Slytherin Common Room

"Some say demon."

Catheryne looked up, "Oh it's 'The Potions you Never Knew You Needed' by Orion Borage. I got it for a a bit of reading this year." She moved over to a chair next to Emmalynn.
*whispers* "Hey, what are they whispering about."

"Ravenclaw in the house!!" Elladora burst through the door and made her way over to her friends.

"I made cookies!"

Catheryne looked alarmed and sputtered, "Ella you're not supposed to be in here!" Then she turned to Emmalynne, "Emma you told her the password?! It's against school rules"

Shadow jumped again as some one else entered the room. She cursed herself softly under her breath for not having more control over her nerves.

Shadow noticed that Willow was upset. "Why not?"

"Oh Cathy, lighten up! You so should have been Hufflepuff," Emmalynn said, then facing Elladora. "Elladora!!" she yelled, jumping on her friend, "Gimme a cookie!!"

Emmalynn got off her friend and whispered to Catheryne, "By the way, the girls upstairs are whispering about their past or someting.... I haven't really paid attention, and I don't like using the Extendable Ears..."

Shadow's ear twitched. Extendable ears? What are they? Apart from the obvious...

"My mother was killed by my father when I was five, by a shot of magic intended for me... I remember all too well..." Shadow bowed her head.

Catheryne started, "I just don't want to be the one to lose our house points, it is getting pretty close and slytherins aren't exactly the most forgiving. Oh, whatever I guess no one every really pays attention to who's in here. Ella you're so lucky, my parents won't let me get anything from the Weasley twins"
Catheryne, opened a pack, "Do you guys want some pumpkin tart or chocolate frogs? My mom sent me another care package." She rolled her eyes.

"Good one," Said Shadow, "What are extendable ears?"

"Great." Muttered Shadow.

Shadow got up and sneaked out of the dorm, wanting to find out what they were saying. She stood at the top of the stairs, hearing everything they were saying.

"Potter's definantly gonna be on a chocolate frog card," Elladora said. "I can see it now: The greatest wizard of our time grew up with muggles, was tortured by his muggle cousin, went to Hogwarts, sucked at almost everything, and somehow managed to defeat the Dark Lord Moldy-shorts."

Elladora smiled and grabbed a chocolate frog then took a huge bite out of it.

Emmalynn ducked her head to hide her laughter.

"Ella! You're in the Slytherin common room! Oh whatever...." Emmalynn said, finally giving in to fits of laughter.

What on Synairn is Elladora doing in our common room? She thought to herself Hmmm, I just had an idea... Shadow smiled a bit evilly and, using her magic, made the chocolate frog that Elladora was eating hover above her head, just out of reach.

Shadow smiled back at Willow.

Emmalynn saw Elladora's frog hover above her head and fell on the floor, laughing so hard that she couldn't breath. She looked around, finally seeing Shadow, and figured she was the culprit. She smiled up at Shadow before something clicked in her mind; Shadow was out of the dormitory. Emmalynn jumped up and ran upstairs, into her dorm. She saw Willow and said a quick 'Hello' before grabbing her bedding an pillows and heaving them downstairs. She threw them on the couchand curled up in them.

"Yay. I've been waiting for one of you guys to come out for ages!," she was addressing Shadow,"Of course, I could've just unlocked the door, but I was trying to be respectful..... Next time, why don't you leave the door alone and just sit on your bed and place a Silencing Charm on the curtains..."

She took another chocolate frog and giggled when Elladora's was still hovering out of reach.

Shadow jumped as Emmalynn ran up and down the stairs. She sincerely hoped that no one had heard what they had been talking about. She lost her concentration and therefore, the floating chocolate frog lost its gift of flight, hitting Elladora on the head.

"Depends on your definition of private, and in this school, it seems to mean 'public knowledge'." Shadow shook her head.

Elladora sighed loudly, she had been perfectly fine with not being able to have eaten her chocolate frog, but she didn't want it in her hair. She turned around swiftly and withdrew her wand.

"Flargate!" she said and a shot of fire landed on Shadow, igniting her torso with an X. Elladora grinned and shrugged, turning back to face her friends. She grabbed one of her cookies and took a bite out of it.

Shadow gave a small cry and fell to her hands and knees. She didn't know how to stop fire.

Catheryne quickly cast the Flame-Freezing Charm rendering the burning to small tickles, Shadow still seemed alarmed at the flaming X on her body and Catheryne cursed her ablity to pay attention is history class, but not so much charms. She muttered, "Oh what is that stupid spell to get rid of fire!"
"Umm, Episkey," she shouted to heal the burns while the flame got a bit bigger.

Shadow managed to stand up shakily, and realised that Emmalynn was there and promptly fell over again, terrified. She stood up again, leaning on the wall for support.
"Thank you..." She whispered hoarsely to the two girls. She felt dizzy, as if she had over-used her magic. She sat down again, sure that she would have fallen over sooner or later.

Cathernye went over to Shadow. "Do you need anything? A blanket? Something to drink?" she said as she pulled some pumpkin juice out of her pack.

"Wow, that was an over-reaction," Elladora said calmly. She took a cookie and began to crumple it up, followed by a different cookie and then compressed the two together.

"That spell doesn't do any damage," Elladora turned to face Willow. "And like I shouldn't be in here. They come to my common room all the time. Emmalynn lived with me for nearly three years! If anyone's over-reacting, it you." Elladora turned back around and muttered under her breath, "I can see why you aren't in Ravenclaw..."

(Wow, I can't believe you people actually call yourselves Harry Potter fans. The spell Flargate doesn't actually do any damage, it just creates the illusion of a fire as a place-marker.)

Catheryne noticed the glare in Shadows eyes and muttered a shield charm between Elladora in Shadow just in case.

Edit: (Elladora it does not specify or imply what Flagate does to humans and whether it causes damagae,even though the flame disapears doesn't mean it has no effect other than visual)

Catheryne said a little bored, "Ella, fire isn't always the best spell to use in recoil, I'm sure turning her robe pink would have been more of a much more fitting punshment for a cookie drop, in fact it would have actually been funny to the rest of us. As you are a ravenclaw I expected a less predictable prank."

(Two things: one do you use a wand shadow? and two MADE IT TO SECOND YEAR! WOOt!)

Shadow noticed Dorothy's interest and was secretly glad that she didn't interfere.

Shadow looked up, and returned to her human self.
"I think it might be best for me to leave the common room for a bit." She stood up, handing the quilt back to Emmalynn. "Thanks, but I think I need a bit of time to collect my thoughts."
