The Winter Ball

"Hi Zex," Dani said sitting down in the chair across from him. She could feel the tension between the two boys, as if an internal battle were raging inside of them.

"Another book. At this rate I'll have to get you more than one book for Christmas."

He takes a seat as well, running his fingers through his spikey hair. "Whew, it's hot in here."

Looking at Zexion, he speaks in a fake, matter-of-factly tone. "Yes, Zexi, it's a nickname. Instead of Zexion, you know, sometime people give other people nicknames."

He leans back on his chair and kicks his feet onto the table, resting his head in his hands.

"You know... 'Zexi' sounds a lot like..." A mischivious grin forms on his face.

"Don't go there Vale," Dani said warningly. "But I agree it does sound alot like...well..." She giggled.

"..."

His face becomes angry, he glares, and practically shouts at him

"Shut up!!"

//You know, Picture it sorta in comic form..The angry ones head gets all bigger, and then the one who said the uh..thing that made the person spazz gets all small XD The angry person grows fangs and.. :P

"My my... Temper temper. Sorry Zexi. Guess it's a sore spot with ya'." He replies, staring at a stain on the tablecloth in front of them.

Grumbles and takes shelter behind his book again

"He just thinks he's so great.."

"Just go away."

///Good visual it got to me and I laughed and my mom was all like, OMG what did I do?

"Calm down Zex," Dani said, all she needed now was a fight. "I'll go grab some punch." And she left the two boys glaring at each other.

"You go do that."

Contiunes to read, trying to ignore Vale's prescence.

Vale can sense Zexion's stress levels going up, so he nonchalantly tries to change the topic.

"So... What're you doing for Christmas?"

Dani gratful about being out of the extream tension wandered over to the punch. Grabbing a glass for herself she took a sip deciding she was going to need something stronger to get through the night she grabbed an abandoned bottle of Firewhisky and swallowed some.

Glances up

"Depends what..'they' want. What 'they' decide, and how well I do in school. If I don't do what they expect, probably sitting in my room studying. But if I do what they expect, or better. I'll stay here."

Puts the book down

"And yourself?"

He thought for a minute. "Yikes, that's rough. Who's 'they', your folks?"

"I'm not really sure... Guess i'll just hang around here. None of my buddies will be at home for the holidays anyways, they all go to different schools."

He smirks a little. "Not that you care much, right?"

"No."

Smirks

"You're exactly right."

Leaning forward so that his chair is using it's four legs again, Vale scans the crowd.

"Where'd Dancing go? I'm thirsty..."

He chuckles lightly to himself. Weird name.

"To get the punch, of course."

"Weren't you listening?"

"Duh. That's why I said I was thirsty. It doesn't take that long to get punch, though."

Dani stumbled and filled three glasses half with firewhisky and half with punch. Damn I hope this works

She straightened up and brought the cups to the table were Zexion and Vale were seated. At least they arn't killing each other. She thought.

"Okay punch, beware it does have a bit of an after-taste" She said with a laugh.

Puts his books down and gets up

"I'll go see what she's up to..I guess.."

Walks over to her

"Nearly finished? Dani?"

Smirks

"We all know how impatient Vale gets."

He grinned. "Great! Thanks, looks good."

Ignoring her warning, since he figured it was just punch, he downs it all in one swig. His eyes tear up as he swallows it.

"Hoo boy..." He says a few moments later, still wiping his eyes, "What the heck is in this stuff?"

"It's punch I told you," Dani replied with a smirk.

Boys are so unobserventshe thought.

Walks back with her.

He frowns, noticing Vale's tearing up eyes. He decides to just take a small sip

"Peeh..No kidding.."

Dumps it in the garbage

"Oh it's not that strong," She drained hers, the burning liquid slid down her throat and she smiled. "Wimps"

Gives her a small glare

"It's not that it's to strong..I just don't like the taste.."

"Hmm..This screaming, What's the band called? Billy Talent? Is begining to annoy me."

Wanders over to the DJ

"Do you happen to have any "System of a Down?"

The DJ nods and puts it on

Zexi walks back to Dani and Vale.

"Much better."

"Nice," Dani said.

"Anyone want to dance?"

// Its..kinda..Alternative Rock? Very unique.



Considers it for a few moments, deciding to try his luck..he responds with a..

"Hmm..alright..I've never really danced before, just a warning..I mean..I've seen people dance but.."

//Probably have to log for the night unless I can get the laptop off my mum.

Tillie sighed and smiled at Claire and Jenn.

"I'm gonna go sit down somewhere, I don't really feel like standing on my feet all night long," she said, laughing.

Traci sighed from the punch bowl why didnt anyone talk to her was what she was wondering

*Scarlet sat at the table with an angry look on her face, she still didnt get why she was still sitting in the great hall but for some reason she just didn't want to move*

"Okay lets dance," Dani said and grabbed his hand and pulled him to the dance floor. As the song changed into Queens Somebody to Love.

"I love this song." She said dancing to the music.

Glances around at the other guys in the ball, dancing with girls, trying to copy them.

"Who is it even?"


Listens a bit more

"Its...alright.."

"It's Queen," Dani said. "A very American band from the 80's. I love them though."

//Just a question, are they uh, Dancing together, or you know, how some people dance together at dances, but they're like..a foot away from each other?\\

"I see.."

"They're kind of poppy. That's just my opinion."

Sandy walked into the ball room gracefully, she waved excitedly at her cousin Dani who was Dancing with an extreamly cute guy.

"Hi Dani," She said walking up to her in hervelvet red dress that had no straps. it clinged nicely to her figure.

After gulping down a few more punches, and figuring he'd gotten over the 'bite' they had, Vale relaxed at the table, reclining in the chair with his feet up on the table.

He grins a little as he notices Dani and Zexion dancing.'Finally loosed up a little, hasn't he?' He thought to himself.

For a while he pondered whether to say anything. He decided to. "Woo, Zexi!" he shouts enthusiastically, not sure and not caring if the two heard him or not.

Dani waved back at her cousin. "Hey Sand," She said stopping. "This is Zexion, he's new." She leaned over to give her cousin a hug. "How you been?"

He gives a wave to Sandy.


"Hello, Sand?"

Smirks and thinks to himself, "Bizzare names people have these days.."

Glances back at Vale, and rolls his eyes, facing the two girls again

"Actually it's Sandy. My cousin," Give a playful shove to Dani. Who stumbles back. "just calls me sand for short. but i don't really care."

"Oh Sand you know we love you, everyone gets a short name from me." Dani said ruffling her hair. "Even Zex here has one."

Nods

"Sandy..Understood."

Crosses his arms

"So you two are cousins, Eh?"

//Dani didn't ruffle YOUR hair it was my hair.

"Yes were cousins unfortunatly." then Sandy fixed her almost ruined hair.

He smirks


"You say it like it's a bad thing."

Sandy laughed, "no it isn't it's an inside joke. Our family are a bunch of jokers."

Doesn't laugh. Instead, arches a brow.

"I...see.."

Thinks to himself, "And how is that funny?"

Sandy grew a little nervus, and smiled weakly, "Um ok....um well i'll see you two later sandy said and waved good by looking around the dace floor for any cute guys to dance with.

Looks at Dani and frowns, then says,

"Oh..I'm sorry, did I scare her off?"

Jessica walked into the ball late but they always say better late than never right?

She entered and looked around for someone to talk to... or better yet, to flirt with.

Sandy wondered around continuesly trying to find somebody to dance with. She sighed, 'i should of knew better then to come to the dance stag.' she thought to herself. but continued her seeming endless search.

"You didn't scare her, she's just weird." She sighed. Then the song changed again. "Oo another song."

*Scarlet was started to get very bored and none was looking at her anymore and she hated to so she walked over to the music and changed to it some punk music and smiled when everyone stopped dancing at started at her*
"What?" she laughed and then started to "dance"

"Oh man if your going to change the music change it something people like." Dani said stopping. She hopped up on the DJ's stage and changed the CD again to a soft tango beat.
