Dinner Then A Gift (Alice + Mathew)

Alice laughed about him putting on makeup the mental image was hysterical.
"Naw you are perfect just the way you are." she said kissing him on the cheek. she froze when he talked about going back it was the sensible thing to do to get it but was it to early was it to late what were the chances everything was still back there? She wondered but figured they probably should go back.
"Ya I guess we should." she stated agreeing with him then glancing a reassuring smile over at Mathew.

She nodded after all they were vampires and could use magic which meant that they could easily get there stuff or at least Mathew could she didn't have her wand and UN like some lucky witches she could not use magic without her wand. Charms was never her specialties she could learn them pronounce them perfectly but for some odd reason was unable to do very well with them. Alice looked around the room then focused back on Mathew she wanted more blood but couldn't pry herself to ask for some and even if he just gave some to her she didn't think she could get herself to drink it.
"Lead the way." she state but then remembered she had blindfolded him meaning he didn't know where it was and you couldn't apperate to it though they could apperate to her house and then from there walk.

At first Alice's thought process was what the fastest route but then was as she thought everything through it might just be better not to try and get there so fast.
"I guess were walking then." she stated standing up and grabbing his hand.

"I'm sorry I know this isn't how you wanted to spend winter vacation." she stated with a slight smirk it was all she could muster she felt bad that the date she planned ended tribally that she managed to get him involved in all of it that she didn't think to check for any monsters she just overall felt guilty.

Alice gave him a fake smile back she didn't believe him the date was a complete disaster but she tried not to focus on that. She kissed him on the cheek and nodded.

"We should get going." she stated softly. As she looked into his eyes she gave a real smile and said;

"I love you I am so happy you didn't get hurt." she mumbled mainly to herself. She got closer to him and braced herself for the bumping around from traveling by floo powder. She never did like the floo powder network it was almost worst then apperating but apperating was the worst on her list of transportation.

Mathew smiled when she kissed him. He brushed back a few hairs covering her face and said "I love you too and I'm glad that your doing a lot better than before." he said thinking about the head injury she received. Mathew was surprised to hear the extend of her injury but he was glad that they had doctors there to help out. It was strange however that there was so many doctors tending to one person. "Plus nothing could hurt me. I'm as tough as stone." he chuckled.

He wrapped his arm tightly around Alice and took a step into the green flames after saying his destination. He felt himself being spun around and rocked against Alice as he made his way through the Floor Network, than just as quickly as it started it stopped. Mathew felt his feet hit the ground and saw him standing in Alice's house.

"There that wasn't so bad." Mathew said. "Now to head to the lake."

I don't know why I bother with him sometimes he should know things can hurt him though he can't seem to grasp this. she thought to herself giving him a smile before they went through the flames being bumped and pushed it felt like being ran over by a car and the lack of blood she had drunken didn't help. they landed in her house which was a complete mess shattered glass broken furniture there had been some things going on in her house and that why she never bothered to have him step inside she was rather embarrassed of it all. She bit her lip looking around. She pressed her hand to her head it throbbed from the floo network for some reason all sorts of magical transportation was bad in one way or another.
"Um this way." she said taking his wrist and trying to lead him out of the house.

"I was redecorating." she stated stiffly finally getting to the door and leading him out of her house. those were the same words Jona used when everyone showed up at her house and it was a mess because of her mental battle but they sounded different coming from Alice, they sounded less reasonable robotic almost where as when Jona said them it flowed off her tongue and for a brief moment you believed her until you took another look around. She locked and closed the door as it slammed shut. Alice gave him a half smile and started walking towards the waterfall.
"It's to the left." she added on looking over in the direction where it was how stupid of an idea it was to blind fold him up to that point.

Alice walked closer to the clothes where hopefully her wand was. She was a few feet away from the objects and thus not far away from the shore when she froze watching the waves and Mathew looking over her surroundings ten times.
"I can't." she stated taking a couple of steps backwards like a scared child. She wanted to go forward see dip her feet in the water and relax or at least get close enough to the edge to grab her wand but she couldn't bring herself to it. She looked from Mathew to the tide the water crashing into the pool below that seemed so calm at the moment and when you lived in a world like this you typically end up being more suspicious about nice perfect things then ones that are clearly dangerous.

Alice kept her eyes on the water to make sure nothing would come out and attack him the last thing she needed was Mathew getting injured. She took a quick glance at Mathew when he said he found her wand and she flashed a girlie smile at him but continued to watch the water. She felt foolish for feeling so afraid of getting close to the water it was a ridiculous and the fact she contemplated made her feel slightly more childish.
"Thank you." she stated her voice soft and sincere though until he was standing next to her she would remain concerned for his safety.
"Did you get your things?" she asked not looking at him waiting to see what would happen if anything.

Alice watched as he slowly started to panic over what a deck of playing cards?
"Why are they so important?" she asked her voice soft and sweet. She wondered why a simple deck of cards where so valuable she figured it wasn't monetary like these are solid gold (who would carry that around with them.) she figured it was something from a personal experience but she just couldn't put her finger on why a deck of cards was so precious. She figured it was like her charm bracelet she tried getting rid of it but the sentimental value was too much.

Alice grabbed her hand after blowing her bangs out of her face. She felt bad that he had lost his father and never really got to know him. She didn't know what to say however everything she came up with just sounded either odd or mean or intolerant or pitiful either way she didn't want to say anything. She smiled and gave him a peck on the check. She almost offered for him to go to her house and have some coffee when she realized number one she didn't want him in her house and number two they didn't drink coffee so it would be so out of place she was sure he would even look at her funny.
"Let’s take a walk." she suggested as the sun slowly started to roll up from behind the horizon as if it was someone stretching from a late night of a good sleep. She glanced back and saw a small glimpse of something but they were far enough back to be safe and they had their wands they were more than fine and would be able to out run it so there was no need to fear if there was something there at all.

Alice smiled and took his hand in hers. She looked to the stars it was after all a beautiful night and spending it with Mathew defiantly helped.

"You are to perfect for Me." she stated looking into his eyes that where a golden color where she guessed hers where dark and demented looking. She looked down at her feet and jumped back as something curled around his ankle.

"Um... ma...Mathew." she stated trying to remain calm and pointed down to see if he would follow. She slowly pulled her wand out slowly and tried not to make any sudden movement to frighten the beast or Mathew.

Alice took a deep breath.
"Stay still Mathew." she instructed through gritted teeth as the creature closed its grip around his ankle. She pointed her wand not at the tentacle holding his leg but rather the arm stretched out of the lake.

"Bombarda!" she yelled as the creature wailed and sulked its bit of an arm into the water. The green slime like liquid coated the grass and she wrinkled her nose in disgust. Kneeling down she tried to pry the piece off of his leg. After accomplishing wriggling the slimy piece of flesh off her stood up looking at her. There was a blood like substance covering her entire body neck down. Looking over at Mathew she realized how ridiculous she looked because he looked the same. Alice couldn't help but laugh.

"Maybe not the best spell to use huh?" she asked through short sharp chuckles.

Alice laughed as he tried to get the thick liquid off of his clothes only to have no success. She didn't notice the unsightly smell until he pointed it out and at that point realized that they smelled absolutely terrible.

"We should change." she agreed crinkling her nose in disgust. She put her hand on his shoulder and started leading him away from the water.

"We can head to my house unless you want to apperate to yours... I don't know which one would be quicker." she stated looking down at the wired mush that covered them. She wondered if it would stain it wasn't a big deal if it did but it could and then she would never be able to where this again because she would know 'oh ya I blew up a tentacle in this' which would disgust her so it would collect dust in her closet. She smiled at him shaking her head to the side slightly.

"We look ridiculous I would love to see what people think of us because of this." Alice added really just thinking it but it managed to slip past her lips and into the air as well.

"I don't know what it is I highly doubt it is a new species but then again we are in a magical world who knows what could be going on... and I doubt the squid at school has ever tried to eat a vampire so I think it's safe to say it's not that." Alice stated they really should just ask his mother instead of pondering the idea. She followed after him taking his hand.

"Whatever it was it wasn't there a year ago... I wonder how it got in there?" she asked but moved onto another subject not wishing to revisit the details of the creature in her mind. It was terrifying enough the first time. It was silent for a bit of time as she tried to move away from all that had happened but the guts on their clothes didn't exactly help. She honestly didn't think it smelled that awful there were plenty of things worse so she wondered why Mathew would find the stench so wretched. At this point her mind was already reeling out on every option and as ideas of tests and experiments popped into mind she started to contemplate the effects it would have in a potion maybe this creature wasn't such a bad mistake.

Alice thought back to how he had taken her out to dinner and how this all started at a nice restaurant and now they ended covered in goo mud and who knows what other kind of filth. "You sly dog know what I just realized you never answered my question." she stated and half expected him to ask what question but before she let him retaliate she continued on. "Why where you in the united states to find that restaurant?" she clarified asking the question for the second time now more curious then ever not only the answer to the original question but to why he didn't tell her back then in the first place. Before they got a chance however to pursue this conversation they had reached her house.

"Bathroom is upstairs to the left and I think I might have some men’s robes lying around her someplace." she instructed wondering why they went here because she might not have clothes for him which was an odd thought and she quickly dismissed it.

The idea of someone cross breeding animals was something that sent shivers down her spine, and one that would want to eat vampires clearly this thing whatever it was no natural.

"Don't bother washing your clothes." she told him for two reasons. Number one it could be poisoned and she didn't want him to handle it any longer, number two it would just be easier to use magic, and lastly she wanted to remove some of it from his robes incase it was useful in anyway shape or form. Alice remained silent as he explained and didn't know what to say so she decided that she would remain silent until he finished explaining afterwards. She walked up to her bedroom and looked to the back of her massive walk in closet and found some old men robes probably from before he was born in the back but it wasn't any different than they are now.

"Here" she said walking back over to him and handing him the robes. The question she expected him to ask was why she had these in her house but figured he wouldn't even think about it so she didn't worry.

Alice placed her hand on his shoulder and spoke softly. "Mathew I warn you not to peruse information about your Father you will only end up getting hurt." she told him unaware of why but it seemed like the correct thing to do she had a feeling.

"You don't want to know about him and your mother had warned you and it is for a reason so as much as you want to know it's better not to." she warned him it might have been her own issues with her father figure that she didn't want anything bad to happen to him but she had the oddest feeling that it wasn't a good idea.

"And a psyche ward is probably what she was locked away in and I think that you should transfer her to a wizarding world one that specializes in cases like that because I doubt that those muggles can handle this correctly." Alice explained though it was a bit embarrassing to have information on this sort of things. She quickly ran up to her room changed and cleaned off the slime. She took her and his clothes and threw them in the bathtub in the bathroom she never used it and they would be out of the way for a bit. She moved into the living room and with a flick of her wand cleaned up her broken room that had shattered glass and splintered wood but now it was back to its spotless appearance.

"Well no what?" she asked everything was taken care of and she was out of ideas.

Alice giggled and is she could her cheeks would have been bright red. She took his hand and spun around to look at him in the eye but wrapped his arms back around her waist.
"Well mister you sure kept me waiting didn't you?' she asked the slight accent she never got rid of escaping out with her words.

"You know I have been waiting it's not right to keep your lady waiting like that." she teased kissing him on the lips though it was more than just a kiss more than just a single peck it was better it was utter bliss and she felt like she was falling as their lips met but she didn't care because the sensation of falling only brought her adrenalin levels up further. She moved into Mathew’s arms and put her arms around his shoulder... well placed them on his shoulder they were too big to wrap her thin arms around.

"I love you." she stated her eyes shutting as she just wished to remain in this peaceful state of mind. She only wanted him and in this single moment she felt selfless and no longer stressed or worried because as long as she had him everything would work out. The only problem with this is the moment eventfully passes and the bliss along with it but she clung on hard fighting to keep it with her. She didn't want to open her eyes at risk of him being gone or the thought that seeing reality would bring it back so she stood solitary not moving not talking in his arms.

She smiled hearing his reaction he had always a better way of saying the same thing. Maybe it was his voice against her ear drums or the tone in his words but whatever it was no matter what he said he always had said things better. Even more then better the best way you could say anything was how he said things and it pleased him just to hear his voice so close to her.

"Today was an eventful day wasn't it?" Mathew asked and Alice nodded her head not wishing to speak.

"It was." she finally stated opening her eyes and looking up at him again.

"Just a bit longer." she stated hanging onto him hoping he wouldn’t let go.

"What are we doing Mathew?" she asked not referring to this moment but referring to life and the future.

"What are we going to do later now?" she asked unsure of why the thought came to her at that moment but suddenly she was wondering all these questions she never bothered to think and her mind was set of in other tangents once again the moment fading till it disappeared.

Alice giggled at his joke he had a tendency of doing it and she shouldn't encourage it but she did only because most of the time it is funny and she would hate for him to stop.

"But that will be it won’t it Mathew... us two are own place maybe moving around a bit but always us just us... Christmas with are family it will never be simple because it is us but that will be it just us forever." she paused it wasn't accusing or harsh but gentle and soft.

"I want to spend forever with you but will our life ever be beyond this will it ever be different?" Alice finished looking over to him dragging him over to her bed and they sat down on it. She opened her mouth about to continue when a thought occurred to her. It had nothing to do with what they were talking about it was completely random but the thought was so urgent and fresh in her mind she had to continue off onto this other tangent.

"Mathew... has any of your other family members on your dad side been injured or not heard from in a while?" She asked her voice hoarse from going from not talking to talking more and more.

Maybe I am over thinking or over analyzing... or under analyzing... it can't be I mean who would... what would... it's impossible, but if it isn't he could be in danger his whole life everything he has could be at risk... but it isn't I mean like he said she found out to much and that is what caused it. But she only said magic did this to her but what if she meant literally magic caused this like a spell because there are spells that cause that... dark spells but spells all the same... what she said can't be taken literally she was off her rocker and it's not like I was there I can't judge this based off of a fraise Mathew had stated your just over thinking this all... maybe we should make sure though just in case I would hate for my suspicions to be fulfilled. she thought to herself biting her lip in thought as she often did.

"I suppose your right it's just... I should be dead, not that I want to die but if you think about all the close calls I have had I defiantly should be and I don't think death would be happy with me toying with him like that. I mean I have almost died..." she paused counting on her fingers "At least seven times. I'm not sure how this all plays in together but I feel like it does somehow some way it all fits together and I think fate is torked about it." Alice stated holding him close to her she was scarred to be honest. She had spent days removing dangerous objects from her house just because she felt paranoid that she was going to die.

"I'm sure it's a faze but it's like everyone else I know who is a vampire never seems to worry about it like they never went through this or never had to deal with it I’m just exhausted." she finished not sure why she was rambling this all out to him she never really bothered to but now it seemed to slip out and as she reached the last word she wished she could pull it all back she sounded completely insane as always but maybe just maybe Mathew would ignore this but she wondered.

"Peculiar." she mumbled referring to what he had said about his family. Maybe this could have been planned but come on there is no way of knowing unless you stalk his family down and then how crazy would you be just let it go it is not worth an investigation if what you think is right you shall know shortly. Alice thought to herself calming as she flopped back onto the rest of the bed her head laying in the middle and her legs dangling above the floor.

Alice smirked at his comment he always knew what to do what to say to bring a smile to her face and even when she didn't want to he managed to poke in the right spot to get the halfway sideways grin she gave him most of the time.

"Your right... you’re always right you know?" she stated looking over to him with eyes of gold. she started to turn her attention to the ceiling above her there was nothing special about it no color no cracks or patterns nothing visually stunning about the above wall be she found herself passing time by starring up at it with nothing in her mind just laying on her bed staring at the ceiling. Now that she thought about it, it must be the oddest most boring thing someone could do but when you have forever to waist why not.

"Can you stay here tonight?" she asked him sitting up again facing him once more. She had no idea what had got a hold of her to posses her to say it but she really did want him to stay but she didn't know if he would.

"Thanks" Alice mumbled quietly taking his hand in hers.
"Mathew..." she paused was the question she wanted to ask worth asking. After about two seconds of consideration she decided that she would ask it eventually so why not now. "If or when I die... what will you do?" she asked not sure what she wanted to hear did she want to hear that he would morn but then move on or did she want to hear that he would be devastated and never get over it she wasn't sure she didn't exactly like parts of each one of them. If she died did she want him to have a life afterwards or what? Then the thought occurred into her mind. What would she do if he died? He was her one love the one man she had ever completely fallen for. Could she even think about moving on and if she could would she? So Many questions ran through her head and it hurt her head a little bit but she ignored it and waited for his response pushing the thoughts out of her mind again. She had been doing that a lot lately if she didn't like something she just pushed it away the only problem with this is eventually they all came back flooding like a wave crashing down on a paddle boat. Sometimes it came randomly other times when she thought something else she wanted to push away and she had to start all over going through each one until it was gone. Alice smiled at him pulling a pillow towards her head.

"Well that’s good." Alice commented to his response to her question he always knew the right answer and she was happy to hear that response but wondered if that would be what actually would happen and she believed it.

"You won’t so we won’t have to worry about that." she stated mater of factly for several reasons. Number one it just wasn't logical she was a couple hundred years older than him and she strongly doubted he would as he stated kick the bucket first. Secondly she didn't want to think about what would happen if he died first she had seen so much death and pain in her life she couldn't bear the thought of him dyeing of her seeing him pass away it just wouldn't happen under her watch, and defiantly not after the first time he almost died the thought of that happening again was preposterous in her eyes.

"You know I used to right poetry and paint and all sorts of creative things like that... they were never really happy but neither was my life back then... I think I might change that, write again paint again but this time about brighter things." she finished when she realized she wasn't just thinking them she was saying them she smiled and kissed him on the cheek. "Do you remember that day when we went up to the common rooms and I sketched a picture of your profile in my sketch book and I gave you that one picture? Do you still have it?" she asked it wasn't exactly relevant but it ran through her mind so being the chatter box she was she had to ask.

"Well I'm glad... It's just" she paused thinking over her words taking a deep and unneeded breath. she couldn't say it it was glued to tongue grasping on for dear life. thoughts circled in her mind. This happened way to much lately, she was just too worried.

"Mathew all it is, is that love comes around once in a life time they say... But what happens if we have many life times? I mean what if you stop finding my spazztic attitude charming and what if you start to think this was a bad idea. You say you could never through it away but what if one day you want to..." she took another pause to gather her self letting the silence between them fill the room. That is life isn't it? she thought but didn't say it because she knew he would reject this thought anyway. She wished she had never brought it up.

"never mind... I was just being a little dramatic." she said in a perked up attitude. "Lets go do something, anything" Alice insisted wishing for a physical outlet for the extreme quantity of unnecessary emotions she had.
