Hands up who loves the new series of Doctor Who?

I do! I think that it was fantastic - Christopher Eccleston was great as The Doctor (though I think whatsisname...OK I've had a complete mind blank, but you know who I mean...I think he'll do a great job in the forthcoming series).

Anybody see the Christmas special? With the killer Christmas tree?

One of my favourite episodes was the creepy gas mask boy "Mummy? Are you my Mummy?" Freaky-deaky or what? And that was where we met Captain Jack, who is a great character! I can't wait for his spin off series "Torchwood".

Any other Doctor Whovians? (that's what I've been told they're called )

I saw a picture in Amy's magazine and he looks very funny. From the preview last week i couldn't really see what tomorrows episode is like, but i will be good because all dr. who episodes are good. Dr.Who wears trainers!!!

The Daleks return for an all-out war with the Cybermen - but who is really behind the conflict..? or Major war between Earth and the Gelth, with Time and Space fracturing. The Cybermen in our universe have awoken and aligned themselves with the Gelth. But will the Doctor and Rose be able to prevent the Earth's destruction, or will we have to wait until the 2006 Christmas special?! And why is Rose's father appearing in the final episode of the season?


Now, i dont know if this is just totally wrong, since Amy pointed out that in an interview the writerguy or whoever said that the Daleks will not be coming back, they are gone for good, plus they were in the last episode of last series. But i thought i'd share anyway.

hmm...also arn't the cybermen gone aswell? Or do you think they are only gone completely in that parallel universe but not in the real universe?

Doctor who is slightly confusing, but brilliant!

I will step in on this train as I have now got into Dr who. I had watched a few episodes before but wasnt really into it as such, but it seems a lot of people here are always talking of it so I thought why not - and I have got to say, the episodes I watched (the last week one and the cybermen ones) were brilliant - a tad confusing but brilliant - so yes, you have one more on the dr who train!

Yes that last episode was a great one - and when the doctors voice came over the radio thing and rose realised he was alive and towing the ship with the tardis - that was so brilliant!

Is Doctor Who a show you can just pick up on? LIke if youve never seen it before, you can enjoy one episode you happen upon whilst channel surfing? Am I making any sense?

Point is, it seems like a good show and I want to see it... What day/time is it on?

Yes, it'd be pretty easy to follow from just one episode, as there's a new story each time (except in two-parters lol).

I think if you're in america, it's shown on the sci-fi channel. You'll probably be either near the end or finished with the first series, but look out for the second series, first ep of which is "The Christmas Invasion."

Anyhoos, tonight's episode? Didn't like it. Well. It was OKAY.... but every single other ep has been a hundred times better than that. The only good thing about this one was its comedy value... lol. I may be being harsh but that is how I felt

On reflection, I really liked tonight's episode.

Ok, so The Doctor and Rose weren't in it much, but the plot was very interesting, funny and different. It was fun to see the other side of things, the people whose lives the Doctor has affected. They can't keep doing the same thing over and over (not saying they do) otherwise it'd get stale.

I thought Peter Kay was great - how hilarious was it that this big fat absorbaloff had a northern accent? This alien from the plant Clom (was it that...?) spoke like a northerner

I also like how they keep mentioning Torchwood. It's something significant, they're keeping it fresh in our minds so when Captain Jack's (yay!) series starts whenever it starts everyone at least has some knowledge of it.

Looking forward to next weeks "Fear Her" - I think I read somewhere that one episode soon has Jackie accompanying the Doctor and Rose on an adventure...that could be intersting lol. Although I can't remember if that was just a rumour.... :scratch:

captain jack is having his own series? as in spin off series? I so have to watch that.

I really didnt like last nights episode - yeh it was different and different is sometimes good -but this different was bad. where was david tenent and billie piper? did they go on holiday or something - that was not dr who - dr who has david tennent **drool** I WANT DAVID TENNENT!!

OH MY GOODNESS!!

Last night's episode was so good!

But argh! Daleks AND cybermen!!! How will they get out of this? Rose and Mickey trapped in the sphere-room with the black dalek (according to my Mum, he's the leader of them after the Emperor) and The Doctor and Jackie trapped in that big room with an army of cybermen!

And cybermen EVERYWHERE!!

And Rose is leaving next week *sob* Did you see the intro? Something like "this is the story of how I died" Although this then presents a conundrum: how could she be speaking to us from beyond the grave? It looked like she was at some sort of beach or something...hmm...

And Mickey's back! Yay! And Jackie *grumbles* I'm not that big a fan of Jackie, and now she's on an adventure with them lol.

Erm..what else to say? This last two-parter being set at Torchwood Tower is lining up Captain Jack's spin-off nicely...and he's back in the third series yay.

Ooh...I just remembered...how funny when The Doctor pretended to be a ghost buster? Hehe it's moments like that makes it why I love Dr Who so much...they have all the action and seriousness intermingled with some nice light, humour.

And DT does both sides brilliantly (as did Chris Eccleston)

OK, I think I am going to end this loooong post now...wait until next week when we'll have the last episode of the series *sobs again* and I'll come here to commiserate.

DALEKS AND CYBERMEN!!!!!!!!*screams and runs away* I did scream actually, It was funny. My mum came in and goes 'Whaaa' and I was just pointing at the freaky Daleks going 'Exterminate! Exterminate!' and it was vair vair scary!!! *cries*

That done with, I loved that episode!!!!! I'm gonna cry in the next one, I know I will

The new sidekick has been announced.

It's Freema Agyeman, who played Adeola in last weeks episode (the one Yvonne pulled the earpiece and brains from).

She'll be playing Martha Jones, so not the same character as last week lol.

It'll be interesting to see how she does. Billie's been great at Rose, her shoes will be hard to fill.

I'm more interested in how the relationship between herself and the Doctor develops. Certainly, she may already have some kind of relationship of sorts with DT (the audition and all)... I dunno. Hesitations, but I'll guess we'll have to watch it first...

I read on the BBC that she won't be appearing in the Christmas Special, so we're going to have to wait a while to see her in the third series.

No companion for the Christmas episode...will be weird...the Doctor without a companion...hmmm....?

Although, I read in the BBC article, RTD said something about having a big surprise or something else in store for the special.

We'll just have to wait and see

Well. What can I say? The end of an era with Rose and The Doctor.

An AMAZING episode. So very sad though. The ending on the beach...and he didn't even say it! That's the second time he almost did (remember in "The Satan Pit"?).

Poor Rose, and poor Doctor. I'm glad she didn't die though. That would have been sad, but the way they did this was heartbreaking. Billie was so good, any doubts people have of her ability as an actress should be dispelled right now!

I loved the way the dalek/cyberman problem was resolved (apart from the devastating consequences!), although there are some cybermen left on earth (the ones that were created on Earth and so didn't have void stuff on them), and did you see the black dalek disappear before he got sucked into the void?

So there is a way for them to return.

It was so sad though.

The last episode was soooo good. I am now suffering from Doctor Who withdrawal.
Really sad when he didn't get to say he loved Rose, but how funny was it when Catherine Tate turned up on the Tardis. I was just willing her to say "Am I bovvered?"

Haha but that's the Catherine Tate thing to do, not the Runaway Bride thing to do. :D *sigh* I did cry in that episode... so much so that it WAS in the middle of downloading two days before I went to Hong Kong but I had to pause it...

Hmm... no, I did start watching with Chris. Mainly 'cause he's a Northerner like me!!! Born and bred in Salford, he was :D Even though that's like a half hour drive from me... haha. But, I have to admit... David Tennant is THE best Doctor!!!!

An interesting show as I mentioned I gave it a chance...finally but ughhh that blond girl is just blahhhhh...~puts a paper bag over her head~ THERE now maybe I can watch the show and not go 'blah' every second.

I need to watch more than 2 episodes obviously to see what the huuuuge deal is about this show, but eh...who knows..:D

Billie Piper is awesome and she was a good assistant! A very good actress as well, she did lots of stuff during that show that are very hard to act

I agree with Marie! Billie is an amazing actress - you watch Doomsday, and then tell me she can't act!

I didnt get into dr who until part way through the new season 1, though i think i would say that i am a fan now (though no fan of billie piper sorry). I thought the second season had a few dud episodes though, so i hope that the third season will be better.

here is an idea to the directors of the show - stop getting kiddies to write the scrips and design the monsters!

Whaaa no those aren't kids!!! Although I have to admit Love and Monsters was a bit.... HMM. Didn't like that episode at ALL....

But for the rest of the 2nd season, I think it was an awesome show and I really loved them all, they were just so good! I love the Satan Pit ^^ and The idiot's lantern, and Fear her, and.. bah, all of them! lol

New earth is great too ^^ I love Cassandra lol when she says: What do you think I'm gonna do to you, flap you to death? rofl ^^ and the Doctor when he's possessed by her, just so cool ^^

And I love when she/he (meh confusing) tells Rose: "Oh he's slim and a little bit foxy. You thought so too... I've been inside your head. You've been looking. You like it!" rofl and then the face Rose makes, just so hilarious

I am looking forward to seeing the new series - the last episode of the last series made me have a huge lump in my throat - it was so sad. I am not sure what i think of this new girl coming into it though. I hope they dont make the doctor fall in love with her otherwise that'll ruin what has happened with rose

I don't think they'll make the Doctor have feelings for the new assistant - you're right it would ruin it.

yay for you Im so glad that i didnt have to wait to watch it - the first of the new lot had the best story lines. The second series lacked a bit with interesting story lines, though the ending was brilliant

I've never ever seen this show before. But, I was watching a movie on Scifi last night and they're premiering(sp?) here in the United States. I think it starts this Tuesday night. Not sure, but it looks really good.
