The Escape

Shadow ran across the Hogwarts grounds to where Merlas was waiting for her patiently, two smaller figures following her as closely as they could. The pegasus nickered gently as she approached and shook her mane. Shadow lifted the two figures onto the horse's back, and the moonlight showed two five-year-old girls. Shadow gathered up the reins, passing them to the child in front, but keeping one hand on Merlas' bridle.
"Remember what I taught you about riding and flying. Merlas will keep you safe."
"But why do we have to go?" One girl said. She had black hair and one white streak at the front, with fearful violet eyes, clinging onto her sister's waist as she sat behind her.
"It's not safe for you here Onyx." Shadow replied soothingly.
"Why not?" Asked Onyx's sister, who had deep violet hair and three white streaks. She seemed to be irritated at having to leave.
"Peace Archangel, if what the messenger said is true, my father, the big demon, is back and it isn't safe for you here. ON top of that, you have demon haters here. I want to keep you safe. Do you understand?" Shadow said.
"But..." Archangel started to say.
"Do you understand?"
"Yes mother..."

"He's coming..." Shadow whispered, her eyes wide, unblinking.

"A demon." Violet said, pulling her wand out. "I swear Shadow. I'm not letting him hurt us this time." She said.

Shadow screamed again as Kar forced his way into her mind, it was as if he was ripping it to pieces.

Phoenix looked at Violet "Is Kar her father?" she asked

"Shadow? Can you like, speak to us?"
Holly glanced nervously at Onyx and Archangel.

"Shadow.." Violet said, grabbing her shoulders. "Come on, sit down." Violet said. "Wheres Raven or Shaeman. I dont know what you need. Hell, we need Raven." Violet said.

Phoenix kept her eyes no Shadow "Come on Shadow block him you can do it" she said

Archangel was gripping the mane tightly and Onyx was clutching her sister as Shadow writhed in pain.
"They're not here." Archangel told Violet.

"Thats right," Holly said nodding, "Block 'em Shad. You know you can kid."

"No she cant." Violet said. "Kar is like my dad, the powerful one where he comes from." Violet said. "What...we need Raven." Violet said, grabbing the girls shoulder. "Where is she?" Violet asked.

Phoenix watched the conversation but understanding anything that was a occuring

"Vi, chill," Holly said taking Archangel from her, "Double A, do you know where Raven is?"

Shadow panted heavily, twitching in pain, but managed to throw up her mental barriers, stopping Kar. She lay, quivering on the ground in shock.
"Raven's not here." Archangel whispered, watching her mother.

Shadow didn't move, her eyes wide open, unblinking.

Phoenix went to her friend's aid "Shadow, its alright" she said

Holly sighed in relief, but was still tense.
"Are you alright?" she asked Shadow softly.

Shadow sat up very shakily, leaning against Merlas' forelegs, shaking like a leaf.
"He's coming, he knows where we are..."

Phoenix stood up "Shad, who is Kar?" she asked

Holly bit her lip.
"We need like, protection," she said, though it was obvious, "Anyone know any good spells?"

"Kar, my father, demon..." Shadow mumbled.

Phoenix nodded "Ahh" she said "I may know a spell"

Holly, who had heard awful stories of Shadows father, narrowed her eyes.
"We cant let 'em get in!" she exclaimed and cast a fruitless hex around them, trying to protect them.

A mist crept over the grounds of Hogwarts before it thickened and a figure appeared in it, a cloaked figure, heading towards the group.
"Allyssianne..." It said in a growling, rasping voice. Shadow trembled, getting to her feet. The figure lowered the hood on it's cloak to show a deathly pale man with four blood red eyes, just like Shadow in demonic possession. Kar had arrived.

Holly swore and automatically stepped backwards onto Phoenix's foot.
"Sorry," she whispered, and then raised her voice, "OI! YOU! GET OUT!"

Phoenix could see an ashen figure appearing out of the distance, she pulled her wand. She already consider him a threat and watched as he approached them.

Shadow managed to get herself together and face off her father. Merlas snorted and pawed the ground, the two children frozen with fear.
"Father..." Shadow said.
"Allyssianne." Kar replied.
"Leave this dimension."
"You know that we have... unfinished business."
"Business that will never be finished."

Phoenix stood beside Shadow with her wand raised.

Holly debated between staying with Shadow and going to the children. Eventually she stopped thinking altogehter and stood where she was, wand raised like Phoenix, pointing it at Kar.
"We are stronger than you," Holly invented, "Look just go away mate, we dont want trouble."

Shadow was trembling slightly, but tried her best to hide it as Kar continued to advance. He raised a hand, black magic erupting from the ground around Phoenix and Holly, creating prisons.

Phoenix glared "Leave" she hissed with her wand still raised.

Shadow started to shake even more as she saw that she was alone. Kar smirked, advancing still.

Holly furrowed her brow and advanced, but the black magic bounded her back against the other wall of the prison.
"Phoenix?" she called, "Shadow....um....you ari?"

Phoenix muttered a spell braking the bound of magic surrounding her, "Holly!" she said.

"Yeah," Holly called, "Hi, im here, see if Shadows alright, im surviving in here,"
She cast a few spells at the black wall surrounding her, but nothing penetrated it. Holly sighed. "Well this is good...."

Kar raised a hand, palm facing upwards. Several grains of something silvery appeared before growing and taking the shape of a circular band. Shadow knew what was coming and backed away, but Kar sent it forwards faster than she could react. She felt it constrict around her head, a band of pure silver.

Phoenix went over to Kar her wand raised "STOP!" she hissed.

Holly heard Phoenix scream and stopped humming to keep herself amused.
"Phoe? What? What happend? Is Shadow okay? Phoenixette Rosenburg answer me child!"

Phoenix turned to face Holly and raised an eyebrow "Phoenixette?" she asked

Violet stood up. "Kar....long time no see." She said. "Do us a favor...leave." She said, pointing her wand.

Shadow pulled at the band of silver around her head, trying to get it off, but to no success. She stood next to Violet, feeling it burn her skin, but not letting on her pain.

"Come on Shadow." Violet said, wrapping her arms around her shoulder.

Phoenix turned to see Violet "Wondering when you would join" she said to her, still having her wand raised at Kar.

"Lets just leave," Holly suggested sarcastically, "What a great idea....CAN YOU GET ME OUTTA HERE PHOENIX PLEASE?"

Shadow watched Kar advancing, his magic on display, as Shadow trembled with a mixture of fear and pain.

Violet stood pointing her wand at Ka. "What do you want?" She asked.

"To finish unfinished business." Kar said. "Which is between Allyssianne and myself, so stand aside."

Holly rolled her eyes.
"Never mind," she said, and listened to the fight, wishing she could help.

Phoenix shook her head "A bit busy here" she replied sarcastically, she turned around and muttered she spells, the bound around holly disappeared.

"Never." Violet sneered. She stood between them, glaring

"You do not have a choice." Kar said, smirking.

"Yes I do. Hear the good news?" She asked
