10 years later. Shadow and Jamies house.

Jamie ran down the stairs in a hurry, pulling on his sweater.
"hey..." he said to the person sitting on the stool in the kitchen...

"Hey!" Violet said, banging on the door. "If you dont open the door, I'll break it down." Violet said.

Shadow looked around desperately, but couldn't see a decent place to hide or to escape by. Jamie and Shadow had put anti-teleportation around the house, so she was effectivly stuck.

Violet oulled her wand out. Mumbling a charm, she open the door. "Shadow?" Violet asked. "What's the matter, why are you puking and ignoring me?" Violet asked. Violet put a hand to Shadow's forhead. "You dont have a fever. Have you ate something bad?" Violet asked.

"I don't know." Shadow said, leaning on the sink again.

Violet kept thinking and asked a personal question. "Um, I'm no expert, but have you had...your period? Because you have no fever and you cooking isnt that bad." Violet said.

Shadow sighed, rubbing her temples.
"I have no idea what's going on. I just don't get ill."

Violet started smiling and giggling. "Someone is having morning sickness." She said, laughing. "Shadow. I think you maybe be pregnant." Violet then had a ugly face. "Eww, you and Jamie did it! OH MY GOD!" Violet said, scrubbing her eyes. "Please say I'm wrong. Maybe your toast was not good. Maybe you did eat something wrong." Violet said.

"I don't think so, it doesn't work that way for me." Shadow said. "I know the human life cycle, but the demonic one tends to vary."

"Ok then good. So that means images can leave me head that arent meant to be in there. My best friend with my other best friend, thats just wrong." Vioelt said shaking her head. "I'm gonna go get Jamie." Violet said.

Shadow nodded, bowing her head and trying to think. Her mind wasn't working with her.

"Jamie!" Voiolet yelled, looking around the house. "Yo! Your girly is sick or something else. I think something else, but she begs to differ." Violet said.

Shadow slowly walked down the stairs before going into the kitchen and taking out an asprin. Sitting down, she swallowed it quickly.

"I wouldnt do that." Violet said, sitting down. "Well, you could always just take a test to make sure?" Violet asked. "Even if I dont know how yall work, all test pick of the hormones." Violet said.

"Do I really want to know?" Shadow asked darkly, putting her head down on the table.

"Come on." Violet said, rolling her eyes. "I know yall have potions." She said.

"Yeah, but not of that kind." SHadow said.

"You dont even know how to make it. Not my dad's way. Which, by the way, is completely harmless and tells the gender and weeks. He did it to make sure no death eaters had...girls there first time." Violet said, with a look of disgust on her face.

Shadow started banging her head off the table, muttering in demonic.

Violet started mixing the potion ingerdients the way her father taught her. After an hour and a half, she took some from the couldron. "Come on." Violet said, holding out a needle. "I got to prick your finger."

"Do I really want to know this?" Shadow asked.

"Well if you dont. I do." Violet said, grabbing Shadow's hand and pricking it. "Now, all you have to do is let the blood drip in. Blue means boy, pink is girl, and black is just...nothing. The weeks and month of how old it is will float up."

Shadow wrenched her hand out of Violet's grip.
"I don't think that I am... you know..."

"Just drop the blood!" Violet said. "Come on. It cant turn purple, I mean. Neither of you have twin. So it's alright."

"Purple?" Shadow asked. She sighed, allowing one drop of her blood to drop before she healed it.

Violet watched for the potion to make some colors.

Shadow put her head back down on the table, closing her eyes.

"Shadow..." Violet said. "I think someone is having a boy." Violet said, smiling, only for it to change colors. "A girl?" She asked til it settled on purple.

Shadow looked up.
"Ok, what does that mean?" She asked, confused.

"It's either faulty, or someone is having...twins?" Violet asked. "I know what all the colors mean....but do you even have a set of twins in your family?" Violet asked.

Shadow looked at Vioelt with an isn't-it-obvious look.
"I didn't think you'd ever forget Raven."

"Wait...I thought you two were half sisters?" Violet asked. And then jumped up. "Your having twins, your having twins! EWW!!! get the nasty images out!" Violet said, rubbing her eyes."You have to tell Jamie, he will be happy. My two besties having babies!" Violet said, sitting down. "Come on, I'm not suppose to be the happy one, you are!"

"No, twins, just not quite identical." Shadow said, "And I was kind of hoping that I wouldn't ever be pregnant." She said in a quieter tone.

"Well, there is two options. One is abortion and if you do it, I most likely wont talk to you. And two, adoption, which you can have open and you can keep your pregnancy secret." Violet said, feeling sad. "Why wouldnt you want children?" Violet asked in a quiet voice. "They are so cute. And to know that you can have something to watch adn care and love for. You dont want that?" Violet asked.

"It's not that, it's the future they're likely to have. Any of my children will have to bear the curse of being part demon at least, if not half. The Senate will also try to take them into custody and raise tham like Raven and I were, cut off from society. I don't want that for them. I want them to have the options I never had." Shadow said softly.

"Oh." Violet said. "I know something you could do, but then that would sound selfish." Violet said.

"What?" Shadow asked.

"Dont get mad know. But, first, can a pregnancy be hidden here in the....place?" Violet asked.

Shadow thought for a minute.
"I work with the pegasus herd, breaking them in, so I can keep them here. That would mean I don't leave the garden walls."

"What?" Violet asked, confused. "Pregnant women say the weirdest things." She said, shaking her head.

"I train them to fight and to hold a rider on their backs." Shadow translated, rolling her eyes.

"ok?" Violet said, still confused. "I;m just going to find Saken and Jamie."

Shadow nodded wearily.
"I'll be outside with Merlas." Shadow said, walking out of the door to join the pegasus lying in the garden.

"Saken!" Violet yelled, walking up to her room. "Knock knock."

Shadow gently stroked the mare, who nuzzled her in return. Shadow had been given Merlas when no one else could ride her, thirteen years ago.

"Saken." Violet said, opening the door. "Your aunt has something to tell you."

Shadow untied Merlas and mounted sidesaddle, holding on lightly to the single rope. With a small tap of her heels, Merlas launched herself into the air with powerful strokes of her feathered wings.

Saken glared and Violet rolled her eyes. "Come on." She said.

Shadow leaned her head against Merlas' mane, enjoying the cool air washing over her.

Violte and Saken went down stairs. "Just wait for her to come back."

Merlas landed in the garden again, ten minutes later. Shadow slipped off her back bfore resting her head once more against Merlas' neck.
