OWL Exam Hall (Exams starting with History of Magic)

Natalie Patterson sat at a little desk two rows from the front and watched as the examiner explained the rules.

"On your desk," said the examiner, "you will find you test paper. Do not turn it over until I tell you to begin. There will be not talking, coping or cheating of any kind. Normal quills are to be used. You have one hour for your History Of Magic paper. Any confuring answers and your paper will be given a 'T'...you may begin...now," the examine turn over a large hour glass.

Immediately, Natalie turned over her paper and began to scribble frantically.

"Hey Sam," Holly said, "Have we bet before kiddo?"
She cocked her head to the side and held out her hand.

Natalie smiled at the two.

"In 10 minutes we'll be ready for the first people again....that's Patterson, Natalie...Roth, Shadow and Bristol, Holly!" said the examiner loudly over the rumpass.

Hayley bit her lip, "Oh no..." she said, "I'm gonna fail," she added, entering the hall.
She was very nervous.

Sam shook her head walking into the room for her exam. This was going to be hard, she could feel it in the amtmosphere. "No we haven't.." Sam told her "What's your name?" she asked casually, hoping it didn't sound childish.

"Ok...could I have Miss Patterson, Miss Bristol and Miss Roth please....you'll be with Miss Pollock this time, Miss Patterson," said the examiner, pointing to a young woman wearing a pointed purple hat.

Natalie whipped out her wand and walked to the examiner and waited for her instructions.

"Holly Bristol," Holly said loudly, as if announcing it to the world, "You?"
She actually turned to Sam to ask this.

Sam walked over to the person she was asigned to
"Miss Wyatt?" the examiner asked
"Yes.." Sam replied and sat donw on the chair.
"Now Miss. Wyatt, could you please cast a defensive spell for me?" he asked indacating towards the target.
"okay..." sam spluttered "Expelliarmus!" she said aloud, hoping that it would hit the target slap bang in the middle,
"thank you Miss. Wyatt..." the examiner told her scribbling on his notepad.

"Hi Sam," Hayley said, "I'm a friend of Holly's. The name's Hayley," she said.
She entered the Hall, twisting her wand in her hands.

Sam walked out of the room and ooked at Holly "Nice to met you Holly, my name's Sam, i take it your in next..." she asked pointing backwards

"Luck Bris," Hayleys said patting Holly on the back.
Hayley bit her lip again, and shivered, as she was up next.

"That's you," said the examiner, and the guided Holly into the hall by her shoulders.
"You'll be with Professor Bramble this time Bristol," said the examiner.

Meanwhile, Natalie mouth 'good luck' to Holly, and had begun her exam.

"Alright Natalie," said Miss Pollock in a kind voice, "I want you to go over there to that cupboard...inside is a boggard...and I want you to banish it."

NAtalie walked over to the cupboard, which swung open. A figure walked out a fell to the floor. Holly. Dead.

Natalie knew what to do.

"Riddikilus," she said calmly, and the boggart was turned into a balloon, getting bigger and bigger.

"Riddikilus," said Natalie again, waving her wand, and the balloon turned into a pumkin, which exploded with a squelch.

Natalie grinned, and the examiner clapped....

Natalie exited the hall grinning.
Her exam had went flawlessly.

Hayley grinend at Natalie, "Awesome!" she said, feeling slightly queasy at what her boggart had turned into.

Sam watched natalie
"good exam?" she asked eyeing her slightly cocky look

"Um...yeah," said Natalie, smiling.
She looked at Sam.
"Trust me...it's easy...you'll do fine," she assured.

"Am I next?" Hayley asked Natalie, clutching her robes.

"i've been in already, I was just wondering If you'd like to walk to rthe Great Hall with me.."

Hayley looked nervously at Holly, "IS it hard?" she asked, before being called in.
"Miss Parker," the examiner said, "Please tell me, out of these two creatures, which is a redcap, and which is a hinkypunk?"
Hayley frowned, looking at the two tanks. "Hinkypunk," she said, pointing to the left creature.
"Good," replied the examiner. "Now banish the bogart,"
Hayley sighed as a trunk opned, and out came her sister Daisy- she fell down dead.
Hayley gasped, and stared at the body for a few seconds before saying, "Ridikulus!" the body turned into a laughing, joking Daisy, falling about giggling. Hayley sighed with relief, and the examiner smiled too. "OKay Miss Parker, you may leave,"
Hayley grinned, and left the hall.

Natalie grinned at Hayley.
"Easy, isn't it?" she said, grinning at her.

"s'alright.." she told her
(lets go to game forum, *is bored*

"So whats up Sam dude?" Holly asked as they waited outside the great hall, "What house you in kiddo?"

Natalie looked at Sam, interested.
She smiled at Holly for bringing up the question.

"Yeah, it wasn't to hard," Hayley said, "Easier than I thought," she added, sighing.

Natalie smiled at Hayley.
Then she turned back to Sam and waited for the answer.

Everybody seemed to be ignoring Hayley today, so Holly thought she would join in.
"Im going to ignore you," she said to Hayley smiling, "What? I cant hear you cause im not listening?"
"HAHAH!" Riley laughed, "I like this game!"

Hayley raised her eyebrows, and folded her arms, "Thanks a lot best friend," she said. "Whatever,"

"Im not your best friend," Riley said simply patting her shoulder comfortingly, "Even though its obvious you have a HUUUUUGE crush on me."
He smiled to show he understood.

"i'm a ravenclaw," she said shyly she was surprised they wereactually talking to her "You three?" she asked still wishing she'd sink into the ground.

"Gryffindor's," said Natalie, smiling slightly.
She looked at Holly.
"Yeah....Riley's not your best friend....I mean, what's that about??"

Hayley shook her head at Riley, "I do not have a HUGE crush on you. I don't even have a LITTLE crush on you. In fact, I have some rather good news. Jake and I....are kinda getting back together I think," she bit her lip, "I know he cheated and all...but it's all good now," she added.

Natalie frowned.
"But Hayley....he's a big cheater..." she whined.

Shadow walked over to her friends again, rubbing her temples. She was getting a major headache from the stress of the exams.

Natalie put her arm around Shadow.
"You ok?" she asked her friend softly.

"Yeah, just a headache. It's normal when I get stressed." Shadow said, trying to smile softly.

Natalie smiled softly back.
"You'll be fine," she said reassuringly.

"Thanks Nat." Shadow said warmly.

"Anytime," said Natalie, smiling warmly back.
She conjured a chair.
"That's for you," she told Shadow.

"What would I do without you?" Shadow said gratefully, sitting down. She smiled up at her friends.

"Do you really want us to answer that Shad?" said Natalie, smiling slightly.
She conjured a chair for herself and began to revise for the next day.

"Could be interesting." Shadow said jokingly. She sighed, pulling a book out of her bag to try to revise as well.

Natalie looked over Shadow's shoulder?
"Need any help?" she asked doubtfully.

"No thanks, just trying to make sure that I can remember what I need to remember." Shadow said, looking up at Natalie. "Thanks for the offer anyway."

"Anytime..." said Natalie, smiling slightly.
She went back to revision.

Hayley sighed, taking a large book out of her bag, and conjuring another chair. "What exams do we have tomorrow Nat?" she asked, flicking through the book. "I couldn't be bothered revising, but I know I have to,"

Shadow buried her nose back into her book, trying to embed the knowledge into her memory for the next day.

"Transfiguration and Charms theory...Charms practical and Ancient Runes," said Natalie, having revised her timetable off by heart.

Hayley nodded, "Man...nerves...I hope I don't fail..."
She thumbed through pages, scribbled in never-ending notes she had written over the past few weeks. Goblin Wars...Bezoars...Love Potions...Hinkypunks...Incantations...
The words entered her brain, and left again- she wasn't concentrating hard enough. She sighed, and closed the book. "Man, I am stressed," she said, rubbing her forehead.

"You look it..." said Natalie, not looking up...but she could tell by Hayley's voice that she was indeed stressed.

Shadow sighed and summoned her potions kit, busily starting to make one that she knew off by heart, having needed to use it all too often for her liking. After a few minutes, she dipped a vial into the pale green liquid, filling it partially before handing it to Hayley.
"This will help with the stress, it calms all emotions." She said.

Natalie smiled at Shadow.
"Always prepared..." she muttered, grinning and shaking her head in amazement.

Hayley grinned thankfully, and took the vial. She drank the potion slowly, her shoulders sagging, and her face becomnig relaxed, "Wow," she said, "I do feel calmer," she smiled, "Thanks Shad," she said. She started to thumb slowly through the book again, concentrating more.
