10 years later. Shadow and Jamies house.

Jamie ran down the stairs in a hurry, pulling on his sweater.
"hey..." he said to the person sitting on the stool in the kitchen...

Shaeman sighed, tucking the blankets around the girl before silently leaving.

Violet got up and walked out the back door, sitting down on the swing.

Shaeman decided to keep watch over Allyssa and sat, crosslegged, in a corner of the room.

Violet held her head down. "My own daughter hates me." She whispered. Violet stood up and decided to check on them before she went to sleep.

Shaeman didn't move, he hardly breathed, not wanting to disturb the sleeping child.

Violet nodded on the door sileintly. Walking in, she saw Aylssa was asleep. Raising an eyebrow, she looked to see where Sheaman was.

Shaeman silently raised a hand to show where he was.

Violet walked over to him. "What happen?" She asked in a whisper. "She hates me doesnt she>" She asked

"I'm working on it." Shaeman whispered back.

"So they brought her up to hate my kind?" She asked, sitting down.

"It would seem so." Shaeman replied.

Violet leaned her head back. "I cant beleive that. Shouldnt they be trying to prove demons are bad?" Violet asked, looking over at Alyssa. "Atleast she has some black hair." Violet mumbled

Shaeman shrugged.
"She just needs some more education."

"You really think she will listen to me, let along look?" Violet asked.

Shaeman nodded.
"Once she's been taught a bit more, she'll see reason."

Violet nodded and leaned her head on his shoulder. "While I was gone, I killed someone by accident." Violet said.

Shaeman raised an eyebrow.

"I was trying to help a muggle, I have no idea why, and I killed a wizard. Come to find out, he was trying to get a way from him, not the other way around." Violet said.

"Vi, you're not making sense." Shaeman said.

"What do you mean?" Violet asked, yawning.

"I don't understand." Shaeman said.

((Talking of yawning, I have to go sleep, see you later.))

Violet went to talk but fell asleep, laying her head on his lap.

Shaeman stroked her hair gently, deep in thought.

5 hours later****


Violet woke up. "I fell alseep didnt I?" She asked, looking at the sun starting to rise.

Shaeman nodded slowly.

Violet satyed laying on his lap. "What are we going to tell her and all today?" Violet whispered, loking at Alyssa.

"I'll start teaching her." Shaeman said. "She seems to listen to me."

Violet nodded. "I'll saty elsewhere." Violet said.

"You don't have to if you don't want to ." Shaeman said.

Violet turned so she was laying on her back to look up. "I'll be in the way. She hates me and doesnt really care if anything happens to me cause I'm a human." Violet said, "She could snap and most likely hurt me if she is strong. Even though she doesnt have powers...so I guess not. I'll stay for while." Violet said, turning back on her side.

"If you want." Shaeman said.

"I'll stay for a while. If she doesnt do right, I'll leave." She mumbled.

Shaeman nodded.
"I'll start her lessons once she wakes up, so I'd better go and get ready."

"I'll stay here until you get back incase she wakes." Violet said, sitting up.

"OK." Shaeman said quietly, getting up and silently leaving the room.

He looked through the shelves, selecting a few books before setting them on the table along with a quill, ink and parchement. He returned upstairs so that he was there when Alyssa woke up.

Violet stood up and walked over to the bed. Alyssa turned a little before waking up. "Morning." Violet said smiling. Alyssa looked at her with a glare, before pulling the covers over her head. "I tried." Violet mumbled.

Shaeman walked in to the room, and saw that his daughter was awake. He sat on the edge of her bed, and a gently pulled the covers away.
"Wake up, today I'm going to start your lessons." He said.

Aylssa pulled the covers from her head and smiled. "The human wouldnt leave me alone." She said, crawling over to him. "She woke me up." She whispered.

"I asked her to. And stop calling her 'that human'. She deserves some respect." Shaeman scolded.

"Thats all she is, a human." Alyssa mumbled, crossing her hands.

"what happened there?" he asked not even asking who the girl was, he knew better than to ask...

Shadow put her hand on his shoulder.
"That's Violet's daughter. She lost her a few years ago."

"whoa!" Jamie jaw opned
"and whats all the shouting about then?"

Violet walked over to where Shadow and Jamie where. "Hi." She said.

"well answer me!" he said uninterested

"Senate got her, taught her that humans were stupid, and Violet's human." Shadow said quietly.

"so Violets daughter thinks her mother is stupid? wouldn't be far off then would she?" he laughed

Violet felt tears sprng to her eyes.

Shadow shot a glare at Jamie.
"Of all the stupid heartless things to say!"

"Im not stupid." Violet whispered.
