The Winter Ball

"Good thinking, flowers will chear up anyone" Oddie says

Dani smiled and her cheeks shined she gave Zex one last hug and scooped up the flowers gently. "Thank you," She whispered.

He smiles back, eyes glimmering

"Sure thing."

"You think that your going to be ok" Oddie asked her

Dani smiled at the two of them "Yeah I'll be just fine,"

"Thats good. Soooo. Are you going to be going back to the party" Oddie asked then both as she pulled her robes closer to her feeling a bit cold

"That's good, Dani."

His voice seems less angry, and calmer now

He looks at Oddie

"It depends..If you guys are.."

"Yeah," Dani said making a move to get off the floor standing she took as step and she heard a loud crack. Next thing she knew she was laying on the floor and her ankle was searing with pain.

"Whats wrong Dani" Oddie asked color draining from her face "Are you ok" She added

"Ah," Dani said grabbing her ankle, she gasped.

"What happened" Oddie screamed and started to run around in circles

He frowns

"Did..you break your ankle?"

He pulls his wand out again

"It won't..heal it, but it should help a bit with the pain.."

"Episkey!"

Dani feels minor relief

Zexion bends down, then casts "Lightweight" on her to make her weigh no more then a feather

He picks her up

"Do you want to go into the dance room? Or should I take you to Miss Pomfrey?"

Dani groaned again and removed her hand. The ankle was sticking out at an odd angle. "Oh my god," She whispered.

"Lets take her to the hospital wing" Oddie said as she stopped running in circles

Slowly walks to the Hospital Wing, setting her down in one of the beds.

"Stay with her."

He commands Oddie

"I'll go get Miss Pomfrey."

He calmly walks over to her and tells her about Dani, Miss Pomfrey comes over and starts getting to work.

Zexion sits on the bed next to hers

"Hope you'll be alright.."

Dani nodded as tears welled in her eyes, just as Madom Pomfrey pushed the bone back into place. "Yeah, I'll be just fine." She said her voice cracking with pain.

"Shell be fine. Miss Pomfrey here." Oddie says. "So whats wrong." Oddie asks

Mme Pomfrey replies

"She'll be just fine! Seems she stepped wrong and broke her ankle and the bone popped out"

Mme Pomfrey blinks

"I should be done in ten minutes!"

Zexion nods

"That fanstatic" Oddie screams. "Youll be as good as new in no time" Oddie tells Dani

Dani nodded and turned to Pomfrey. "Why did it snap?" She asked.

"Yea thats a bit wierd, does she have weak bones or something" Oddie asks her

She crosses her arms, then jams the bone into place, then wraps a banage tightly around it, She then pulls out her wand and mutters magic words.

The ankle feels fine.

"Suppose you stepped on it wrong..Especially after all that dancing!"

"Now, don't walk on it, I'll give you crutches.."

Madame Pomfrey goes to get some crutches

Zexion runs a hand through his hair

"Well, at least you're alright."

He smiles

"All right," Dani muttered grabbing the crutches. "When will it heal," She asked. She wouldn't bear not being able to dance.

"Hmm, With the spell I casted..3 days!"

Madame Pomfrey goes off to her desk to work on stuff

Zexion gives a small, weak smile

"Guess you can't dance..That's alright though..I'll sit down with you."

"Theres better things to do then dance" Oddie says trying to cheer her up

Dani smiled and at the same time her heart broke. Her whole life was dancing she winced and pushed forward on her crutches.

"Thanks she said," Moving forward.

Oddie followed hoping that Dani was going to be ok
"Well what do you want to do now" she asked

"Sure thing."

Zexion walks slower, so he can walk beside her

"Those things look awkward.."

"Yeah, their dreadful." She said wincing. " i guess we should go back to the great Hall."

He nods

"I broke up with Sandy.."

"It that why she's so mad?" Dani asked.

He blinks a few times

"Maybe. Mostly likely."

He puts his hands on the back of his head

"When I told her, she seemed to be trying to hold back her tears.."

"Guess I really upset her."

"Don't blame yourself," Dani said. "In her mind she's relating all the bad things to me. I know it." She gave a feble smile.

"Why did you two break it?"

He shrugs

"I guess she's not really my type, You know?"

"Sorry about her taking it out on you..I could talk to her if you want."

"Yeah, she's a little hasty. I'm going to go change for the new day. Be back in a mo..." Dani said hobbling up the stairs on her crutches.

Coming into her common room, she changed out of her dancing clothes and into some Jeans and a tee. Then deciding without even thinking about it she headed to the bathroom to dye her hair.

Crosses his arms, tapping his foot waiting for her

"Sheesh, how long does it take to change?"

Dani hurried as fast as on her crutches down the stairs. She had a hat on and her New York tee and a grin.

Smiling she waved akwardly from her postion on the staris. She yanked off the hat and let her brand new hair fall around her face. She smiled waiting for Zexion's reaction.

Raises a brow

"You dyed your hair?"

"..."

"Interesting..."

Dani smiled, "Yeah I found a bottle of hair dye and just decided to go ahead and dye it. Doing it as a turning point in my life." She stated continuing down the stairs.

He snickers

"Okay."


"Eh..Might I ask, 'Turning Point'?"

"Breaking my ankle," She lied think that if she told him the reason he'd laugh.

He nods slowly, 'Did she hit her head too?' he smirks to himself

"Gotcha."

"Well, you want to stay out here? I think I'm going to head back in."

"No I'm headed to the Dance, I know I can't but I can watch."

"Right.."

He walks ahead

"Lets go then."

Dani nodded and walked with her crutches forward.

He grins to himself, walking slowly, so she can keep up. 'I know this is bad thought..But..I'm sort of glad she broke her ankle..Now Vale can't dance with her.'

"I'm not going to bother dancing."

"Why?" Dani asked, at the moment she'd do anything to dance. It's her life...

He shrugs

"I don't really like dancing."

'Makes you look like some crazy whacko doing bizzare movements and..' He wasn't about to tell her what he thought of dancing though.

"Well that's okay," She said.

What how can you not like dancing?! she wanted to ask.

Opens the door for her, leading into the Greathall

"Whoa..It's loud in here."
