Weather: A grey cloudy day for this Quidditch match, with whirls of clouds eddying across the sky. Gryffindor and Ravenclaw had better watch out - it looks like rain!

Notes: Welcome to the sixth match of the Quidditch Cup! Good luck to all players!

(RAVENCLAW BEATER)

"Let's do it Lana!"

"Let's," Elana replied with a grin and a nod at the hint to the play. Emerald eyes scanned the skies for the Bludgers, and, with a sharp intake of breath, she found them. Was that- Was that a Gryffindor trailing the Quaffle-bearing Anthony? An Anthony with two Bludgers headed straight for him?! Change of plans. Before the play they'd have to get the Bludgers away from Anthony.

Elana began racing towards Anthony- she could see Herby doing the same. They had to get there before they hit him, had to! They couldn't afford to loose their players! She tightened her grip on her bat as she neared the Bludgers, and gave one a hard whack. Trusting Herby to take care of the second one, Elana sped off after hers.

Now it was time to take care of the Gryffindors...

(Gryffindor Beater and Co-Captain)

June blinked and made a face. She felt as if she was being watched... she looked up and her eyes popped open wide. Oh my god!!! Lily was practically right on top of her!!! June shrieked and quickly dived, just to get out of the Chaser's way. When she felt she was away from danger, June breathed a sigh of relief and looked around to take her bearings. There was Anthony, still with one bludger trailing behind him... where was the other one? She glanced around him and noticed Herby! And that Ravenclaw had the other Bludger! June narrowed her eyes and glanced around. No doubt Elana would attempt to get the other one. The Gryffindor sighed in annoyance and raced off after the lone bludger heading towards Anthony. She dodged around, trying not to get hit by anything or anyone, while still remaining out of Anthony's eyesight. "Come on.." she muttered.

But unfortunately, Elana got there first. The Ravenclaw hit the bludger awway, and June quickly braked to race after it. She was almost there... Quickly, June veered off to the side and made a loop so now she was heading in the opposite of the direction she'd been heading in previously. She tapped the bludger to keep it in line, and occasionally glanced above her head, just so she would be able to see if another Ravenclaw decided to try to crash into her. When she was ready, June sped up for more momentum, and placed the bludger and herself in front of Anthony. With a whack of her bat, June smashed the bludger towards Anthony, head on.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Rather pleased with him and Herby's effort Anthony sped off down the pitch, quaffle secured, and competition growing by the second. Obviously his effort wouldn't sit well with the Gryffies, but it was quidditch, things like that happens. Being hit with the two bludgers earlier Anthony was beginning to feel the effects, sudden bursts of pain shot through him, as the wind resistance thrashed against his body while he rocketed down the pitch. Not allowing it to distract him, he forced himself to keep playing, it was what was required. Zigging and zagging, he took advantage of the wide area he had before him. He was a Raven, kings of the sky, and he would use whatever he could to help his team achieve victory. With a quick glance over his shoulder, Emerald eyes widened as he saw June had targeted him yet again. "Aw hell." He mumbled under is breath. He wasn't going to get hit AGAIN!. Quickly he scanned around, he wasn't far from the hoops, yet the situation called for defensive moves.

Making sure the quaffle was secured tightly, Anthony readied himself, and then, with all he had he pushed the nose of his broom down. Now flying horizontal he was headed straight for the ground, but that didn't last long. The force that he angled down with carried him on over, until he was completely upside down, heading back down to his side of the pitch. Leveling himself off, he finally saw that Lily had finally made her way onto the pitch. With quaffle in posession he raced back down as his beaters were doing what they did best. Time for a play?

[Ravenclaw Chaser]

"Go Lana and Herby!!!"

As most had come to the same conclusion - Anthony still had the quaffle after June's attempt to bash him with a bludger. Which could be possibly foiled by her own beaters. Come on guys - he needs the help! It was slow for them to relax and Lily just couldn't hover around and watch him get smash. Once she had swept past June - hopefully scaring her slightly, she tried to race in front of the bludgers heading his way. Let's go Lily - faster! One bludger left! Gritting her teeth she was able to speed ahead of it by merely inches and then feet. She looked as if she was going to crash into Anthony as he was diving down to the ground! But lo and behold it was for his own safety as she tried to lightly bump him out of harm's way as his back was turned towards the attack.

"Anthony watch out!"

Pushing them both out of the third bludger attempt's path that had almost connected with them, she had to breath a sigh of relief. When they were safe she couldn't help but glare at him. Lily realized she was playing defensively at the moment but she needed to do something. She would go on the offense soon enough, once her teammates opened their eyes and work up.

"That was almost too close! You need to watch your back Anthony! You could have gotten seriously injured!"

(Gryffindor Beater and Co-Captain)

June groaned inwardly as her attempt was foiled yet again, and raced after the bludger. What to do.. what to do.. it was obvious that a head-on attack wouldn't work; the ravenclaws were too good for that. As she pondered, June easily caught up with the bludger and automatically began keeping it in line. The rain was letting up a bit. As June flew, she looked around at her teammates. Like Lily had done, June shouted at them, "Wake up and play! It's getting a bit stifling over here, if you haven't noticed!!!" She sighed and flew higher into the air. She would have a better view from here. With the bludger, June suddenly had an idea. She had used this technique a few games ago... sometime, she didn't remember.

And it had kind of worked... maybe it would work this time too? June began to corkscrew and spiral as she flew higher and higher. As turned repeatedly in the air, so did the bludger, that was being drawn up by the wind tunnel she was creating. June reached the zenith of her spinning and, at her final spin, brought her bat around, aiming the bludger... at nothing, apparently. She stopped her spinning and shook her head slightly. She was dizzy.... but it was worth it. The spin she'd placed on the ball would make it look as if it was heading for nothing at all... but at the last moment, the bludger would (hopefully) find it's target: Lily. The move was designed so that the opposing players would be mislead by the bludger's seemingly pointless path. Little would they know that it did, in fact, have a purpose. June clutched her broom and left that bludger to do it's job. She flew towards Herby, but kept out of the Ravenclaw's line of sight. She had a bludger... and June wanted it. But how to get it?

(Ravenclaw Beater)

:: Herby continued to gain possession of one of the bludgers and saw that Elana was going for the second one. Thank god Herby thought. It would have been completely impossible and there was no way Herby was in any shape to even try.::

::Taking a huge breath of air, Herby couldn’t wait any longer, as she dove straight for a group of Gryffies. Herby knew her arm couldn’t last forever, but hoped it would last at least one more hit. Gripping her bat once again, Herby *CRACKED* the bludger unaware that it was aiming towards Izzy. ::

:: She knew it was only a matter of time before she had her own revenge. As the bludger was now heading towards Izzy, Herby noticed that June hadn’t fallen for one of Lilys great plans, but Herby knew another one was in play.::

::Glancing from one spot to the next, Herby realized that June passed her and was heading towards the last bludger that was aimed for Anthony. Herby didn’t quite understand why June was smacking the bludger again after it was already aimed for him.::

::With a shrug of her shoulders, Herby rolled her eyes and started to chase June. Spinning to a stop Anthony pulled of one of the greatest moves Herby had ever seen in Quidditch and deeked the bludger in one fellow swoop. ::

:: Herby watched as June chased after the lose bludger and Herby thought it was a good idea too. Chasing back after her bludger that she sent toward Izzy. Herby soared her fastest ever. The pain was not going away, and Herby knew that was never a good sign. When she finally caught up to the bludger. Herby waited for the next play to come up and she knew it was going to one of the greatest plays ever.::

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Nancy ran out of the school in a mad rush, her Ravenclaw quidditch robes billowing behind her as she went. She was late for the game. Very late. Things had been a bit nuts for her lately and her head wasn't completley together but she would try and get her head on and get out there and play quidditch. Something she loved.

She stopped running once she reached the pitch and quickly threw her hair up in a ponytail. She mounted her broom and kicked off hard from the ground, waving to a few of her fellow Ravenclaws in the stand as she made her way up into the sky.

Quite a few of her teammates were already there. Of course they were. They were probably on time. She shook her head and then made her way toward the center of the pitch and waved to her fellow teammates. "I'm late and I'm sorry but I am ready!" She shouted out, and then got ready for whatever plays her team was about to make.

(Ravenclaw Beater)

:: Herby smirked a bit as she watched June heading towards her direction. Gripping her bat as tight as she possibly could with her arm damaged, Herby cracked the bludger straight towards June.::

:: Herby hoped that his time it would stick and smack her straight off the broom. Especially after what she did to Anthony was just rude. Sending another bludger after him after he had already been hit twice. ::

::Glaring a bit more, Herby watched as Nancy entered the pitch ready to take on the world. It was great to know another member was now ready to help fight. Herby flew towards her spot and waited for the next move.::

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Finally out of harms war for the moment Anthony, turned back around, his team was now coming out in full force. A wicked grin plastered on his lips, as he nearly watched his capatain cause a massive collision. Gotta love Ravenclaw's determination. With quaffle still in hand he nodded firmly as Lily berated him about paying attention. He didn't feel it necessary to tell her he was in constant pain, after recieving two consecutive bludger hits. It didn't matter anyway, the important thing was for them to score. With that in mind he just hollered back over his shoulder teasing her. "Don't worry about me love! Just see if you can keep up!"

His words faded into the wind and roaring of the crowd. It was high time things got going. And pulling up gaining a bit of altitude Anthony leaned forward, pushing his broom to pick up speed. His grip on the red ball was hard to concentrate on, the rain making it slick and slippery, but he would not allow it to fall from his hold, he refused to let that happen. His eyes narrowed as he sped down the field, his target, the Gryffindor goals.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Once she got her bearings and saw what was going on, Nancy focused her attentions and energy on the game. Fellow Chaser, Anthony already had possession of the quaffle.

She saw Anthony going toward Lily and Nancy leaned forward on her broom and gripped it tightly with her legs. She would be there to help her fellow teammate and he did have to quaffle.

She caught up to Anthony and flew close beside him, mimicing his every movement. She would be ready for whatever move they were about to make. Smiling at her friend she looked over to him. "Mine as well make a play here eh?"

[Ravenclaw Chaser]

"Hey June! Watch where you're aiming! You could have taken my eye out!"

Lily had dodged June's bludger but only barely - this girl was insane! Why was she aiming for her?!? This should have been obvious to the Ravenclaw Chaser but she had that so far pushed from her mind she wasn't thinking at all straight. Then again when had she ever? Getting back on track she tried to concentrate. It would be the first time in history for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team that all three chasers were on the field and performing a play. Lily, as captain, was estatic beyond comparsion as she watched Anthony and Nancy before her. She easily brushed off Anthony's comments - she saved his hide from a bludger attack! He should be grateful to her! They needed him and she had made sure that was kept that way. Lily didn't need another player to sit out. Smiling to herself, she noted the play, something she had been cooking since day one of quidditch - she just never had the chance to play it out. It would take quick moves and fast thinking - a turtle shell game!

Smirking widely, Anthony had the quaffle but the Gryffindor team would hopefully not catch on to what they were doing. Herby would be on call most definitely to watch their butts as they pressed further on. But enough mind chatter it was time to get herself in the game! Pushing her broom foward she lined herself up, not beside them, but below them. Glancing up, each one of them would be on either side of her. A triangle of sorts formed between them. It was time to play!

"Come on guys - time to confuse them!"

Knowing the moves by heart in her head she quickly pulled her broom up and shot up quickly between the two of them while the other two would switch it about along with the quaffle, switching spots.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Continuing their march Anthony focused intently on what they were to do. Seeing Nancy coming up to fly beside him, and their captain Lily, He prepared himself mentally and physically for the play. Sitiuating the quaffle in his hand, he began a series of quick, moves, darting around in short bursts, rolling, and going back and forth. His eyes, constantly watching for any sign of opposition, danger, or rogue bludger, along with what his teammates were doing! It took all the focus he could muster. Finally glancing over at his fellow Raven, he gave a quick nod, stretched the quaffle out and began the manuever.

Flying just barely over her head Anthony held out the ball, rolling in mid air, handing it off, as the two switched places. The rain, making it difficult to keep a firm grip on his broom and on the quaffle at the same time. Knowing their team was skilled he remained confident, and once he felt Nancy have a firm hold on it he let it go, leveling himself out, and sped down the pitch, in the new position he was in.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Nancy continued to fly with Anthony and soon they caught up with Lily. They soon made a triangle pattern, a very strong way to get upfield untouched in a quidditch game. This was sure to be great fun with three chasers all on the field playing together!!! Merlin, she loved this game!

She watched Anthony's movements carefully, eyes focused intently. She watched as he passed the quaffle to her, her arms quickly going toward him to tuck the ball securly in her grip. She knew the play they were in the process of pulling off.

She continued to fly with her teammates, the quaffle safe in her possesion as they flew close to one another. She dropped altitude a bit, toward Lily who was flying slightly below and made a play fake to her, acting like she was handing the quaffle off to her but right before she let the ball go, she turned quickly toward Anthony. "Here, catch!" She told him and then quickly passed the quaffle to him.

Now with the quaffle safely back in Anthony's grasp, Nancy dropped her altitude a bit more, taking over where Lily was flying as Lily shot up toward Anthony's previous position and Anthony took over Nancy's.

They were getting closer and closer to the goals and soon, one of them was going to try and score. Right now however, they wanted to confuse the opposing team. Confusion was a wonderful tool in quidditch.

[Ravenclaw Chaser]

Anthony and Nancy had caught on quick - after all they had practiced this play a dozen times in the past. It was all done by instinct. Nancy may have been a reserve but even reserves were trained to be prepared for anything with full knowledge of their playbook. This game they had definitely improvised, winging it all the way but in all honesty they worked best like that, trusting themselves and their instincts. Ravenclaw instincts were by far the best in her mind. A wide smile graced her lips as they know were flying below her heading towards the Gryffindor goal posts. She wouldn't need to watch them, she knew exactly where and when they were going to be and where the quaffle was. The bludgers wouldn't be a problem since she trusted her beaters to take care of those. They had switched places!

Another switch would occur and Lily had been prepared for it as she reached for the quaffle Nancy had seemed to give to her while barrel rolling over her head where Nancy had once been, but she didn't stop there as she then made her way under and around Anthony as he would be prepared for the switch. Her armed seemed like it was wrapped around the quaffle, hidding it from view - but was it really there or had someone else gotten it? That was something Gryffindor needed to figure out soon for they moved like the speed of lighting!

"Almost there guys!"

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Anthony zoomed down, adding a few moves as the three of them sped down the pitch. He kept an eye on what the other two chasers were doing, and acted accordingly. The moves they were pulling confused even him, he could only imagine what Gryffindor was thinking. He just followed suit, he would figure it out himself. When he saw Lily making her move, he angled his broom and body into a position where he could get the quaffle back. That was what was happening.

He had to act quickly! Again, rolling he passed over her head, hand outstretched, his wet fingertips wrapping around the crimson sphere. Once again his position changed and he and his teammates zoomed down the pitch. Looking over at Nancy once more he began to prepare for one last hand off. Now! Once more holding the quaffle out, he switched places with her, letting go of the quaffle just as the two passed one another.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Once more the teammates switched positions. This was just too fun. She remained focused, green eyes watchful on who had the quaffle. It could be passed off to anyone at any time and she would make sure she was ready.

She looked to Anthony, who was in possession of the game ball. As she saw him nearing her she got ready, hand coming off of her broom and stretching outward. She grabbed the ball as Anthony handed it off to her once more and she tucked it safely under her arm. She gripped her broom tightly with her legs and once more moved to switch the formation.

She flew close to Lily now and smirked as Lily pretended to hand the quaffle off to her. Nancy herself had the quaffle. Oh, the art of confusion!!

Nancy then flew even closer to Lily and quickly handed the quaffle off to her. "Time to score!" She said in a determined voice and then moved to her new position, under Lily.

[Ravenclaw Chaser]

In Lily's mind it was a very good thing she wasn't getting confused because this game of luck would have gotten to her. She needed to stay focused as they were now inching closer and closer to the Gryffindor goal posts where amber was waiting for them - but did she know where the quaffle was? Hopefully - she didn't. Chocolate hues sparkling in mirth she would watch and follow as they all rotated. Anthony flying up, while Nancy flew down to her spot and Lily taking over where Anthony had been. But not before Lily would give the illusion that she was passing to Nancy as they barrel rolled towards the middle, Lily swooping on top and Nancy on the bottom. With a blink of the eye Lily wouldn't have given the quaffle - she accepted it from Nancy! But hadn't Anthony had the quaffle - no! Lily had the quaffle now! And without hesitating she was right by the goal posts just in time to send the quaffle towards the right hand goal post by throwing it in a windmill pitch. Winding up her arm - up, down and around as she felt the quaffle soar out of her grasp with precision and speed. All she had to do was wait with baited breath.

"Come on!"

She couldn't even look as she turned her back towards the Keeper - she would know by the sounds of the crowd how it would turn out. It just had to go in!

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Nancy held her breath as she saw Lily with the quaffle and made her way closer and closer to the goal posts. It had been such a perfect play so far and she prayed that they could get the end result they were aiming for, a score for their beloved Ravenclaw team.

Careful planning and dedication worked off as she watched Lily throw the quaffle hard and she heard the sound of the bell. They had done it! They pulled it off!!!

"Yes!!!!!"

She then flew to both of her teammates and high-fived each one. "Brilliant! Just brilliant!"

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

After he had done his part Anthony pulled back to a stop, hovering in place to watch the rest of the play unfold. He wasn't quite sure what just happened himself but somehow it was pulled off. The pain in his body was beginning to shoot through him even worse now. He'll never get used to getting mashed by those bloody bludgers. He brought his forearm up and wiped it across his forehead, trying to get some of the water off his face. Fuitle effort however, just made it worse.

Lily had now thrown the quaffle, and it was soaring through the air. Eyes widened as he followed it, his body tensing up, partly from anticipation and partly from the pain. Then, the thing soared through, another score for Ravenclaw! Pumping a fist in the air, he nodded to both Lily and Nancy, showing his appreciation for the team work.

(Gryffindor Beater and Co-Captain)

A bludger was flying towards Izzy… June raised a hand to her mouth, about to shout at her friend to duck, when Herby appeared and deflected the bludger… What??? June narrowed her eyes and watched the movements of the Ravenclaws… Something was most definitely going on. Suddenly, she noticed a new blur of blue flying into the air. As she watched, the blur turned out to be Nancy. June smiled: Another target. But as she flew around the pitch, she couldn’t seem to find any bludgers. She knew they weren’t both in the Ravenclaws’ grasp… so where were they? June sighed as her still slightly-impaired vision kept her from seeing clearly. But there was something she could see. The three Ravenclaw Chasers were doing something, flying together and switching… and they obviously had the quaffle. That was the important thing. June groaned, lacking the idiotic bludgers at the moment. What could she do? It wasn’t as if it’d be alright for her to crash into them or actually hit them with her bat… She winced; that would hurt and her bat might even get broken.

Sighing, June stared despondently at the Ravenclaws, feeling useless, helpless, all of those synonyms. After they had scored, June’s mood remained low. Yippee…. She raised her eyes to the raining sky… and saw a bludger, almost on top of her! June squeaked, loosened her hands, tightened her legs, and swung down in a Sloth Grip Roll. She stared upward, wondering if the bludger would still hit her. She cursed her distraction and rolled upwards again… It was time to get to work and no matter what Ravenclaw did, June knew that she wouldn’t be stopped. After all, desperate people do desperate things.

(Ravenclaw Beater)

:: Herby watched in awe as her fellow teammates formed a really cool play. She had never seen such teamwork done in one signal play. It was absolutely perfect.::

:: Herby saw at the corner of her eye, June seemed to have found that lost bludger. Smirking a bit Herby saw her bludger was still on a rampage towards her. It was possible that June could get distracted and get smacked with the bludger. But most likely not as she was quite good at her reflexes.::

:: As Herby regained her focus she was able to see the quaffle entering the ring as Lily scored another point for Ravenclaw. ::

[b]"Whoot!!! Go... Ra..Ra... Ravenclaw." ::Herby screamed with excitement.::

::This was one of the most amazing games ever, and Herby knew she wasn't going to the party afterwards. Herby arm was starting to now go numb from the pain as the swelling started to take effect.::

:: Happy to see her teammates celebrating, Herby chased after June and the two bludgers. For the game wasn't over yet.::

(Gryffindor Beater and Co-Captain)

Where were they? June bit her lip as she turned her head, searching for the ever evasive bludgers. She turned 180 degrees and gasped as she saw a blur of blue heading towards her. It was Herby, bat in her hands. June furrowed her eyebrows, confused. Why was the Ravenclaw Beater heading towards her ? She moved her head to look behind herself, and her eyes widened at the sight before her. Two bludgers, flying in tandem! Why hadn’t she noticed them? Was it just her luck to have missed them? A small smile replaced the frustrated frown and June knew that she had to do some quick thinking. Herby was hurtling towards her, obviously about to get the bludgers, and June was ready to do something about it… She just had to think of how.

Clinging to the few seconds she had left, June flew to the bludgers, held her bat straight out to the side, and got both of them as they began flying to her right. Not gonna happen. Her bat sent them flying in the opposite direction and June quickly hurried after the pair, determined to not let the bludgers or herself get caught by Herby’s bat. Swinging to the left, June tailed her pair of bludgers until she had come up with her plan. She few next to the bludgers, waiting for the right moment… When it came, June swung her bat up and hit right between both of them, separating the two black balls. They shot off at an angle, heading towards opposite sides of the pitch. Following one, June caught up with it and with a SMASH, sent it spiraling towards Herby’s bat-arm. Hopefully, the Ravenclaw wouldn’t notice it until it was too late. That done, June flew after her other bludger. Wincing against the wind, the Gryffindor pushed her broom harder and harder; she had to get there in time. June let out a breath of air as she neared the 2nd bludger. She grinned in relief and tapped it as it tried to escape the confines of her bat. “Gotcha,” she whispered, and began automatically tapping it on different sides, keeping it near her and in front.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

Becca sighed. This was not good at all. Becca tucked some of her loose hair behind her ear and waited for the quaffle to get put back into play. She faught the urge to whoop with joy as she caught it in her arms. For a moment, her mind went blank and she forgot about what she was supposed to do with the red ball in her arms. The rain smacked down on Becca's head and it jogged her memory. DUH! Becca tucked the quaffle under her arm and spun around on her broom toward the ravenclaw goal posts.

(Gryffindor Beater and Co-Captain)

June’s small smile was replaced with a grin as she realized that now, Becca had the quaffle!!!! Yes!!!! She flew closer to her friend, still keeping her bludger with her, and waved to her, letting her know she'd be there to help if it was needed. Humming happily (it was strange how quickly her mood changed in Quidditch), June flew a little behind Becca to watch out for approaching obstacles. She glanced up at the sky and relief flooded over her as she realized that the storm was now receding even more, though it was still raining lightly and thunder and lighting still permeated the borders of the clouds.

Becca pushed her broom to go faster. She suddenly wanted this goal very badly. Becca could feel the quaffle slipping slightly out of her arm. Oh no! She couldn't just drop the ball! She let go of her broom for a few seconds to switch arms. There we go! Becca thought to herself as she picked up speed again.

There was the goal posts....coming closer, closer, Ah! She would have to shoot soon or there would be no hope. Becca would simply go through the goal posts herself, and probably drop the quaffle why doing so. She took the quaffle in both hands and threw with all her might. There the ball went, going closer and closer toward the left goal post. C'mon she begged.

But it didn't happen.

The ball bounced off the stupid ring and went flying. "Noooo!" becca cried, banging her fists against the air as if it was going to make a difference

(Gryffindor Beater and co-Captain)

June’s heart leapt in her chest. They were going to score!!! She squealed excitedly and barely remembered to keep the bludger in check. She turned to Becca’s excited face and back… only to see the quaffle bounce off the ring. “STUPID STUPID STUPID!” June shouted at the ring and groaned. This was SO not her day… But what if she could do something about it? June suddenly had an idea and, unsure, dived, heading for the quaffle. Such a quick action barely kept her bludger within her grasp, but by some force of nature (maybe the wind?) it did. June reached the quaffle and drew her bat back. She gave both the red and the black ball a few milliseconds of free reign… before she pounded her bat towards the bludger, hitting it towards the quaffle. She bit her lip and watched, hoping against hope… Come on…

YES!!!!! The bludger had collided with the quaffle as planned, hitting it into the hoop!!! June laughed in exhilaration and flew towards Becca. “Great job!” she said loudly and, even though it was raining, laughed at their turn of fate.

Gryffindor Seeker

Cris' head was already buzzing with all the droning sound of the rain around her and her eyes were almost closing by themselves. She sneezed. "Oh please!", she thought annoyedly, "what now?".

She hadn't managed to catch any glimpse of the snitch during the whole game until now and began worrying. After all, she couldn't remember any game where she hadn't had at least a few sightings of the snitch before catching it. Seen as her visibility was nowhere close to improving, she wondered whether it would ever be possible to end the game. "So many great Quidditch games," she thought, "and now this." Groaning, she stopped to stare at a spot where she had the slightest impression she had seen something budge. However, it had become just too clear after not even a moment of looking into grey nothingness, that it was yet another disappointment. Another one.

She felt the wind toughening - if that was still possible. It was hitting against her wet cheek and she could just too well imagine Madam Pomfrey's face when she would get off her broom and .. well, probably fall right onto a hospital bed. However, she was doing her best at staying focused.

Then, she suddenly was almost blinded by a flash of lightning that flooded the pitch with more light than a whole football field light installation. Surprised, her first reflex would have been to close her eyes, but her previous Quidditch experience had taught her that you sometimes should ignore your reflexes and think - incredible thing to do at such a moment when she was slowly but surely reaching the state of a braindead zombie. But it was enough - it was there, just a few metres in front of her! The snitch!

Yelling euphorically and decided not to let it escape, she sped forward. The lighting had only lasted a millisecond, but it was enough for her to spot the snitch. Now that she knew where it was, she could even slightly see it through the rain and it was miraculously getting clearer and easier to see! No, that was a stupid thing to say as really - she was closing up on it! She stretched out her hand as far as she could without slipping off the broom and could then fel the void of air the snitch was creating through flying at such great speed. It was an incredible feeling, which was quite literally giving Cris wings, making her forget about the madness of flying so fast or even her cold. All she could feel was a intense joy and a new kind of warmth going through her whole body.

And then her middlefinger touched the sitch lightly. She did an ultimate effort of gaining half an inch on the snitch, then rolled it into her fist. Bliss ...!

Gryffindor Chaser

Katie watched as Becca and June turned the bad luck into good, and she felt heartened by it. So it was Katie that caught the quaffle once it was put back in play, by a very wet looking Madaam Hooch. She tucked the ball securly under her arm and took off towards the other side of the pitch.
