Hogwarts Years: FIRST YEAR

First topic message reminder :

For any one and everyone no matter the age. This is the first time your characters goes to Hogwarts.

Zelda had just gotten off the train and was on the boat headed towards to grand castle.. "This is magnificent!" Zelda said to the other students on the boat...

"Hi, I'm Rista," she said, holding out her hand for her fellow gryffindor.

" Hello .. I'm Zelda... Nice to meet you." Zelda said.

Shadow sat at the Slytherin table. The sorting hat had known her secrets...

A turkey appeared before the huge table... " Oh this is great." Zelda said to Rista as she filled her plate.

Shadow watched as the plates before her filled with food and the other Slytherins starting to eat. Shadow just looked bored.

Zelda was packed full with food and she decided to wait for the others.

Yvaine scurried up to meet the others. She was always late...a bad habbit of hers. "Can I still be sorted even though I'm late?" She asked meekly.

Shadow watched with boredom as another first year scurried into the room.

Rista saw Oddie walk out. She knew that her name had gotten her a lot of looks, but she didn't know why. All she knew is that Oddie did not seem to like it. She excused herself and followed. Catching up with Oddie, she asked, "Are you going to be alright?"

Zelda looked up to see that the sorting hat had been taken out again.... The lady in the green dress pointed to the stool and waited for the girl to take the set... She had a very stern look on her face... " I feel sorry for that one." Zelda thought.

Yvaine scurried to the stool and sat. The sorting hat said Slytherin. A look of relief came over her face and she went to sit at the slytherin table.

Shadow watched as the newcomer sat at the slytherin table. She turned away again without displaying much interest.

Yvaine was hoping to feel welcome, but everyone turned from her. She felt like such an idiot.

Shadow sensed that the other girl was ill at ease, but feared that there was nothing a half breed like her could do...

Reluctantly Yvaine said, "Hi, My name's Yvaine to the girl sitting beside her, "What's yours?"

The lady in the green dress took the stool and hat away once again and sat with the other teachers. At that time the feast was about over and the headmaster stood up. He was dressed in a blue gown with a three pointed had perched on top of his head. He looked to be very old and had a long white beard. His blue eyes where hidden beneath hafe moon spectacles and he was very tall. Zelda smiled when he stood for this was her godfather. He gave the being of term speech as he always did and told the first years not to go into the forbidden forest. After his speech he told the prefects and head boy and girl to escort the first years to there dorms.

Zelda saw three Gryffindors stand up and motion for the first years to come so Zelda stood up and followed the prefects out the door and to the left.

Yvaine also stood up and followed the other first years. Oh how she wished she could make her self invisible to escape the stares and laughter.

Shadow looked at Yvaine. She was following their prefects with an upset look on her face.
"I'm Shadow." She said to her.

Zelda was escorted to he dorm and that night she slept soundly... She couldn't wait for her classes the next day.

"Nice to meet you." Yvaine said to Shadow. "So, are you glad to be a slytherin?" She asked as they entered the dorm.

"Nope," she said simply. "I'm a muggleborn, so I'm clueless. Besides your name doesn't define you. Uh oh. Looks like everyone's on their way to their dorms."

"I'm not sure. I don't know much about Hogwarts." Shadow answered.

Zelda woke up the next day to put on her robes and head off for her first class... " This is wonderful.." She thought..

Shadow woke with a start, and put a hand to her head. She got up, shaking herself like a wolf, and pulled on her school uniform, adding her cloak on top of it.

Zelda picked up her books and started for first class... potions.

Shadow picked up her timetable. Potions with the Gryffindors, what joy. Not! Shadow summoned all the nessecary books and hurried to the dungeons.

Shadow waited outside of the classroom, being the first there as she had teleported out of the common room. She leaned against the wall, hoping some one would show up soon.

( I can't post there.. It would be a double post)

Rista woke the next morning, refreshed. It was probably the best nights sleep she'd ever had. She got dressed and, after a quick breakfast, made her way to potions.

"Isn't Hogwarts wonderful?" Yvaine said to Shadow. Across the room some older girls laughed at her. She felt so stupid, so she wandered down to the library for a good read when she bumped into someone she hadn't seen before.

Shadow heard Yvaine's question, but ignored it.

Rista was pleased that her first lesson had gone so well. She hoped she'd have better luck in her other classes. "What's next..." she wondered aloud.

Zelda saw Rista and heard her.. " So.. our first class.. now our second.. What do you have?" Zelda asked her.

"It looks like I have transfiguration," Rista replied to Zelda. "I wonder what that will be like."

Transfiguration next. Thought Shadow as she headed for the classroom.

Rista turned to Zelda. "Do you know how to get to this classroom, Zelda? I misplaced my map." (where should we go? Or will we have to start a new one?)

Zelda smiled as she looked at Rista and all the rest...." I think Ill love that subject." Zelda said.

"Better get headed that way, then," Rista said glancing at her watch. Then she remembered that it didn't work here. Old habits die hard.

Zelda smiled and walked with Rista.

"How far is it to the classroom? I mislaid my map, of course. I'm always doing things like that," Rista said.
