OWL Exam Hall (Exams starting with History of Magic)

Natalie Patterson sat at a little desk two rows from the front and watched as the examiner explained the rules.

"On your desk," said the examiner, "you will find you test paper. Do not turn it over until I tell you to begin. There will be not talking, coping or cheating of any kind. Normal quills are to be used. You have one hour for your History Of Magic paper. Any confuring answers and your paper will be given a 'T'...you may begin...now," the examine turn over a large hour glass.

Immediately, Natalie turned over her paper and began to scribble frantically.

"That's not your fault though..." said Natalie, "old pom pom should lighten up a tad."

She grinned.

Sam sat down and dragged the paper towards her she sighed and then carried on with History of magic she hated this subject but she was okay at it, didn't make it any less boring though did it?

Shadow shrugged.
"A normal girl my age should be 55-60 kilos, right? I'm 40."

"Weird," Holly commented, "I think Im that too....."
She thought about how much she ate.
"That is creepy."

"That'll be because of the part demon thing...and the fact of the weekly power surge," said Natalie wisely.

"Power surge," Holly repeated giggling, then stopped, "Sorry thats not funny."

"I'm due to go into power surge again tomorrow." Shadow said, pulling a face.

Holly snorted at power suge again but covered it with a hasty cough.

Shadow sighed as she looked at Holly.
"You're welcome to join me and feel the pain. You won't be laughing then."

Natalie hit Holly on the amr.

Then, as the people filed out of the exam hall, chairs could be heard screeching across the floor.

"We'll be ready of you again in five minutes...have your wands out," said the examiner.

Shadow swallowed hard, drawing the polished black wand from her belt.

"Sorry," Holly mutterd, taking out her well thumbed wand from under her cloak.
"Dont fail me mate," she said to Melrose, her wand.

NAtalie took her 10 and a half inch vine wood and unicorn hair wand out and looked at it, grinning.

She looked at Shadow.
"You should be fine if you remember what I taught you," said Natalie, smiling nervously.

Shadow nodded, biting her lip.

NAtalie touched Shadow's arm comfortingly.

"Trust in yourself...and your wand...and you will achieve," said Natalie.

"I trust in my mind normally." Shadow said, trying to ake a joke.

"Jokes do not apply in my head right now..." said Natalie softly, "all I know is that if I don't pass this exam....I'll never be able to face myself again."

"That joke sucked," Holly commented taking out a lolly pop, "Yum...>"

"At least you'll pass everything else." Shadow pointed out.

"Transfiguration is my best subject....It'd be like Chucky failing killing..." said Natalie.
She began to scratch the palms of her hands and run her fingers through her hair.

Holly yawned pointedly and thought about lunch.

Shadow's expression remained emotionless, but her hand kept curling repeatedly into a fist.

Holly sighed lightly.
The examiner opened the door.
"We are ready for you, come," he instructed.
"Who do you think you are the bloody examiner?" Holly asked outraged. She rethought. "Never mind."

Sam looked donw at her paper it would have to do, she didn't have much time before he next exam, this was proving to be a long long day.

Shadow walked in after the examaner, looking like he was an executioner.

San ran out the door, and into the corridor, she didn't have much time for her next exam. She saw the last girl go in, "Thank god.." she sighed and walked in behind her

The examiner came out with a list.

"Ok....Patterson, Natalie.....Roth, Shadow.....Bristol, Holly...you're in first," said the examiner.

NAtalie walked into the hall.

"You'll be with Professor Glander," said the examiner, pointing to a stern-faced woman.

Natalie swallowed and walked over to the woman, and waited.

"Good afternoon," Natalie said politely to the examiner.

"Good afternoon Miss Patterson...I trust you're ready to begin when it is time," said Professor Glander.

"Yes," said Natalie, smiling slightly and running her fingers through her hair again.

"Good luck Nerdalie," Holly called sticking her thumbs up. She took a seat next to Shadow on a bench to watch.

Shadow held her wand lightly, managing to do all the spells she was asked to do.

Holly watched and applauded at all the wrong places.

Shadow frowned as the examiner said something. She nodded, putting down her wand before teleporting to the other side of the room and back.

Natalie smiled at Holly.

"Ok miss Patterson...I want you to change that parrot over there into a wart goblet for me," said Professor Glander.

Natalie walked up to the parrot.

She flicked her wand three time and then said, "Feriverto."

The parrot instantly changed into a golden wart goblet with red rubies on either side.

"Well done..." said the examiner, "next, I would like you to make the egg-cup on that table dance for me."

Natalie walked over to the table nervously, and cast the spell non-verbally.

The egg-cup got up on a pair of strong looking legs and did a kind of jive.

"Excellent....extra points for non-verbal," said the examiner.

Natalie smiled, waiting for the examiners assistant to set up the next piece of equipment for her to transfigure.

Shadow morphed into a wolf, looking up at her examiner.

Holly made a retching noise as her examiner approached her.
"Hello," he said brightly.
"Hi," Holly said nodding. At least it was a guy. Ten extra points for flirting with him. Yay!

"Now...what I want you to do is turn that teapot into a turtle," said the examiner.

Natalie did so perfectly.

She was then to vanish a kitten, and that also went without a hitch.

She was then to turn a rabbit purple, which went well too.

She then, for a little extra credit, apparted to the other end of the room and back, turned eyebrows yellow without a wand, and gave the examiner the dread-locks she'd always wanted without and wand.

"Superb," said the examiner, eyes bright as she fingered her new hair style, "a flawless exam...you may leave."

Natalie exited the room, grinning.

"Nerd," Holly coughed as Natalie left.
"Im sorry?" Mr Hillder asked.
"Nuthin," Holly said smiling sweetly at him, "I was just saying, you dont really look old enough to have a son at this school."
"Uh....well thank you Miss Br-"
"Please, call me Holly," Holly said blinking slowly.
"Holly then," Mr Hillder said, "Could you please turn this pin into a match?"
"Sure, for you," Holly said, and actually managed it.

Natalie grinned at Holly's technique as she left....not that she approved...but anyway.
She put her thumbs up at Holly and mouthed, "Good Job!"

Sam walked out of the room after Natalie
"hello, hard wasn't it?" she asked the girl a curious look on her face.
She had enjoyed the exam but she was really stuggling, although she did manage to complete everything, she knew her nerves and concentration had given her away. The examiner had looked at her and noted how bad she looked, she had caught his glance and told him that it was her OWLs what did he expect, that was followed by alot of scribbling on his page.

Hayley sat on the bench, watching Holly nervously. She clenched her wand in her pocket, reciting her revision in her head.

Holly winked at Natalie, and soon after, her exam ended.
"WOOO!" Holly yelled out and after nodding to the examiner, she ran out of the hall.
"Hallo Sam, Hayley, Nerdalie, sup guys?"

Natalie smiled at Sam.
"It wasn't really too hard for me....being a Metamorphagus and all...iTransfiguration just takes practice....don't worry...you'll have done fine."
She looked at Holly.

"Why are you so happy?" she asked.

"Am I?" Holly asked, "I was unaware of- HI!"
All attention was on the just emerged Riley now.
"Hey," he said sadly, "I totally messed up, how bout you?"
"I think I did alright," Holly said shrugging, "Im sure you didnt mess up.....did you?"
"Yes,"

"Why...what did you do?" Natalie asked Riley.
She looked at him, frowning slightly.

"I was trying!" Riley assured her, "I just.....I was so pre occupied! I couldn think straight!"

"Ah, I see," said Natalie, winking at Riley.
She knew what he had been thinking about...or should I say who.

"What secret are you sharing?" Holly demanded, "Tell me now or Ill scream!"
"How incredibly mature you are babe," Riley said sarcastically, "What's the next exam?"

"DADA practical," said Natalie, "another good subject of mine...then we have to wait a whole day to do some more exams..." said Natalie, frowning sadly.

"Oh no!" Holly said sadly, "I wish we could do them all today and then all day tomorrow and then-"
"You're being sarky," Riley reminded her.
"Sorry," Holly said, "I take it back."

"Don't worry...time flies when your doing exams," said Natalie, grinning happily.
She gave Holly a little push.

Sam smiled at Natalie and turned around to go for her DADA exam. This was turning out to be one hell of a day, she couldn't xope with all this tooing and froing. too much hastle.
