The Diary of Anne Frank

Has anyone read this? I thought it was a really touching story - brought tears to my eyes and - I DO NOT CRY! lol

I've read it, yes its a most sad story and some of the pictures in the special addition are very disturbing.
When we read these things, we learn.
We learn how cruel our world was and is.

I read it a few years ago. I'm Jewish, so it meant a lot to read it and see what a girl, only a few years older than I was, and around my age now, experienced during the Holocost. Of course, I cried many times while reading it. Books like that...well, the scary part about them is that they're real. You go in knowing that she dies only two months before the end of the war, dies just before she could have survived. And yet, she still was able to see the good in people. That's what really touched me, and has inspired me to see good, to search for it, in everyone I know up to this day.

i read it in seventh grade...it was....okay...idk i prefer fictional books though

i thought it this book did give a great insight into the perals of living as a jew under the nazis. i agree completely with what you said elana about it being real...it's hard to grasp really.

I read it 5 years ago I think, and even though I found it a bit hard to get started, it's really a touching and sad, so sad story!

I read a bit of it though i thought it was too in depth for me. I like books where it doesnt have too much sad emotion - sirius and dumbledore dying in harry potter was enough for me lol

this is one i actually read and enjoyed. I started reading it at school but then couldnt put it down

I read the play and the book of the diary. It is a very emotional book, especially when you think that this actually happened.

I read this in 8th grade. It was such a sad book. I cried with a few others.

This was a great book. I had to read it in my freshman year and I am glad that I did. I can't believe all the stuff the people had to go through back then. Truly disgusting.

I'm half-jewish, so like Elana, it was really touching for me. I agree, it was hard to get started, but once I did I loved it. I have the special edition so It has alot more in it than just the diary. I loved it, It was really touching, plus I love learning about the holucust, even if it was a terrible time. I read it and I love it. I really feel sorry for what happened to Anne Frank and her family. I hope that they find the one who revealed their hideout so they can be brought to justice.

i imagine that those who did reveal the hide out have long since past away.

a friend of ours who was 16 in england at the time of very close to passing away as it is. it's sad.

but at least there were the trials that brought some of the main leaders to justice.

I remember reading this in Middle School.

It made me cry a little.

I still loved it though, just to think about the things that went on over there...

this was really one sad book - but how beautiful! I truly admire Anne for the courage she has shown throughout those years in hiding! You know, she says it herself, but it's really impressive how much more mature the experience makes her!

I read the play in 7th grade and I loved it. I cried becasue I am so emotional I cry ofr almost anybook or movie.. seriously! I crie din Lilo and Stitch. lol. But it was really sad and really well writen.

I read this once and it was so sad but so inspiring. I dont think I would read it again, though, as it is very drawn out and too emotional a read.

This book is on my book list....the books I plan to read in the next two years...lol...I do that kind of thing. I sort of need to get a life don't I?

I read a similar book though...the boy in stripped pyjamas. AMAZING....but soooooo sad too.
