OWL Exam Hall (Exams starting with History of Magic)

Natalie Patterson sat at a little desk two rows from the front and watched as the examiner explained the rules.

"On your desk," said the examiner, "you will find you test paper. Do not turn it over until I tell you to begin. There will be not talking, coping or cheating of any kind. Normal quills are to be used. You have one hour for your History Of Magic paper. Any confuring answers and your paper will be given a 'T'...you may begin...now," the examine turn over a large hour glass.

Immediately, Natalie turned over her paper and began to scribble frantically.

Natalie smiled.
"See, told you it would work....just keep ypu grip quite lose and you should do fine," said Natalie.

"Im such a good teacher," Holly said breathlessly, pleased with herself.

Shadow smiled at Natalie.
"Thanks."

"I taught her- you know what...never mind," said Natalie, frowning slightly, "and your very welcome Shadow."
She took out her arithmacy notes for some last minute revision time.

"I taught her," Holly argued looking over Natalie's shoulder.

"Whatever," said Natalie, without looking over her notes.
She read through them four times, then put them away.

"Has the bellllll rang yet," Holly said, but emphasis on bell for no reason.

Shadow shook her head, trying to accomplish some spells.

"How are you coping?" Holly asked smiling down at her.

Shadow raised an eyebrow and pointed her wand at Holly, making a jet of water blast out of the end.

"Good one Shadow...your really improving with a wand," Natalie said, grinning broadly.

Holly snorted at this sentence and then nodded.
"Aye you are kid."

Natalie grinned at Holly.
"She got you," she smirked at Holly.

Shadow smiled.
"I couldn't even make sparks for the last seven years!"

"See what a little hele from a nerd can do?" Natalie grinned at Shadow.
She gave her a little push.

Shadow grinned and pushed Nat back.

Hayley popped up beside Holly, looking frustrated. "Dudes," she said, "I was sick all morning, McGonagall told me to miss the exam, I swear, I near died. She said I can sit it some other time. Anyway, what do we have next?" she added, panting.

"Arithmacy...then Transfiguration and DADA practicals," said Natalie to Hayley, "how the heck did you manage to miss your exam?"

"SHE WAS SICK!" Holly yelled loudly at Natalie. She was trying to be helpful, but might have damaged some ears in the process.

NAtalie looked at Holly.
"I had realised that...but you know, these are the most import exams in the wizarding eduction corriculum (sp?)....appart from NEWTs....I'm just trying to make sure Hayley gets the good grades she deserves," said Natalie firmly.

"You're so pretty when you're mad at me .... so you're pretty all the time ..."
Holly took a deep breath....and ran away.

Natalie looked at Holly.
"I hope you're not going off to cram-revise for Arithmacy...are you?" Natalie asked.

"Nadda chance!" Holly yelled and continued running. The bell rang and so Holly returned.
"Hi," she said brightly, "Time for Arithmacy! YAY! Not...."

Natalie entered the Great Hall and walked to the front of the room.
She took her seat at the desk she had been sitting at for the last exam.
The paper was on the desk, ready for when the examiner said to start, along with her quill and ink.

"And everyone KNOWS im in over my head......over my head......" Holly sang, smiling at the examiner as he passed her her exam, "Eight seconds left-"
"BE QUIET!" the examiner hissed, "Or I will fail you!"
"Ooooh," Holly said, "Somebody's time of the month, and I can fail myself thank you! Im not totally worthless!"

"The examination has begun...turn over your papers," said the examiner.

Natalie turned over her exam and finished the first question in ten seconds flat.
She completed question after question with great ease.

Hayley not her lip, and sucked the top of her quill, as she looked at the questions. She frowned, and scribbled the answers, as neat, and correct as possible.
She looked around her, and saw Nat, her quill flying down the paper. She surpressed a grin.

Natalie continued fly through the questions, but being very careful to make sure her answers matched her summations.
She had her paper finished within the first half-hour and was ready to check through it.

"You're doing well!" Holly commented Natalie. The examiner was in front of her in a second.
"Paper Bristol," he said and Holly handed him her exam, frowning.
"Wait outside for the rest of the class, you have recieved a zero for your Arithmacy exam."
"Rude," Holly said, and flounced off, being sure to flick him with her hair as she turned.

Natalie looked at the examiner with pleading eyes.
"She didn't mean it...please let her come back," she whispered.
"Oh...very well...Miss Bristol...you will resit your exam at another time," said the examiner.

"Screw your exam mate, Im gonna go get slushies- luck Nat!" Holly called and waved.

Natalie waved, thanking the examiner for offering Holly a second chance and then continuing to check her paper for the sixth time.
She wanted to make absolutely sure she had all the questions done correctly.

Hayley frowned as she finished her exam, gave it to the examiner, and followed Holly and Natalie out the door, "Man," she said, "I hardly revised for that, it was seriously hard," she added, biting her lip, "I've so failed,"

Natalie handed her exam in with a grin, then followed the other two to the door.
"Now that went well," said Natalie, grinning, "we have to waited outside the hall while the others finish and then we go back in when all the desks are moved for the practicals...that is...when we are called."

"I think there's a chance I failed too Hayles," Holly said nodding seriously.

"Do either of you need Arithmacy for what you want to do?" Natalie asked them.
She looked at the two seriously.

"Nope, I need flying and Transfiguration. I think that's it....then DADA ....." Holly added thoughtfully.

"Transfiguration is my best subject..." said NAtalie, "can't wait 'til we can go back in and do our practical in Transfiguration....should be fun..."

Shadow ran out of the hall, muttering under her breath.
"I swear I will never know why I took that stupid subject."

"I will never know why I try at this school!" Holly said reasonably, "Im just gonna fail basically..."

"Ach, you won't fail EVERYTHING." Shadow said. "You'll pass the practicals at least!"

"YAY!" Holly said grinning, "I suppose....and your wand work is good now so you'll do fine...."

"I agree," said Natalie, "I think you'll both pass well....definately.

She grinned at the two.

Shadow smiled back at her friends.

Holly rolled her eyes at the two.
"Whens lunch?" she asked rubbing her stomach, "All iv'e eaten today is six eggs, three pieces of toast, seven bowls of cereal a jaffa cake bar a Penguin (mwah ha ha) an egg sandwich and ten slushies! IM STARVED!"

Natalie looked at Holly.
She took out a blood pop.
"Want one?" she asked Holly.

Shadow raised an eyebrow.
"I've had one piece of toast and a glass of water Hol, get a little perspective."

Sam walked into the room, she wasn't happy about arriving in late but she had no choice, at least she was allowed in.

"S'not my fault," Holly said non perplexed, "I eat a lot! Get over it kids!"
She made a "doy" sound.

Shadow shrugged.
"Pomfrey keeps saying that I'm way too skinny."
