FINAL House Quidditch : RAVENCLAW V SLYTHERIN: 12th-16th

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Upon awaking Anthony sat up in his bed, his feet dangling from the edge planted firmly on the floor. It was the day of the final game and already the anticipation grew inside him. It was sure to be a classic showdown, one that would have everyone talking for weeks to come. It wasn't nervousness that gripped him, it was excitement, the knowing that he would put all he had into this game and help his team achieve yet another victory, yet another cup. It felt so different this time than it did in his first game, though still in his rookie year Anthony now felt like a seasoned vet, thanks in most part to his teammates and captains. Deciding to spend the whole day down at the pitch and in the locker rooms to keep his focus from being drawn away Anthony slipped on a pair of old jeans and a t-shirt and shoes, and made his way towards the field.

Traversing the halls he would smile at those he passed along the way, nodding his head in acknowlegement to his friends and those that greeted him, he couldn't wait for the match to begin, but knew he had to prepare himself. He walked proudly, his head held high, his chest pushed outward displaying the Ravenclaw shield on his shirt with that same pride he showed in his movements. Finally stepping through the doors of the Entrance Hall he paused, taking in the sweet taste of the crisp morning air, the sun beaming down on him filling his body with warmth and confidence, it was a magnificent day indeed. Deciding not to waste anymore time he began his march towards the locker room, a sanctuary for what he personally dubbed his team, 'The Warriors of the Sky'. It was a bit cocky, but Ravenclaw quidditch had proven itself time and time again, and it was fitting.

It was not long before he had reached the door that lead him into his team's locker room and with no hesitation he entered and took in the familiar sight before him. The Blue and Bronze of his team's colors popping out vividly as the banners hung throughout the room, the matching robes that unified the team hanging neatly, freshly pressed and shining with greatness. A heavy breath followed as he entered, breathing in the air that filled this room, and his emerald eyes fell on yet another who had decided to make their way down early, none other than their captain Lily. No words would be spoken between them, only a firm nod on his part as he made his way to his locker and taking a seat in front of it. Reaching for his Blue and Black Firebolt Anthony would look it over admiringly, the dings and scratches it has suffered over the past clearly showing him that quidditch was indeed a sport he loved. The broom had been through much, as did he, but it was well worth it. He was proud to play for Ravenclaw, he was proud to be a Ravenclaw, its where he belonged.

The time for the game to begin drew closer, and with that Anthony began getting ready, opening his locker Anthony withdrew his Ravenclaw robes, he knew Slytherin would be prepared well but he never doubted that his team would be the victor come the end. Once he had draped the robes over his body and his leather gloves had been put on Anthony turned around his eyes taking in his teammates as they all bustled about getting ready. Reaching into his pocket and pulling out a blue strand or cloth he would place it on his forehead and tie it in a tight not around his head, the strands of his hair hanging over it making it barely visible, it was only to keep the sweat from dripping into his eyes anyway, it wasn't anything important. Once he was ready he took to a stand awaiting his team, leaning against his broom, watching and smiling as he looked around, he was then brought out of his state by the voice of their captain. She was motivating her team, like a general would do so with his troops before engaging in battle, a fitting speech. When it was over they began their march out onto the pitch, Lily decided to make a spectacle with fireworks and other things with her wand, quite the entrance, Anthony watched, determination written on his face. When it was over and they charged the field he took off at a run, his conditioning helping him along the way, the crowd's roar fueling his excitement, it was beautiful. Without stopping Anthony jumped high into the air, his athleticism displayed with the leap, his custom Firebolt in hand and placed between his legs, in the next instant he shot up into the sky in a blinding burst of speed. Circling the pitch as he sped around, he waved at all of his friends, pumping his fist as he passed them by. Pulling hard and coming to a stop Anthony hovered in mid-air in just front of the Hufflepuff section, nodding his head as if saying hello to all he spotted Jenn, a good friend of his, though a bit nagging sometimes. A smile ran the length of his lips at this thought and he waved frantically at her as he kept a careful watch on Madam Hooch, ready to attack when the quaflle had been released.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

After waving Anthony turned all his attention back onto the game, Madam Hooch was preparing to begin the match and at that moment everything around him went silent, the crowd seemed to hold its breath in anticipation, all he could hear was his very own heart beat echoing in his mind. His knuckles had turned white as he gripped the handle of is broom tightly, his focus honing in on every one of his skills. In a flash everything returned to normal, the crowd's cheers shaking the very air he was flying through. A quick shake of his head would send the loose strands of his blondish brown hair from obscuring his sight, in an instant he was off. The match had began. The quaffle, bludgers, and snitch had been released and Lily had already taken hold of the the crimson colored object, and to his astonishment a Slytherin Chaser had latched on as well. Neither of them seemed to give each other ground as they fought fervently for posession of the quaffle, it was amusing to watch, but also dangerous.

Just then over the madness that had ensued Anthony heard the voice of his captain, she was yelling for him to assist. Without waiting a moment longer he took off from the right side of the pitch spinning once and rocketing towards the two fighting Chasers. He had to get there quickly, before the Slytherin got hold of the quaffle or a bludger whacked his captain, that wasn't going to happen. Laying flat against his Firebolt, Anthony faded into it seamlessly, the colors of his robes matching the paint scheme of the wood perfectly, his eyes narrowed into slits as he pushed harder towards the two. The wind whipped against him violently, his robes snapping behind him as he shot through the sky. Getting closer and closer to Lily and the quaffle he released one hand from the handle as he pulled up rising just high enough to soar over the two Chasers. Anthony wasn't going to slow down, he would use his momentum to take the quaffle from them both ensuring that Ravenclaw and not Slytherin kept posession.

In a blur he swept upon them like a falcon diving for its prey, he positioned his body to where he would be hanging from his broom, one leg hooked over as the other dangled freely, one hand gripping tightly as the other stretched out to snatch the quaffle. Zooming overhead his hand wrapped around the red colored sphere perfectly as the momentum his speed brought tore it from both Lily's and the Slytherin Chaser's grasp. It was a dangerous maneuver but one that had to be done, Lily's orders. "I'll take that!" He shouted back at them as he secured the quaffle and repositioned himself on his Firebolt. With quaffle in hand Anthony pulled hard to the right once more and began his march down the pitch, heading straight for the Slytherin goals.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

With quaffle in hand Anthony shot down the pitch in a magnificent blur of Blue, Bronze, and Black. Never has he been this determined to win a quidditch match, it was what fueled his desire to see the Quidditch Cup once again come to its rightful home.With a quick look over his shoulder he saw that his captain Lily had regained control of her broom and send him the signal for the Ale Oop play! A grin slapped on his features when he saw this and made him concentrate all the more, it was a precision type of play, one miscalculation and it would be for nothing. He worried not however as he barrel rolled once to the left making sure to keep the Slytherin Beaters from getting a clear aim on him, he sure as heck didn't want to be mashed by a bludger so soon. Looking to his left he saw a clear line towards the goals and with that he pulled hard and zoomed straight down obstacle free for the time being. Being quidditch however his clear line quickly became crowded with players and bludgers. He couldn've swore he even saw the snitch but quickly deduced it was his imagination, given he was never trained as Seeker and didn't have the keen sight they did. It wasn't his responsibility anyway.

Finally reaching position Anthony pulled back hard to slow down dramatically. the sudden stop sent his body moving forword, "Bloody, Darwin's Law" he thought to himself with a small laugh. The jolt nearly caused him to flip forward and plunge to the earth below. Luckily his reflexes were shard and he was able to lock his legs together tightly. Glancing back once more he saw Lily speeding down the pitch getting herself ready for the play, but only this time she was pivoting towards him, not swerving out to where she should be, he had confidence in their skill however and with that he tossed the quaffle high into the air, gripping his Firebolt tight, and just at the right moment he spun around hard whacking the quaffle perfectly over the pitch to where Lily would hopefully be to complete their play.

Watching intently Anthony became oblivious to the bludger heading his way, it was only until he saw it in the corner of his eye that he reacted.... too late however. Just before he made to get clear of its path he was struck dead in the chest, the force sending him backwards broom and all. Had he not been holding so tightly he was sure he would have been finished. Once steadied he hunched over laying on his broom, on hand cluching his chest, the blue and bronze material bunching up in his fist. It was hard to breath, and every breath became difficult to bear. Mentally berating himself Anthony had no choice but to push the pain aside and play through it, his team needed him. His eyes returned to Lily as he watched her fly gracefully readying herself to catch the quaffle.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Anthony watched carefully, gritting his teeth as the pain from the bludger hit coursed through his body, a sigh of relief rushed over him however when he saw that Lily had made it to where he had hit the quaffle. She gave a powerful smash to the object sending it straight toward the right goal post, the Slytherin Keeper could not react in time as the crimson globe went straight through. A score for Ravenclaw! In that moment he had forgotten about the pain and thrusted his hand high into the air in celebration, but it was short lived as the agonizing pain reminded him of just moments earlier. Hunching back over his Firebolt Anthony tried to catch his breath, he could not, he would not allow this injury to keep him from playing, regardless of the pain.

Feeling a hand on his shoulder Anthony looked up to see that Lily had rushed over to his side, worry stricken as she looked him over, he forced a smile through the pain as he tightened his grip on the handle of his broom. "I'm alright, it's gonna take more than that to do me in love." He grinned while flashing a wink over her way, he expected pain playing in a game of this nature, it was part of why he loved it. "Lets get back to it shall we? For Ravenclaw!" He shouted, and sped off back down the pitch ready to retrieve the quaffle. Ignoring the pain Anthony kept his focus on one thing and one thing only, victory.

{Ravenclaw Seeker}

Rigby quietly walked into the locker room, quite a departure from her usual loud and hurried entrance. This was the last game of the season, something that filled her with both excitement and dread. How quickly the terms flew by!!

The locker room still echoed with the ring of Lily's pre-game speech, and Rigby shivered in anticipation. If only every game could be this intense! She remembered back to the day that Lily had picked her to be seeker, seeing something in her that she didn't even know existed. Today was the day she could pay back Lily's faith in her, and prove once and for all that the Ravenclaw were the best team out there!

Her feelings might be a bit of a mess, but her body was whole and completely recovered from the last game against Hufflepuff. Madame Pomfrey had hooked her up with her very best potions and salves. And this time Rigby would have a special weapon hidden in her robes. She was going old school and muggle- she had a tub of the very best Ben-Gay ointment money could buy. She had also taped some bandages to her right and left calves (balance was very important on a broom). She was a walking first aid kit, but none of the items were banned, so at least she wouldn't have to rip up her robes to make tourniquets this time.

Rigby opened her locker and caught her reflection in the small mirror that hung there. She had magically altered her hair color to be a dark inky blue. She know resembled a comic book heroine, but she loved it. Rigby gave her best Lois Lane impersonation to the mirror and grabbed her broomstick. The excitement of the upcoming game was beginning to take over, overshadowing the sorrow of the last game blues. How could the season end any better than with a grueling game with Slytherin? Someone up there must like her. Rigby grinned, this would be no gimme game. Ravenclaw would have to fly faster, score more, and beat their opponents bloody with bludgers in order to win. Rigby just had to stay alive and catch the snitch, although against the Slytherins that would be no easy feat.

Pulling her up and away from her face, Rigby was ready to rock and roll. She had spent the whole week practising, and the moment had come to put all the new and old moves to the test. She began to run down the tunnel, getting her heart rate up, finally jumping on her broom and shooting out onto the pitch like a shooting star. The crowd turn out was unbelievable, and the cheers were nearly deafening. Banners of blue and green were everywhere, and most Ravenclaws were holding up cans of Vanilla Coke, the official soda of Ravenclaw Quidditch. Eyes twinkling, Rigby flew past the fans, smiling her appreciation. This would surely be a game for the record books!

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Zooming back down the pitch Anthony's emerald eyes darted back and forth taking in the action around him. He heard the faint shouts of his captain through the wind and the crowd's thundering, it spurred him on. The adrenaline had subsided the pain he was in for now, but he knew once the match was over that wouldn't be the case, however he forced those thoughts to the side, nothing was gonna distract him and his team. "Come on Ravens!" He shouted, he wasn't the captain but he was a part of the team, he would cheer his teammates on regardless. He kept an eye on the Slytherin Chasers, they would tell him when the quaffle would be released, and once he saw them make their move he would as well, a clever tactic he had learned over his short time as a quidditch player, it gave him the ability to watch for other things as well, not just the quaffle.

That point was made as he saw Seeker extraordinaire, Rigby make her way out onto the pitch, it was glorious. "Bout time you showed up!" He shouted down at her playfully, he was in a particular mischevious mood this day and he nodded his head toward befor pulling up on his Firebolt becoming completely vertical and soaring upwards high above the action. Leveling out Anthony sat perched for the time being, looking down on the chaos unfolding beneath his emerald gaze, like an eagle watching his prey, timing his attack perfectly. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the setting suns rays gleam off of the red colored sphere. That was his cue, tightening the straps of his worn leather gloves Anthony placed his hands around the handle of his broom tightly, his fingers wrapping around it as if it were a part of his own body. Leaning forward he tilted his Firebolt forward, heading straight down into a nose dive. Entering into a tight spiral as well to confuse any Slytherins that may see him, it was a move he liked to call, 'The Spin Cycle.' Straight down he sped, spinning so wildly he could feel his blood swishing around in his veins, his target, the quaffle.

{Ravenclaw Seeker}

Rigby watched with admiration as Lily and Anthony began flawlessly executing Ravenclaw's first big move. The fireworks that Lily had ignited were still setting the sky ablaze with light. Light or no light, Rigby was prepared for a night game. Darkness could not hide the shining snitch from her sharp eyes, and her intense need to catch it. This was the biggest game she had ever played in, and already the green robes of the Slytherin players crowded the pitch.

The crowd was excited, and the energy that rose off them surrounded the pitch. Everyone was playing better because of it, Rigby fed off it greedily, knowing that she would need extra reserves of strength for this game. Slytherin was playing to win, and with Raisty as beater there was little chance of remaining unscathed during the game. Ravenclaws loved a challenge, and looking around at her teammates, Rigby could see they were up for anything Slytherin brought to the field.

Rigby narrowed her eyes, scanning the night skies for the snitch. She glanced now and then to see how the rest of her team was doing, and watched out for incoming bludgers, which were flying with particular ferocity tonight. She sat up straight as she saw Anthony approach the Slytherin, unaware that she had been sitting in a predatory crouch before.

Go, Anthony!, her mind screamed. Not wanted to distract him, she kept sillent. She flashed her eyes to Lily, whose face was intense and proud, and Rigby felt the thrill that comes to belonging to such a well organized and highly skilled team. Rigby re-directed her broom, now searching for the snitch in an area where she could catch Ravenclaw's first score on the game. At the last moment, the play going by in a blur, Lily knocked the quaffle in the hoops! Rigby let out a loud Ravenclaw cry, thrilled at surprise move.

"Bout time you showed up!" she heard Anthony shout and she turned to bestow him a huge grin. She was so pleased with her team she felt close to bursting. Anthony was already on to his next move, and Rigby flew after him. Catching the snitch alone would not be enough, Ravenclaw needed to rack up the goals, so Rigby would play blocker for Anthony on this move.

{Ravenclaw Seeker}
Rigby flew close to the spinning Anthony, determined to keep him from flying bludgers. The air rushed over her, and whipping her hair and frenzy. It was hard keeping up with Anthony, but her broom was up to the challenge. Keeping one eye out for bludgers she also sought out Elana. For this move to work they would need their best beater, and Elana was certainly that. Finally she spotted her, in exactly the right location. Rigby smiled inwardly, why had she ever doubted? Of course Elana would be in postion.
She caught Elana's eye and jerked her chin up, signaling the next move. Elana understood immedialty, and the play was on! Slytherin wouldn't know what hit them.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

He descended upon the quaffle with fury burning in his emerald gaze, determination etching itself across his features. The tight spiral continuing as he dove straight down heading right into a group of Slytherin Chasers as they closed in on the quaffle. He was sure if they noticed his missle like approach and quite frankly he didn't care, he wanted to win and would do was was necessary to help his team achieve this. Diving straight down Anthony kept his eye on the quaffle as he flew straight for the opponet Chasers. Himself and the crimson sphere drawing closer Anthony pushed his Firebolt faster, making sure he would meet the quaffle just before it reached the sticky hands of those Slytherins.

The quaffle flew towards the group and just as it was about to get into their reach Anthony zoomed down snatched the orb and dove straight through the group of Slytherins, quaffle in his posession. Pulling up hard Anthony just barely leveled out before slamming into the ground. A sigh of relief followed and he tightened his grip on the ball. 'That was too close' he told himself mentally while adjusting his hold on his broom. With that he took off, heading straight for the stands! Was it madness? Nay, it was a daring move, as he approched the wooden seating area he quickly pulled up becoming parallel to them, it looked as if he was running up the sides of it. Straight up he flew until he shot through the madness of the players like a rocket. "Fly Ravens fly!" He shouted to his teammates as he leveled out heading straight for the Slytherin goals.

{Ravenclaw Seeker}
Suddenly Rigby broke off from Anthony, flying furiously towards what could only be the snitch. The Slytherin seeker seemed to notice and give chase, making Rigby grin. The beauty of this play is that one could never be sure when the actual snitch was spotted, and when it was being faked.

Behind her Anthony was flying towards Lily and Rigby just hoped their dangerous move was successful. Of course, successful for this move was just completing it without death or serious injury, but if anyone could pull it off it was Anthony and Lily.

On and on she led the seeker, being careful not to let them get to close. She zig zagged wildly, never slowing down, never allowing the seeker to catch up. Glancing up she saw Elana racing into place.

{Ravenclaw Seeker}

Rigby knew the time had come. She closed her eyes breifly, picturing the play in her mind, pictured herself executing it perfectly. The roar of the crowd seed to die away and when Elana smacked the bludger it echoed like thunder in Rigby's ears.

She waited.

One second. Too soon still.

Two seconds, almost there.

Three, and Rigby pulled up hard, leaving the Slytherin seeker to the oncoming attack of Elana's bludger.

The sound of flesh meeting bludger never ceased to make her wince, unless it was her own body under attack, in which case she was usually in too much pain to be thinking much of anything. She flew away fast, wanted to be far away from the anticpated damage.

(Ravenclaw Beater)

Stephy placed her hand upon the door of the Ravenclaw Locker Room and pushed it open. Standing at the entranceway, she looked around at her fellow teammates.They all had a confident look on their faces that showed that they where going to win the cup.She could also hear Lily's speach filled the whole room. Stephy gave them a weak smile and made her way to the other side of the room. This was the second match that she had played in this season and she was going to be the team’s beater. Playing this role meant that her whole team was going to be relying on her a lot to try to keep that Bludgers away from them. With this on her mind Stephy started to feel butterflies flutter around in her stomach. I can do it, Stephy thought as she stood before her locker, I have to do it. They need me to protect them from the Bludgers and to knock as many Slytherin’s off of their brooms as possible.

Stephy smiled as he pulled open her locker’s door but then she heard a loud bang. Looking she saw that she had opened her locker with so much force that it hit the one beside it leaving a huge dent there. Taking more care now, Stephy reached into the locker and pulled out her robes, bat and broom placing them on the bench in the middle of the aisle. Stephy quickly changed out of her black Hogwarts robes and switched into her new, blue Qudditch robes. Once they where on she rotated her arms around in wide circles to make sure that her robes would not prevent her from hitting the Bludgers so hard. Satisfied with the way they fit, Stephy then picked up her gloves. She slipped them on and lifting up her bat, she made sure that would be able to maintain a tight grip on it with her gloves on. Returning back to her things she pulled out a blue hair tie and pulled her short blondish brown hair back into a pony tail. She would have to keep an eye out for the Bludgers that would be flying around trying to knock her fellow Ravens off of their brooms. She couldn’t risk letting her hair get in her face reducing her visibility.

Looking up she saw that the other team players where all already going out to the pitch. Gathering her Beater’s bat and her slick Firebolt she ran towards the exit eager to start the match. She slammed her weight against the door and with all of her excitement and nerves she lost balance and fell to the ground. Face turning red, she hastily got to her feet and paced her way to the center of the field as she heard the bystanders and possibly the opposing team laughing at her. Looking up she saw Lily's handy spell and Stephy just had to smile at the sight of it.

Once she was in the middle of the pitch, Stephy swung her leg over her brand new broom and kicked hard off of the ground, rising several feet higher than she expected. Once she leveled off she looked around at the crowd who was cheering and jumping around with excitement. At this sight of her being cheered for, the butterflies in her stomach started to slow down their fluttering and then disappeared. She then grew more confident because she knew after all that they where going to win the game.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Anthony was proud of his manuever that landed him in control of the quaffle, it was indeed a dangerous and risky move but one he took the chance in doing nonetheless. Ravenclaw quidditch was at its best and it would continue to be this way until the end of the match, if any of his teammates slacked he would personally motivate them. It was this kind of play that brought the honor to the team, working off of each other, focusing until the very end. Making sure he had the quaffle secured tightly Anthony made no hesitation in speeding like a bullet down the pitch, alternating his position up and down and side to side. He wanted to make it as difficult as possible for the Slytherin Beaters to get a line on him. Being hit with a bludger is not something he relished nor was it something he wanted, obviously.

Catching himself from drifting too far into his thoughts Anthony forced his mind back to the moment at hand, his speed had gained considerably and he was lucky his momentary lapse didn't cost him another bludger hit. Leaning flat once more and melding into his broom Anthony sped even faster, his Firebolt shaking in his grip from the speed, it was pushed to it's very limits. A quick glance over his shoulder and his eyes fell upon Lily, tailing him closely, matching him move for move. She then dipped low and flew underneath him upside down! He couldn't help but smile at this daring new move and raced forward. He would barrel roll to the left at break neck speed barely missing a collison with one of the Slytherin Beaters, the downforce of his movement keeping his body pressed firmly to his broom. If he were to sit up he would be thrown off with a vicious force, he wasn't gonna allow that to happen. His eyes narrowed into slits once more, his face expressionless save the small sparkle in his eye from soaring through the air at relentless speeds. With his captain flying beneath him Anthony brought the quaffle out and dropped it down towards Lily. "Bombs away!" He shouted as he pulled hard and came to a stop hoping she would catch the sphere and continue the march.

(Ravenclaw Beater)
Stephy at perched on her broom searching the skies for any Bludgers that might try to cause harm to her fellow teammates. She quickly spotted the two Chasers pulling off the difficult and dangerous move called the Shadow. Stephy knew that they would both be able to pull it off, they where after all one of the best Chasers she ever met. After watching them for a while Stephy decided that she might push her luck, looking at one spot for too long might cause her other teammates to be in danger. Scanning the skies once again she quickly saw a Bludger flying in the air right towards --- Rigby!!! She wasn’t turning around nor was she trying to dodge it, Rigby must not know its after her Stephy thought as she flattened herself against her broom. Stephy didn’t pay attention to anything around her she was too focused on getting to Rigby before the Bludger did.

“RIGBY WATCH OUT BEHIND YOU!!!!!” Stephy shouted at the top of her lungs as she sat up on her broom, finally having caught up to the Bludger. Stephy saw that Rigby had frozen but she knew that she would be able to save her from the tiny black ball. She darted right in front of Rigby and got ready to hit the ball.

{Ravenclaw Seeker}

Rigby flew through the air, a blue blur, weaving in and out of her fellow teammates effortlesslly. She still hadn't caught sight of the snitch, but she was hopeful. The cheers of the crowd were giving her a permanent high, heighting and sharpening her senses. She wanted so badly just to catch sight of the snitch! She caught a glimpse of Lily and Anthony out of the corner of her eye. The Shadow play was so dangerous, but it made for compelling game play. She had to force herself not to watch, and instead try to track down her fluttering gold beauty.

All at once two things happened. She could hear a shouting- wait was that Stephy? And on top of Stephy's voice she could hear the distinctive whirr of the deadly bludger. Rigby turned to find the source of the sound and realized the bludger was almost upon her. Gasping, she froze up. Etta and her golden bat had done much damage to her in the last game. She started to move when a blue blur flew in front of her.

(Ravenclaw Beater)
Stephy gripped her bat with both of her arms. She wanted to send a fast one at the Slytherin’s Chaser so that she wouldn’t see it coming. She swung back her both of her arms and swung as hard as she could; making sure that she was facing one of the opposing Chasers. She heard a sickening crack fill the air as the Bludger soared through the air towards the unsuspecting Sytherin. Looking around she saw that she was inches in front of Rigby, the color had drained form her face.

“Whoa was that one close. I thought that one was going to get you there for a moment. It’s okay Rigby. I saved you from harms way” Stephy joked as Rigby threw her arms on her giving her a huge hug. “Oh, it was nothing that what I’m here for” Stephy said flying off to make sure that her other teammates where ok.

{Ravenclaw Seeker}

The air whooshed out of Rigby's chest and she threw herself at Stephy. She hugged the Ravenclaw beater that had saved her from yet another bludger attack.

"Stephy, you are my hero!"

"Whoa was that one close. I thought that one was going to get you there for a moment. It’s okay Rigby. I saved you from harms way. Oh, it was nothing that what I’m here for!" said Stephy reassuringly.

Her broom started to slip so Rigby quickly grabbed a hold of it, embarressed. She was supposed to be a fearless seeker, and now she knew she had to get it together. She needed to trust her beaters to keep her safe, and to take any hits without flinching. If the Slytherins detected weakness in her they would pounce.

Rigby sat up straighter, willing the color in her cheeks to go away. There was still a lot of work to be done, and the snitch was not going to catch itself! She smiled her thanks again at Stepy, and turned to fly away.
She slipped easily once more into seeker mode, her broom and her body melding into one. She sliced easily throught the air, and this time when she heard a bluger making it's way to her she veered quickly to the left. The bludger kissed the air at the back of her head, but did not hit her. Confidence surged through her body and she was ready to take on the world again!

(Ravenclaw Beater)

After one of her teammates where almost hit by a Bludger, Stephy knew she was going to have to keep a better eye out for her teammates. Flying back up high in the sky, she looked down towards her and saw straight away that Lily was in danger of getting hit by a Bludger that was feet away from her. She pointed her broom straight down and leaned forward, gathering more speed than she was used to. Holding up her bat, Stephy felt her fingers on her other hand slowly start to slip off of the broom’s handle. Not now Stephy thought as she pulled out of the dive and shot after Lily.

Looking she saw that Anthony was right above her. Well I guess I’m going to have to hit the Bludger towards the ground she thought quickly as she got beside the black ball. She could hear it whistle as it speeds through the air, following Lily’s every move. She watched as the Bludger took a huge arc and headed towards Lily, coming in for the kill. Stephy flattened herself against her broom hoping that she would get to Lily before the ball did. She was now right on top of it; she held her bat above her head and swung down as hard as she could, still laying on the handle of her broom.

She heard a loud crack and looking down she saw the Bludger soar towards the ground where it bounced a few times against the hard ground, leaving craters where it hit before returning to the skies. Satisfied Stephy sat back up on her broom and resumed her position above the Chasers.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

The sudden stop caused his body to thrash forward making him lose his balance for a moment. Quickly regaining his composure Anthony turned his focus back to Lily, she had nabbed the quaffle with a brilliant new move, always innovative, thats what he loved about his team. As he watched her sped on down the pitch he kept his ears open for any sign of a Slytherin attempt at removing him from the game, but his eyes remained on his captain, who had thown the quaffle back up for him to catch. In an instant he took off, a few bristles of his broom dislodged and fluttered in his wake, he quickle gained his speed, racing hard and fast towards his target. As he flew by he stretched out a hand and snatched the quaffle from mid-air, and in a blaze of glory kept his angle heading straight for the Slytherin Keeper.

Closing in fast Anthony dipped down lower and in a wide sweep crossed the field from the left side of the pitch to the right, still heading straight for the opposing team's goals. As the Keeper matched his movement Anthony had to think and act quickly. And in a moment of inspiration he dipped back into the center of the pitch, pulled up on his broom raising his altitude to where he was now above the goals. Without missing a beat he angled downward straight for the Keeper, and in the last minute heaved the quaffle for the center hoop with all his might using his momentum to power the throw. Veering to the left at the last minute he slipped through the left and center goals barely, and pulled hard on his broom coming to a stop inches from the wall.

{Ravenclaw Seeker}

Rigby flew past the crowd, catching a whiff of cinnamon roasted pecans. Hmmm, yummy, she thought. She dipped her broom lower and took a handful out of a awestruck first years bag. Popping the sugar coated yummness in her mouth, she took off again.

Hopefully the sugar rush would bring her in the direct path of the snitch, but so far no luck. She heard a loud thud and several screams coming from the stands. Turning back to that crowd Rigby was able to catch the aftermath of some overeager Ravenclaw's flawed attmept to make a human pyramid. Laughing, Rigby almost missed the golden blur that buzzed in her periphial vision.

Rigby turner her head and the snitch seem to pause, quivering in the air. In one fluid movement she and the snitch moved together. The snitch took off, Rigby right on it's tale. She passed a bludger-hitting-happy Stephy, who was whacking bludgers with great glee towards anything in a green robe.

The snitch fell threw the air, Rigby fell with it. It zoomed up again in a spiral and Rigby spiraled up along with it. The snitch could tease her all night long, but in the end the last thing it would feel would be her gloved hands closing over it.

(Ravenclaw Beater)
Stephy scanned the skies looking for one of the two Bludgers so that she could send one at the Slytherin’s Seeker. After a few minutes of looking she quickly saw one zooming right towards her. She positioned herself so that when it came towards her it would fly past her right side. Just as it was about to hit her, Stephy gripped the bat tightly with both hands swung as hard as she could. She watched as the ball soared towards the moonand then come back down where it had sneaked up behind their Seeker. Smiling at her handy work Stephy flew down to the ground to see how big of an indent that last Bludger made in the ground.

Checking that no one was in the path of the deathly balls, Stephy dived on down to the ground and pulled up so that she was close enough to the ground to see the effect the Bludger had on the ground. She saw that the hole was as big as the black ball itself but the indention was about four or five inches into the ground. Owww, that one would have hurt she thought as she soared back up to her spot in the sky.

{Ravenclaw Seeker}


Ding! The familiar sound of a Ravenclaw goal filled Rigby's ears, and she shouted a congratulations to Anthony as she went zooming by him, still intent in her pursuit of the snitch.

The snitch drew close to the slytherin stands and Rigby followed. Her shoulder clipped the stands and she winced, slowed down by a fraction of a second. It was enough time for the snitch to jump ahead. Thankfully the snitch pulled away from the Slytherin cheering section, In Quidditch it's never a good idea to get to close to your opponents supporters, as a ravid fan can cause more injury than a rogue bludger.

Rigby shot away from the crowd, trying to catch up with wily golden devil ball. The wind was picking up yet again, pushing against her, slowing her down even more. Gritting her teeth, Rigby pushed back. She would not be parted from the snitch without a battle!

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

The signal that told him he had scored sent excitement throughout his thoughts, but Anthony did not celebrate, he had to keep his head in the game. The near miss of him crashing into the stands cause him to breath a heavy sigh of relief, there had been way too many close calls so early in the game, but it energized him all the more. He then felt a sharp pain in his chest from the earlier bludger hit, it was ferocious and he hunched over fighting to push it aside. Once he had done so Anthony whipped around quickly and shot off to get into position once more. He locked his legs together at the ankles whilst both hands gripped firmly to the wooden handle. His desire to win building within his thoughts by the second. Barrel rolling as he zoomed down the pitch he made sure to take in where his teammates were on the field, it was one of the keys to victory.

Finally approaching the middle of the pitch Anthony came to an easy stop and hovered as he awaited his oppurtunity to make for the quaffle. Rolling his shoulders to stretch out the muscles that began to tighten up he moved his head as well, stretching the muscles in his neck too. Just as he placed his hands back onto his Firebolt he heard the familiar buzzing of a bludger, this time he caught sight of it in time to react, but he had to do so quickly. His emerald gaze widened as it flew at him with haste, he couldn't fly off there would be no time for that. Holding tightly Anthony jerked his body to the right rolling him and his broom over until he hovered there dangling upside down. Just as he did so the bludger soared overhead and grazed the sole of his shoe. The force nearly dislodging his foot from the tight grip he had with it. Another sigh of relief swept over him as he gathered himself and returned to a normal position.

Every second that passed reminded him of how dangerous this sport was, but it was those like himself that he was honored to play for and against. Hovering once more all he could do was wait.

(Slytherin Keeper)

Gemma woke up with a start, knowing that there was something she'd forgotten about. But what was it again? She looked at her alarm clock - hadn't she sat the alarm for some reason? She stood up and looked out of the window, but the grounds seemed to be totally empty. And then it hit her: the Quidditch game! Speeding around the room to throw on her Quidditch gear and grab her new broom, a StarySky 1.5, Gemma cursed herself for forgetting about the game when she'd been told that she was needed.

She broke into a run on her way to the pitch, reaching the fields just in time to see one of the Ravenclaw Chasers dangle upside down to avoid a bludger. Searching the sky, she didn't see much of her team. This sure wasn't a good sign for the final match, but right now there was nothing she could do, so Gemma hopped onto her broom and zoomed upwards to her place in front of the goal hoops, considering the amount of points the opposing team might already have scored without her being there. This was going to be one hard game, she knew. But now she shouln't spend time thinking about it but rather get into it.

Preparing for an attack at any time, she began flying from left to right in front of the hoops, always keeping her eye on the quaffle and the chasers. She had to change the way the game went, but how? After all, there wasn't much of a chance to do so on her own...

{Ravenclaw Seeker}

Rigby flew past an entering Cat. Normally she would have been quite happy to see the Slytherin, but not when she was carrying her heavy bat. Rigby sent up a quick prayer for the safety of her bones and for the bones of everyone on the Ravenclaw team, especially Anthony who seemed to attract bludgers like he was their mothership and they were coming home. Gemma had also taken over as keeper, which of course would affect the Ravenclaw goal machine.

The snitch now had a good size lead on her, and despite every effort Rigby could not make up the loss distance. She narrowed her eyes, crouching low on her broom, streamlining herself as much as possible. The broom picked up speed, but so did the snitch. Rigby had a feeling that the snitch knew what an important game this would be and was not eager to be caught.

(Slytherin Keeper)

Relieved that Cat had come in time to save her from the bludger, Gemma continued circulating quite frustrated in front of the hoops, waiting for an attack so she could do anything at all while wishing that some of her team members might arrive. From the corner of her eye, she watched Rigby chase the snitch, quite happy that the small ball fluttered from the Seeker at high enough speed. Bored for a moment, Gemma decided to think of some moves that would save her from failing for the next few scoring tries of the opposing team. Why had nobody ever invented some way to accio humans?

(Slytherin Keeper)

Noticing no dangerous actions from the Ravenclaw Chasers at the moment, Gemma looked around a little to see what the rest of their team was doing. A beater was flying fast in order to rescue one of her team's chasers, and unluckily she got there in time, now sending the bludger into Cat's direction. Gemma tried to catch her attention to warn her of the danger, but she wasn't sure whether it worked. "Cat, watch out for Merlin's sake!"

{Ravenclaw Seeker}

Rigby was getting closer now, the snitch was still toying with her, but she was definately drawing nearer. All around her bludgers were flying and bats were cracking. Her right hand tingled with anticipation of catching the snitch. The night air cooly swept over her, the wind was dying down. Still she pushed her broom faster, the gap between seeker and snitch growing smaller and smaller.

Insane speeds and a crowded pitch were not ideally suited to most people, but Rigby was in her element. She laughed out loud, her excitement overflowing. Catch the snitch, Rigby my girl, she told herself, and in a few minutes you can be celebrating in the common room over pumpkin juice and treacle tart.

Sadly Rigby's euphoria wasn't going to last long. The snitch made a sudden cut to the right and Rigby swerved violently with it. But it was blind turn and and she was flying into the unknown...

(Ravenclaw Beater)
Stephy stared at the ground and saw that there where more students coming onto the field and they where both dressed in green. Finally some competition Stephy thought as she looked at her teammates and saw that Cat had sent a Bludger right at Anthony. Stephy felt her heart start to race as she pointed her broom towards the ground, putting herself into a steep dive. When she was just about level with Anthony she pulled her broom up and stooped forward on her broom, gaining speed as she neared the Bludger. There’s no way I’m going to get to it in time Stephy thought as she watched the black ball close in on Anthony. She knew that if she was going to protect him from the ball there was only one thing left for her to do. She threw back her arm and in a wide arc she threw her beater’s bat at the Bludger just as it was about it hit Anthony. She watched as the bat made a loud crack and saw to her amazement that the Bludger had bounced off of it and passed inches by Anthony’s head.

Stephy quickly plummeted to Earth so to grab her bat. Just as she was about to hit the ground she pulled out of a steep dive and caught her bat inches before it touched the ground. That was so cool She thought to herself as she flew back up towards the sky to see how the others where doing.

{Ravenclaw Seeker}

The unknown being Madame Hooch. Rigby smacked into her so hard that her teeth actually rattled, something she had not known could really happen. Needless to say the snitch was gone, and the only thing left in it's place was the icy glare of Madame Hooch.

"Hah, sorry, didn't see you flying there! Good job, you know, so far. On the game, I mean. Oh gosh! Was that dent there before..." Madame Hooch silenced Rigby's ramblings with a stern look. Meekly, Rigby turned and flew away.

She caught up with the gameplay just in time to see Stephy save Anthony from a bludger and then make a truly spectacular save of her bat. The move was so quick and nimble that Rigby pondered the idea of training Stephy in the art of seeker.

"Woot! Stephy! Way to go Ravenclaw!!" she cried, beaming at the Ravenclaw beater.

(Ravenclaw Beater)
Once back at her original spot Stephy looked around and saw that Rigby had collided with Madame Hooch. Laughing Stephy flew around the pitch and quickly spotted the second Bludger. She flew right over towards it and swung back her bat, making sure that it would head for Cat. A loud crack filled the air and she watched as she ball rushed over to Cat.

Watching it Stephy saw that she was right on target and she hoped that Cat would not notice it creeping up behind her. [i]That’s what you get for trying to knock out our Chasers [i]Stephy thought as she flew down towards the ground, now taking a different spot on the pitch in case Cat looked to see who sent it at her.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Anthony hovered in place keepin a keen look out for the quaffle, having just narrowly escaped another bludger hit his heart raced furiously. As his eyes darted around the pitch ferverntly looking for any sign of the red glint he noticed that two Slytherins had made their way onto the field. Cat and Gemma, a grin ran the length of his lips as he watched as the two took to their places respectively, it wouldn't be long before the rest of the competition showed up. There! just a few feet in front of him he spotted the quaffle, and no one had their sights for it, but that was about to change. Just before he was about to take off in a burst of speek Anthony heard a loud whack just feet above his head. Turning his attention to the source of the noise he saw Stephy had thrown her bat and knocked yet another bludger off it's course. A sigh of relief rushed over him as he gave a thankful thumbs up towards his beater and sped off to chase down the quaffle.

Bobbing and weaving through the ever growing traffic of the pitch Anthony made a bee line towards his target. Closing in on it in a matter of seconds he would pull hard to the left turning his direction towards the Slytherin end of the pitch. In one fluid motion as he glided sideways in mid-air he stuck out his hand scooping up the quaffle. With the object secured in his grasp Anthony took off after coming to a shaky stop from his previous manuever. Noticing Stephy with bludger in hand he would signaled her to begin their play. As she took flight speeding in front of him as they both made their way straight towards the Keeper Gemma. His grin grew even wider as he laid as flat as he could against his Firebolt. His eyes kept straight ahead on his teamate who had in her posession a bludger. They both flew ever so gracefully down the pitch, Anthony's fingers readjusting their hold on the quaffle as they did so.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)
All of a sudden, Stephy heard a whistling sound right behind her. Turning around she saw a Bludger heading straight for her. Trying to remain calm Stephy knew she had to perform the Sloth Grip move in order to avoid the Bludger’s deadly blow. She grabbed her broom tightly with her right hand and swung so that she could hang off of the side of her broom. Stephy also made sure that her right foot did not slip off the handle either as both her left hand and foot dangle in the air and the Bludger flew past her, missing her broom by inches.

Sighing with relief she hopped back on her broom and chased down the Bludger. Looking towards the Slytherin's goal posts she saw Anthony signing her to so something. Then it hit her, he wanted her to get in front of him and aim the Bludger at the Keeper leaving the area open for him to score.

She hit the Bludger, not with too much force, towards Anthony so that it would be several feet in front of him. Stephy planned to go after the Bludger and hit it again but towards the Keeper. Then she would get out of the way leaving Anthony an open shot to score. She then flattened herself against her broom and headed in front of him. Swinging her arm back as far as it would go, Stephy hit the Bludger with all her might and hearing a loud Crack she knew it would hi its target. She then pulled out of the way t let Anthony score

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

As he sped along, Stephy leading him down the pitch he couldn't help but feel a sharp pain shoot through his chest from the earlier bludger hit. Gritting his teeth trying to fight through it Anthony saw that he had slowed down considerably. Stephy had gained a sizable lead on him. Shaking it off he pushed his broom hard, the pain growing but he ignored it. He finally gained a bit of ground but still was a few feet away from his teammate. Through squinted eyes caused by the massive pain he was going through at the moment and also the determination he put forth to push it away, he watched as Stephy smashed the bludger straight at Gemma. With that he put all thoughts to the side save for scoring and pushed the Firebolt to its limits. The night air seemed to cut through his robes as he felt the cool sting on his skin as he rocketed toward the goals.

His eyes widened as he saw the bludger slam into the Keeper with fierce authority, she had cleared his way for the score. He couldn't help but shout out in excitement, "Way to go Stephy! Great shot!" His mind was pulled from the pain for the time being as he closed in on the three hoops Gemma had been protecting. Zooming along he positioned his hand around the quaffle preparing to shoot, using his speed he jerked the handle hard to the right which caused his movement to spin around and around. Like a Cyclone he edged closer to the goals, with his hand underneath the quaffle he heaved it hard, using all his strength and the momentum his spinning to power his shot. Once it was released he placed both hands back onto his Firebolt and steadied himself, his eyes watching the red sphere soar towards the center hoop. Anticipation grew as he followed it closely with his gaze, he continued to watch as it dinged off the side of the hoop and went through. Another score for Ravenclaw! Breathing heavily as the pain slowly decided to subside Anthony wasted no time in making preparations to attack once more.

(Ravenclaw Keeper)

Holly ran down towards the pitch, cursing herself for being late for the most important game of the year. It had been a long while since she'd been back in the sport, but she'd manage. Quidittch always got her worked up. She stopped, looking up at the pitch and watching with a huge smile as Anthony scored a goal against their opponent. Pumping her fist in the air, she did a small jig in triumph. This game was theirs.

Holly fixed her hair up into a ponytail, swung her leg over her trusty broom and sped into the air. She let herself relax against the wind as she circled around the pitch, warming up.

"Sorry, I'm late!" she called to her teammates.

She zoomed off towards her position and hovered protectively in front of the Ravenclaw goals ready to defend.
