Dinner Then A Gift (Alice + Mathew)

Alice eyes fluttered open to the snow covered meadow it sparkled in the moon light. Yet the temperature was so warm and not how it looked. There was a blanket neatly placed most likely for them to sit on but she doubted it was really needed.

"Mathew it's wonderful how do you manage to surprise me time after time again?" she asked Peking him on the cheek it was beautiful and she couldn't help but smile from ear to ear. She got closer to him.

"Please tell me that this is my other present and being with you is my Christmas miracle." she said looking up into his eyes. They were golden matching the decorations that were in the restaurant. She batted her eyes out of habit waiting for him to say yes this I your present though she knew this wouldn't be that he simply couldn't just leave it at that.

Ugh how can he do this to me when I don't have anything to give to him when it is in the mail? It's cruel that my owl is so slow leaving me to look like a selfish girl that takes advantage of her boyfriend. Alice thought still remaining a cool composure.

Alice giggled at his response when he placed the box in her hand.
"Oh I don't know this is a good box I don't think you could beat this." she said sarcastically.
"You made what’s inside this box?" Alice asked skeptical what could anyone make that would fit inside a box that could fit in her palm. She looked up at him then slowly opened the box that seemed to fall apart in her hand. Then her face turned to shock when she saw it.
"Mathew it's beautiful how the heck did you manage this?" she asked sliding it onto her finger it fit perfectly.
"Mathew it's perfect oh my gosh!" she exclaimed wrapping her arms around his neck in a huge hug she was speechless and unsure what to say not to mention kind of confused to how he managed to make a gorgeous ring like this under fifty bucks. She smiled wide enough to show her fangs which was a rare smile.
"Mathew I love you but you have to stop giving me nice things." she said in a joking manner though it was true he should really stop spoiling her as much as he has been.

"Ok deal and good." she said with a smile stepping closer to him. She liked being in his arms it was comforting like if she was with him nothing could hurt them. She knew this wasn't true but felt secure anyway.

"And you are going to have to wait for your present because I was looking for a perfect moment unaware that you were going to take me to the meadow all dazzled up or to a restaurant with beautiful lights and romantic scenery." she explained kissing him wrapping her arms around his neck. It really was his fault that he got such a passionate kiss he was the one who set this all up and spoiled her she couldn't help but give him some sort of thank you beyond what words could describe. Her eyes closed as the rush ran through her spine like an adrenalin rush only it last longer and was more satisfying.

(This is getting really hard to keep this from getting dirty.)

Alice smiled at his response about being patient it was true he was more patient then her and that was a fact she wanted thing done right fast and the first time. She didn't want to be the one to break the snogging session but the longer she kissed him the longer she felt other urges that she had to resist until they were officially married. Then again that could end up being a very long time from now so was it worth it. Her eyes opened to see his golden yellow eyes look down at her with love. Moments like this proved what she already knew that they were meant for each other and no matter what got in the way they would manage to get around it and stay with each other.

"Ya that would be nice." she said grabbing his hand and dragging him over to the blanket where she sat down a smile beaming so bright it might as well be the sun. She took a deep breath looking up at the sky she loved it. It was almost as if an artist had painted it there for them and them alone. She didn't know what to say what would a normal person then again when she wasn't normal is when it seems like he loved her the most which was good because she was far from it.

"It's beautiful." Alice stated simply blinking twice to bat her long lashes as if this ever made a difference to anything.

Alice winked at him she knew that one was coming it made her wonder if it was instinct now to just throw out complements all the time. She moved closer to him.

"You’re so romantic." she said pecking him on the lips restraining her from going too far like she might have done a little bit ago.

"How do you think of these things?" she asked wondering how he managed to think of the meadow and the restaurant and everything. She was never very good at planning romantic evenings that’s why Mathew always ended up taking her out and not the other way around but that could also be because he was raised with good moral and was gentlemen and that’s what usually happened.

She rolled her eyes.
"You do realize like ever girl at Hogwarts had a crush on you at one point so I guess I am the lucky one for getting to you first." she said giggling a bit. It was a different one that she hadn't let free for a very long time. The last time she giggled like that was one she was truly happy when her family wasn't broken when she was a little girl. Bashfully she looked away even though she couldn't blush it had the same idea as it. Then she looked back at him beaming.

"Well let’s hope that those ideas keep coming otherwise I will have to be creative which we all know is not exactly a good thing." Alice said leaning her head on his shoulder it was like tamed fireworks as she looked at the sun peek over the plain in front of them.

"Hmm" she thought about his offer.

"Ok and even if it is horrible you have to pretend like it is the most amazing thing ever... at least pretend." she repeated. He brushed hair behind her ear and she smiled wider over at him.

"And yes James bond there are other girls at school and everyone of them has had a crush on you at one point." she explained realizing she used another muggle term which she needed to stop doing because then she had to explain what the term was and how it applied to him at that point. Maybe someday she will come up with a pet name for him that will stick.

"Oh and if I do out do you just say I didn't." she added thinking about the date thing the thought almost excited her a bit.

Alice laughed at him.
"Act however you want." she said looking over at the sky again the sun was fully up now shinning down on them both.

"Look the sun rose for you." she joked with a smile she was glad she got some sort of complement in before he decided to say something like that.

"So does mean it is morning now?" she asked usually inside when the sun raised so her never exactly payed attention to it. In her mind her life was just one long day since she never slept the morning never cam and neither did night it just remained the same always.

Alice kissed him on the cheek.
"Now it is" she stated in a flirty manor. She thought about how she was going to say this the date was over but it seemed like they had not spent very much time together but then again she could spend every moment with him and feel that they didn't spend enough time with each other. She sighed.

"Does this mean I have to leave?" she asked with pouty lips she didn't want to leave him not now.

talk about sounding desperate. she told herself but clearly she never took this into consideration because at least in her mind she seemed like a clingy desperate handful. That’s what she liked about Mathew the fact that he didn't seem to care about this that he just loved her for these reasons he was the perfect man and she felt lucky just being able to spend time with him. She fittled with the new ring it felt out of place on her hand she wasn't used to wearing rings but after a few days it would feel odd not to have it on.

"I would love to but I have to baby sit Ava Jona is going through a tough time and I promised to take her off her hands for a bit. Plus she loves visiting Auntie Alice." she said with a smile remembering the little child that seemed to have to bright of a mind to outweigh both of them together.

"But if you meet at my house at midnight I will have a surprise for you... Yes it is my turn to surprise you." she said with a smile she had something up her sleeve and new it would drive Mathew crazy for the rest of the day but that was the way she wanted it. First she would be able to give him his gift and then she had something brilliant planned out for the rest of the evening.

"Oh and your hint don't wear something you aren't going to want get wet." she stated before hugging him and giving him a slight wink which she was never good at.

"That depends do you look good in your swimming trunks?" she asked in a joking manor.
"I'm kidding you look good in everything." Alice said with a smile this was going to be fun just too at least mess with him for the little part she could though the whole day of suspense would probably result in a few muggle phone calls or some sort of communication such as that. She bit her tongue to stop from saying anything else because she knew she wasn't good at keeping secrets and defiantly not from Mathew. She was positive he would pry it out of her before the end of the day.

"Just remember midnight and something that you are not afraid to get wet... And of Corse yourself but other than that there is nothing to worry about ok." she explained kissing him softly on his cheek. She beamed what would he be thinking would happen what would he be thinking? she wondered coming up with all sorts of bizarre things he could be imagining.

"No." she said smugly figuring that’s all he could think of at the moment.
"And I am not going to sit here playing twenty questions with you so you can figure it out." Alice added stubbornly.
"You have cleaning to do anyway which should distract you long enough." she said kissing him gracefully again she liked leaving him guessing it made things all the more interesting.
"I know you don't want to leave neither do I trust me but you have to the depression in life." Alice said overly dramatic and way to cheerful like how she was when she was younger a new born vampire one who had just realized what the world really looked like.

Alice giggled at him she could tell he was determined to figure everything out but this time she was determined not to have him figure out however.
"Love is complicated." she said before getting up sticking her hand up to help him as well.
"Walk me home?" she asked batting her eye though she knew his mom was waiting on him she wanted to spend a little bit more time with him while she could before that night or morning suppose.

Alice placed her hand in his.
"Why what a gentleman." she said with a smile standing close to him realizing that when they walk out of the area charmed for them it would be freezing but maybe not because the sun was out so it wouldn't be that bad not like it really would bother them that much she just preferred hot over cold. She looked over to him what exactly was he going to try and do? she wondered blinking her eyes so she wouldn't forget about it often she forgets to act human when she isn't acting which leads to problems when she is pretending to be.

"Hmm good one and that is number two." she said referring to playing twenty questions which he seemed to be playing.
"Kind of." she said with a smile this wasn't helpful to him and she knew it but the fact was true it wasn't part of her house due to the fact that it was small but it was part of her property.
"Any other questions Alex Trebeck?" she asked basically hitting herself in the head by using a muggle term again she should really hang out with more people of her species.
"He is a game show host in America the game is called jeopardy if you didn't know." she said wondering if he knew that one sometimes he knew what she was referring to but other times not a clue.

"Ya I push a button and in my backyard an ocean appears where I go hunt sea lions." she joked watching him he would never figure out what was going to happen not in a million years.

"Do you even know where my house is?" Alice asked looking around.

"Because it is in that direction." she stated giggling she was pretty sure that he had always appeared there because he was good at it where she ran everywhere because she didn't prefer to apperate but that was because she couldn't at least not very well. She started to drag him in the right direction or what she thought was the right direction.

"You would lose your head if it wasn't attached to your head." she added on shaking her head slightly.

Alice giggled.
"I figured that much but don't you think it would be useful to maybe know where it is?" she asked with a smile.
"That’s ok if we get lost we are lost together." she added walking close to the edge of the forest.
"Have you ever heard of the polar bear club?" Alice asked figuring he didn't most of the stuff she said relating to muggles they never went over in muggle studies it was all a bit odd but because of experience she knew a decent amount about the human life.

"No far from it but in cold places like Alaska and stuff like that they have a thing called the polar bear club and what they do is whoever thinks they can do this runs in or jumps into freezing cold water and they give you like a towel and stuff like that any way I was thinking how weather doesn't really effect Vampires so if they went and did this they could totally be in the polar bear club and it wouldn't even bother them right?" she said basically voicing a random thought she was sure Mathew didn't follow all of that for she said it way to fast but it didn't really matter she just wanted to say something.

Alice giggled.
"Imagine a muggle coming and learning are culture they send messages on owls why not just use the postal system?" she asked imitating a muggle.
"I suppose after they were done spazzing out they would find it all funny to them huh?" she asked with a smile though some of the things Muggles did was a bit odd.

"Exactly" she said glad she made her point. They had made their way out of the forest now and close to her house.
"Were getting close so did you remember every turn we took so that way you know which way to go now?" she joked knowing there was no possible person who could remember all of that unless they were actually focusing which there was no way Mathew was.

"What do you do for Christmas like do you have family over or is it just a few people or whatever? I know it is kind of an odd question to ask and a day late but I guess I am just curious." Alice said waiting for his response to this.

"I guess I don't really know Jona has always been my family but then slowly people joined and then left. We don't really have a set plan I guess on the actual day nothing actually happens because we all celebrate Christmas with certain people who can't be with other people so we actually have like seven chaotic Christmases. but then those died down... people became involved with other stuff and then like five sixths of the people are vampires so eating was no longer apart and then gift exchange died because when everyone has a boat load of savings what are you suppose to by them. Usually we end up going to a ballet or play or something like that." she finished Christmas became more part of the religious aspect after a certain point and no longer the ceremony most took place in.

Alice giggled it was nice of him to make things for Silvia.
"Na I think it would be a bit awkward in a sense if I had Christmas with you guys." she said as they approached her house. They were now standing on the porch of her house.
"We are here I guess." she said not wanting to leave she had such a great time when she was with him no matter what it was and the idea of having to wait to see him made her a bit sad.
"The bad part about this is that whenever you have something to look forward to the day moves to slow." she said with a smile it was true or at least it seemed like it.

"Ok I will just have to keep busy.” she said pecking him on the cheek.
"Bye sweetie see you later if you didn't die from cleaning too much." Alice said with a smile that stretched from ear to ear.
"Well you wouldn't want to keep Oddie waiting she might worry." she said knowing Oddie was probably wondering what was going on but she might just assume that he is out with her still.

Alice laughed at Mathew’s jokes and she smiled as he kissed her. She stood there by her door for a few minutes watching as he dashed off. Digging in her bag she looked for a key.
"What’s the point in even having a key?" she asked herself as she pulled out her wand.
"Alo hamora." she stated and the door unlocked. She twisted the knob and opened it. Her house looked so bare during the days and this aggravated her.
"Now I need to get Ava and get ready for the date." Alice stated, when she was alone she often said her thoughts out loud.

At midnight....

Alice was ready and dressed she had everything lain out and couldn't wait for Mathew to arrive. She glanced down at her charm bracelet the one that had reminded her of so much pain but couldn't manage to get rid of it. Her un locked it and set it on the table in the middle of the room she would hate to lose it while she was out.
"I wonder if he wore is bathing suit?" she asked herself waiting for him to come.
