Holly's Fourteenth Birthday

Holly glanced once again in her portable mirror, unconvinced.
"You look fine," Riley said, "Seriously. Can I eat cake now?"
"Not yet doll," Holly said grinning, and examined the landscape, "People will be arriving soon.....THEN you can eat cake,"
She laughed.

"Sorry," Holly said, "I havent been sure ever since I started using tamp- I mean .... a toothbrush...."

"Don't worry sweetface...you'll get used to it...right Nat?" Tiffany said.

"Oh yeah...you'll be fine again in a while," said Natalie, grinning approvingly at Holly.

Holly stared at them.
"What are you talking about?" she asked, worried.
Riley suddenly threw a pillow case at Natalie.
"HAHA PILLOW CASE!" he yelled.

Rose came around the corner, huffing and puffing. "She looked around and sat her gift down, then turned around and began to walk away.

"Hey!" NAtalie called, "where you off to in such a hurry?"

Rose froze. "Oh, me? I uh, was just dropping Holly's present off..."

"Aw...can't you stay?" Natalie asked.

"Thanks dude!" Holly said excitedly, "Stay, the party...is pumping.....kinda."

Rose looked around, then took a few steps forward. "Um, ok. I guess I can stay for a while..."

"Good!" Holly said, grabbed her, and began to dance.

"YAY!" yelled Natalie.

Holly rolled her eyes and massaged her throat which was sore.

Natalie passed Holly some pepper Imps.

"Here...these should help that in no time," said Natalie, grinning at Holly.

"Thanks," Holly said and took one, "IT DIDNT WORK!"

"You need to suck it you gimp," said Natalie, grinning.

"Oh," Holly said, and did so, "Thanks dood."

"Anytime," said Natalie.

"Yeah....." Holly said.

Natalie smiled randomly at her surroundings.

Rose sat down and blew the hair out of her face.

"Slushie?" Holly asked Rose, sitting next to her and offering her the ice based drink.

Natalie looked at Holly, offended.

"Where's mine?" she asked.

Rose smiled and took the slush. "Mmmmm..."

"Yours it waaaay over there," Holly said pointing, "Nice Rose?"

Natalie was a little disappointed. Just because she was weird did not mean people had to ignore her.

Rose let out a little laugh. "It's ok, Nat. I'm real small too."

"Um...not what I meant," said Natalie quietly.

Rose blinked, then blushed. "Oh..."

"I dont geddit," Holly said thoughtfully, "Are you alright nerd?"

Natalie smiled slightly.

Holly smiled back.
"LETS DANCE!" Holly said, and put on Fall Out Boy's" Dance Dance".

"Yay Yay...but I don't dance....unless I have to," said Natalie.

Rose nodded. "Me nether."

"Well you have to," Holly said seriously to Natalie.

"Fine," said Natalie, beginning to head-bang, "happy?"

Rose giggled.

"As a pig in mud," Holly said sweetly.

Natalie grimaced.

"Head rush," she mumbled.

"IM THE ONE WHO GETS THOSE!" Holly yelled.

Rose's hand clamped to her head. "OW, brain freeze..."

"Rage," Holly said, "I get those all the time. Shake it off!"

Natalie shook it off, and was happy again.

Rose hit her head on a pillow until the headache went away.

"Can I ask where the pillow came from?" Holly asked.

Rose blushed. "You probably don't want to know..." Jumping up, Rose headed towards the door. "Sorry, Holly. I have to go. Happy Birthday."

"Righto, um thanks for comin!" she called after Rose.

Rose waved. "Enjoy the present!" She hoped Holly would like the red and orange jacket she had made for her.

"Oooh...wonder where she's off to?" Natalie asked.

"I dunno," Holly said waving after her, "But on the plus side I get to open my present!"
She did so, and loved it.

"That is cool...what is it?" NAtalie asked.
