Spring Dance

Ginny Weasley walked into the great hall where the Spring dance was being held. Her long red hair was tumbling down around her shoulders. She wore a short black gown with spaghetti straps. The dress did wonders for her petite figure, accenting every curve. She wore black sandals that showed off her painted pink toenails.

She walked across the room and headed towards Krista who she saw talking with another girl. "Hi Krista." She said happily. "Have you seen Harry? He is supposed to be coming tonight." She smiled at the meer thought of him being here, dancing with her. She always had such a good time with him. So strong and so incredibly handsome.

"We did leave them," She looked out across the lake. "maybe you should go and see to them, I can tell that Rhia doesn't like me much and Kyo he's your cousin, but he's nothing like you. I don't think they'd care if I wasn't there." She frowned, "I think I'll just take a swim." She looked up at him, "If that's okay with you."

"Oh no, no." He shook his head, protesting. "I'll go in when you go in, Dani-san." He assured her, his tone, steady but true to his word. "Kyo doesn't want to see me, but, we can go see Rhia when we go in, together." He nodded, smiling again.

His sweet smile turned into a frown. "I never got that feel between you two...Why do you think she doesn't?" He nodded, as she asked him if she could swim.

"Well she'll kill me for telling you, but she really likes you, more than just a friend. But she's playing it cool right now," She took off her shirt showing off her black bra, and shimmined out of her camo pants. "But I think she can tell that I like you as well, except I'm not playing it cool and giving it time, I'm diving head first." with that she dove into the lake her body disappearing under the blackish water.

Maeve watched as everyone mingled and decided she needed a break from this overly joyish occasion. She walked outside the Great Hall and was stardled seeing Yuki sitting alone out of the Great Hall.

"Oh hello there," Maeve awkwardly, "Umm, do you want to be by yourself? If so I could leave you be"

Yuki frowned, buried deep within thoughts, a state, which it seemed as thought he was unconscious. He decided that Rhia would be easier to face then Dani, seeing as Rhia didn't know he knew. He could act completely unaware. But...Dani-san had come straight on. He sighed and nearly jumped when he was awoken from his thoughts by a girl he hadn't met yet. He looked up and smiled weakly, then gazed at her through pretty, purple eyes. His mouth opened and a soft voice came out.

"Good evening." He shook his head when she asked if he would like to be alone, he scooted over on the bench so she could sit if she liked. "You can stay, if you like..." He looked straight into her eyes and bowed his head. "I'm Yuki Sohma, I don't believe I've met you yet."

Maeve sat down beside him thankful she was not asked to leave.

"Nice to meet you Yuki, I am Maeve Lechmere." She spoke looking back at him. She soon noticed that his eyes were of a strange nature, they were purple. But she did have to admit even though they were strange colored they were beautiful.

" You have very interesting eyes." Maeve spoke without thinking how odd it must sound to complemint someone's eyes. She then stopped looking at him reverting back to her usual shy nature and looked to the wall across from her in slight embaressment.

'Way to go Maeve,' she thought to herself, 'Embaress yourself why don't you. You don't just complement someone's eyes thats weird....isn't it. Well I am not exactly sure about rules of social interaction. Maybe it is alright.'

Maeve slowly moved her gaze back to Yuki.

He looked her over and took her name to note. "Miss Lechmere? Got it." A faint pink glowed on his face at the remark about his eyes. He supposed, and decided, that purple was an odd colour.

He glanced away from her, embarrassed as well. His response was calm, and a little nervous sounding, "Uh..Thanks." He smiled and turned his head back to her. "What made you decide to come to the dance, Miss Lechmere?"

"I was pretty much told to go to the dance by some professors that were working on getting me situated here." Maeve answered. "They think that I will get back some memory I lost a few months ago. You see, I lost all my memory in some weird incedent. No one knows for sure what happened. The last thing I remember is waking up in St.Mungo's hospital."

Maeve sighed. So, far she had not remembered a single thing. She decided to change the discusion from herself, "So why did you decide to come?"

It seemed as if Krista had dozed off, so Rhia got up and thought a bit. Where would she go now? Shrugging, Rhia wandered around the dancefloor. Since she didn't see anyone she knew, RHia decided to go outside for a bit; the air in the great Hall was hot and absolutely stifling. Stepping outside onto the lawn bordering the lake, Rhia breathed a sigh of relief as the cool breeze blew her hair about.

Dani resurfaced figureing she had scared off Yuki at first she wanted to cry, 'What's wrong with you?' she thought to herself, 'You barely even know him and already you've given him your heart'

She remembered that she'd done this thing so many times before, and the tears of the memories came back to her. Vale, Bryan, Jason, and many more, they'd all broken her heart this way. She sighed and again thought of what she usually did when this happened, Suicide. Frowning she plunged under the water, she never went though with any of her thoughts but this time she was already in place all she had to do was breath, simple as that. Drowning didn't seem so bad, but she shook her head and swam back to the shore crying the whole way.

She bewitched her body to dry and she slipped back into her clothes, "Don't do this to yourself," she said aloud to no one inparticular. "You'll reget doing anything if you do it."

Instead of returning to the dance she ran, running always helped her get things off her mind. She ran until she was panting for breath about ten miles into the forbiden forest.

Yuki smiled and nodded at the appropriate time's during her explanation. His eyes widened when she explained that she had lost her memory and concern filled his face.

"I'm sorry, is there anything I can do for you?" He asked with a tone of concern, eyes shimmer with the same look. "So, the hospital is unaware of how it happened, as well?" He finished, and decided he'd rather stay on the topic about her, then speak of himself, seeing as this issue was quite serious.

Maeve his eyes shimmer with concern, "No there is not anything that can be done. The hospital does not know a thing and well the only thing they think could possible help bring back my memories and possibly discover what caused the memory loss would be to put me back into were I was before which was here at hogwarts and just hope that will revive some hidden memories."

He frowned and leaned back against the wall on the bench.

"That's really unfortunate." He turned and lightly took her hand in his and smiled mysteriously, yet friendly, gazing at her with a mix of concern and politeness in his face. Looking down at her and his hands he then spoke again. "I'll help you restore your memory, Maeve-san." He looked back up at her, smiling again. "Promise."

Maeve smiled at his politeness and looked at his hand holding hers. She fought back tears at the sweetness of his words, "Thank you Yuki, thank you for being so kind."

Never had Maeve expected someone to be so willing to help her. Maeve looked back up at him and smiled.

He lightly took his hands away from Maeve's, and nodded. "Of course, friends help each other, right?" He left his smile on, dropping the hint that he had the impression that they were becoming friends.

He sighed and drifted off into thoughts. It would be nearly impossible getting her memory back, of course he wasn't going to admit that to her. He had to look and give off positive waves. Considering he had never met anyone she knew. He'd have to start looking though.

"So you have nothing at all that you can remember? Think hard...Sometimes, the biggest and happiest memories will shine through." He removed his smile. 'Happy memories...What a hypocrite I am.' he shook his head and looked back at her. "Your memories are still with you, there just locked up somewhere in you."

Dani collapsesd under a willow tree and sobbed, she didn't want to do this to herself, but it was happening anyway. 'He's broken my heart and he doesn't even know it,' She thought. 'He probabally likes someone else, he doesn't like me.'

She lay there and fell asleep.

Maeve smiled at his use of the word friend. He was a friend to her. A real good friend to for deciding to try and help her.

Maeve thought, "The only thing I know of my past other thn my name and parents, since they were at least able to identify me, is that a girl named Lily knows who I am, but she barely knows me from what she told me."

How Maeve wished she could remember a thing. Days at the hospital she stressed herself out just trying to regain just a fragment of memory.

"If only it were easier," She spoke leaning her head back against the wall, "I have been trying for months just to remember a piece of any memory. I mean if magic hasn't been able to help how can I do it on my own. Unless of course the thing that caused my memory loss shows up and that is enough to regain something, but that is so unlikely to happen."

Dani woke and changed her form back into a wolf, she wandered around for a few minutes and finally arivved at the castle. She changed back feeling terrible. She wandered though the GH doors and her tears came back, she ran back out but only after she had caught Yuki's gaze

He nodded comfortingly at her words, understanding that he must be quite difficult to cope with this. Especially at her age, a horrible tragedy. He sighed and was tempted to give her a comforting hug. He couldn't though. So he just tried to appear as friendly as possible.

"Lily-san, huh? Well, I guess we'll have to spend as much time around her as we can then." He stated, softly.

His plans to help her regain memory was interrupted by thoughts. 'Dani-chan...' He gazed at her as she walked through the Entrance Doors. He stood and walked over to her, as if in a daze.

"I'm sorry..." He turned his head embarrassedly at her.

"For what?" she said. "You didn't do anything," She whiped at her eyes hoping the tears would stop flowing soon.

"It's my own damn fault for doing this to you and to myself,"

He approached her cautiously, and put a hand under where the tears were falling and wiped them away.

"I'm sorry for leaving like that." He looked down, his own purple eyes shadowing. "And for making you cry." The urge to hug her was unbearable, he wanted to comfort her.

"I really, am sorry. I don't have a reply for what you said just yet though, Miss Dani-san."

"It's not your fault," she repeated. "You left like that because I scared you, I told you how I felt and you don't feel that way about me."

Lily pulled herself up, looking around at the crowd of people and then memorized their faces. She would have to forget all of this. All of her friends. If she was ever going to regain her life.

Crying, tears streaming down her distressed face, Lily ran out fo the hall.

She put a note on Tally's bed and then grabbed her trunk.


She walked to teh gates and then apparated with one last "Good-bye." at the school.

Yuki turned sideways from her, shaking his head.

"You didn't scare me...It was just shocking. That's all."

He sighed at her words at the fact he didn't feel the same. He began blushing and faced her again.

"I can't say just yet that I feel that way for you. I haven't known you for long enough to stay." He bowed his head to her, it was a custom from where he was from. "I do still want to be your friend." He looked up, purple eyes glistening.

"That's what they all say" She thought, "We can still be friends, the man who came up with those words should be murdered."

Dani didn't know if she wanted to smack him or kiss him, he was just so polite. So she decided to ignore the last coment, "Life's shocking," she informed him.

Rhia lay back on the grass and gazed up at the stars. They were beautiful tonight... glistening like diamonds in the sky. She smiled as the tune "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" started running through her head.

The blush on his face thickened, and his breathing stopped for the few seconds that he decided to try something. Is life really that shocking?

He took another step forward to her, and in about the time span of a second, his lips were on hers, in a light peck. No sooner had 5 seconds gone by that he let go of her and took a step away.

Never had he put his arms around her, knowing what that would cause. He hoped she remembered it too.

He breathed out a sighed and spoke in a tone as if nothing had happened.

"Isn't it?"

Dani let her eyes linger closed, "Indeed," her eyes remained lightly shut. She wanted him to hold her but she knew he couldn't.

As Rhia basked in the beauty of the night, her alter-ego, the Celtic goddess Rhiannon, floated up above Yuki and Dani. Smiling, Rhiannon waved her hand and light blue sparkles fell upon them. Having finished blessing the two, Rhiannon floated back towards the body of Rhia, all the while thinking, I wonder where Dani gets her information... I never knew that I liked Yuki... although deep inside, she knew that Rhia was lying to herself... Deep inside, Rhiannon knew that Rhia's heart was breaking once she heard what Rhiannon would tell her...

//okay, this might seem strange, but if you've ever read the manga series Oh My Goddess, Rhiannon's kind of like Rhia's "goddess"... I know, confusing, isn't it?\\

He smiled and took another step back, so they had space between them. Frowning at the blue sparkles falling down on them he looked up.

"Strange..." He said quite distantly. He shrugged it off and lightly took Dani's hand and walked her over to Maeve.

"Dani-chan, this is Maeve-san. She's a new friend of mine." He introduced Maeve to Dani, in hope that Dani-chan might recognize her. Perhaps Dani had known Maeve-san before her memory had been swiped away.

Maeve saw Yuki walk back over to her with a girl he called Dani-chan.

Maeve smiled up at them and spoke,"Hello Dani, it is a pleasure to meet you."

Dani looked at this girl she couldn't remember her name but she had seen her and lily together alot. "Maeve, that's a nice name. I don't think you went by that name when I first met you," she said.

//Ahem... the sparkles were blue... NOT blood! lol XD\\

Rhia dazily opened her eyes... had she drifted off to sleep? Suddenly, she heard Rhiannon, one of her secrets, speak to her. Upon hearing the news, Rhia was distraught, just like Rhiannon knew she would be. What?!?! How could you do that to me?!?! she silently told her. As tears began to gather in her eyes, Rhia listened to her goddess's explanation about the greater good and some curse or other and blah blah blah. Quickly turning as she heard voices, Rhia saw the shapes of three people in the distance. Deciding that anything was better than listening to an explanation she didn't want to hear, Rhia took off in their direction. Only when she saw Yuki and Dani, did she stop... completely still.

Dani felt a new presence, and looked over her shoulder. She saw Rhia, and waved.

"hey Rhia,"

Despite her current feelings, Rhia felt the corners of her mouth turn up into a smile at the sight of her friend. "Hello Dani," she said softly, as she avoided looking at Yuki. "Hey Maeve," she said, blocking out Rhiannon's voice inside her head.

Maeve looked at her confused, "I went by a diffrent name?"

Maeve had not been told she had gone by any name, but Maeve but it was possible she could have gone by some nickname, or of course the doctors could have gotten her confused with some other girl, "What was the name, if you can remember?"

//Whoops, mistype. >_< Fixed it.\\

Relief flooded through Yuki when it seemed that Dani had met her, or heard that she had been called by a different name before. That would help.

As Dani said hello to Rhia, he turned his figure and gaze to her. He felt almost as if he had betrayed her. Deep down, he had always had feelings for Miss Rhia. The ones he felt for Dani, were around the same level. She confronted him about it, and...well, Yuki would have never been able to get up the confidence to ask either of them.

None the less, Rhia-chan had no idea that he had kissed Dani right now. He would, of course, tell her later. He ignored that betrayal feeling stabbing in the back of his mind and gave her a cheery wave.

"Hello, Rhia-chan. I haven't seen you...All night!" He smiled and bowed his head to her. "How has the dance been treating you?"

"I-I can't remember it, I think it started with an S." Dani said.

Maeve thought, what name could it be. If it started with an s then that could leave open lots of possiblities.

"Was is a common name or uncommon?"Maeve asked.

"Uncommon I believe." She replied and sat down

Maeve thought of what uncommon names started with s. She cursed under her breath.

"Are you positive you can't remember anything else of the name?" She asked, determined to find out the name. "Like maybe what nationality it seemed to from. You know like the name Angelique is french."

"Actually I'm not sure, it was one of those names like Ebony and Ivery...Oh My God! It was Ivery no Ebony." Dani said running her fingers though her hair,

Yuki gazed at Rhia a moment longer before sitting down with Dani and Maeve.

"Ebony, eh? We could look it up in the student records. If, that's who you are, Maeve-san." He said softly to her, looking into her eyes with concern and sincerity.

Maeve bit the bottom of her lip and asked Dani,"You sure that is it?"

Those could have been her real name, but who knows. Maeve was so confused, losing her memory sucked.

"I'm pretty sure," Dani said. She ran her fingers through her hair

"Thanks for your help Dani." She spoke and gave Dani a hug.

Maybe Maeve, or Ebony if that was her real name, might finally discover her identity.

Maeve nodded to Yuki, "That sound like a good idea. And thanks for all your help too." She gave Yuki a hug then too.

Maeve was so happy she did not think about the awkwardness the hugs might bring.

Dani gasped, "Maeve," she said hurried "Lets go get some punch." She turned her away from Yuki who had turned into a rat. "I think I see Lily over there,"

Dani grabbed Maeve's hand, "Over here." she pulled her along
