Slytherin Common Room

Bella walked into the Slytherin common room, wearing a tight, lowcut black singlet and the shortest of denim mini-skirts. She collapsed into one of the comfortable arm chairs by the fire and sighed. Bella looked around at the empty common room, somewhat bored. She ran her fingers through her blonde hair before resting her head back into the comfortable sofa. Bella sighed again, making a mental note to pick up some sparkly gold eyeliner whenever she next got the chance. It would look amazing with her new gold mini dress.

Bella looked up as another Slytherin entered the commonroom. She quickly collapsed into a comfy chair and pulled out a book.

''Hey'', Bella smiled at her. ''What are you reading?'' She asked politely, with the slightest of French accents.

Bella hated reading, so it was a total mystry to her why so many people here seemed to have a multiple number of books surgically-attatched to their arms. Must be an English thing, Bella thought.

''Oh wow!'' Bella said. The book sounded pretty interesting. ''Can you actually make the potions though?'' Bella asked. She didnt mean to sound rude or anything, but Bella thought it would be pretty awesome if the other girl could. Bella herself was completely lousy at potion-making. She had destroyed countless caldrons in her disasterous attempts.

''Emmalyn Snape'', Bella repeated as she shook the girls hand. ''I'm Bella. Bella Bryant''.

Bella looked up as the common room door opened to reveal a couple. The male spoke in a deep accent that was also European but alot heavier than Bella's. Looks like I'm not the only one a long way from home, Bella thought to herself.

The pair looked pretty wrapped up in each other, aswell as some book they were reading, so Bella said nothing, not wanting to interupt. She smiled hesitantly at them though.

Emmalynn grinned at the other girl. "Yeah, most of them," she said proudly. She wasn't concieted or anything, but she was proud at her level of her favorite subject.

"I can make all the ones that don't take more than a day to brew, and most of the ones that take more than a day, but while I'm in school, I just don't have the time..." she said, looking at her page sadly. She really, really wanted to brew the potion on the page: Felix Felicis, but it took almost two weeks and needed constant supervision at most parts. "My... father started teaching me to brew as soon as I could understand how to use the scales..."

''Wow!'' Bella smiled, clearly impressed. SHe was completely rubbish at potions, well at most of her lessons to be honest, and barely survived a potions class with all her belonging intact, as opposed to burnt or otherwise deformed by spilled attempts at potions. ''Honestly, I can barely use the scales now...'' Bella admitted. She definatley knew what Emmalyn meant about not having any time though. She had been at Hogwarts for at least a couple of weeks now, but had barely done anything!

Bella smiled as Emmalyn started talking about potions. Bella could tell she really loved it, and was super dedicated. Bella stopped as Emmalyns question took her off gaurd. Bella tilted her head slightly to the left and twirled a pice of her blonde hair round her finger, like she always did when she was thinking or concentrating. Hmm... What was her best subject? Bella tried to think, but was drawing blanks. ''Umm Charms, I guess...'' Bella said at last, ''Its the only one I'm not currently failing'', Bella admited with a little smile.

Emmalynn smiled comfortingly at the other girl.

"That's okay, though. You're new, right? So you're still getting used to everything around here," she said, remembering her first few weeks in the castle. She had managed to get lost at least once a day and landed herself detention on the third day of classes. "I you want, I could help you with stuff..." she offered. "Especially potions!" She laughed. "And I know others who wouldn't mind helping you in the subjects that I'm not good at. Here at Hogwarts, there's almost always someone to help you... Wow, that sounded cheezy..."

Bella smiled at Emmalyn, she wasnt really that upset about not doing that well in classes. Most of the time she rarely bothered anyhow, but Bella figured some help couldnt hurt. ''That'd be great, thanks'', She replied. Bella laughed. ''Thats probably one of the cheesy-est things I've heard about this place'', Bella agreed, ''You could do commercials with stuff like that''. ALthough she joked about it, Bella could tell Emmalyn was kinda serious too, and that was comforting.

Bella laughed and pionted to herself, ''Pretty sure i make up one of those five idiots...'' She smiled. ''And, ummmmmm... potions. Right well...'' Bella tried to rack her brain to figure out what they were studying in potions. She was completely out at sea. ''Wow, umm I guess I dont know'', she said honestly, ''I er, dont always pay that uch attention''. Bella smiled at her own stupidity, sometimes she was just so out of it all.
