Draco/Hermione

I'm shocked someone's not started a thread on this yet. You, Kitty, of all people, should be somewhat enthusiastic

I'm not obsessed with this ship, but I'm all for it. What draws me to it is the fact that it's forbidden. It's the whole 'opposites attract' thing, and I guess I go with that - while Draco's the bad boy (yes, I like bad boys ), Hermione's this good little girl who's never stepped out of her moral bounds except for when she's with Harry and/or Ron. Someone different for a change then.

I know some of you here are all for it. Some, not so much (*cough* Planty*cough*).. Darn, I actually coughed then. But hey, tell me what you think!

JGaDC is the Dramione Bible in my opinion. That story is what turned me into a Dramione fan.
Kitty's a good writer and I'm taking pointers from her but I'm not anywhere close to being able to write like that. But I have my own style heh.

I like Dramione a lot and it's my fav ship over all but I do branch out to the other ships and some of the fics from them are cool.

Dramione gives you that element of surprise in a story. That's what I like. It's unpredictable.

Awww thank you everyone who likes it. I appreciate the kind words lol. I know it's very long but I just enjoyed writing it so much.

Ilyria, I am posting it on the Hogwarts Quill that branches off from this site. Chapters 1-55 are up right now.

On HPFF (Harry Potter Fanfiction) you can find it there too. I have Chapters 1-99 up. It was the first site I posted my story on.

This story ends at Chapter 110 and yes I do have a 9 Chaptered sequel to it in the works lol!

It's a rather twisted story with some ooc moments and a slow beginning, but if you can get past that then you might like the crazy twisted plot

I think that Draco/Hermione is one of my favorite ships simply because it's unique and unrealistic lol!

Everyone knows Ron and Hermione are the true canon couple but it's nice to jump into the world of fanfiction and play around with the Harry Potter characters.
I think someone said it before that Dramione can go either way. Hermione can become bad, Draco can become good but still have the same problems. Pureblood/muggle born rivalry. Then of course the many subplots you can have on the side which is what I did.
I think that is why I like this ship a lot. It has the perfect blend of everything to create a good fanfic.

we know they wouldn't WORK in the books (but only because jk said so, in reality they could have a possibility, but thats why we have fanfictions.), but that's why we love the ship! we don't have to read the old trollip from the books rewritten (no offence hee..romione is very...er..cute in the books...well in the beginning but now it's kind of annoying cause it's being dragged on..but hinny is cuteXD) we can read creative never before written original romance stories! plus it doesn't hurt that draco is evilly smexy XD

Ok, I've read through a couple of the replies here, and it appears that this is a very popular ship among all of you. But allow me to ask a question.

Now as you all can guess I am a Hinny fan, plain and straight forward. But that doesn't mean I don't READ other stories, even if I don't like the advertised ships. Now can someone explain to me why this is so frickin' popular? Sorry, I need to vent because I cannot for the life of me see this as a ship that can really go anywhere. I mean, I see that the dynamics are there, but for anything more than a couple get-togethers, I just don't see anything there. The stories I've read just confuse me more. I've seen too many good girls get burned by bad boys so I'm automatically thrown off of this, and I can't see how any self-respecting good girl not on a rebellious streak could fall for the typical bad boy. Especially if you follow Canon up through the sixth book. Draco is obviously a Death Eater, what would Hermione ever want with him? *shakes head vehemently* If someone could explain this to me I swear I won't complain or vent about this. I just don't understand. Grr.

Ok so.. We are doing Romeo and Juliet in English-- were just reading it infront of the class though-- but anyways everyone wanted to be juliet so my teacher decided she would have one person do it in each Act... she decided alphabetical order.. so Im now the first one to be Juliet next week when we read. And as I was looking over my lines and just the story. I got to thinking. Everyone loves romeo and Juliet-- there a pair of star crossed lovers-- bound to each other by eternl love but in a situation where it could never be possible.... Thus.... you have DRAMIONE... which is pretty much the same thing.

-- So for amber.. if you want to tell me that Dramione could never happen because oppisites dont attract than your basically insulting Romeo and Juliet as well so NYAH!--

i really don't see the romeo and juliet connection.

1) romeo and juliet were in love, draco and hermione, so far in cannon hate each other.
2) in romeo and juliet, the families hate each other, and while draco and hermione hate each other, their families don't forbid it except lucius. really it's more of a pride and prejudice theme
3) hopefully neither draco nor hermione will die.
4) i couldn't see hermione doing anything as hopelessly stupid as killing herself over some guy (who for the past 6 years has treated her like horse manuer.)

if i was going to compare dramione to literature, definatly Pride and Prejudice.

but aside from that i adore dramione. as i have said many many many times. many times. *Squees*

No offence to anyone, but this ship is one I really hate. I just can't see it happening, in canon or the fanfic world it's just...not gonna happen

it's okay that you don't like it. i don't care if you don't like it, but what really is exasperating is everyone saying it won't happen.

For gods sake, we KNOW.. WE KNOW WE KNOW! we are not stupid, we have read the books AND have seen the movies and we know that in cannon there are no romantic inclinations towards one another WHATSOEVER.

this ship is purely in fandom and our minds.

off topic: in the books i adore the cannon ships. it's just...what's the point of fandom if you are going to try to rewrite what is already in the books? why not create something new and answer the 'what if draco and hermione....." or "what if luna and goyle (don't ask. it was a story on HPFF)"

I can understand why people want to write fanon ships and situations, but for me reading fic is about extending what we've read in the books, which is why I like canon-based stories.

I don't know...it's difficult to explain...I just find it hard to get my head around ships that I know wouldn't happen in canon.

But if we go back to Dramione, I agree with laura in that it's not one of my favourite ships, but having read a few dramione fics, I can understand why people like it. There's a sort of...forbidden-ness to the pair, I think.

well most of the dramoinie stories are rubish all the same end up as head boy and girl become friends fall in love but two to tango is really good =]

Yeah, I have to say a LOT of the summaries you see for Dramione's are that they become head boy and girl, and have to share a common room or tower or whatever.

You'd think that they could come up with a more imaginative scenario! It's like after HBP there were hundreds of H/G "walk around the lake" fics or bill/fleur wedding fics that were all the same. Some were good, because they put an original spin on things. I suppose though there's only so much you can do with canon fanfiction post-HBP.

i will say i liked the draco/hermione are aurors plot for a while, but after HBP, and ....it just fades in appeal....


although it is interesting to read dramiones that cover AFTER hogwarts and voldemort aspects. Very interesting if it's well writen.

I love it! Dramione is by far my favourite ship. It's so wrong, but then it's so right.

erm.,yeah agreeing with the whole head boy and girl for Dramione, being cliche and all. but its good for the beginner readers for dramione. after a while it just gets ... well boring.
also i have to agree with "life is 42" about people saying Dramione's not going to happen. yeah, we dramione lovers know its not going to happen, so i just dont understand why people must rub it in our faces?

not meaning to start it all again, but id thought id just put a little effort into supporting dramione and its lovers.

so once again, Dramione is one of the best shippings for me. and now i shall go back to finding another good story.

I'm not a big supporter of this ship but I can't say it can't happen. Personally I like the Ron & Hermione ship better. But think about it Draco being all bad and Hermione all good, wouldn't they crave to have what each one has, you know like wouldn't Draco want Hermione's goodness within him, and Hermione would desire Draco's badness XD...But I think it would be hard for then to keep a relationship with the fact that she's a muggle born and Draco's family is pureblood...would Draco's parents approve?

we know it won't happen:) it's why we read fanfiction. be cause it's by fans, who write...fiction.....i think its a ship that callls for a lot of creativeness in writting. love it.
