving moment Raistlin whispered "ESCURECER (Darkening in Portuguese)".

Suddenly like invisible painters were throwing buckets of black paint into the walls they started to darken all around until they were pitch black.

“Definitely better.” Raistlin commented.

Raistlin started to slowly pace the room until he was at its end. He was thinking of what to do. That ought to be a quick duel so he couldn’t scheme things too complex or time consuming, nor was the time to start experimenting new things so he ought to resort to things that have worked well in the past.

Also unlike in the past since now the disillusionment charmed had been approved one couldn’t become invisible anymore, even if one could it’d be illegal for those who were yet to pass their exams.

“It’s better if I just wait for an opponent then and deal with them when the time comes, just two things I must do first.”

First he had to cast a shield upon himself and there was only one he could trust to be both strong and reliable when in a hurry. Swirling his wand around himself he casted “反复思考血腥的钻石网 (Revolving Bloody Ice Diamonds Web)”. From the air small diamonds appeared around him and with a sudden movement they moved under his clothes and pierced into his skin, Raistlin couldn’t help out from letting out a small scream even though he was waiting for that. The process took about 5 minutes but now Raistlin had tiny moving diamonds on his skin. Diamonds are the hardest stones there is and one of the hardest materials in the world so it should give him a good protection. Also the movement would allow deflecting some more direct spells if he got hit.

One of the other things he had used in the past and which was still one of his favourite ways to fight was music.

Raistlin conjured a little stool and sit down. Then he took out a lyre. It was made of silver, with some gold ornaments, beautiful, not very big but it glittered with splendor. That was no ordinary lyre, it had been exposed to the light of the Lyra constellation protector of Orpheu, which in Greek Mythology was a Master of Lyre and could with it charm any beast to sleep. After some experiments Raistlin had found some really good attacks he could do with it.

Raistlin kissed the Lyre lightly and chanted

Bless, bless this instrument of yours
Give it your power
So that I can fulfill

When he finished the chant, Raistlin bended his head a little and covered it with his hood so his face was no longer visible. Quietly he whispered “That Merlin blesses whoever comes through that door” as a tear fell from his eyes and touched the lyre which began to glow after which Raistlin casted “死旅行セレナーデ (Death Trip Serenade in Japanese)” his hands found the lyre strings and a song filled the room.

As the soft notes spread Raistlin pictured in his mind the effects of the song. First legs get numb, a numbness which will climb up a body, then a feeling of sleepiness until one’d fell into a deep sleep, even if one’d cut out their hearing they’d still listen to the song, as the notes directly affect the brain waves. Raistlin could make the effects permanent or just to last a few days or hours.

Raistlin kept playing as tears fell down upon the lyre, it was the price he had to pay to use such powerful magic, a part of his soul died as he played the lyre but that was also reversible if he didn’t actually kill anyone which he wasn’t plan to anyway, he did not wanted to be disqualified this soon.

The corridor ended in a vast glass door that gave no hint to what was held within; all was dark. As Elana walked down the narrow corridor, she realized that her footsteps were not the only sounds. Soft music filled the air, and its melancholy tune made it recognizable - who else would play something so hauntingly beautiful, and on what most certainly sounded like a lyre? Rai had beaten her into the chamber.

Oh Ravenclaw, give me strength, Elana thought, trying to keep a shudder from running down her spine and failing. Why had she signed up for this again? She was so out of practice, so unprepared - surely she could, could, could just turn around and come back next year! Yes, yes, of course! But even as she turned her head towards the suddenly warm and inviting hall she had come from, Elana knew she had to follow through.

It's just nerves, she reminded herself, and perfectly natural, all things considered. Haven't done this in years. She gripped her wand more tightly in her hand, hexes and counter-jinxes speeding through her mind. To make herself feel a bit more comfortable, she said softly, "Ravenclaw ، ترغب طفلك من أجل حمايتك." (Ravenclaw, your child wishes for your protection.) She felt a warmth surround her briefly, a soft blue light encompassing her before seeping through her clothing into her skin. This, she had read in So, You're In Ravenclaw? Find Out What Rowena Can Do For You!, would give "mild to moderate protection to the mind along with sharpening wit, and assist with the deflection of minor spellwork." Not foolproof, but she knew it was a start, and there wasn't more she could do until finding out what Rai had in store for her and the other duelers.

Speaking of Rai...

"Guess I'd better get in there, then. But I would prefer being able to see when I'm there. اسمحوا لي بأن النور." (Let me see light.)

Elana stopped herself from looking back at the glowing other end of the tunnel and took a few steps forward, her nose practically touching the glass. She took a deep breath to steel herself, and pushed open the door.

Once she opened the door and stepped inside, the music became much louder to her ears. Spying a hooded figure with a lyre, she nodded; her suspicions had been correct. The room was no longer dark to her eyes, and so she was able to see his fingers working the strings...his blood-coated fingers...

"Good lord, Rai, what have you done to yourself?" she let out in a gasp, taking in the rivulets of blood trailing down his exposed skin. She made to take a step towards him, but found that her legs weren't below her anymore - at least, they might as well have been, the good they were doing her. It was like she had been sitting on the train for hours without moving - her legs were numb and wouldn't obey her. Well, this can't be good.

"الخطوة أطرافهم," she said. (Move limbs.) Her arms and legs began to jerk around madly, but to no avail - although her legs moved, she could not feel them. Or her stomach. Okay, okay, she thought, trying not to panic as her abdomen numbed, that didn't work, but there has to be something I can do...Hold on - the music!

"أنتقل إلى حجر," she cried, thankful that her lips and arms hadn't numbed yet. (Turn to stone.) Her wand was pointed at the lyre in Rai's hands; a satisfied smile flitted across her lips, but then Elana remembered - just because the music would surely be stopping now didn't mean she wouldn't be numb forever! C'mon, c'mon, THINK! She yawned.

Aw crud, Rai Rai. Really? You just, you just, you just had to make me tired too? Geeze!

There had to be a way for her to reverse the spell - she tried to cover another yawn with a hand, but her hand wouldn't move - a simple way to rever...

"عكس موجة," she mumbled. (Reverse spell.) She felt, she felt the feeling returning to her body, her limbs becoming hers again, almost instantly. Her foggy, sleepy brain was replaced with an alert and very much awake one, and Elana shook her finger at the cloaked Rai. "Tricky tricky, m'dear, bet you didn't think I'd get out of that one, eh? Well, here's one for you. Enjoy. عاصفة ثلجية في علبة." (Blizzard in a box.) An icy snow storm had sprung to life within a clear box around the Slytherin. "Have fun, honey," said Elana as her mind went to work on more spells of protection, seeing as the last hadn't been enough.

Raistlin observed the first victim… that is the first duller enter the room. It was Elana “This oughta be fun…” she was holding some kind of light “No liking the dark do we?”

Raistlin watched with pleasure as her movements become slower and drowsier but then with a sudden desperate air to it she cast a spell at him, no not at him it was directed at his lyre. Raistlin quickly put his diamonds covered hand in front of it to stop it, the spell hit it but seem to produce no effect “I wonder what was she trying to do to my lyre… it had no effect on my diamond stones… oh stone… clever.” Raistlin had momentarily stopped playing and while he let his thoughts wonder Elana had already recovered herself and casted a blizzard against him.

“Amateurs” Raistlin thought, control over element spells was one of his fields of expertise, that and mythology. Quickly Raistlin shouted “PROTEGO” it wasn’t a very effective protection but he only wanted it to last a few moments until he finished his charm which had worked perfectly with storms and hurricanes. The blizzard surrounded the shield and kept violently hitting it.

Raistlin knew the only way to fight some elements is to cause another element of the same density so both would annul each other he had presented a solution for this in one of the Charms lesson. Raistlin pointed the wand at the blizzard around him and he spelled “EXTRACTUM” (Extraction in Latin). A fine line of grey breeze unlocked itself from the blizzard towards his wand. Despite the small amount, the line contained the blizzard’s level of force. Now with the breeze line in the tip of his wand he started making soft swirling movements in a circle, his arm held way up high and completely stretched. Next he let go of his protego shied and the blizzard start to ravish him, but his trusty diamonds were getting most of the hits. While still doing that wand movement he started to chant:

“Matris Vis
Commodo , Succurro
Tantum vos , Matris of totus
Can gero
Ut quis i’m trying efficio
I’m pauper vos
Verto is vegrandis stenght
In a altus valde vis!”

(Mother Nature
Please, Help
Only you, Mother of all
Can give birth
To what I’m trying to do
I’m begging you
Turn this small strength
Into a high powerful force!)

Raistlin repeated the chant 3 times. The small breeze expanded around him and formed a blizzard just like the one where the breeze was extracted from. As both blizzards were of equal strengths they annulled each other. He looked at Elana with a smile on his face “Now after this small interruption shall we continue?”

“OBSCURUS GRAVITAS (Darkness Pressure in Latin)” Raistlin shouted suddenly. The spell was to cause the surrounding darkness to increase pressure like gravity, slowing down the movements of the duelers, and ultimately holding them to the ground. He hoped it’d buy him some good time until he finished his next enchantment.

Raistlin made a deep cut in his lip and let the blood poor on the lyre. As he did so the lyre gained a demonic purplish color for some seconds.

With the hand that was holding his wand Raistlin tapped the lyre and casted “Nocturne String!” the lyre began to play alone while he was still pouring blood.

As the song played string rays of light spread out of the lyre. This rays were powerful rays of concentrated energy human flesh was not made to endure that kind of energy it’d shred it apart.

Raistlin waited to see the rays spreading around the room. He noticed he was still bleeding from his lip so he pointed his wand to his lip and casted “Episkey!” He was having so much fun despite the frost marks he had all over in places his diamonds had not prevented the blizzard to touch him.
