The posts can begin on Saturday 22nd March - not before!
and will end on Wednesday 26th March - 5 days of rpg posting!

When you post - please put your position and team (eg. Gryffindor Beater) in brackets before you begin the RPG post - otherwise your post will be void of any points!

Remember to observe the new Quidditch rules: day one is for arriving to the pitch, after which the referee will post and the game can properly begin and chasers can no longer immediately state that they have scored. They must wait for the Keeper to post. See this post for more info.

(Gryffindor Beater and Co-Captain)

June narrowed her eyes and glared at the Slytherin Beater as she knocked away June's carefully-directed bludger. Ah well... June was just warming up. She noticed a bludger flitting below her, conveniently near the Slytherin Chasers. For a brief moment, June wondered why the Slytherin Beater hadn't reached it or even attempted to reach it, but June shrugged off the mental question and decided that there was no time to waste. She bent down and wrapped herself as much as possible around her broom. Squinting into the wind, June dove and began to gather speed. "Please Aethera!!!" June whispered through gritted teeth as the ground and the Slytherins became closer and closer. She spotted Jamoki and Shadow together at the Gryffindor goals and tweaked her broom up a notch so that she didn't slam into them... not quite, anyway. June then nudged Aethera down once more and began one of her many well-used moves, one that rarely failed her.

Gathering speed, June began to loop around Jamoki and Shadow, hopefully confusing them. She clutched her broom tightly and, when the centripetal force became almost too great to bear, June wrenched herself out of her loop, heading straight for the bludger that was only a few feet away. Thankfully, the black ball didn't decide to speed away in the moment that it took for June to reach it, and she was able to bring her bat up in time to slam the bludger. With both hands on her bat, June had hit the bludger between her legs and under her broom towards a pre-determined target. She swiftly spun around, wondering if her play had worked. She grinned; the bludger was hurtling towards the Slytherin Beater's back.

June rose higher into the air and levelled off, shooting towards Katie on her broom. As she passed her opposing Beater, June shouted, hoping that the girl would hear her, "You have to attack as well as defend!" Though part of her told herself that she probably shouldn't be giving advice to an opponent in the middle of a game, June's more practical part replied that giving advice made for a more exciting game.

(Slytherin Chaser)

Shadow snapped out of her trance, curing her mind for choosing the worst moments to zone out on her. She glanced around quickly and saw Ziggy whacking a bludger away from her.
"Hey! Thanks!" She shouted, and then way that there was another bludger heading tight for Ziggy. "HOI! WATCH OUT ZIGGY!" She yelled.

Shadow began to hunt for the quaffle, and just managed to spot it under one of the Gryffie's arms. Lying flat along her broom, eyes narrowed against the wind, she sped off after Katie, signaling quickly to her fellow chasers to follow her.

(Gryffindor Chaser and Co-captain)

After Jamoki had shot the Quaffle towards the Gryffindor goalposts, Cris felt a pang of pain in her heart - she really didn't want it to go in... oh! Bludger! Cris watched anxiously as Ziggy shot it out of its course to hit Shadow, it then hit the Quaffle - "Yay!", Cris shouted dancing a bit on her broom (dangling her feet, that is...) - and now it was time for her to get it, wasn't it? She flew hurried towards it, however she seemed to be too far away... From the corner of her eye, she saw Katie was closer than herself and luckily also had better reflexes, reacting right away on the Quaffle's course change.

Immensely relieved that the Quaffle was in Gryffindor possesion, Cris went over to casual flying around, while she waited for Katie to fly forward. She watched with quite some amusement her sister's Slytherin-confusing tactics and was amazed by the result. However, she didn't want to be in the skin of the hurt Slytherin beater.. it looked like one nasty hit in the side. Broken ribs?, she wondered, ouch!

She flew over to Ziggy. "Look, I know we're on different teams but ... please, listen to your teammates and go to see Madam Pomfrey!". She smiled and added, "Ehhh. Hope you'll listen. Really. And now excuse me, game to play!"

Scanning the air for Katie, she discovered she'd quite advanced in the direction of the Slytherin goalposts. She patted her broom's rough and worn by time wood, hoping it would be robust enough to stand this one last chase - it seemed like the many generations of Hogwarts students that had ridden it had left their trace... Let's go!, she thought, put on her most determined face and accelerated, until she was flying more or less parallel to Katie.

"Hey Katie!", she shouted over, "wanna show 'em what we can do together?"

(Slytherin Chaser)

Narrowing her eyes and gritting her teeth, Shadow darted after the Gryffindor Chasers, seeing that they were flying parallel. She put herself between them, making it very risky to pass. Her hands were tights around the broom handle, and she was determined not to let them score.

(Gryffindor Chaser and Co-captain)

Ay, ay, ay!, Cris thought as she saw two new problems in the way towards ultimate fame and glory ... erm, well actually, just towards scoring a neat goal into the Slytherin goalhoops. To her left, between herself and Katie, was Shadow, one of the Slytherin Chasers, obviously wanting to block the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious move Katie and her had in mind... and somewhere in the left half of the pitch, a new person in Slytherin robes had just made their appearance. Unfortunately, that person was holding a bat in their hands, which could only mean one thing....

Ah well, we'll deal with her later, she told herself and resolved to concentrate on playing to get a goal. She approximated the distance between the members of that red-green-and-red-again formation and concluded she might just about make it to fly to underneath Katie and have her pass by dropping the ball, not risking Shadow to get between them. She ducked and hurried downwards, the wind soaring by her ears. She didn't even notice whether Shadow was on her heels, but she could figure it wouldn't take her extraordinarily long to get between them again.

"Katie - NOWWWW!", she yelled, jerking her head upwards, hoping to get the Quaffle before Shadow did, but then she suddenly had an unexplainable feeling of dread in her stomach... She turned her head just in time to see an enormous black object inches from her face. "Why - what - ?"

She bent backwards, not really thinking, just doing whatever the reflexes Mother Nature had given her dictated. A loud CRACK! could be heard as the Bludger smashed against her chin. She only had time to think Mom!, then everything went black and she was in free fall, head down, her whole body numb and the fast spurting out blood spreading across her face and Quidditch robes.

Gryffindor Chaser

Katie sped off towards the goal posts. The wind was in her hair and the roar of it in her ears was deafening. However, she managed to notice Cris below her. Katie winked. They had a perfect plan in mind. Cris was staying slightly under her, not too close where she was in the way but just close enough so that Katie could easily pass to her. Then, Katie heard a resounding crack and turned around. She had come to associate that sound with bludgers, and that was never a good thing. What she saw made her puzzled. The bludger was definetly coming in her direction, however it was not aimed at her. As it got closer Katie realized what was going on. "CRIS!" she shouted.

It was too late. Cris was hurtling towards the ground. She heard someone shout "Wingardium Leviosa," but Katie knew it wouldn't work. She tossed the balls at the hoops not caring if she made it in, and darted towards Cris. She hadn't yet made contact with the ground, but it looked like she had already passed out from the force of the collision. Katie got under her and conjured a mattress, hoping it would cushion her fall.

(Gryffindor Beater and Co-Captain)

"Cris!!!!"

June turned her head at the shout of horror and she stared in shock at what she saw. Cris was hovering in midair - a glance told June that a Slytherin was levitating her - and she was all covered in blood and looked as if she had fainted... "Cris!!" June shouted though she knew her sister couldn't hear her, and bent low on her broom. She dived from her high vantage point and as the wind whipped her hair back, she narrowed her eyes and flattened herself against her broom. "Faster, Aethera!" June hissed to her broom and Aethera, ever faithful, complied. Finally, after what seemed like hours -though it was probably only a few minutes - June reached her friend and slowed. They were almost at the ground.

"Madam Pomfrey!" June called, recognizing the running mediwitch, and moved aside as the Healer flapped her arms. "Will - Will she be alright?" June's face was white and though she didn't know it, she was shaking. "Yes, of course, of course," Madam Pomfrey said quickly, waving her wand over the fallen player. As June watched in anxiety, Cris's blood vanished, she stopped bleeding, and color began to come back into her face. "Will she wake up? Before long? Should I get someone else to play Chaser?" June asked quickly, the words slipping and sliding as they fell from her tongue.

The witch continued to mutter spells over Cristina and as June waited for an answer, she turned her head to find who had saved Cris. Catching the eyes of the Beater who had done so - Dorothy, was her name? - June smiled at her in thanks. Then, she turned back to Cris, anxious to hear Madam Pomfrey's verdict. She knew her team would be able to cope without two players for a few more moments.

(Gryffindor Seeker)

Pamela had taken a while to figure out what all the excitement was about. She had heard a crack of the bludger making contact with something, but since she had become so accustomed to that sound, it barely registered. After a bit, she saw that Cris had been hit and was falling, covered in blood. "Shoot!" Pamela shouted.

Before long Cris was on the ground with Madame Pomfrey. She'll be fine, Pamela thought. While all this mass confusion was going on, Pamela thought it would not be a bad idea to use it to her advantage. Now that the Slytherin seeker was on the pitch, Pamela would have to work a little bit harder. While she was musing on these thoughts, Pamela saw a flash of gold to her right out of the corner of her eye. When she turned her head to the right, she saw that it was hovering at the opposite end of the pitch halfway between the goalposts.

Taking a quick look at the other seeker, Pamela saw that her attention was focused on Cris. As much as Pamela wanted to do the same, she knew she couldn't just abandon her job. Urging her broom forward she started head in the direction of the pitch. She just hoped that no one would notice what she was doing.

(Gryffindor Beater)

Izzy drew her covers up closely to her face as the wind blew through her window and into her small dormitory, filling every crevice with bitter cold air. Shivering, Izzy huddled under her covers while slowly opening her tired eyes. She blinked the sleep away from her eyes and slowly, the room came into focus. Groggily looking around her room, she saw her dresser, her trunk, and a variety of other miscellaneous objects. Finally, her eyes came to rest on her alarm clock, sitting on her bedroom table, and Izzy realized that the hour was much later than she’d planned to get up. She realized in horror that she was late for her quidditch game! She jumped out of bed and dizziness overcame her. She fell to the floor and puked. Standing back up, Izzy almost doubled over again as she realized that her stomach felt awful and that she had a pounding headache.

“What a great way to feel before a Quidditch match,” she grumbled, “especially against Slytherin.” Moving efficiently but not very quickly, Izzy got on her Quidditch robes and grabbed her Beater’s bat. As she descended the stairs, she thought about going up to the Hospital Wing, but there was no time for that as she’d already missed tons of the Quidditch game. She quickly stepped into the locket room, grabbed her broom, and walked out onto the field. Blinking her eyes again at the sudden sunlight, she mounted her broom quickly as she saw that Slytherin had taken the lead. Leaning over the side of her broom, she retched again and quickly felt much better. Izzy glanced at June on the ground but as she saw a black blur pass before her eyes, she quickly decided to go after the bludger instead of stopping to greet her teammate. Izzy zoomed after the bludger, darting through people and broomsticks in the process. Izzy rounded on the bludger and, with a quick glance around her, hit it directly in the middle of the bat and watched with glee as the bludger zoomed towards Jamoki’s head.

The bludger travelled so fast that it was almost impossible to stop. Izzy knew this because of the equation s(t)=-t^2 + 36rt – 19 where s equals the speed of the target object, where t equals the time in seconds that elapsed during the object’s travel, and where r equals the rate of the Beater’s bat’s swing. As Izzy smiled wickedly, she murmured, “If he doesn’t move out of the way in approximately 13 seconds, his head will get smashed to a pulp.”

(Gryffindor Seeker)

Pamela was still heading toward the snitch. Thus far she had gone unnoticed. That fact gave her the confidence to go a little faster. Leaning forward against her broom, Pamela accelerated. Before long she was just a foot or so shy of being an arm-length away from the snitch.

It was at that moment that Pamela swore she heard above the wind, the sound of someone retching. That was not a sound she was accustomed to on the pitch. She tried to resist looking, but it was instinctive. She turned and saw that Izzy had arrived on the pitch looking alarmingly pale. Knowing that the snitch was probably gone, Pamela looked back in the direction she was pointed. Naturally, the little bugger had zipped off.

"You son of a gun!" Pamela shouted after her golden former friend. "You were just hanging there for so long and you chose that moment to dart off?" Pamela realized that yelling at the snitch wouldn't accomplish much. She would just have to try to find it again. Heaving a somewhat dramatic sigh, she began to circle the pitch once more.

[Slytherin Chaser]

Emmalynn, who had been watching the coomotion below, turned her attention to the goal posts. She saw Kaylee's close save and smiled before urging her broom forward, toward the Quaffle.

As she was flying, Emmalynn heard something fly by her at alarming speed. She whipped around to see a Bludger soaring straight toward Jamoki's head. "Jamoki!! Bludger behind you! Dive!" she yelled to her fellow Chaser, hoping he would hear her and react in time.

(Slytherin Chaser)

Shadow dived to follow the two Gyiffindor chasers, still determined to stop them scoring. Quickly glancing round the pitch, she saw the other players were either hovering with blank looks on their faces, hovering with pained expressions on their faces, or chasing after something. Glancing towards the ground, she saw the nurse working on Chris and sighed slightly with relief. She may be a Gryffindor, and I may be a Slytherin, but she's still nice and I hope she isn't hurt too badly... Shadow shook herself mentally, and focused her mind on the game.

(Gryffindor Chaser)

Cheery found herself suddenly stopping all motion. She looked around and had a moment of,"What am I doing?" Luckily, as she was stopped, she saw Slytherin's Jamoki smile and since Cheery could read lips, she knew EXACTLY what was about to happen.

Cheery glanced around and suddenly took off for the Quaffle. Scarily enough, a bludger came bludgering by and almost hit Cheery. What would've happened had it hit her?! Was it against the Gryffindor team today? Was it bewitched?

(Gryffindor Seeker)

Pamela was still searching for the ever-elusive snitch. She was beginning to get a bit bored.

I thought seeker was supposed to be the dangerous position. I want some excitement.

She decided to go ahead and attempt to create some excitement. She let out an abrupt "Whoop!" of excitement, then immediately covered her mouth, as though it had been involuntary. Then she leaned forward on her broom and began flying as fast as she could toward the Slytherin goalposts.

If nothing else, she hoped it would draw the Slytherin beaters' attention away from her teammates. At best perhaps the seeker would follow her, and Pamela would be able to pull off a feint or something.

She definitely kept an eye out for bludgers and the snitch itself. She didn't want to miss out on catching it this time around.

[Slytherin Chaser]

Emmalynn flew off in the direction of Shadow and Jamoki, keeping a watchful eye out for any Bludgers. Lucky enough for her, it seemed that it was the Gryffindor team that was cursed today, so the Bludgers were soaring toward various members of her opponent's team. She arrived next to her fellow Chasers and said,

"Do we have some sort of plan? I've never done this and I'm feeling pretty useless right now..."

(Slyhtherin Chaser.)

Shadow grinned slightly from her position, and revealed the quaffle she had hidden behind her back. Shrugging apologetically, she darted off towards the other end of the pitch, towards the opposing goalposts, signalling for the other chasers to follow her.
