Godric's Hollow

I was surprised no one started this topic yet, maybe because JK hasn't revealed much about it, but then again she hasn't said much about Azkaban either, so...here goes.

Harry walked up the lonely road that led to his parents gravesites. He had left the others a little up the road on the pretense that he wanted to be alone. That was for the most part true, but a small part of him really wanted Ginny with him, and the farther away from them he got, the bigger that part of him became. He was just about to turn around to go get her when he saw the entrance to the cemetary. Within a minute he was stepping through the gate and searching for his parents' grave. Walking along row after row it took him around ten minutes to find them, and when he did he fell to his knees and broke down and cried.

He had been crying for nearly fifteen minutes when he heard the gate open and someone walking towards him. He looked up through blurry eyes at what was unmistakably Ginny. He watched her approach and sit next to him all the while still silently crying. She took him in her arms and held him as his grief grabbed ahold of him again. They sat there like that for another twenty minutes at the end of which Ginny was also silently crying. Crying for Harry's loss of his parent's, but also for Harry. She hated to see him upset, but she also knew he needed this. There was nothing else she could do for him at the moment.

Harry looked up at Ginny and saw the tears that were flowing out of her eyes. He wasn't surprised to see Ginny crying with him; that was the kind of person she was. He motioned for her to get up with him and after silently conjuring a boquet of flowers that he laid on the space between his parents grave, they began to make their way back to Ron and Hermione. They found them at the entrance to the graveyard. Ron saw the tear streaks on Harry's face and politely turned his head to give Harry a chance to clean himself up if he wanted to. Harry was thankful Ron did this and was about to mutter a cleaning charm on himself when Hermione grabbed him in a rather tight hug. She held onto him for a bit longer than he thought was necessary, but he didn't say anything to her about it. When she let go of him, he turned his wand to his face and muttered "Scourgify". Ron turned back to Harry when he was done and put his hand on his shoulder.

"Where to, next, Harry?"

"I think we should head to my parent's place next. I want to see whats left of it."

Ginny grabbed his hand and they turned towards the road and began walking.

Lily pulled her cloak tight around her as she walked briskly down the street. Godric's Hollow. Where it all started. Exactly what she needed to study

The four teens began walking down the street to where Harry suspected the house was at; he didn't think it'd be to hard to find seeing as how it was just a pile of rubble. But looking down the street, Harry noticed that all of the houses were standing, no rubble in site.

"Well, I'll be damned..."

"What is it, Harry?" asked Ginny.

"I don't know which house is which. I just figured there'd be a pile of rubble left where the house was. I don't know what to do now."

"Harry," said Hermione, "why don't we ask somebody if they remember where the Potter house is at? They might be able to tell us where its at."

"Good idea, Hermione. Let's try that house over there," he said motioning to a house on their right.

Lily quietly followed the four teens. her search for knowledge had brought her here. The four others could lead her into something they didn't understand, but she did. Exactly what she wanted to happen. Exactly what was most,likely to happen.

She krept behind them, hiding in the shadows as they walked ahead of her. Lily pushed a lock of black hair out of her face and quickened her pace, still noiselesly

Rhia walked down the road. She was visiting her aunt, who just happened to live in Godric's Hollow. She saw Lily turn a corner and ran to catch up with her. Rhia certainly hadn't expected her to find a fellow classmate here. "What's up, Lily?" Rhia asked.

Lily turned around, not surprised to see her here. That rhia girl kept turning up when lily wanted to study.

"I'm on a search for knowledge, if you must know. I hear that the grave yard has a lot of very well known, smart, wizarding people. I planned to come examine some of the grave sites. Also, as you very well know, i am sure, that the Potter's house was in this area. I wanted to come look and see what was going on around here. So much magical force is needing to be studied. "

she paused as the two girls kept walking.

"Why are you here?"

"My Aunt lives down the road," Rhia replied, pointing backwards. "Do you ever think you should have been in Ravenclaw, Lily?"

Chris was walking to the graveyard. He had always come here to see the graves and think.

"Ahh. ......Sometimes. But when i transfered her in fourth year. I don't really think i was thirsting for knowledge as much as i am now. It's wierd. But i am on a search to widen my mine. And knowledge doesn't kill you, like pain can. So, knowledge it is." She sighed and pulled of the black cap she was wearing. Her long black hair fell out and settled nicly.

"I wish i had an aunt close to me over here. All my relatives are in America."

Harry approached the house and knocked on the door. He had seen Lily even though she seemed to be trying to hide, and, thus, had seen Rhia as well. But he didn't feel like saying anything to them at the moment. He wanted to find his parents house and Merlin help anyone who stood in his way.

An elderly man answered the door a few seconds after Harry knocked. He looked extremely old to Harry; almost as old as Dumbledore did.

"Hello, may I help you, lad?"

"Yes, sir, I was wondering if you knew where the Potter's house is at? Or, perhaps, was at?"

"Potter, you say?"

"Yes, sir."

"Well, I remember 'em well enough. Nice bloke he was, and a friendly wife he had, too. They were just down the road from here as a matter of fact. Six houses down. My, you look mighty like that man, John, no, James I believe was his name. Are you related?"

"Err, yes, sir. Thanks for all the help."

"No problem, laddie." The old man turned back into the house and closed the door as Harry made it back to the street.

"Six houses down that way," he said pointing down the road. "He didn't say if anything was left, though."

Ginny grabbed his hand and they started walking. He spotted Lily and Rhia again; they seemed to be talking to each other again.

Lily looked up as she saw harry and his group notice her. She walked up.

"hey," she aid lightly as the wind blew and she pulled her cloak tighter around her

////Are there any rules when it comes to RPG? I mean like spells we can't have the characters use? Or is there a sticky about this?\\\\

Harry stared at her for a full ten seconds, his hand on his wand.

"What are you doing here Lily?"

//the only big rule i know is no killing someone's character w/o their persmission *shrugs*//

"I'm here to study. Lots of interesting things to examine."

////I see, well I wouldn't do that anyways, but a cruciatus or imperio...\\\\

Harry's grip tightened on his wand.

"You shouldn't be here, Lily. I'd appreciate it if you'd leave us alone now, interesting things or not."

Harry's hand twitched. He was prepared for a battle if need be, but he would prefer if it didn't come down to that.

"Fine. I'm not here to fight, Harry. I'm here to learn."

She walked off toward the grave yard. She pushed open the gates and head toward a famous wizarding philosopher's grave.

Harry watched as Lily walked off, not sure how he should be feeling, but the pain and loss he experienced was still fresh in him. Maybe he shouldn't have been so snippy with her, but he had other things on his mind. Turning around, he headed farther down the road and closer to his parents house.

////Okay, now I'm again confused. I'm not sure if Harry is supposed to remember what happened in the Valentine's Ball or not, if not I don't think I would've made him be so short with Lily. What do you think?\\\\

Lily sighed and started talking notes

////hmmm, maybe I could work with that\\\\

As Harry got nearer to the house he could feel himself tense up. Ginny could tell, too, and held him back.

"Harry, what's wrong? I can feel how tense you are."

"I don't know Ginny. With every step, it's like something is making me regret it or something. I don't want to, but maybe we should go back for a little bit. I think I need to relax. Maybe my nerves are just on edge. I was almost ready to attack Lily back there, and I can't remember why." He turned himself around and the others followed him back to the graveyard where he found Lily taking notes, standing by someone's grave.

"Lily," Harry said hesitantly, "sorry about what happened back there. Err, what you doing?"

"Hello Harry," Rhia said, following Lily into the graveyard.

Lily looked up and said, "It's okay, Harry. And I'm studying. I fi try hard enough, i can make a slim mind connection with the dead person. Then, from there, i can ask a few questions."

"Like i said, I'm here to study."

She pushed a piece of stright black hair out of her face and she stood up to her full height.

"Anyone you would like me to try to connect with?" Lily asked.

"Hi, Rhia," Harry said.

He thought about what Lily had said; would he dare...

"That's pretty advanced magic, Lily. To say the least, I'm impressed. But bloody hell, I'd love for you to be able to connect with...well with my mum."

He leaned towards her so only she could hear what he said.

"If you wouldn't mind, could you ask her what she thinks of my friends, and especially Ginny? I want to know what she thinks about my girlfriend."

Lily smiled slightly and said. "Sure, Harry. Let me find the grave and I'll try to connect."

Lily walked along the rows of graves until she came across Lily Potter.


She looked at the headstone and then knealed down. She closed her eyes and began to whisper in an unknown language.

She flicked her eyes wide open with a slight smile on her face and said.

"She says hi, Harry."

Rhia watched in amazement as she saw Lily complete a miraculous feat. "Wow," Rhia whispered. "That's amazing."

Harry's inside's did a wierd sort of flop. It didn't look like Lily had changed any, but it sounded like her voice had changed a little. Or at least it sounded like it to Harry.

"Tell her I said, err, hi as well."

He heard Rhia whisper something, she was just a little ways behind him. Ginny grabbed his hand and he grabbed her in a hug. She turned around with his arms still around her but so she was facing Lily and waited for her to say something else.

"She says to tell you....she's perfect....." Lily said tellling HArry what his mother was telling her.


"and....look for the special thing were the basment ruins are...."


Lily sighed heavily.

"Connection just lost. Hope that was okay..." Lily said.

Rhia stood in shock. "The basement ruins?" she wondered aloud. "What could possibly be there? Wouldn't Dumbledore have found anything of worth here?"

The basement ruins...

Harry could only think of one place that could be.

Then something else she had said clicked in his head, she's perfect.

"Lily, did my mum mean...did you ask her what I asked you?" Seeing her nod her head Harry grabbed Ginny and buried his face in her hair.

"Did you ask her what she thought of me, Harry?" asked Ginny. Harry nodded into her hair, crying softly. He never realized it, but all he ever wanted was his mother's approval; now he had that. Ginny let a little smile cross her face before she turned around and grabbed Harry in a tight hug. Silent tears were running down her face and all she could think was that Harry's mum thought she was perfect.

"Lily," Harry spoke up, "Did she say anything else about the basement ruins?"

Lily pushed her head in her hands and pulled out a portable pensive. It was a cheap one, but it would make due.

She pulled out a silver strand from her head and said, "Let's see."

She poked her wand in and she was at the scene of when she had connected with Lily Potter"

Harry watched her pull out a small pensieve and place a strand of memory into it. And then he watched her sink away into it.

Lily Potter, can you hear me?"

Lily stood waiting for the dead woman's response.

"Yes I can, dear. May i ask who you are?" The older, dead woman asked kindly.

"Lily Londan. Your son knows me."

"Oh! Ok...so why are you trying to talk to me, Miss Londan?"

"Well...normally i'd ask more professional questions, but your son would like me to ask a few questions for him."

"Alright, please continue," he red head pressed on.

Lily smilied kindly and said, "The one question he asked me to ask you was, what do you think of Ginny Weasley, his girlfriend."

Lily Potter giggled and said, "Weasley.....Is she Author and Molly's daughter?"

"yes, she is."

"Well I've never really had a chance to see her that well...."

"I can show you. We can get into Harry's head."

"A legilmance as well? wow, you are a talented witch. alright, show me Ginny Weasley."

Lily closed her eyes in concentration and actually managed to bring both Lily Potter and herself to the memory portion of Harry's mind.

"I'm not sure how his mind will have those memories catogrized."

Lily Potter looked around and then questioned, "could you try to call to mind a memory?"

"I can try." Lily stated and immediantly a memory of ginny protesting in the forest. She wanted to go with Harry to the department of mysteries.

Another memory came and anoher after that.

"You're getting weak, dear. Let's get out of my son's head."

Lily nodded and pulled them out of HArry's head.

"Lily, I'm fading- tell harry the thing he's looking for is where the basment ruins are!"

"What's he looking for?" Lily asked confusdly.

"horcruxe-" Lily Potter said before fading away completly.

Lily pulled herself out of the pensive.

'Did you see that?" she asked Harry.

"Yes, I did. Wow, I didn't know you were even in my head during that time. I guess that means I need to go back to the house." He turned to the others and said, "Ron, Hermione, I know you guys will come with me-"

"Of course we will, mate."

"And Ginny, too, of course," she squeezed his hand in response. "Rhia you can come along as well if you like, and Lily the same goes for you. Thank you, Lily."

Lily nodded. "No problem, and I'd love to go." She stood up to her full height and walked with them.

Harry and the others walked towards the exit of the graveyard and began the walk back along the road. Harry turned to everybody and started speaking.

"The last time we walked down this way I had, well almost like a panic attack as we were nearing the house. I believe there is something there, possibly the thing my mum was talking about, and it affects me pretty nasty. I need to ask that you guys make sure I keep moving. I don't want to get so close and not be able to continue." Ginny, Ron, and Hermione all nodded their heads, although Ginny looked very reluctant to accept his terms. He turned to Lily and saw...

Lily looked up at harry and then caught a gimpse of something behind him.

"Harry, something is glowing the gryffindor colors. Behind you."


Lily pointed and said, "Maybe thats what you're looking for."

Lily knew very well what horcruxes were and she was ready to find them and destroy them if she came across them,

Harry turned around him and saw that they were at the house and indeed something was glowing red and gold behind him. It looked like a cup or a...

"Is that a rattle?" asked Ginny.

Harry stepped forward and saw that indeed it was a rattle.

"Yeah, Gin, it is. It must ahve been mine. Lily, you know what Horcruxes are I suppose?" He saw her nod and looked at the rattle.

"I think this is a horcrux. Now, if only I knew how to destroy it..."

"Of course i know what they are.' she said

She paused.

"You burn it- or poisin the piece of soul inside." she said to harry

"Hmm, should we try burning first, then? Or maybe a killing curse could do it. What do you guys think?"

"I think it's worth a shot." Lily said.

"Would you like me to perform it, Harry?" she asked

"Go ahead, if it doesn't work, we can all try it at the same time."

Lily took the rattle and set it on the cold ruins.

She shouted, "Advera Kedvera!"


There was a burst of green light and then the whole thing stopped glowing

"Do you think it worked?"

Rhia had seen that Harry, ginny, and lily probaby wantd some time alone as they went through Lily's pensieve. Rhia had quietly wandered around the ruins, but gave a little shriek as she tripped over something pale and sharp.

Harry heard Rhia yell out and looked around for her, but couldn't see her.

"Did either of you see her?" The shook their heads. He looked around trying to fidn her. This area wasn't safe; their could be Death Eaters anywhere. He grabbed his wand and motioned for everyone to do the same thing. Then they started walking around looking for her, the horcrux lay forgotten, which was a shame because it began glowing again.

Rhia started to pick herself up off the ground but winced halfway through. "Owww," she groaned. "I think I sprained my ankle." Rhia sat up instead of standing and saw what had tripped her. The object was half covered in the ruins, and when Rhia dusted it off, she held a small box made of mirrors.

Harry found Rhia sitting on the ground holding a small box, well made of mirrors actually. He stared at it for a second.

"Rhia," he finally said, "why are you sitting on the ground? Are you alright?"

Lily turned her head back o the hurcux.

"Harry, it's glowing again," she said

Harry looked back and saw that she was right; it was glowing again.

"I guess it didn't work. Let's try it together Lily." They walked over to the horcrux and aimed their wands at it.

Togther they shouted "Advera Kedvera!"

"I'm er... fine," Rhia stammered, mesmerized by the box. "What is it, I wonder?" she asked to no one in particular.

This time the curse worked and the horcrux stopped glowing. Harry looked back at Rhia and saw her staring at the box on the ground. He too looked down at it and stared. He only vaguely recognized Ginny yelling at him to look away before she and Ron forced him to look away. When he did his head started aching almost to the point of a muggle migraine.

"Go...help...Rhia," was all he could choke out, his head was hurting so bad. Ron and Ginny went over to Rhia and helped her to look away from it.

Harry's head had lessened its ache enough for him to squeak out, "Don't look at it. There's something wrong with it."
