Santa’s sleigh is magical so I feel that he would continue to use his original sleigh instead of getting a different type of magical vessel. Though perhaps it would have some of the speed efforts that a firebolt had so that Santa’s sleigh could go extremely fast. If indeed it was magical I think they would make it safer so that Santa did not loose any toys on the way.
If magic was real I think that the story of Santa would be plausible but when I was little this tale always puzzled me. It is just not possible. Though the thought of this when you are little makes you smile, as it is nice to always think that there is magic in this world or some force greater than your own which can solve things. Or do great.
Not only is Santa’s sleigh supposed to be magical but also flying reindeers? That would not be possible and I don’t think it would be in the wizarding world either, because you could levitate them but unless the beast has magical flying ability it would be wrong to put special flying features onto a beast.
The story of Santa is merely there to make children believe that there is something else out there something more magical and great than them. It is merely a fairytale where anything can happen. Like a girl can prick her finger and be asleep for 100 years. It’s a nice thing to think.
In conclusion I think that if magic really was real then it would be possible to create Santa’s sleigh but in reality Santa would be dead now.

| I think that in the wizarding world a flying sleigh would be very feesible. Why not? They have flying brooms, carpets, and even (although it's not very wise) flying cars. However, in the muggle story, the sleigh it pulled by reindeer who have the capability to fly. Because of this fact I think the most likely case is that "Santa" would have flown in some sort of vehicle, perhaps even a sleigh, that was pulled by thestrals. If that were the case, they would have appeared either invisible or as something that muggles would likely find frightening. Reindeer, however, would not instill fear. It seems logical that a muggle would have replaced what they saw with something less disturbing.
Obviously, the story of Santa Claus has been around for far too long for him to still be alive. However, there are many other muggle stories in which the protagonist has one name, but there are many who own this name. The one that comes immediately to mind is James Bond. Why couldn't Santa be a similar case? What if the job were passed on to other people, and the title assumed with it?
It really is a nice thing to imagine being true, though. Wouldn't it be wonderful if there were some benevolent spirit who flew around one night (probably with the aid of a time turner), spreading joy and gifts to children everywhere? It really gives you a feeling that good still exists in this world.

| I definitly beleive the story of Santa's flying sleigh and it is completly realistic to have such a thing in the wizarding world. After all, all it would need is a few extra charms once in a while to keep it running and safe and that's about it. After all Santa definitly has enough magic to make htis work. I beleive Santa's magic comes from all the young children who beleive in him and his friends the flying reindeer.
Which brings me to the point that the reindeer aren't reindeer at all and are threstrals. However since Santa comes when we are all asleep noone has ever noticed. Sure, the few people who visit Santa at the North Pole see reindeer but those are just for display. Everyone knows Reindeer can't fly!

| If you would of had asked me this question about ten years ago I would of had told you that magic is real and that Santa uses it to power is sleigh along with many other things. Like for one thing he would have to use magic to get into people's houses and to be able to make a round trip in a short period of time.
But since this isnt ten years ago I will have to say no. The idea that magic is real is crazy but if some little child asks me if I believe in Santa and his raindeer of course Im going to say yes. Yes many will say well you just lied to a child but thats not how I view that. When I was little I loved the idea that a big fat jolly man came around and gave good boys and girls presents and then I found out he wasnt real at the age of ten which then ruined a couple of my christmases afterwards and I must give thanks to my sister for that. Since I loved Santa I dont see why I should upset a child telling him or her that he isnt real.
If you ask me if Santa was real I will say yes even to this day and age. No I dont believe in the man but I believe in the spirit and isnt that what Santa is all about.
Now as for Santa in the wizarding world. I dont think he would because then in a way he would be like all of the other witches and wizards who has magical powers. Im not saying that there isnt no icon of some sort Im just saying that the Santa we all know and love isnt the same one in the wizarding world. I think that that Santa would have some speacial power that makes him different from the rest of the witches and wizards and his equipment would also be some strange and wierd items that the wizarding community had never seen before. Other than a sleigh he could have some wierd looking broom that traveled super fast or something like that
