The Black Lake

"I'm fine," Azelina said, she ignored the girl's offered hand and stayed sitting in the grass, she had hit her head pretty hard when she landed on the ground and didn't know if she was ready to get up. She was embarrased but didn't show it.
She sat there for a moment, waiting for the dizziness to pass before finally standing up. She brushed the grass off of the back of her robes and faced Cat.
"Good job," she said to the girl. But you could have warned me, she thought, face cold and blank.

Cat noticed the girl's face cold and blank. Cat gave an apologetic look. "I am sorry," she spoke. "Should have warned you. Wasn't thinking."

Hum, not very friend like. Chris thought. Chris watched the girls.

"It's fine," Azelina replied, eyeing the boy who was watching them with a cold look. "Would you like to join us?" she asked, turning towards him.

Chriss aw the girl's cold look and he felt a chill travel down his spine. "Sure I guess." Chris said.

Cat smiled at the boy and asked, "Wanna go first?"

"Well I guess." Chris said. He pointed his wand at Cat. "Ok, here I go." Stupefy

Cat saw a bolt of red light come from the boy's wand and next thing she knew she was unconcious. He had used the stunning spell on her.

Azelina noticed Chris shiver and tried not to smirk. She watched as the boy joined them and pointed his wand towards Cat, stunning her.

"Oh my." Chris said. "Are you ok?"

When the stunning spell wore off Cat got up from the ground and dusted off her pants. "Nice one," Cat replied. "And I am alright, just didn't expect to be stunned, but never the less good job."

"Thanks." Chris said. "Your turn."

Cat pointed towards Chris. Locomotor Mortis.

Chris felt his legs lock and he fell to the ground. "OK, yeah that was good."

Cat smiled again when it worked and then undid the spell. "Thanks," Cat replied when Chris spoke.

She reached out a hand to help him up.

She turned her head towards the other girl. "Your turn."

Chris grabbed the girls hand and got up. "Ok, let's see." Furnunculus

Azelina thought about another spell to try. She couldn't do anything too dangerous...
She lifted her wand and pointed it towards Cat, then changed her mind and shifted it to point at Chris.
"Hmm." Levicorpus, she thought, a malicious glint in her eyes.

Cat reached up to her face when she noticed things forming on it. She a shreak of surprise escaped her lips. She quickly reversed the spell and pointed her finger at Chis jokingly. "That was just mean."

Cat tried to keep herself from laughing when Chris was dangled upside-down by his ankle, but a slight chuckle escaped her lips.

Chris felt his fly up in the air. "Ok. sorry Cat." Chris waved his wand and he fell to the ground.

"Okay my turn again," Cat smiled. She turned to the other girl and casted the Twitchy Ears Hex.

Azelina smirks at Cat, who is trying not to laugh.
"Sorry, Chris, I just couldn't help myself," she said, her face clearly showing that she wasn't a bit sorry.

Azelina suddenly felt her ears start to twitch. Her hand went up and rubbed it, trying to stop the twitching. She gave Cat a look that somehow managed to be surprised and malevolent at the same time.

"It's ok." Chris said.

"So who's turn is it now?" Cat asked.

"mine." Chris shouted. "He pointed his wand to the other girl, "here I go." Reducto

After Chris cast the Reducto he noticed something different. But what was it. He looked around at the lake and saw Oddie sittin there. "What's wrong?" He asked.[/i]

"Ok." Chris said. "I am going to stop using the spells on each other and I am going to cast by pastronus again. I like to play with it." Chris told the others. "Expecto Patronum." a sliver stag appeared out of Chris' wand and he started to play with it.

"Sure I can." Chris said. He waved his wand and whispered something to it. "How is this?" the stag asked.

Azelina eyed Oddie before glancing at Chris' silver stag. I think I'd like to play with mine, as well, she thought, lifting her wand.
"Expecto Patronum," she said and her spider patronus crawled out of the end of her wand, it's many legs twitching.

She watched her patronus eye the stag before taking off towards it. The silvery spider hissed at the stag before pouncing and sinking fangs into it's back.
"Oh, dear," said Azelina, her eyes wide. "I've never seen a patronus do that before."

"Oh my gosh." Chris shouted. His patronus then faded into thin air. "Oh the heck?'

"I have no clue." Chris said.

"I didn't know they could do that either," Azelina said, putting her wand in her pocket. "That was extremely odd."
Her eyes were wide, she had lied, she'd seen this happen once before, a long time ago, when she was about six. It happened when somewhere very bad had gone up against someone very good. They hadn't know she was watching..hiding in the closet...a green flash of light and her brother...dead..

She shook herself out of the memory. No! I will not relive that!, she thought to herself, collapsing to her knees and looking out at the lake.

Cat seemed to have dozed off into thought for a bit, not back into reality till she heard a hiss. She saw a spider sink its teeth into a stag. It was two patronuses. Cat had never seen anything like that before. She was almost frozen in shock.

She didn't snap back untill she noticed Azelina's knees collapse and look out at the lake. Cat walked over to her concerned. "Are you okay?"

Azelina looked up at Cat, embarrased. "Oh, yes, I'm fine," she replied, trying to stop shaking. She took a deep breath and counted to ten, composing herself.

Cat gave frowned. Azelina didn't look fine, but Cat knew it was probably best not to push it.

Azelina stood up, the shaking finally under control. She faces Cat, noticing her frown. "I think I am going to go back up to the castle," she said, turning to leave. "Maybe I'll talk to you later." She walked along the lake and into the entrance doors.

"Ok." bye Chris said. He was still very shocked that the patronus did that.

"Well I am going to create one again. I was having fun." Chris said. "Expecto Patrnum." and the silver stag appeared. "Well all you need to do is have a very happy thought. Mine is when my dad and mum were practicing magic with me."

"Why, I am sure you ahev a really strong happy thought." Chris said.

"Oh that's so cool." Chris said. "I told you you could do it."

"Maybe not. I don't if I would either." Chris said. "I have made a patronus dozens of times but that wouold be different.'
