The Winter Ball

misty checked her flowing white dress and took a deep breath before entering the big doors of the great hall

Dani Dancing Goodsman walked into the Great Hall wearing a blue dress with a yellow hem, She smiled and started to walk around the hall and she spoted Misty.

Waving she set off in her general direction trying to to make a beeline for her.

*Scarlet Wondered into the Winter Ball wearing a beautiful black dress with a black fur coat which clung to her. Her jet black curly hair was down and hung around her shoulders. She was also where a massive diamond necklace with matching bracelet and earrings. As she scanned for some slytherin’s or death eaters she found none disappoint she took a seat at one of the long deactivate tables*

Traci walked in wearing a peurple dress tight on top flowing on the bottom she had shorts on underneath if she fell she was good at that admitially it showed her tatoos on her arm and back and chest area but she thought she looked nice she sulked quitly to an emty table in the corner and looked around

::Claire checked her silky fitted emerald colored dress before taking a deep breath. She loved it,and had boughten it the day she found it, which was unusual for her. It went down to just above her knees, a few ruffles flowing between just above her knee and midcalfe. It had a lowish neckline, and thin silk shoulder straps. In I go, she thought, and on high white heels walked into the ball. She had kept her straight hair down, long raven black hair that went to just below the back of her dress, the middle of her back. A ribbon the same green as the dress was acting like a headband for her, tied around her head, going behind her ears and back far enough so that her long bangs could be let loose. The ribbon was held in place with bobbie pins that had been decorated with tiny white diamond like sparkles which, to her, completed the outfit, along with the dangling diamond earrings, a simple silver strand with a single diamond in the center around her neck, and a few silver rings on her fingers.::

::She was here to help protect the students, not to party. Her wand was conceled in her dress (lol, don't ask me how), and she was alert as ever, watching for trouble.::

::Once inside the ball, Claire looked around for anyone she knew well, and, not seeing anyone yet, walked to the refreshment table and took a cup of the drink offered. She went back towards the doors and leaned against a wall, sipping her drink and keeping an eye out for a friend...and of course, a troublemaker to bust.::

Dani turned and faced the new comer, she knew her only from appearence. All she knew was that she was an arour that worked for Dumbldor having seen her around the school. For her postion Dani could tell she was slightly nervous but glad to be there. Giving herself a momont to think Dani decided that small talk would start an okay conversation.

Striding up to the new comer Dani held out her hand, "Hi I'm Dani Dancing Goodsman."

Dani paused to give a wave to Zexion who was looking in the other direction.

::Claire shook the girl's hand warmly, smiling.::

"Claire Johnson," she said. "Nice to meet you, Dani. Pretty lifeless ball at the moment, eh?"

::Claire smoothed the creases in her dress, still not used to being all dressed up. At twenty years old, she had never been a big party girl, but what woman doesn't like putting on a fancy dress and jewelery?::

"Pretty boring," Dani agreed.

Traci walked out of the corner feeling confident finaly well not shy at least she walked over to where the two girls were talking "Hi i'm traci" she said smiling

"Nice to meet you Traci," Dani held out her hand. "I'm Dani."

::Jenn took a deep breath and entered the ballroom quietly. Looking around, she spotted Claire and a smile flitted on her lips. As she walked forward, her pink dress rustled with every movement. The dress she chosen was a simple pink dress she dug out og the back of her closet.

"I'm luckily I still fit this dress," she murmured to herself.::

"Hey Claire," She said with a light smile. "Feels good to be back at Hogwarts doesn't it?"

"nice to meet you" she shook her hand and herself a little more confiedently

(Hehee Jenn. I just like describing, lol. I need to find a dress that fits my description now and buy it. *laughs*)

"Nice to meet you, Traci, Dani," Claire said, giving them a last smile. "A good friend of mine just came, I'll see you around."

::Claire nodded, looping arms with Jenn, and said, "Sure is. I miss it here. Life was so different, much more uncomplex than it is now. But we all have to grow up sometime," she said, smiling ruefully. "Wanna go get punch?" Claire asked after a pause, holding up her drink and taking a sip. "It's really good, and not spiked, I promise."

::Jenn laughed. "I sure hope so, I wouldn't like a repeat of our Halloween dance." She remarked with a bright smile, thinking back on the dance years ago....or a week whatever LoL.::

"So what have you been up to since you graduated from Hogwarts?" Jenn asked as she took a sip of fruit punch, her eyes skimming the ballroom for traces of trouble.::

"Oh goodness," Claire said, laughing as she remembered the Halloween Ball.::

"So what have you been up to since you graduated from Hogwarts?"

::Claire stiffened for a moment and then relaxed. Jenn couldn't know what had hapened....::

"Well, I joined the...er...you know what I mean, middle of seventh year, graduated, got a job at the Ministry (assistant secretary in Head of Auror Office), still....participating in the...yeah....bought a flat in London," she shrugged. "Life is good. What about you?"

Dani waved to Claire and wandered over to Zex. And rumbled his hair.

"Your dressed up arn't you?" She said looking pointedly at his suit.

::Jenn grimaced at the thought of her job. "Well, I just started working as an intern for the Department of Mysteries. Although I think the word intern should be replaced for coffee maker." She joked with a weary smile. "Everytime I approach the revolving doors, someone appears with an errand for me. Six months and I still haven't seen the inside of the Department at all!" She ranted.::

::Jenn stopped short and looked around. "But you know it's essential to have someone in every department for the 'you know'. So I do what I must. Besides I learned to make and balanced 6 different coffees in one hand within 5 mins. That's something I could put on my resume." She cheerfully said with a chuckle. "So has anything changed here?"

"Very good, coffee makers are very good to have around hq. Most that stop by have way too many late nights and need some coffee," Claire said, grinning. "Around here?" She looked around the Hall for anything different from when she and Jenn had gone to school there. "Just more protection, I guess."

*Scarlet eye skimmed the room looking around from someone to talk to. She had noicted that Zexion had being looking at her now and again and flashed him a little smile just to tease him a bit and then turned away and picked up a flower which was laying on the table and stared to pick of the petals.*

Tillie walked into the Great Hall, wondering how many people from the Order had been sent at Hogwarts during the Winter Ball and hoping she would not be alone. She already felt stupid enough in this dress, which she hated to wear but which was also the only one she owned after her mother had forced her to buy one, and if she had to feel awkward all evening long she hoped she would at least be able to feel awkward with someone else.

Pushing a strand of brown hair that had fallen on her face back behind her ear, she sighed of relief when she saw Claire and Jenn. She headed toward them and gave a little smile.

"Hey girls," she said, smiling.

*Scarlet sighed as yet another person that she did not like walked into the(i am only joking btw this is just they way she is ) room.*
"Argh where is everyone" she moaned throwing the rose to back on to the table

Vale walked into the lavishly decorated hall, looking a little out of place. While he'd managed to find a tux, it still wasn't enough to make him look classy. He had it open in the front, showing a lack of a tie, and his dress shirt which wasn't tucked in properly, one side of it hanging over his pants.

What did it matter? Just a silly dance. He scanned the room, noting the many girls in tight, figure-fitting dresses. The tiniest smile tugged at the corners of his lips. Amidst the scanning, he noticed a few familiar faces. He decided to walk up to Zexion and Dancing's table.

"Heya, you two. Hope you haven't been having too much fun without me." He says with a grin.

"Hey Tillie. Oh my god, you look gorgeous!" Claire said sincerely, grinning at her fellow Order member. "That dress is amazing, just amazing. Awesome ball, isn't it? The ones that we had when we were in school were a bit...more crazy," Claire said with a laugh.::

Looks away, yet again, from Scarlet then faces Dancing.

Decides to ignore her comment about how 'fancy' he was, and fixed his hair after her, ruffling it.

Glares at Vale, and mutters under his breath something about, "Stupid..egoistic snotty little brat."

"Oh yes, simply the time of my life."

Tillie blushed a little and smiled at Claire.

"Thanks, you look fabulous too," she said, smiling at her. "Though I never really cared for balls and party... I hate dressing up and I'm a bad dancer," she said, laughing.

"Well, we can't excell at everything, eh?" Claire said. "I"m horrible myself...don't worry, you won't be alone."

::Claire quickly scanned the Hall full of students, wondering if anyone would try and cause trouble during the ball. There were a few kids clustered around tables, one with an odd looking boy. Blue hair...what kids did to themselves these days.::

Dani's gaze fell on Vale he was a foot away, and he looked...hot.

"Nothing much, only some homework for Trasnfigureation. Been pretty much boring." She smiled at him.

Tillie looked around and sighed.

"So, any idea of what we need to do?" she asked. "Just.. hang around and check out for danger?"

He laughs. "Homework at a Ball? Something isn't right."

Glancing around the room, he notices the inactive DJ, the speakers playing elevator-like music quietly. "I'll be right back." He says to the two.

He walks over to the DJ's table, snickering as he notices the DJ sleeping. Leaning over the table, he sees binders full of random, unmarked CDs. Shrugging, he chooses one and places it in the stereo. Some generic techno-pop like music starts playing. Not his favorite, but perfect for dancing to. He turns up the volume and heads back over to the table with Zexion and Dancing.

"There, that's a little better."

"Yeah!" Dani said. "This is great music, that's what this party was missing. No silly not at the ball earlier today."

Dani couldn't help herself her feet taped to the beat of the music. Her eyes telling everyone in the room that she wanted to dance.

Eyes fall apon Vale and Dani, twiches once.

"Well, I think that's enough 'partying' for me..For now anyways, maybe I'll come back..later."

Stands up from the table and stalks out of the room

"Bye Zex," Dani said waving. Her feet are itching to dance...

"Bye Zexion" Vale says with a wave.

Watching her, he can tell she wants him to ask her. She wants him to dance. "Might as well." He though with a grin. He stands up.

"Come on, let's go have some fun." He says, offering Dancing his hand.

Dani took his offered hand and he guided her on to the dance floor. She smiled she always liked to dance.

Dani glided along to the beat of the music. Her hand still held by Vale.

Vale did his best to dance along. He'd never had lessons, so his interpretation of dancing generally consisted of jumping around, trying to avoid stepping on Dancing's feet.

"Like dancing, huh?" He asked. "I think you're almost better than I am! Almost." He says with a playful grin.

"Dancing is my name," She laughed and twirled around. "Almost is nerly better, only nearly."

"Oh really?" He tries to mimic her twirl, ending up getting tangled up in his own feet and having to stumble a few steps to keep his balance.

"Whew. Okay, maybe you're just a bit better." He says with a laugh.

He grumbles as the music changes to a total rap song - random rhyming with a lack of melody.

Dani covered her ears. "Damn turn off that wanna be music."

She hates rap anything that no one can dance to is bad music in her opinion. Including country,:P

He decides he's spend enough time, sitting alone in the common room staring at the other side of the room. He gets up, leaves the Slytherin common room, walking through the dungeons, with a graceful stalk.

He opens up the doors into the winter ball.

"Oh..joy..Rap music."

He says sarcasticly.

He deicdes to sit down, at the same spot as before and read a book that he brought with him.

"Grr. I'll be right back." Says Vale, skulking off back to the DJ.

"HEY!" He shouts over the blaring music, "Change it to something else!"

The DJ gives the shouting teen a bit of a glare, then proceeds to cut the music and replace it with Billy tallent. Satisfied, Vale returns to Dancing's side.

"Better?" He asks.

"Much," She smiled back. She was flattered that anyone would go through the trouble to do anything fo her.

"I hate that crap."

After dancing a little longer, he notices Zexion's return.

"Hey! Shorty's back, let's go say hi." He suggests, running off to the small Slytherin boy's table like a little kid at an amusement park.

"Got too bored on your own, huh Zexi?"

Slowly, his eyes left up from behind the shelter of his book.

Coughs loudly

"Uhm.."Zexi"?"
