Christmas at Hogwarts

It was Christmas eve


Natalie sat at the Gryffindor table, which was half empty due to people going home for Christmas, but her sister and parents were on an away break in China, so she had decided to stay here. She wanted to play exploding snape with someone, but all her Gryffindor friends were absent.

Shadow smiled slightly, and accepted the package from Jamie, opening it carefully.

the suspense hung in the air

*yawn "Hm..already sleeping time." S.master walked outside.

A shimmering dress slid from the package, and Shadow's face lit up slightly.
"Thank you." She said, giving Jamie a hug.

"here to please" jamie grinned

Shadow let go and bowed her head to hide the smile on her face.

Jamie looked at her face, he smiled more

Shadow disappeared, but reappeared a few seconds later, wearing the dress.

"wow" jamie exclaimed interupting some of the others at other tables "looks good on you"

Shadow blushed,
"Thanks."

Jamie looked away, his smile was over bearing he just wanted to giggle like a little girl

Shadow quickly wiped the emotion from her face, but couldn't do anything about the happy glint in her eyes.

"well, whats it feel like?" asked Jamie"the woman in the shop wouldn't let me try it on" he joked

Shadow tried hard not to burst out laughing.
"It's great."

"right okay then, lets eatim starving"

Shadow nodded.

all the food in the world was layed before them, "mm.... what to eat?"

Shadow gently took a carrot stick and began to nibble on it.

Jamies Cheeta side was big on meat, but his human side wasen't he took a spoonful of potato and started to eat

Shadow watched everyone else carefully, her instincts getting the better of her.

Jamie looked up at Shad, he say she was scanning the room and then looked down again before the two made eye contact, he didn't want his heart to flip like it had done too many times before

Shadow sensed something coming from Jamie, but let it slide.

Jamie felt the heat of Shadows gaze galre over him, when it had passed he looked up again

Shadow looked up, locking gazes with the boy.

Jamie couldn't take his gaze off her, "fancy a walk?" he sent her telepatically

"Ok." She replied telepathically.

jamie got up and walked out the doors and took a deap breath waitiong for shadow

Shadow stood up, walking out after Jamie.

Jamie stared at Shadow here beauty was outstanding

Shadow gazed up at the sky, before looking at Jamie again.

"lets walk" he offered his hand

Shadow gently took Jamie's hand, walking alongside him.

"the stars are so beautiful aren't they," Jamie looked at Shadow, "they look all that much better when your with me"

Shadow gazed into Jamie's eyes.
"And the moon looks so much brighter now that you're here."

Natalie was left alone...

"I guess he can wait tell morning for his gift," she said to herself, and she tucked in to some treacle tart and ice cream.

Jamie looked up, the moon shone brightly, he pulled her closer and kissed her, and he never wanted to break free from her grasp

Shadow didn't fight against Jamie, but closed her eyes, enjoying the kiss.

Natalie wandered what Jamie and Shadow were up to.

jamie didn't break apar too soon, there was no struggle on both ends

Shadow didn't try to break apart either.

Jamie heard rushing in the trees and a teacher waked out "uh ohhh" Jamie whspered

Shadow leapt three feet in the air, eyes wide until she saw that it was a teacher.

It was snape, "twenty points from each house!"
"im dispointed in you Shadow, kissing a hufflpuff"

Shadow glared at Snape.
"I'm disappointed in you for not being able to see past some one's house." She replied.

"Shad, i wouldn't upset him at Christmas, he hates it enough" he sent her telepathically

"I know, but he gets on my nerves." Shadow replied telepathically.

Natalie got up and walked out of the hall and into the grounds. She noticed Shadow and Jamie....and another teacher was walking swiftly toward them. Immediately, she realised what he must have done, and quickly motion motioned to him and Shadow to get into the trees. She then jumped out so the teacher could see her only.

"Oh, sorry Professor, I was out for a walk...needed some fresh air....sorry if I startled you," she said, a little too quickly.

"Thats quite alright," said the teacher, "you haven't seen Jamie Parton around here, have you?"

"No sir," lyed Natalie.

"Very well then," said the teacher, and her walked on toward the trees where Jamie and Shadow were hiding.

"RUN!!!" Natalie yelled.

"What miss Patterson?" said the teacher, glaring at her....

Shadow nodded,
"Thanks!"

"okay lets get out of here, i think we should go back to the hall, or else we can all head to the dorms, christmas comes faster when you sleep.."
