4th House Quidditch: Gryffindor vs. Slytherin: 22nd-26th

The posts can begin on Saturday 22nd March - not before!
and will end on Wednesday 26th March - 5 days of rpg posting!

When you post - please put your position and team (eg. Gryffindor Beater) in brackets before you begin the RPG post - otherwise your post will be void of any points!

Remember to observe the new Quidditch rules: day one is for arriving to the pitch, after which the referee will post and the game can properly begin and chasers can no longer immediately state that they have scored. They must wait for the Keeper to post. See this post for more info.

(Gryffindor Chaser and Co-captain)

Cris plunged her fingers into the green egg-colouring-potion that was boiling next to her bed and picked a neon green egg right from the bottom of the cauldron. She was careful not to drip any colour onto the floor, when her chicken-shaped alarm clock suddenly started shrieking "Quidditch tiiiiiiiiime, you dum-dum!" - "Ahh! Qudditch!", Cris exclaimed, dropping the egg onto the floor, where its shell cracked open. "Get your lazy bu-", the alarm clock continued, but Cris hit it with her fist before it sould finish its sentence. Talking alarm clocks! Really, who on earth had the idea of giving me *such* a present?!, she fumed, looking at the mess she'd just created. However, she had to admit she indeed had a match to be playing, so she left the mess be and reached out her green hands after her outfit.

As soon as she was down in the locker room, she got equipped with her special easter outfit. She wore a hat hat looked just like the upper half of an egg, that was moreover painted in jolly patterns and had a bright red bow on top of it. As a complete chick costume would not have been a practical idea, she had taken the wings from it and sewn them onto the back of her Quidditch robes and replaced her shoes with the chick's feet. Thus equipped, she remembered one little detail - she dug through her locker and finally found the bunch of egg-shaped bells that she attached to the school's Cleansweep 7 that she would be flying again this game.

Oh, again this one... she moaned to herself, looking at the broom. I wish I hadn't wrecked my own one ... and I also wish decent brooms were cheaper...

But alas! The weather's fine, it's almost Easter ... no reason to be sulky today!, she continued smiling, as she stepped out onto the pitch and zoomed up right away.

Gryffindor Chaser

Katie walked on to the pitch, confident in her puncuality, she even stopped for a peice of toast before she made her way to the game. The conditions were good and she was exceited. A game against Slytherin also pumped her up. It was sure to be interesting. Finally, she arrived at the locker room and fallowed the usual procedure. She pulled on her robes and braided her hair. After locating her broom, Katie pulled open the door that led to the pitch and stepped outside.

She wasn't the first one here. There was Cris from her team and a Slytherian who she had seen before but she wasn't sure of her name. Katie mounted her broom and kicked off anxious to start the game.

(Gryffindor Beater and Co-Captain)

It was white. Over there was a group of tiny blue dots, probably left over from some prank or other, and over there was a faint brown line that had faded with time. She sighed and brought her covers up to her chin, curling up herself even tighter than she had curled up originally. Her dormitory wall faced her, mostly white but with a few blemishes, and after examining it, she closed her eyes tight. She wished she could sink into her bed, into the floor, into the earth, never to be seen again. She remembered that floo call once more and a she felt that oh-so-familiar sinking feeling in her stomach. Strangely, she hadn’t cried after the call, though she’d wanted to, of course. But… the tears wouldn’t come. She sighed as she thought about it, about him, before berating herself for letting her thoughts stray into that emotional minefield.

Her alarm clock rang again, but she could barely hear it, having dumped a pile of clothes over the offending object. She sighed again. How long was she going to stay like this, lethargic in bed, wallowing in her own self pity? How long was she going to be late to the Quidditch game by? Ah… Quidditch. She sighed again. She seemed to be doing a lot of that today. Quidditch, she thought again. I should probably go down and play… this one’s against Slytherin, I think. But for some reason that she felt she knew, she didn’t feel motivated to go and play. But…. Still… Suddenly, she sat up in bed. She frowned; why had she sat up? She hadn’t been thinking about sitting up... but… She remembered that this was normally how she got out of bed. She could rarely get up if she forced herself to, but sometimes, she’d suddenly sit up for no reason at all, and… well… she supposed that now was one of those times. She slowly put her feet on the floor. She was already dressed; actually, she hadn’t undressed since last night’s floo call. Ugh… she didn’t want to think of that right now, though she couldn’t seem to keep herself from doing so.

As she contemplated the cause of her lethargy, she found herself moving around her room, getting ready, and eventually walking down the stairs and out the door. “Quidditch,” she whispered. She entered the Gryffindor Locker Room and slowly grabbed her broom and bat. “Quidditch,” she whispered again as she turned towards the exit. She slowly walked out onto the Pitch and as the wind began to blow around her, she began to feel her spirits begin to lift. She slowly mounted her broom and kicked off, slowly floating higher into the air. She waved to her teammates, flying slowly towards Cris and Katie. She wondered why it had taken so long for her to get out here.

(Gryffindor Chaser and Co-captain)

''Hi, I like your easter stuff'', a new girl on the Slytherin team told Cris while she was flying around, warming up. "Oh, thanks!", Cris answered and flew down to shake her hand, "I'm Cris, by the way. Don't feel intimidated by the big Quidditch pitch or the scary height or some of the more violent moves or... well, don't think about any dangers at all. You know, have fun! And let's have a good and fair game, shall we?". She smiled to the girl and let her go to change into her Quidditch robes, then took off to warm up again.

She soon saw Katie and June arrive onto the pitch and waved to them. She then noticed June seemed to be in a weird mood. "Hey sis, all fine with you?". She worriedly looked into her face... something seemed to be wrong. Unfortunately, it was Quidditch time, so all she could do was hug her tightly and give a small chocolate rabbit she'd hidden in her robes. "Hope you'll feel better soon!"

(Gryffindor Awesomeness. Oh, wait...Gryffindor CHASER.)

Cheery walked onto the pitch with her favorite song in her head. She hummed the tune as she looked over at her team and at her opponents. We can win this, she thought. We beat Hufflepuff last week. We can surely win again! She kept walking, her head high, her shoulders down. She glowed with excitement and confidence; no one could knock her down.

She looked up into the stands, all of her classmates beaming down to the pitch in good spirits, waiting to see the best game that would ever hit Slytherin. Cheery smirked, looked from side to side, and stepped into her spot on the pitch. So sneaky...no one even noticed that I'm a teensy bit later than everyone else.

Then a thought hit Cheery! Oh..my GOSH!!!!!!!!!! think of all the germs that could be in this d-- and she was interrupted by the memory of Cris shaking her head at her in the common room the night before. Cris had repeatedly told her to snap out of this germ freak habit. "You need to have your mind on the game tomorrow. I know you're going to think about all the germs on the field..but don't. DON'T do it on MY field." Cheery laughed to herself, recieving odd looks from her peers. Then another thought hit her! What if these Slytherin don't have good hygiene?! What if one of them hasn't showered for...*gulps* 2 days!??! and then she screamed at her own thought.

Cris looked over and gave Cheery a dirty look. "...A spider! It was crawling near my foot and I just--AHHHHHHH! ANOTHER ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and with that, Cheery ran five feet over and came to her final resting place until the balls would be released in a few moments.

(Gryffindor Beater and Co-Captain)

At Cris's question, a ghost of a smile appeared on June's face. "I'm fine," she answered. It wasn't really a lie... Now that she was in the air again, she was feeling better and better. June thanked her sister for the chocolate and bit off one of the ears. Yummmm... Thank God for chocolate! She hugged Cris back and said, "Let's show Slytherin what Gryffindor's all about!"

A red blur caught June's eye and she turned her head. "CHEERY!!!!!!" she called, her spirits boosted more by the appearance of her friend and teammate. June flew towards the Chaser and quickly said, "I'm clean!"

(Gryffindor Seeker)

Easter morning found Pamela running through the halls like a bat out of....well let's say she was running fast. She had bleached her nearly black hair and died it pink for Easter. She had also magicked her new Nimbus so that the handle was a soft blue and the tail a mint green. Her thoughts went mournfully toward her Firebolt. It was away for repairs and, for some reason, it was taking longer to fix than it should.

After what seemed like an eternity, Pamela finally made it down to the locker rooms. She changed with lightning fast speed, then ran full tilt onto the pitch. She was a bit surprised by what she saw. Four of her teammates were already there, and there was one Slytherin. No one had come onto the pitch to release the balls.

"Well, at least I'm not too late," Pamela said to herself as she mounted her broom and kicked off into the air. Then she flew around to each player, including the Slytherin, and tossed them each an egg from an inside pouch in her robes. She had made one for each player who came to the match. They each had different decorations and gifts inside.

(Slytherin chaser)

Shadow Roth stormed onto the pitch in her green and silver robes, long hair pulled into a tight plait. Her face was like thunder as she kicked off from the ground. Circling the pitch a few times, she spotted her fellow Slytherin player and nodded once at her. Clearing her mind, Shadow prepared herself to concentrate fully on the match ahead, not matter what her captains would say when they turned up.

Shadow observed the players already on the pitch. Hmmm, a lot of Gryffindors, but few Slytherins. I hope this turns out for the better!

(Gryffindor Seeker)

[psst, shadow. don't forget to put your team and position]

Pamela nodded to the new addition on the pitch, Shadow. She flew over to her and tossed her an egg. "Here ya go, Shadow," Pamela said smiling. "Everyone gets one today. Happy Easter!"

(Slytherin chaser)

Shadow caught it,
"Thanks! Happy easter to you too!" She said, slightly surprised.

(Slytherin Chaser.)

Shadow flew over to Ziggy, practicing alongside her team mate. She was glad not to be the only Slytherin there, as she knew that their captains would not be best pleased with them.

(Gryffindor Chaser and Co-captain)

"Let's show Slytherin what Gryffindor's all about!", June answered, after taking the chocolate and hugging her back. "That's the spirit, sis!", Cris said, nodding enthusiastically, then also noticed Cheery enter.

However, by the look of her face, Cheery seemed to be worrying about secondary problems like germs and dirt... again. Cris frowned. When would that girl stop worrying about those minor thing? Half-amused and half-annoyed, Cris watched as her teammate's expression changed from shock to disgust to pure horror. "Oi, Cheerums, we'll have to try some shock therapy later!", she jokingly shouted over to her after seeing her run away from what she had claimed to be a spider. Fearing Cheery would throw some tomatoes or reproaching looks, she coughed loudly, whistled and turned her head to the opposite direction.

.. from where her newly-arrived teammate Pamela surprised her by giving her an easter egg! "Thanks, Pammy!", Cris exclaimed and hugged her friend. "Squeeee! Can I open it, can I, can I, pleeeease?!". Not waiting for an answer, she cracked it open and discovered a small lucky charm shaped as a lion inside it. "Cuuute!". She hugged her friend again and attached the small lion to the tail of her broom, along with the egg-shaped-bells.

She then saw Shadow, Ziggy's Slytherin teammate enter the pitch. 5 against 2 so far, she mused. Let's hope some more Slytherins will appear soon...

(Gryffindor Seeker)

"No problem, Cris!" Pamela said. She decided it would be wise to get some warming up in. She began to fly around the pitch doing spiffy-looking, but surprisingly simple corkscrews and spirals. Then she worked on some dives.

Where on Earth is the referee? For that matter where are the Slytherins? Pamela wondered.

Then she turned a big--and useless--loop-the-loop midair. Sometimes Pamela just couldn't resist showing off.

(Slytherin chaser)

Shadow watched quietly as the gryffindor seeker was showing off, and smiled slightly. She urged her broom forwards and turned a spiriling backwards loop, before straightening out again.

(Referee)

Flying onto the pitch with ball box under one hand, Etta stopped in the middle of the pitch.

"Make this a good dirty fight!"

With that said, the box was opened, the bludger's shot off into the air, the snitch hoovered for a moment and sped off finally, lifting the quaffle into her hand, Etta threw it hard up into the air and sped off out of the way.

(Slytherin Chaser.)

Shadow darted forwards, grabbing the quaffle from the air. She glanced around, seeing no other slytherin chaser and sped off towards the Gryffindor goal hoops,praying that her team mates would turn up soon.

(Slytherin Chaser)

Shadow glanced behind her quickly and saw with slight relief that Ziggy had got onto the Gryffindor's case, hoping that she was going to aim for the keeper. Shadow started to zig-zag rapidly along the pitch, still going for the Gryffindor hoops, still hoping that some one else would turn up.

(Gryffindor Chaser and Co-captain)

"Make this a good dirty fight!" , Ettie, the referee, said releasing the balls. "Ohhh yes, bwahahahaha!", Cris agreed laughing evilly. She then looked around and noticed a few people were staring at her, obviously wondering and worrying about what the Gryffindor co-captain had in mind. "Uhm, I meant, let's have a fluffy and nice fair game, eh?!", she excused smiling angelically.

"And nowww, start!", she screamed from the top of her lungs, rushing forward to get the quaffle first. She found it particularly funny how the bells on her broomstick let everyone know where she was - obviously, not a good feature if she was to play, say, Seeker, but it was just .. funny. She considered attaching bells to her broom at every game. Moreover, they looked cute!

Skipping a bunch of her other random musings, we found ourselves following Cris' actions and thoughts again, as she had succeeded in chasing her Cleansweep 7 to the middle of the pitch, just underneath the spot where Ettie had let the Quaffle out .... however, shoot! It was too late, the Quaffle had gone...

Gritting her teeth, she grimly looked to the direction of the Gryffindor goalposts and surprise, surprise, the Slytherin Chaser was flying that way! Cris narrowed her eyes... where had she come from, anyway?! She clenched her fists around her broomstick and sped forward to get it, feeling ready to kill. Or well, almost.

(Slytherin Chaser)

Shadow saw the small black blur, that happened to be a hit blugder, head towards the goal hoops, faster than she was going. Shadow smiled slightly and put on a speed spurt, reaching the scoring area just after the bludger. Getting as close as she dared, Shadow threw the quaffle at one of the hoops, praying that it would go in. She grinned, and ducked as the bludger had made a 180 degree turn and then turned her own broom to head out of the scoring area.

(Slytherin Chaser)

Shadow turned to see Chris coming towards her, and neatly rolled out of the way of the oncoming chaser, thankful that the quaffle was too close to the hoops for the other chaser to be able to get it. She glanced at the ground again, hoping desperately to see another Slytherin player.

(Slytherin Chaser.)

"Great, some one else is here. I've already thrown the quaffle." Shadow said, sighing with relief. She glanced around, waiting for the opposite keeper to do something.

(Gryffindor Seeker)

Pamela had a split-second view of the snitch before it took off. Already there seemed to be a lot of action on the pitch. The Slytherin beater seemed capable of being at two places at once. She had hit a bludger toward the goal posts, but Pamela wasn't quite sure why. She hadn't seen the Gryffie keeper on pitch yet.

Shrugging, Pamela decided she had more important things to think about. She began circling the pitch to see if she could catch a glimpse of her tiny golden friend. While she did this, she decided to sing.

"Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trai--" Pamela choked. Something had hit the back of her throat. "Eew. I hope that wasn't a bug!" she yelled. She then decided it would be wise to avoid yelling or anything else that required a mouth that was opened wide.

(Slytherin Chaser... ahem... Ziggy?)

Shadow turned her head, expecting to see the Gryffindor Keeper zooming to save the goal, only to see that there was no one guarding the posts!!!!! Shadow's grin widened even more.

(Slytherin Chaser)

Shadow turned back to the goal hoops, just in time to see that last few milliseconds of the quaffle heading for the hops, with out their guardian to save them. The telling DONG raised a smile on her face as she dived to retrieve it.

(Slytherin Chaser)

Shadow's smile was evident as she returned to playing height with the quaffle securely under one arm. Quickly wiping it from her face, she resumed her usual I'm-not-in-the-mood-for-interruptions face, but couldn't mask the cheery glint in her eye.
"Soooo, want to take on the quaffle Jamoki?"

(Slytherin Chaser.)

Shadow smiled slightly as Jamoki flew off and followed him, crouching over her broom. Don't get to over-confident Jamoki... She thought to herself.

(Slytherin Chaser)

Shadow flew after Jamoki, willing him to just get the goal over with. Sighing, she continued her flight path towards the goal after her team mate.

(Slytherin Chaser)

Shadow drew her broom to a halt just outside of the scoring area, watching the quaffle as it made it's graceful arc towards the goal hoops.

(Gryffindor Beater and Co-Captain)

June looked down at her broom in sadness. Everyone else had decorated theirs’ for Easter… and Aethera remained plain! She smiled gleefully at it; soon, that would change. June drew her wand and pointed it at Aethera. Hoping her broomy dearest wouldn’t mind the temporary changes, June began to wave her wand and mutter spells. Before long, June’s broom became painted with streaks of pink and yellow pastels. Dangling from the end of Aethera were beads in the shapes of butterflies and flowers as well as miniature Easter eggs. June conjured a mirror and frowned at her hair that distantly resembled a bird’s nest: ick.

With a few more jabs and waves of her wand, her hair straightened itself out. June smiled and clipped her hair with an altered version of her usual Gryffie clip: long strands of yellow, green, blue, and pink pastel-colored beads dangled from the bottom of the clip, intermingling with the black of June’s hair, giving herself a slightly kaleidoscope-ish affect. She laughed and pocketed her mirror and wand and looked up, observing the game.

Her mouth dropped open in horror. Some time when she had been altering Aethera’s and her own appearances, the balls had been released! And what was worse, Slytherin had already scored! June’s eyes narrowed at the pesky players in green. She didn’t know them well, so she felt a bit better about her upcoming plans. June spotted a bludger out of the corner of her eye and pulled upwards on her broom. Aethera responded quickly and June shot up into the sky, focused on that bludger. The black ball was flying higher and June kept her eyes trained on it and its possible paths. It took a right, beginning to fly horizontally, and June followed it.

She ascended even more, however, but leveled out soon in order to trail the bludger from a spot slightly above it. She brought her bat up and focused on her target; it was almost time. There went the blur of green…. Yes! June slammed her bat down onto the bludger, diving behind the plummeting black ball and as the milliseconds elapsed, gave the ball another whack before she pulled away. Spinning around, June turned to see whether her bludger would find its target of that Slytherin-who’s-name-was-currently-escaping-her. Shadow, was it?

Gryffindor Chaser

Katie watched as the bludger knocked the quaffle of coarse. She was a little fustrated. After all, she wanted a goal for Gryffindor as much as anybody. She was starting to get cold as she often did even on the warmest of days. However she couldn't let the cold bother her. This was a match against Slytherian and she had to be on her toes.

Therefore she reacted as soon as people to the misdirected quaffle. As soon as she saw what was happening she had turned her broom into a better position. Katie hadn't acted before this because there was no way of telling which diretion it was going to rebound. However after the collision happened she laid flat on her broom and shot of towarsd the quaffle which was falling fast. She positioned her broom right under it and clenched her knees around the broom. Then she realesed her hands from the stick of the broom and caught the quaffle. She then exhaled a sigh of relief and turned her broom towards the Slytherian goals.

[Slytherin Chaser]

Emmalynn ran onto the pitch with her broom. Cat had just sent her a message saying they were short on players and needed her, but Emmalynn had never played in an actual game before! Still, she thought, I won't let those Gryffindors know that.

She flew up into the air, not quite sure what to do, and looked around for the Quaffle.
