| Loll....that's a REALLY good storyline! I like angsty Dramione, it doesn't happen much... well, yes, but a different kind of angst. Oh, and there's those ones where Hermione and Draco have to work together on some project or another, and they get to find stuff out about each other, and somehow come to love each other. *shakes head* I've read too many Dramione fics... But, one of the best, apart from JGADC, has GOT to be Two to Tango. So original. So inspiring! FANTASTIC! Mainly because of the passion. I think that's what a good Dramione fic needs. Passion. | |

Draco is a Death Eater and he'd sooner kill poor Hermione than kiss her. What is the deal with this ship?? I don't get why it's so popular. It's not even hinted at in the Harry Potter books. I think I missed something along the way??

| Fanon or not, it's not a logical ship. Cedric being raised from the dead and returning to his beloved Cho is more believable than Draco confessing his undying love to a muggle-born girl whom he had hoped the Basilisk would have killed.
Dracomione is just not believable. He's a cowardly, snotty evil guy who can not possibly care about anything other than his own selfish self.
Sorry but I can't see how this is even a popular ship...

Sorry but I can't see how this is even a popular ship... Your saying that like we Dramione fans think Draco is going to walk right in front of Hermione pronounce his undying love for her, and for them to live happily ever after. We don't believe that at all. I've read LOOOOOONG Dramione stories, so the relationship takes a while to work. We accept that. It can't work from the get-go like Romione. EVeryone accepts Romione, all their family would, and all the order, all their friends. But no one wants to accept Dramione. But if they work through that, and work through the struggles, and stay together, it can become a beautiful relationship that melts your soul causing you to believe that is the most wonderful story ever... SO much hardship and fighting, but they made it, and the whole story was worth it XD I love those satissfying stories. But of course you have to find the right Dramione stories out there. SOme of them were horrible. I remember going insane for a while, because I only found bad stories that were completly out of character. And the reviews fo rthe stories were like OMG I lyk LOVE THIS! Hurry up and Update!!!!111 NOW!" And I looked at that and was astonished, because this is what happened. Hermione somehow sees Draco. Draco says Hermione is hot. Hermione laughs. They just go someplace like to the movies, and he kisses her. Ugh... I almost died. DIED. I almost did, because I kept finding other sotries like that... until I finally found a good one and calmed myself down.

Cheetah, I actually read a good Dramione fic when I didn't know about all of the fanfic sites and was limited to MuggleNet. I had already read all of the Ron/Hermione fics that looked interesting and was desperate. It didn't turn me into a Dramione shipper (obviously) but yeah, I can sort of see how it would work...but only in a fic.

| I dont go much in shipping in fanfictions, though i do read a few different ones, but i have got to say that dramione is appealing for a fanfiction which is not in canon. Because it is so unlikely as they are two different characters, writers can do a lot with the situation. Yes, i hate it when people write how they suddenly figure out they love each other THAT ISNT REAL!!!!!!!!!!! I think that this ship needs to be looked in detail to make it a good ship | |

It jsut has that weird affect on me, when I read a well written one i go through all the emotions of the character. It doesnt do that as strongly as other ships that I read.

| I know what you mean Cheetah! I like writing Dramione stories but my longest one is rather twisted and also includes other ships as well.
When I was writing mine I was laughing, crying and feeling angry so I went through all the emotions to try to create something that would get the readers hooked. I have been working on the sequel to it. Dramione and Glaise are my two very favorite ships.

| Now I'm not normally a fanon shipper but this is one of the fanon ships that I don't mind, and dare I say it...interesting to read. I've been contemplating challenging my writing skills and doing a Dramione fic, but I think to write a realistic one would be very difficult.
I mean, how do you get over the initial hatred between the two of them in a one-shot? I don't think I could do that, and I'm not 'ready', shall we say, to attempt a longer fic with this pairing.
So how do you keep it realistic? Without making either character completely out of character? Any thoughts?

| one way, that i find very creative and interesting, is to go with the 'several-years-later' aproach. You can be creative about how they, although mainly draco considering his prejudices, grow up from children/young adults to mature people. Maybe something happend between draco and his father that made him change his views (kinda cheesy), maybe not.
another common aproach (this is where they both become head boy and head girl in most fics for this reason) is the 'overcomming a challenge by working together'. Partners in potions, solving a mystery, serving head duties together. most fans see this as a way to get the two closer together, getting to know one another, with out having the characters become wishy washy ooc.
wow i'm rambling...heh, but there are tons more....many cliches....that could work.

| I also know of another thing that works- well for me in my stories.
You see, there's sometimes sad/tragic/ angsty events that seem to tie the two together or at least put them on common grounds. I think they need a long time to even get beyond hatred of each other to a kind of truce. Most cases Draco is the one who makes it hard-which he IS the one you realllly have to be careful about writing cuz sometimes you can get him out of character if you're not careful. You can't make him sweet and cuddly right away. He's got to have that rude, obnoxious, meanness about him. Also keeping him in character involves him making many mistakes. He can't simply fall for Hermione just in a snap. He needs to have his walls broken down, dig into his character but also keep in mind he has an attitude. I try to be careful when I rp or write him. You have to put yourself in his place and think okay dad's a death eater, can't be friends with harry ron etc have to bully people, keep the goons at his side etc. Portray him with cowardice, underhanded sneakyness. As you move on with the story you will have to gradually take away his negative areas and replace with very slow subtle changes. Not overnight prince charming. I hate that! When you have a complex character like Draco you HAVE to have balance. Not too evil like Voldemort but not cute and cuddly like Harry and Ron. You have to give Draco his very own personality. And not lose it as the story goes on. Draco is Draco. Dramione can be written but it's hard and personally I love it! I don't proclaim to be the best Dramione writer. On the contrary I am bad about falling into the cliche` of having them get together at the wrong time. In one shots especially. One-shots are the worst for making Dramiones. Sorry I'm rambling but anyway you guys get the idea.

| Yeah I usually despise one-shots for Dramione. The relationships take so long to work in Dramione that it usually doesn't seem believable in one-shots... Its long drawn out growing relationship XD | |

| This ship is another one of the ones that is taking the risk and not playing it comfortable - which as long as it is written well, keeping in with the characterisations etc, then the ship could work in fandom. | |
