Challenge Fic number 2 - Dribble Drabble - CLOSED

To test your writing skills, this challenge from Duck the Duck, is the second writers fic challenge in the Hogwarts Experience!

What is a drabble?

Quote :

A fan fiction that is self contained and is no more than 100 hundred words. A half drabble is a fan fiction of 50 words and a double drabble is a fan fiction of 200 words.

Rules:

We are doing a drabble, which means you have to write a fic which is EXACTLY 100 words. (any more or less will not place in the first second or third)

It must be of angst in genre

It can be about whichever characters you wish.

Hermione's Death


A cry escaped the lips of Ginny Weasley as she saw Hermione Granger get hit with a certain spell. The girls red hair jerked as she ran towards the fallen bushy haired girl’s side.

“Ginny…go find Harry,” whispered Hermione, her eyes wide.

“I don’t know where he is, last time I saw him he and Ron went after Snape,” cried Ginny, covering her mouth with her muddy hands.

“Were they going to kill him?”

“I th-think so,” said Ginny, watching Hermione gasp once more. “Don’t die Hermione, Harry and Ron will need you!”

“Goodbye Ginny,” whispered Hermione, giving into death.

"Lily you must stay here, I'll be fine" James said and grabbed her face in his hands and kissed her forehead.
Harry gurgled, little did he know that was going to be the last time he would ever see his father again.
She could then hear him running down the stairs, she clutched Harry tightly then she heard his voice gasp. A green light splayed the wall near the bedroom door. She uttered a silent scream and waited, for him to come. She held him, she let him go softly and took one last look into his little green eyes

Sorry

Harry held Pansy’s hand , looking down at her with his eyes swelling up,” Pansy, hold on, don’t let go, don’t let go..” he whispered.

“I’m sorry…I’m sorry for...” Pansy mumbled softly with her voice broken.

“ Sorry for what? Sorry for being my FRIEND?!” Harry yelled , gripping onto her hand tightly, never wanting to let go.

Silent tears ran down Pansy’s cheeks as she gave him a weak smile,” Harry…tell Draco…sorry…” she closed her eyes and her smile faded away.

Harry held her lifeless body in his arms, crying madly with rain falling from the pitch black sky





Candy

Invincible

"Avada Kedavra!"

Draco Malfoy laughed softly as his victim fell to the ground. "Dear, dear Potter," he said maliciously, as if the dead Harry could hear his words, "I always knew I would be the one to get rid of you."

He stepped over to the body and knelt down beside it, staring intently into the vacant eyes. "It’s rather funny, isn’t it? You thought that Voldemort was the only one capable of killing you." He chuckled. "How incredibly stupid of you."

He brushed back Harry’s hair, revealing the famous lightning bolt scar. "Not so invincible now, are we, Potter?"

~~Last Kiss~~

Hermione spun around to see Draco Malfoy.
"Hello Mudblood." he sneered venomously.
"Draco,why did you kill them?" she asked as her eyes watered.
"I had to." he snapped. "And you shouldn't have come."
"I'm sorry." she said quietly. "But the battle is over now."
"Yes."
"I still love you, Draco. Do you still love me?"
"Come here." he said, leaning towards her.
She closed her eyes as his soft lips touched hers.
The he pulled out his wand and pointed it at her. "Avada Kedavra!" he sneered.
Hermione's body fell to the ground.
"Farewell, my dear Mudblood." he sneered.

I'm not too good with angst, I prefer humour...but I gave this a go.

Forever

It was raining.

It was always raining there.

And it was cold.

Sirius was always so very cold.

In the month that he’d been there, he’d been lonely. Lonelier than he’d ever been in his life. James was dead. Lily was dead. Peter had betrayed them. Remus had no one left.

The Dementors were the worst part. Marching up and down outside the cell, sucking the life out of the prisoners. Sirius’ only escape was Padfoot.

Things were simpler as Padfoot. The rotten food they were served tasted better, the days seemed shorter.

Was this the end?

Forever in Azkaban.

Trapped in a moment

Outside, the rain was falling. On the inside, two things were falling. Tears, and Ron. He was falling apart.

Standing there, fighting on Harry's side, seeing Harrys smile as Draco Malfoy sent a jet of green light towards a bushy haired girl. Harry didn't smile because she was dead, he smiled because the war was over, because they were free.

He was foolish. Of course they weren't free. They would never be free, Ron would never be free. The memory of a friend, a person more than a friend, falling limply to the wet grass would always keep him prison.




(I didn't use the word counter, but I'm sure it's 100 words.)

Lost

The rain splashed off his heartbroken body as he ran through the deserted streets. He couldn’t believe it, his heart was numb, his soul was broken. He was lost in a world of grief.

He raced through the events in his mind, tears streamed down his pale face, his life was upside down, he couldn’t think straight. He was confused, scared, alone and afraid. How could he have stopped this terrible thing from happening?

“Oh Ginny, I’m sorry!” He screamed as he fell onto the pavement, into a puddle. His world has ended. Harry Potter had loved and lost, again.

A/N: Just so you know... I'm not an angsty person...

Leave Me Be

She was no longer herself. Even the once vivacious red hair was, to the untrained eye, turning a slight dull brown colour. The delicate snow fell coldly on her pale skin, wrapped in strong, warm arms.

The tears fell, one by one, trailing warm paths of loneliness down her cheeks. There was no going back, no other chance of being what they once used to be.

She looked up at those emerald eyes, pain and suffering emanating from them. She couldn’t take it any more. Heck, even he couldn’t take it anymore.

Closing her eyes, she turned.

“Leave me be.”

The Grave Beginnings

The dark ebony of the night was suffocating. Harry’s breaths came out in short rasps in a swirling mist against the cold night air. An unexpected yell escaped his lips, and he kicked the gravestone in frustration.

“It’s not bloody fair!” He struck the gravestone again and fell to his knees, defeated.

He broke into uncontrollable sobs. He couldn’t think of ever shedding a tear about his parents before.

His tears flowed more rapidly, and he couldn’t stop. A gentle hand came to rest on his shoulder. He turned his tear-stained face upwards and saw Ginny, he still had her.

Goodbye

Harry gazed into Ginny’s eyes as she struggled for breath on the hard floor of the empty Great Hall

“Harry, you’ve got to be strong, you must defeat Voldemort!” Ginny’s voice echoed around the Hall,

“Shh,” Harry put a finger to his lips; tears welled up in Ginny’s eyes, “I know what I must do,”

“I don’t want to die,” Ginny whispered. Harry fought back the tears; he must be strong, for Ginny, “Don’t let me go!”

“I won’t,” Harry murmured, he bent low over Ginny, he felt her warm lips against his and felt life drain out of them.

This was hard, first of all I kept wanting to explain everything! and then I dont write much angsty stuff...so it was a first. Hope its not to bad!
Also I dont have word count..so I counted them myself..if I'm off...someone please tell me!!


Ginny Weasley sat on her bed, her knees brought up to her chest, as she stared out her window. More tears slipped down her cheeks as she thought about what she had to do.
Everything was different, everyone was different. The wizading world was doomed and Ginny knew what she had to do. Even if she died, she had to kill him. It was going to be very hard but she had to. She had to kill him, he chose to join voldemort, he left her. Harry had to die.

Why?

Ginny was sitting at her desk with tears in her eyes. In frent of her, there was a diary. It said:
"Dear diary:
I can't take this anymore. Harry's gone. Only now I realize that. Hermione crys all the time and Ron doesn't say anything, hugging her and looking to... nothing, actually. I can't accept it. Finally he noticed me... We were together... His kisses were.. so sweet... to think I'll never kiss him again... I'll never feel his sweet and gentle hands holding mines... Why did he had to die? why did he had to leave me alone? Why?..."

The New Light

Hermione Granger sat under the speckled sun, her tear stained face illuminating under the bright sky as she fought against the tiny sobs that were beginning to escape her dry lips.

She could hear the distant laughter, the joyful celebration of the coming of the light, yet her heart screamed out in anger. How could they be happy? How could they be so selfish?

“Why?” She cried as her fingers traced the fine lines of the hard granite gravestone, before she lay a tear-stained red rose down.

Coming for you

Tonks was lying on the ground. The night was scary and the clouds were dark. Cold rain was falling on the earth, colliding with her painful body. She couldn’t look around. She couldn’t move.

How she had come there? What had happened? She couldn’t remember. Ever since the war had ended, ever since Remus’ death, everything was a blur. And now she was lying on his grave. On hers.

Her breath became slower. Air didn’t reach her lung anymore. Her heart gave his final beat. A sweet smile lightened her face and her eyes closed.

“Wait for me, I’m coming.”

She'd Never Know

Her lips crashed onto his and he wrapped his arms around her as Harry watched from a distance. Tears formed in his eyes and he looked at the ground, silently letting them fall.

She'd never know how he always watched her, and admired her from afar. She'd never know how when he saw her he watched her for as long as he could until she dissapeared.

She'd never know this because she loved Draco Malfoy, and it was never meant to be. She'd never know what pained his tortured heart. Pansy Parkinson would never know that Harry Potter loved her.

Final Reconciliation


At last it was over. The final conflict had taken place, evil had been vanquished and now, at least theoretically, all was well with the world.

Of course, there had been a price. Although Ron and Ginny had survived, there were less Weasleys in the world.

Despite concern over his friends, Harry frantically searched the final battleground. He had to know and he was afraid that he might be too late.

At last…

“Severus!”

“Potter… Come to gloat?” The voice was weak.

“No… To apologise… I say I understand.”

“Then my job is done…” The light faded from the eyes.

As with all the challenges, they are marked and awarded by outside people to make it completely fair. Apparently, this challenge was the hardest one they have had to judge, but in all challenges there have to be winners (though every drabble here is a winner - they were all so good!)
