However I'm very confused. I saw the School Reunion eppy and it makes me very confused as I didn't have a clue what was going on...so this is what I've gathered, obviously its quite a ways into tthe future...the Doctor is a timelord which means he never actually dies really, right? ummm and that that one dude actually does do that K-9s job XD lol

As for Mick... yep, he's K9 rofl

The only one I'm not recording is one called "Love and Monsters" because my recorder thing didn't have enough room. Should I record it anyways? Is that one good?

| You should record it because it's good to have the whole series, but if you have to miss an episode, then that's the one to miss.
It's a good piece of television, but not up to par with the usual standard of Dr Who. Definitely the weakest episode of the series.

| I really enjoyed the Christmas special. Catherine Tate wasn't as bad as I thought she was going to be - because her chracter was meant to be gobby and annoying. Sarah Parrish was unrecognisable as the Empress of the Rachnids - and her accent was different, so I didn't think there was much point in her being in it. It could have been anyone and we wouldn't have known the difference lol. But the parts when Donna said something or did something that reminded him of Rose, and he'd get that look on his face... And there was a tiny flashback scene with Rose, so now we know why she was credited on IMDB for the Christmas Special. But I enjoyed it - and one of the best parts IMO was the previews for the next series at the end! How can they make us wait three months??? | |

| About the new series: Dr Who- BBC 1, Saturday 31st March, 7pm - Quote :
- The new series of 'Dr Who' begins this Saturday and will see David Tennant return to his role as the tenth Doctor. The series will also mark the debut of newcomer Freema Agyeman who will step into Billie Piper's shoes as the Doctor's new companion, medical student Martha Jones. The first episode of the series 'Smith and Jones' follows Martha, as an ordinary day working on the ward turns into a nightmare when her entire hospital is transported to the Moon! Anne Reid is guest starring in the episode as Florence Finnigan, a patient in the hospital where Martha works. It's not the first time that Anne has starred opposite the famous doctor - she made an appearance in a Doctor Who episode called 'The Curse of Fenric' in 1989: "I still get fan letters. And it's about 100 years ago. People send me pictures of my character. Apparently you can go to America and be paid to talk to the Dr Who society." Future Dr Who guest stars include Ardal O'Hanlon, Sir Derek Jacobi, Michelle Collins and Anne's good friend and Dinnerladies co star Thelma Barlow.

| Eeee, I love the new series! I didn't think I would like Martha all that much, as she is Rose's 'replacement', but it's turned out she's not so bad. I've seen the first two episodes so far, and she's quite a good assistant. Her relationship with The Doctor seems to be pretty good, and they bounce off each other pretty well. - Spoiler:
I LOVED The Shakespeare Code episode! The Harry Potter references were great, and Shakespeare using Expelliarmus to defeat the evil aliens - genius!

| I really enjoyed the Daleks in Manhatten episode, actually. (side note: did you notice how they like the play on words in the titles with modern books/films? We had The Shakespeare Code [The DaVinci Code] and Daleks in Manhatten [Maid in Manhatten]) - Spoiler:
Anyway, I really enjoyed it. It was great to have a setting that was on Earth, but not London, and I also liked that it showed a side of New York we don't really see in most TV series or films (The Hooverville bit). I think the daleks in this 1930's was a really great contrast, and using the empire state building as their base was genius. I hate two-parters though, because we have to wait a week until the next episode! And there was a horrible cliffhanger at the end of yesterdays episode The pig people were very scary...moreso than the daleks I thought, because they were a strange hybrid of pig and man, and their faces were just...ugh...
- Spoiler:
As for Boe, well. You know how Boe said that The Doctor was the last of his kind, but then "you are not alone"? We also know that The Doctor has a child and granddaughter. Assuming (as we must, as there are no other timelords), the mother of his child is a human, then it would be a half-timelord child. So not fully timelord, but it would mean he is not alone.
Another thought I had was perhaps there's an Alternate Universe Doctor, but that's mainly wishful thinking on my part because then Rose might have to come back :D
My final thought (well not mine really, just the rumours), is The Master. I don't know much about him, but he was a timelord as well, from the orignial run of the show, and he was an enemy of The Doctor. He had a time machine as well, and it's better than the TARDIS apparantly, because whilst the TARDIS is stuck in its disguise of a 1950's police box, The Master's ship could be anything...anywhere...
Anyway, we shall see.

| So I was watching series one the other day, and in the episode called "The Long Game" (the one where they go to satellite five and the weird jagravesh thing is in the ceiling), and I noticed this... - Spoiler:
They pass by one of the television's, and it's on a news channel, because that's what satellite five. Anyway, the televison they pass by shows a picture of the face of boe, and says "And the Face of Boe has just confirmed he's pregnant"
Now...is this some sort of foreshadowing? Is there a baby Boe somewhere around? The face of Boe in the Gridlock episode said "I am the last of my kind, as you are the last of yours". Yet if he was pregnant, surely there would be another face of boe? Meaning that there is another timelord? Well, it's something to think about.

| I came across someone's LJ where they've gone methodically through each page of John Smith's journal and transcribed his (very messy) writing. It's interesting: http://lixa-turner.livejournal.com/138379.htmlI cannot wait for the next part of this episode! I've been reading spoilers on imdb and arghhh I want to watch it now! And then Cap'n Jack is back! But baaaad Doctor! This is great: http://www.cafepress.com/worldsendimages.118322425So I was watching the last two episodes of Torchwood yesterday in preparation for Captain Jack's re-entry into Dr Who, and I noticed that when Tosh and Jack are outside the Ritz (modern times), there's a poster on the door which says "Vote Saxon". Most intriguing, as we know Saxon is someone being mentioned quite frequently in the last few episodes of dr who. Also, I think a mistake has been made somewhere. At the end of Torchwood, we saw The Doctor's hand bubbling, then heard the TARDIS entering the hub, followed by Captain Jack disappearing. However, I've seen a clip of when Jack comes back into Doctor Who, and the TARDIS is in the centre of that square in Cardiff, charging up over the rift, with Captain Jack running towards it from the other side of the square. My question is, how are these two scenes reconcilable? Tosh, Owen and Ianto didn't see Jack leave the Torchwood hub, yet he definitely disappeared within the hub. | |

| ARGHHHHHHH I'm now scared stiff of statues!!!!!!!!!!! So good tonight!! - Spoiler:
I really LOVED the way the girl who played Sally acted - she just accepted it (the Doctor being a time-traveller) and I really think - along with Amy - that Steven Moffat should write more eps because they're all really good!! This episode was so amazing amazing amazing. When Larry was standing there looking at the statue.... I was whispering to myself "don't blink, don't move", and this is probably one of the only eps that has genuinely scared me! I think I must have blinked what... 4 times during the whole thing? It was just SCARY.

I completely agree..very scary and very tense. About five minutes in, my reaction was "Oh great, another Love and Monsters," but moments later I was engrossed.
The story was amazingly well written, and even though The Doctor and Martha were in it for what...10 minutes tops, it was one of the best of the New Who.
Stephen Moffatt is an incredible writer - he also did Girl in the Fireplace, The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances - which are amongst my favourite episodes (The Empty Child being my very favourite).
But yeah...so much was good about tonight. There was the scariness and the tension, but there was also humour "I love that line, I'm getting it printed on a t shirt", there was emotion - when Sally was talking to Billy in the hospital, and there was an amazing plot.
I thought nothing could top Human Nature and The Family of Blood, but this episode was fab. And Jack is back next week (not this week as I was at first led to believe!)

| Right, so a big part of last night's ep was the easter eggs, well...I found an easter egg on the BBC microsite for this episode :D If you go here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/episodes/2007/310.shtmlAnd then click above the Doctor Who logo, you get taken to a copy of "The Hull Times". What is the significance of this? Just to add a bit of colour to the site? Something I noticed is that again, a Tim is mentioned. Tim was the one with the watch in Human Nature, Timothy the public schoolboy was referenced in the second from last ep of Torchwood, and here again. Connection? Or a case of Mark Evans? | |

| I absolutely agree! - Spoiler:
And I'm thinking more and more that inside the troclafane (or whatever they're called) are some sort of timelords...
The Master said it would break the Doctor's heart if he really knew what the Toclafane were...and I think them being timelords would definitely break his heart.
Argh! I can't believe we have to wait a week! EDIT: I just read a theory that kind of makes sense. We know the Doctor Who people like using anagrams: Torchwood = Doctor Who, Mister. Saxon = Master No. Six, right? - Spoiler:
Well, how about: The Toclofane = Clone of Theta And from wikipedia: - Quote :
- The series has also occasionally toyed with the Doctor's identity (or lack thereof). In the first part of The Mysterious Planet, the Doctor suggests writing a thesis on "Ancient Life on Ravolox, by Doctor...", but is interrupted by Peri. In The Armageddon Factor, the Time Lord Drax addresses the Fourth Doctor as "Thete", short for "Theta Sigma"; later, in The Happiness Patrol, this was clarified as a nickname from the Doctor's University days. In Remembrance of the Daleks the Seventh Doctor produces a calling card with a series of pseudo-Greek letters inscribed on it (as well as a stylised question mark). This may be a reference to Terrance Dicks' and Malcolm Hulke's book The Making of Doctor Who (1972), which claims that the Doctor's true name is a string of Greek and mathematical symbols.
(emphasis mine) So, are we looking at a new race of timelord babies, made by The Master using The Doctor's DNA/genetic code, which we know he has from the hand? That would definitely make his hearts break...
eeeeehhhh I need the next episode now!

| That is an interesting theory, but I'm in the camp that believes RTD is not that great of a writer ^^ I mean, it's possible of course, but it seems a lot to stretch for one more 45-minute episode. I have a feeling the paradox machine will come into play somehow, but at the moment it's seeming pretty desperate And what exactly are the toclafane? So much to wrap up in the last episode ^^ | |

| OK, this is weird...I'm on a Doctor Who forum called Outpost Gallifrey, and apparantly in the last episode there is a secret revealed about Jack that made John Barrowman and David Tennant jump around in glee. So it's something big. And the general consensus theories are: -Jack is the Face of Boe -Jack is the Doctor's brother -Jack is the Brigadier's son Now, I have to say - I HATE HATE HATE the idea of Jack being the FoB, so I really hope this isn't true. I don't mind so much the idea of Jack being The Doctor's brother (half human on his Mother's side, apparantly), but...why can't Captain Jack just be Captain Jack? Also, I'm not entirely sure who the Brigadier is, but from what I've read he was part of UNIT (United Nations Intelligence Taskforce) from the Classic series. EDIT: Beneath the spoiler lies a whole haul of screencaps from the LoTL trailer. This is good, because the images in the trailer faded so fast I couldn't see what they were! - Spoiler:
Not in linear order: What could this be? It looks reminiscent of the buildings we saw on Gallifrey, but on Earth...seems like considerable time has passed since the end of SoD? The mysterious toclafane Is that The Master in the middle? The Doctor? Can't tell from this shot. So what is inside the spheres? And is stubble man the Boxer who was mentioned in the previous episode? Seems odd to waste dialogue on someone who doesn't appear... Where's the Doctor's arm? And this better be The Master reversing the old age thingy - I don't think I can stand much of the episode with old icky doctor! Explosion in the TARDIS or the TARDIS life form being released? No sign of the red casing from the paradox machine though... Jack looks different! He looks...younger yet somehow older? A boat? Martha in combat gear? Perhaps related to Leo being at Brighton (seaside town)? Who's Jack shooting? Eek! The Doctor got a wheelchair...again, let's hope that's The Master reversing the aging process. Slightly OTT here, but I just realised those portals behind the Master look VERY retro-TARDIS. Perhaps the Valiant is The Master's TARDIS?

| Wow indeed! Some of my random thoughts about the episode: - Spoiler:
-Voldemort-Doctor was creepy, but it showed just how evil the Master is -I'm guessing they kept Jack chained up because he can't die -What was in the Toclafane was creepy too And sad...they thought they were going to Utopia, but ended up becoming the evil spheres -Martha was very clever in this episode, and I liked that! About time she showed some guts! -The bit when she was kneeling before the Doctor and explained everything was GREAT! -The Doctor-glowy powered by thought thing - I loved that! It was completely unexpected...but oh so great -The Doctor cradling the Master as he died and refused to regenerate. Poor Doctor He doesn't want to be the last one left -Jack is the Face of Boe! Oh my god! He's going to grow to become all...facey and stuff...but at least we know that he does, eventually die. -Martha staying behind I kind of expected, because I read an article, but it was still sad. I've grown to really like Martha, but it's OK, because she is going to be in the next series, but not every episode. The Doctor's going to get a new companion (Sally Sparrow would be great!) -And then the cliffhanger! I can't believe they did that! And it's going to be on the Titanic yayyyy :D
Bring on Christmas! | |

lol I thought the doctor bird was hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing lol I think with Jack - they had killed him over and over as he said 'not again' when they were about to shoot him Yeah, the poor toclafane. Although they turned evil so I guess they got their comeuppance when they were trapped at the end of the universe? I liked Martha in this ep too - I think im even going to miss her next season I wonder who itll be? I hope they wont bring in a male companion, unless its Jack, but I doubt that I loved how they brought him back by thinking of 'Doctor' at the same time - very clever and it even made me have tears in my eye lol Yeah, the doctor hates the master and doesnt trust him, but he needed him so he wasnt alone. so sad. The jack revelation was amazing! I screamed when he said it - mick nearly fell from the bed hehe But the tardis being the iceburg - brilliant hehe

| Oh, fan- tastic, a Doctor Who thread! I was unsure if there would be one on a Harry Potter forum, because as far as I know the two fandoms are quite removed from each other. I am still in two minds about the finale on Saturday. On the one hand, it was superb television: funny, emotional, packed with action and a lovely cliffhanger ending. However, the Doctor Who geek in me comes to the fore and says that it was not so good. There were so many canon errors and problems that I cannot get my head around. I watched the classic series when I was growing up back in the eighties, and have followed it through watching the 1960's and 1970's 'Who' since. I have a big problem with a lot of the issues in the final three-parter, which I will not go into here because I am sure that my rambling would bore you to death. That is not to say that I didn't enjoy it - I very much did. It just didn't quite sit well with my Classic Series sensibilities. Oh, and the ending with the - Spoiler:
Titanic crashing through the TARDIS
just isn't possible. The inside of the TARDIS exists in a different dimension to the outside, and so something crashing into the outside is not likely to come through into the inside. I suppose this will be explained away by ol' Rusty, so all I can say is Christmas cannot come soon enough!

| Good news for Martha fans! - Quote :
- The BBC has announced the first casting details for the fourth series of Doctor Who following the acclaimed end of the third series - widely hailed by critics and public alike as the best series yet.
The final episode, screened on Saturday on BBC One, saw The Doctor's companion Martha - played by Freema Agyeman - leave to care for her devastated family, and to break the cycle of unrequited love she feels for The Doctor.
The production team has now confirmed that the character is set to make a triumphant return in the fourth series.
Freema, who gained rave notices for her portrayal of Martha Jones, is also set to join the cast of BBC Three's Torchwood where she will continue to play the character in three new episodes before returning to Doctor Who in the middle of the fourth series.
Doctor Who Executive Producer and Head Writer Russell T Davies said: "Series three has gained outstanding reviews and Freema has been a huge part of that success, gaining rave notices for her portrayal of Martha.
"Now we are taking the character of Martha into brand new territory with a starring role in Torchwood."
Freema said: "I can't wait to start filming on Torchwood and the new series of Doctor Who. It's a huge new challenge for me and I'm delighted Russell has decided to expand the character of Martha Jones."
The announcement leaves a vacant space in the Tardis and a new companion for The Doctor, who will join the new series for the entire 13-week run, will be announced shortly.
The fourth series of Doctor Who goes into production this month. I for one am glad she's coming back - as a character she really grew on me. And I can't wait to hear who the new companion is! EDIT: We now know the identity of the Christmas special companion - Kylie Minogue! - Quote :
- Kylie Minogue on board for Titanic festive special.
We're all feeling lucky, lucky, lucky that Kylie Minogue is to take a major lead role in the hour-long Doctor Who Christmas special, to be broadcast in December 2007.
Especially for you, Kylie will be travelling light years to join David Tennant for the episode, Voyage Of The Damned, which starts filming in July in Cardiff.
"We are delighted and excited to announce that Kylie Minogue will be joining the Doctor," revealed Executive Producer and lead writer Russell T Davies.
"Doctor Who Xmas specials are always a joy and we feel very confident that this will be the most ambitious and best Christmas episode yet."
"It is an incredible thrill to be joining David and the entire Doctor Who production for this year's Christmas special," added Kylie. "Doctor Who enjoys a unique history and it is going to be very exciting to be a part of that."
The production team has also confirmed that the story, written by Russell, will follow on directly from the ending of series three where viewers witnessed The Titanic crash through the Tardis wallså
Full details are currently under wraps, with more information to be announced shortly. We'll confide in you as soon as we can. The fourth series of Doctor Who will be back in the Spring of 2008. There are pics at this link of DT and Kylie: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/gallery/kylie/I'm ok with this actually...Kylie doesn't give me the same sense of dread that Catherine Tate did when she turned up at the end of Doomsday last year... The Christmas special ought to be good!

Kylie - hmm. Not entirely sure about that, but they know what they're doing I suppose. Apart from that awful Absorbaloff episode, but I've conveniently decided to pretend that episode doesn't exist ^^
And yay, hello Dan - glad to see we have a new Doctor Who fan on the site XD
Amy - your signature is so very, very true. I hope he never leaves!
As others have said - roll on the Christmas episode! Oh, and the Sarah-Jane Adventures, and Torchwood ^^
