6th House Quidditch: GRYFFINDOR V RAVENCLAW: 14th - 18th

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June mentally directed a stream of colorful words at Elana (all in good fun though) and turned to look for where she had dropped the quaffle when the wonderful Elana had knocked it out of her grasp with that bludger. She saw Elana and Lily approach the Gryffindor goal posts and June knew that she couldn't let that happen. She flew towards the duo and thought, 'Where are my other chasers?!?!' June saw Lily score and before the others had even stopped celebrating, June had intercepted the quaffle as it was thrown into play. She shot like a bullet towards the Ravenclaw goal posts and concentrated on evading her opposing chasers and the random bludgers that flew everywhere.

(Gryffindor Beater)

Amber looked startled, knowing that she hadn't been doing a very good job, she could have at least tried to hit a bludger Lily's way, Oh well what was done was done. But this time she wouldn't make the same mistake, she headed after a nearby bludger. Catching up to it she looked around and whacked it with all her might toward the Ravenclaw chaser closest to June.

"Come on, Come on." she mumbled under her breath.

[Gryffindor Chaser]

June looked quickly to the right when she heard a dull thump. Who had gotten hit by a bludger this time? June looked around and saw one of the Ravenclaw chasers who had been tailing her nurse an injury. June saw Amber do a little victory dance when she saw that the Bludger had met its mark and June shouted, "Good one Amby!" to her friend. As she neared the Ravenclaw goals, June suddenly had an idea. June tossed the quaffle into the air and hit it with the tail of her broom towards Amber. Hopefully, her team mate would know what to do next.

{Ravenclaw Seeker}

Rigby was amazed to see Cristina right on her tail. Where had she come from? Her speed was incrediable and Rigby soon was pushing her broom to the limits just to fend Cris off. She was almost flying too fast, she had to make sure she kept her mouth shut to avoid accidental insect swallowing. The snitch bounced up and down like a high speed yo-yo, causing Rigby's stomach to churn. She tried to concentrate on the snitch, but Cris was now almost neck and neck with her, distracting her with her presence. She had never played against Cristina before, and she had definalty underestimated her seeker skills. Not many people could fly at such break neck speeds, let alone follow the path of a deranged snitch. Suddenly Rigby saw her chance, stretching out her hand, her fingers brushed the snitch...and it was gone! The snitch plummeted through the skies. Momentarily overcome by her miss Rigby allowed Cristina a slight lead. How in the world was she going to catch up now?

(Ravenclaw chaser)

::Lifey grinned, with a little bittersweetness, as she nodded to Anthony and Elana, signaling the play.::

::The three moved seamlessly, Lifey shadowing June, and anthony and Elana moving into their posistions.::

::Lifey felt nervous, this being the first time performing without Lily. She was glad that Lily trusted them with the play!::

::She swerved to avoid June who had lost the quaffle due to Elana's brilliance. The quaffle was in mid-air now, falling.::

::Pulling into a dive, Lifey used her right arm to reach for the quaffle, catching it and expertly moving it under her arm for safe keeping.::

::Now it was on.::

::Pressing her body flat against her broom, feeling it respond to her urging it forward, speeding past the crowds and players, hearing the roar of the crowd press in on her from all directions.::

::It was brilliant.::

"Anthony! Heads up mate!" ::Lifey shouted, half way across the field.::

::She neared the Gryffindor goals and threw the quaffle up.::

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

After seeing Lily score Anthony pumped his fist in celebration. A fine play indeed. His celebration was cut short however by seeing the quaffle thrown back into play. Being as far away as he was, there was now way he could get to it. Racing to get into better position Anthony laid flat down on his broom looking as if him and the wooden object were one. As he tried his hardest to get to the quaffle before anyone else could, the wind stinging his eyes like shards of glass. The rain would slap him hard like they were tiny pellets. Ignoring the discomfort Anthony raced as fast as he could. To his utter amazement June swept in yet again and secured the crimson colored ball. Off she went, in the process of getting smacked by a bludger, dropping the the quaffle, and catching it once more she scored another goal. Anthony's jaw dropped, her godly ability seemed to have no limits. He would definately find out what she ate before a game. Grinning at that thought he turned his attention to where the quaffle would be thrown back into play.

Once it was Lifey in all her glory swiped it out of the air. Happy to see she had it, but a bit suprised by her tenacity he began his pursuit. Her determination was quiet evident as he followed just a few feet above her. Keeping an eye out for rogue bludgers Anthony never took his eye off of his teammate. With a raised brow he watched as Lifey begin to make a move, it looked as if she was gonna pass the quaffle. Leaning forward on his Firebolt Anthony started to descend to where she could see him. When he saw what play she was aiming for Anthony nodded at the thought. With a heave Lifey tossed the quaffle up in the air and sped off down the pitch. Racing up underneath it Anthony pulled his Firebolt 360 degrees and smacked the quaffle back towards Lifey hard and with precision. Hoping she would be able to finish the play off Anthony hovered in place and watched.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June winced as she got hit. She quickly performed a healing spell on herself and raced after the quaffle, but Lifey got it. June then flew numerous loops around Elana, up and down, up and down, and sideways. Elana was thoroughly confused, so June raced to intercept the quaffle when it was thrown between the Ravenclaw chasers. She got the quaffle and headed towards the Ravenclaw goals. Carefully aiming for the right hoop, June held a breath when she let go of the quaffle. She let the breath out when she saw the quaffle sail through the Ravenclaw hoop.

Somehow, she didn't know how, but somehow, Lifey had scored for Ravenclaw. How had that happened? June thought. Strange... She got the quaffle when it was thrown into play and sped with it to the Ravenclaw goal posts. The rain was almost gone by now, and June welcomed the sunlight as it helped her aim. When she was a few feet from the goal posts, June tossed the quaffle in and scored the goal. To incensed to celebrate, June immediately intercepted the quaffle when it was thrown into play and sped with it to the Ravenclaw goals once more.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Anthony watched as the play was interrupted by who else? None other than the lone Gryffie chaser. Somehow she's managed to score at will, not be affected by bludgers and out do the whole Ravenclaw quidditch team. A bit of frustration now conusmed his features. Eyes narrowed and lips turned to a frown Anthony watched closely as June made her way back down the pitch deemingly unhindered. Seeing Lily and Lifey both close in on her from each side he began to give chase as well. When they both crashed into her the quaffle fell as Lily shouted out at him. Seeing it fall down below them Anthoiny laid flat against his firebolt and sped up to catch it. Once it was securely in his grasp Anthony did a 180 and took off speeding down the pitch. A few bristles of his broom would fly out behind him and idly float down he took off so fast. Not wanting to take a chance of somehow June getting loose from his teammates he kept his narrowed eyes straight ahead.

Coming to the Gryffie goals Anthony pulled up and circled around to get into better position. Once he was square in front of the hoops he palmed the quaffle and threw it with all his might. Watching with a grin on his face as the read ball flew straight through the center hoop. Anthony turned around and went to celebrate with his teammates.

::Wow, it never ceased to amaze Lifey how sometimes the game and the way it was properly played was missed by some people.::

::Lifey nodded to lily and pulled up on the other side of June, who in some way or other had the quaffle.::

::Following Lily's lead, as Anthony prepared, Lifey rammed to the right, squishing June by Ravenclaw Chasers. This is what happens when newbies interfere with Ravenclaw quidditch! Ravenclaw just getss better.::

{Ravenclaw Seeker}

Roles were reversed and now it was Rigby chasing Cristina chasing the snitch. Rigby dug in, trying to coax just a little more speed out of her broom and it inched forward. She was almost in physical pain, gripping the broom so tight and trying not to bang into Cristina. They were soon flying side by side, following the snitch in crazy patterns all over the pitch. Rigby gritted her teeth and waited for the snitch to beckon her. She took one hand off the broomstick, Cris's hand was already outstretched, fingers grasping for the golden sphere. Rigby just needed a little extra push. And then she pictured her teammates faces, and she reached out, lurching ackwardly forward, it wasn't pretty but suddenly her hands had enclosed around the snitch. She had caught it!! She had the snitch! Her broom shuddered to a stop and her teammates were suddenly flying towards her, shouting and cheering. Rigby was giddy with relief. She glanced over at Cristina, and the two shared a smile. Rigby knew once they were on the ground their friendship would be intact...well, until their next duel...

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June gasped as she was slammed by Lily and Lifey. The quaffle fell from her grasp and it fell down towards the ground, only to be picked up by Anthony. When June was finally let go by Lifey and Lily, she glared at them before racing to get the quaffle after Anthony scored. June shot across the quidditch pitch as below her, Rigby and Cristina raced for the snitch. She quickly scored when everyone else was watching the two Seekers and turned around, only to see that Rigby had gotten the snitch! June flew down to the Ravenclaws and said, "Congratulations." She turned to Cris and shrugged while she said, "Oh well... Maybe you'll get it next time. But we played great today."

Gryffindor Seeker

Cristina landed next to Rigby, playfully poking her. "Hey you - good job!". She smiled - "You just wait until the next match to see a Gryffie catch." She winked and hugged Rigby, when she saw her sister, June behind her:
"Congratulations." She turned to Cris and shrugged while she said, "Oh well... Maybe you'll get it next time. But we played great today."
"Congrats to you, too, sis! You were great! Oh and you can be sure I'll catch it next time, 'cause I'll make sure until then that no house elf will disturb the game!". She hugged her sister and went to greet the rest of the players, who were just getting off their brooms.
"You were GREAT, guys!", she yelled smiling.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

::Lifey celebrated with her teammates, as they all circled the pitch together, and turned to the gryffindores.::

"Awesome game you guys! you played awesomely as well :D it was tough trying to keep up." ::She swooped towards them to exchange high fives, grinning.::

(Gryffindor Chaser)

June high-fived Lifey and laughed while she said, "What a compliment coming for the defending champion of the Quidditch Cup. You guys were really really good though... I just wish that more of Gryffindor's team could have made it onto the field, but," June shrugged, "Maybe next time. Congratz on the win:D."
