Broken Glass (Erika + Steph)

Jona was disgusted by them all, but she kept a composed, but serious face to hide her feelings. To those who knew her- it was recognizable.
"She isn't from the street Hun she doesn't get It." A girl had said. These girls were ridiculous, and before she took pity on them she realized that they were somehow happy in the room, with the clothes on their backs and the stamps they wore. She hadn't wanted to know what the tattoo looked like, but she could see it. Everywhere. There was no hiding the brand. A heart, that seemed to be breaking in two and his letters. Jona forced herself to look away, closing her eyes wishing not to see anymore. How could she have been so foolish?

The blonde heaved a long, heavy sigh that sounded painful. She would do it for Zane. She did it for Zane, without thinking, foolish or not it was all for him. Slipping off her shirt she replaced it with the headband that only barely fit around her chest. Jona's brow twitched irritatingly, adjusting it.

Suddenly the door was pushed open, hitting the wall with a loud thud.
"Well well, doesn't she look stunning?" The man praised; Jona looked up a little startled, he smiled.
“Come to violate and degrade me some more?” She smiled back cynically.

Zane sat on the floor restlessly when a voice popped into his mind.
Zane what the bloody ell you were suppose to be here at 10 it almost 4... Did you run into him again... what’s the damage? Alice told him her voice getting less angry as she continued. Zane hit his head against the wall if only she knew.
Your wand Zane if you have it use it good luck. she told him unable to do anything about the situation. Zane reached in his pocket realizing they never took his wand away and he forgot about it. He felt guilty he could have fixed this save Jona without selling his sole he could have made this never happen and because of all that was going on around him he forgot about his wand.
"DARNET!" he screamed standing up and ready to punch the wall again when he looked at the injuries from the first time he did that. He flicked his wand and a whole appeared in the room he was so angry he didn't even care about the sirens wailing he just kept walking around his hand clenching the fragile stick in his hand.
"WHERE IS SHE?" he asked through the hollow halls as if his echo would answer him he wondered where everyone was but that thought didn't preoccupied to much of his time he was just glad they weren't after him. Soon he found the man and pushed his wand to the mans throut as hard as he could muster.
"Get away from her!" he growled his voice low and angry.
"Now remember are deals taking a step back." the man stated and Zane looked from him to Jona and then back at him.
"Step back!" he said more forceful and Zane did as told.
"Now sit down and shut up." he finished and slowly Zane sat down in the chair looking over at Jona with sorrow in his eyes. It was the same look you get from your dog after you yell no and they are sad only you can't do anything. The man walked over to Zane and raised his arm as if he was going to hit him and Zane flinched his head to the left. The man smiled then walked back over to Jona. Zane didn't look up he didn't want to see what he looked like taking orders from this creature.
"Men." the guy said and snapped his fingers. As he did so three men apeared two held his arms back and the third punched him in the gut till he started to spit out blood, but he didn't complain didn't make a noise because it could effect Jona. The man snapped again and the three men went back to doing who knows what. The man smirked and Zane let the blood dripp down his chin and didn't go to look at Jona.

(Woah accomplishment lol.)
"I'm not playing games little girl it's my business I have to keep it running and how else could I manage that?" he asked her placing his finger under Jonas chin.
"That’s not part of the deal just let her go now." Zane said through gritted teeth and slowly raised his wand it shaking slightly in his hand as he pointed it at the man.
"What are you going to do boy your too weak to even lift your arm!" the man spat and Zane looked out the small window to see the full moon start rising.
"Jona leave." he growled at her his voice shaking between his normal voice and a low roar. The man shot a look off into space and a few men jammed a potion down his throat.
"I don't think so see Zane I have your every move anticipated you can't beat me I know all your secrets and you don't know mine." he said and turned his attention to Jona.
"Lets make a deal Bambi I will let you be a nurse her fix up my men when they get injured and in return you won’t have to live like the rest of the girls in there deal?" he asked her and Zane glared.
"No Jona it's a trick just go you can..." he was cut off by the man.
"Shut up you fool!" he yelled and Zane did as told in fear for what would happen to Jona she just needed to decline and run and things would work out but she was to proud to do that she would stick with him which caused him worry.

"Yes sir." Zane mumbled to himself still looking down at his shoes.
"Excuse me what was that?" he asked Zane was aggravated.
"Yes sir!" he screamed through gritted teeth and the man smiled contently.
"That’s what I thought you said." he stated and walked away leaving Jona and Zane in the room alone. He placed his hand gently on her cheek lifting her face up so he could see her eyes. He shook his head at her as his eyes teared up.
Why would she do this she got nothing out of it and now she has dug herself deeper into a hole. He bit his lip and looked away letting go of Jona he couldn't bear to face what he had gotten her into. He looked at his hand that was crunched it throbbed with pain and he tried to hold it back but the pain was terrible onto of all of the other damage that had been done. He probably had several broken ribs a broken hand and nose along with who knows what else.

Zane shook his head no she would get out but the chances of him getting out was doubtful. He rolled up his sleeve to reveal the painful scar that was now bleeding in certain places. His eyes were sad.

once in it always in it. he thought not even thinking that Jona could read his mind. He winced when Jona kissed him but it was a good pain it was better than just being in pain without her. He lifted his hand could Jona even fix anything because if she couldn't he doubted she would last long here.

Zane remember how I got you out of there the first time all you have to do is gain trust first but that might take longer this time and even so he might only let you and Jona go places at separate times so you have to sort out your priorities. Alice told him in his mind he already had everything sorted out Jona before him it was the only way she needed to see her family he didn't she was depended on he wasn't it made logical sense.

Zane nodded Alice knew about everything she knew about all of this she knew what this company was about she knew he was probably stuck in this situation right now she knew all right. He bit his lip as it started to bleed from the pressure but this didn't make much of a difference it was hardly noticeable. He turned his head slowly to look around the room. He had flash backs.

"Your family is starving face it you need help and I can give it to you." the man had said his hair dark brown in Zane’s memory had age or stressed caused the man look old?
"Ok well the problem is... won’t it be suspicious?" Zane asked he was just a kid back then probably around the age of 15 or 14 he didn't understand what was going on not truly.
"No this is what my company does don't worry about it..." Zane shook his head as if it would cause the memory to disappear and as much as he wanted all of them to they just came flooding back at one point or another. He looked at Jona he loved her and he couldn't let anything happen to her nothing. He attempted to stand up but he barely managed this simple task he was too weak to pick a fight with this man or even run away which he felt was the man’s plan in bloodying him up and he knew Jona wouldn't leave with him unable to leave.

Zane shook his head no he had nothing to do running wouldn't do anything clearly that wouldn't help it didn't last time. He hear young screams echo through the hall where he sat.

They have a new member. he thought you could tell he was new because you don't scream unless you are shooting a spell in the air rapidly or you are cursing someone out that was rule number one. He bit his lip remembering when he was like that young naive ready for anything and not sure what he was getting into.

"Zane!" a voice yelled he wasn't given enough time they should have had more time alone now they were going to be torn apart again now.

"Yes sir." he replied back he voice soar and raspy from not speaking.

"Come here I have your job for you." the man stated and Zane pushed himself up limping over to the man where a young boy stood beside him rubbing his shoulder

You are his mentor." he exclaimed and the boy looked at him and chimed in.

"What happened to you?" the man gave him a look that said lie or else and Zane swallowed hard.

"I um flew my broom into a building." Zane stated he saw his reflection in this boy and it killed him to see another guy getting sucked in to this scam.

Zanes heart sunk he realized Jona had done this for him but as he watched her she realized what their life would be. This was the lie they were going to have to live, was this there new life together fighting for survival every second as they desperately tried to save each other but neither would leave by their self. He gave a smile at the boy and restrained any form of sound that would indicate pain. The boy was too distracted by Jona any way I mean how could you not she was basically half naked blonde and gorgeous due to her vampire genes increasing her beauty. Zane felt sick watching the man touch her and then as she gave the man a kiss on the cheek he wanted to attack this man that had caused so much pain. The man smirked and shooed the boy away and he did as instructed walking down the hall way. When he had walked far enough they could no longer see him the man turned to the two of them.
"Great acting bravo." he said sinisterly.
"You my dear were great." he stated kissing her on the cheek. There was a half scream for help and a loud thud. The man looked over his shoulder but a spell came and stunned him as he fell to the floor.
"Hey guys I know you want to thank me but we need to get out of here those spells won’t last forever." Alice stated. Zane looked over to her she had a cut on her cheek that looked pretty bad but it started healing slowly.
"Alice we can't keep running." he told her it didn't work last time.
"I know that but we will come up with a plan once we get out of here... Your to week to apperate." she said but Zane disagreed.
"I... I am ok let’s get out." Alice nodded and took Zane by the arm and Jonas hand. Turning on her heals and apperating to her house. To Zane everything went dark and the voices blurred together soon he couldn't see anything the last thing he saw was Alice going towards him but everything disappeared.
"Zane!" Alice cried out catching him before he hit the floor. She picked him in and placed him on the couch.

"Ya he will be ok once he gets some medical attention I can't believe he lasted this long without anything." she said looking down at him examining his wounds but she turned around and looked at Jona. Her eyes grew the size of dinner plates.
"Jona what the h e double hockey sticks are you wearing?" she asked shocked she was basically topless. She threw a nearby sweater at her.
"Please cover up." she stated looking at Zanes nose.
"Ya this is my place newly redecorated." she stated furrowing her brow they were in deep.
"We need to get him to saint mungos and fast I am afraid I don't have everything to treat him here and I’m afraid he is bloodied up pretty bad... are you ok? You should probably get checked out while we are there it seems like you all had a tough night what exactly happened?" Alice walked towards the cabinet and grabbed a wash cloth and when she turned around she saw Jonas little tattoo.
"What is that!? Oh please don't tell me that those are his initials please tell me that it doesn't match Zane's scar!" she pleaded with Jona as if her doing this would change what had happened. She sat on the floor excepting what had happened.

Alice turned around showing her back to Jona as she wet the wash cloth and placed it on Zanes forehead. He was burning up even for him.
"Of course not you’re right it's just his brand." She said skeptical of it.
"You can't blame me for being worked up you all were missing for a while and well it was very hard to find you which makes me wonder what else he has up his sleeve." she stated looking over at Jona she doubted Zane would let anything bad happen to her and by the way he looked he sure did protect her.
"What..." she paused it would be a sensitive topic but she dived back in.
"Jona what happened when you were in there... what did he do?" she asked curious as Zane mumbled and groaned.
"Jona." He groaned and winced.
"Poor thing." Alice said looking down with him he was in a lot of pain and she could tell how it felt.

Alice bit her lip not looking over at Jona. She pulled her hair behind her ear looking down at the floor.
"I’m not very confident Jona this man... he... could have done a number of things he may even know where we are right now. Jona you need to explain to me with as much detail as possible as to what happened." she told Jona biting her lip to keep her from talking too much.

Zane although he was passed out was having the strangest dreams it may have been from his fever but it also could have been completely unrelated.

"Jona" he screamed trying to reach for her but it was like walking in place he wasn't getting anywhere. And there he was the man at first but then he turned into Demetri who took her in his arms.
"Come on sweet heart let’s leave this dog to scratch his flees." Demetri said and Jona smiled kissing him on the cheek. The scene changed to his family starving begging for spare change on the streets his younger sister coughing and clearly ill like in an old British movie. The scene changed for the last time to show Alice's grave in a graveyard and as much as he wanted to wake up he couldn't. he stirred on the couch frantically.

"We need to take him to..." she froze she hated Saint Mungos but they had no other option.
"We have to take him to Saint Mungos and now he needs help." she stated getting closer to him ready to pick him up. He woke up with a start out of breath and grasping for air which Alice thought was odd he had passed out he shouldn't have woken up. he took the color of her shirt in his fist.
"Take me back!" he said through gritted teath.
"No Zane I am not taking you back there and not in this condition... I can solve everything." she stated back and he released her shirt.
"But the deal... Jona." he mumbled as he gave in to his weakness and was consumed with darkness again. Alice felt his forehead.
"He is getting worse help me." she told Jona looking over to her, her eyes a dark color.

"Jona they know where we are by now they could be on their way right now they could be outside that door... even if I could fix everything here we would have to move him anyway for both of your safety." she paused looking around pacing back and forth. There was a loud banging on the door followed by muffled commands.
"Jona NO! This is the only way... give me your clothes." she stated and could see the skepticism in her eyes.

"Go on strip down." Alice commanded looking back at Zane who stirred in his sleep.
"Listen take him to Mungos tell them to place enchantments around his room and have him get help." She instructed Jona and the thumping on the door got louder.
"Open up miss!" they commanded and Alice’s worried eyes turned urgent as she looked at Jona.

"One moment I’m afraid." she called out signing for Jona to hurry up.
"This is a timely matter!" they insisted but Alice continued scrambling.
"Zane you and Jona will be safe..." she swallowed tears "I will be there when you wake up." she told him grabbing a pen and quickly drawing the same tattoo that Jona had on her back.
"Give me your clothes then leave... you can wear this." she stated pulling her wand out and placing a charm on her hair changing it to a blonde color unlike her normal dark color. It looked rather odd at first but soon it seemed to adjust to her skin tone. She threw a robe at Jona.
"Now!" she begged tapping her foot against the wooden floor.

Alice shot Jona a look when she tried to argue and slipped her clothes on before opening the door they stormed in and reached for Jona.

"Who was that?" one of them asked pinning her against the wall pressing the piece of wood against her throat making it hard for her to swallow.

"My Aunt she needed to leave she um... isn't all there shouldn't be allowed to apperate who knows where she could have gone." she stated confidently she was good at coming up with stories keeping them believable was that hard part.

"Who are you?" he asked as the rest of them men looked through everything in her house but she tried not to notice it all and focus on the single mans question.
"Jona Lene." their faces turned pale and he turned her around looking at the makeshift tattoo. They started looking through the house more urgently.

"Where is Zane?" he asked his voice suddenly harsh and demanding as he pushed harder against her shoulder into the wall.

"He isn't here he is at Hogwarts he is a student after all." she told him and the man slapped her across the face. This is where the man who led this operation walked in.
"Now let’s not be rude to her." he stated and a chill ran down Alice's spin when her father gave her that wicked smile and she waited what was to come. He moved the boy out of the way and lifted her chin up towards the light.

"How do you know this is her?" he asked and dropped his hand to his side. The boy shook and fumbled with his words as he spoke to the man.

"She said so and she had the mark she must be one of yours." he finally stuttered out. The man got closer and whispered in her ear: "You want to be part of this I will make you part of this." he stated and commanded the others to get her and they did grabbing her wrist and dragging her out with them. He kicked the back of her knees causing her to collapse onto the floor.

"You are going to take us to them... Alice." he stated and she took a deep breath clearly her costume didn't work.

"How did you..." she was cut off by a shriek from inside their flying vehicle.

Meanwhile at Saint Mungos:

Two nurses scrambled over to their aid.
"Separate them!" one commanded looking at each of their wounds. Zane still twitched dizzily unaware of what was going on. He opened his eyes and the blurs buzzed in his vision and he fluttered them close again.

"Please keep me ...with her." he mumbled and the nurses looked at each other confused about what to do next, two wizards had apperate here one nearly dead and the other splinched and they knew neither of their names and had no information on them. The two ladies seemed clueless on what was to come next.

They lifted Zane onto a stretcher to carry him to another room. He was out cold limply laying on it. If someone didn't know better they would think he was dead but was clearly alive as his chest moved up and down rapidly. The nurse felt his head and nearly burnt it. It didn't make any sense but they couldn't correctly examine here and now. They moved him into a room and lifted him onto the bed. The nurse ripped his bloody tee shirt off along with his pants leaving him in his boxers. Nearly every angle of his body was covered in a scratch or bruise or broken bone he was really banged up.

"Hey doctor come look at this." the nurse said turning him onto his side to show the initials carved into his arm.
"Do these look like letters to you?" she asked and the doctor nodded biting his lip. In thought. The nurse continued to examine Zane’s injury and seemed shocked about them all.

Down where Jona was more staff members where addressing her.
"Hun I realize it hurts but can you tells us you and your friend’s name? And if you can what happened it would help us tremendously." the women stated as they moved her to another room for care but it wasn't even close to Zane's room clearly ignoring his plead.

At this point they had asked Alice repetitively where they where and every time she gave them the same response.
"Where are they?" one of the men asked it could have been the one who pinned her against the wall but she couldn't tell.

"I told you already... they are at Hogwarts have fun storming the castle." of course they didn't like this response and striked her against the face.
"You know the holiday is almost over there should be students arriving any minute now and then it will get harder to find them." she added and the boy lifted his hand to hit her again only the man stepped in.

"We can always make you tell." he said and she looked into his eyes.
Turn around and walk away... Turn around and walk away! she thought harshly in his head using a decent amount of energy. It worked however he turned around and started walking in the other direction. The rest of his followers looked confused and followed after him who gave her a chance to escape and she sprinted off. Alice couldn't apperate for getting the man to walk away took too much energy so she ran as fast as she could.

A raging pulse beat down her arm, blood spewed. The hole in her hand was a pool of red, the nurse doused it with a clear liquid, single droplets rolled down her forearm burning new skin in crossing lines. Jona panted, her chest rising and falling quickly.
"Where i- he?" Jona squinted, seeing past the bright white lights hanging above her. "Wha-"
A doctor rushed past her following the stretcher and a door slammed in the next hall.
"I ave to be-e with im!" Shouts were called and the nurse left. Jona gritted her teeth clenching her right hand and banging it once the polished tile floor. "Come b-back ere and listen to me!"
She didn't appreciate the staff ignoring her. Where was he? She hoped he was fine after apparating. She feared he was splintched too, it could injure him further or possibly kill him. For Jona, the pain was unbearably hard, her hand felt as if it were on fire and her skin burned as it reformed, she imagined smoke clouding the clean white hallway. She wondered another thing, why was she left lying limp in the middle of a hall? Am I the only one noticing this? She wondered. Was there anyone else lying on the floor?
"Are you this unsorted that you leave patients lying helplessly in the hallway to be stepped on!" She shouted in a very long painful breath.
"Please, I want to be with im!" She pleaded. Several men and woman came back addressing her directly. The same nurse leaned over her looking her directly in the eyes.
"Hun I realize it hurts but can you tells us you and your friend’s name? And if you can, what happened it would help us tremendously."
The searing pain in her arm and hand had numbed, but she could still not move an inch from where she lay- but more calmly than before she spoke drawing in a long breath that was painless. "My name is not important."
An nurse standing up had her nails dug into a clip board with few papers clipped too it. They hadn't found any papers on them by just their descriptions.
"Cassa!" She complained standing next to the woman over Jona.
"We can't use it for everything Lily."
"She won't tell us her name! What makes you think she'll tell us what happened?"
Jona snapped glaring at the nurse who interrupted, "You didn't let me finish!"
"Could you tell us the young man's name you were with?"
"Zane Mackovey" Jona said. She exhaled and inhaled deeply. Cassa nodded a 'Thank you' and left to run the name through. She was going to be crude in saying it but she would, “I will see him now, if you won’t let me see him I will sue.” Someone snorted. She had more to use against Saint Mungoes than they knew. Alice had provided her enough information for prosecution if necessary. About twenty years worth.
"The woman’s nuts...” A man said his surgeon friend joined the group who spoke unprofessionally.
"Were they in the middle of something when the pair arrived?" He looked her up and down, trying not to make it obvious what he thought about her get-up.
Lily put her face in her palm.
"Unprofessionalism, disrespectful treatment" Jona listed.

She sprinted her shoes quickly falling off. They couldn't catch up with her they never would be able to catch up to her no matter how hard they ran but she knew she couldn't keep them at bay for long where would she go? She couldn't go to saint mungos it would lead them straight towards Zane and Jona.

Protection ask for the protection charms around his room Jona this is in the utmost importance. she told Jona through her mind knowing by know she would have forgotten this little detail. A spell hit her in the small of her back and she fell to the floor giving them enough time to catch up. A man pulled her up by her hair pulling her head back as another poured a liquid down her through.

"Where are they?" the men asked and she forced to say what she knew.
"I don't know." she stated in-between puffs of air.
"Where did you tell them to go?!" the yelled and she tried to restrain herself biting down on her tongue. "Huh!?" they insisted and she couldn't hold the words in any more.

"S... saint... mungos." she blurted out and he pushed her back into the mud.
"Good girl." they exclaimed and started to walk away. She reached for her wand but once she grasped it the leader of this group kicked it out of her hand.
"Now darling I have a little role for you to play." he stated pointing his wand at her changing her appearance.

"F you!" she snarled and he picked her up by the elbow.
"We are going to saint mungos and I need your help so what do you say?" he asked his breath smelling of garlic, she turned away disgusted with the man.

"I’d rather you cut each of my limb of slowly with a pair of safety scissors." she spat spitting in his face. he tightened his grip on her she was now in a pair of pin striped trousers and a blouse her hair pulled up in a curly bun and he looked younger much younger and a pair of tan pants and a button up blue shirt.

"We can arrange that but I guess if you won’t cooperate I will make you." he stated pulling his wand out and casting the imperious curse on her. He turned on his heels and the apperate in front of the hospital.

Inside the nurse looked at Jona concerned.
"Check for head injury take her to room 101 I think there is an open bed there." she stated and the other one came back with papers in her hand. Found the boys files turns out this is far from his first time here don't see how this boy keeps getting so bloodied up." she stated and left to give the notes to his doctor.

"Hun you can see him when you are better the last thing we need is to deal with whatever relationship you two have." she said and Alice and the man walked in. The nurse looked over to them.
"Can I help you?" she asked and Alice nodded on command.

"Are daughter Jona lene she apperate with her adopted brother who got in a huge accident with a cursed broom can we see them?" she asked in a fake voice followed by a fake smile. No one was still alive from when she worked here so there was no hope for anyone noticing her except for Jona and Alice hoped that Jona caught onto what was happening and made a scene of it.
"What are your names you will have to sign in." she said handing them a clip board and then looked over at Jona.

"Is this your daughter?" she asked and the man walked over to her.
"Oh thank goodness how badly is she hurt?" he asked now at Jona's side.
"well not to badly we are going to have to check a few things though you know typical behavior your boy however might be here for a few days." she stated and Alice bit her lip if she spoke out she would be forced to spill out more lies so she remained silent.


"Can we see him?" she asked and the nurse shook her head.
"Sorry we need to finish the examination and start treating him before he can have visitors but you can stay with your daughter here." she stated politely and the nodded. Alice wished that Jona did something anything because she was helpless at this point.

Alice caught the wand that was Jonas and slid it into her pocket before anyone noticed it not even the man that hung onto her.

"Misses and Mister Lene I believe it was please follow Me." the nurse said as they moved Jona into another room.
"What happened to her?" Alice asked sincerely concerned for Jona but was still forced to continue this act.

"Well she splinched and then passed out other than that we don't know she won’t tell us anything else... she said she would sue us and that she wanted to be with him and that’s It." the nurse explained. The man wrapped his hand around her shoulders pulling her in tightly. Alice wanted to push away but was forced to stay put.

"We found this tattoo did you all know about this?" she asked and the man nodded silencing Alice.
"She is a daddy’s girl and went and got a tattoo with my initials on it a real sweat heart." he said and Alice gave a fake smile if he wasn't so twisted she would admit he was handsome.

"She is a vampire it should be finished healing soon." Alice stated looking at the pink color to her flesh "there is no use checking for head injury if there was anything serious she would be disoriented but she isn't so if there was it is no longer there." Alice spilled out and the man shot her a glance and with a flick of his wand silenced her until he felt merciful.
