10 years later. Shadow and Jamies house.

Jamie ran down the stairs in a hurry, pulling on his sweater.
"hey..." he said to the person sitting on the stool in the kitchen...

Violet glared but said, "She is still sleeping."

Jamie walked in from a long days working a plan for the white lighters,
"hey whats up?" he asked

Shadow turned away from Violet, heading back outside. She sat on the grass, staring up at the sky again.

"Where have you been?" Violet asked, turning on Jamie. "Your wife has a big descion and you havent been her!" Violet yelled. "You and her sit." She said, walking to the door.

Jamie sat down fast,
"whats wrong?" he asked her

Shadow lay back, listening to the stars.

"That....thing she calls a sister." Violet said, tears springing back to her eyes. "I hate her." She said, walking out. "I know your out here Shaeman." Violet mumbled.

Shaeman stepped out of the shadow.
"Thou callest?"

Shadow stood up, walking back inside.

Jamie followed her,
"whats this decision stuff all about?" he asked her

Violet sat down, patting the ground. "i'm sorry, again. I can understand if you wouldnt forgive me. But it's...so hard." She said, pulling her legs up to her chest.

Shadow turned to Jamie, hiding her emotions carefully.
"The Senate came."

Shaeman remained on his feet.
"I know what you're going through, and I understand that it is hard."

Violet looked up at him. "How can you know what I'm going through?" She asked in a low vioce

"Once I found out about Kar and Shadow, I wanted to help her really badly, but I feared for her safety if I intervened." Shaeman said.

Violet nodded. "You hate me dont you?" She asked.

Shaeman shook his head.
"Everyone errs."

"What?" Violet asked.

"Everyone makes mistakes or freaks out." Shaeman translated.

Jamie looked at her
"what did they do?" he asked her?
"are they gone?"

Violet nodded. "What do you think would have happen if....she wasnt born or anything?" Violet asked.

Shadow looked away from Jamie.
"I don't remember much, I was unconscious. But when I came round, I was in a cell and Arias came in..." Shadow's voice faltered.

Shaeman looked at Violet.
"Then you wouldn't have gained a daughter to love."

Jamies eyes filled up with tears,
"are they gone?" he repeated

"She doesnt even know me." Violet said, standing up. "We need to sit down and talk about this." She said.

Shadow swallowed hard, continuing.
"She gave me three options. Get rid of them, give them to the senate, or die."

Shaeman sighed.
"She will know you. Just give it time."

Violet nodded. "Are you staying out here?" She asked, holding her head down.

Jamie bowed his head
"which one?" he asked

"Yes, I wish to listen to the stars." Shaeman said.

"I don't know." Shadow said, allowing one tear to fall.

Violet nodded and kissed him on the cheek and walked inside.

Jamie looked up
"you haven't decided yet?" Jamie stood up and orbed away

"the elders said that they will take the children, the senate will fight with them not you...2 he said...

"Are you sure about this? The Senate won't give up with out a fight..." Shadow said in fear.

"Have you two decided? The spell thing is still up?" She offered for them. "I'm going to go and check on-" Violet started but heard a crash. "Oh no." She said, running up the strias.

Shaeman sprinted after Violet, fearing the worst.

Violet open the door to see Alyssa on the floor crying. "Sweety, what happen?" She asked, looking at the glass on the ground. "I had a bad dream adn kicked the table." She mumbled.

Jamie nodded
"the elders will sort that out... it seems like all they can do is let a sente teach them along with the elders

Shadow sat down, she was trying not to cry.
"It's started again..."

Shaeman knelt down next to Allyssa, holding out a hand.
"It's ok, it was only a dream. Do you want to tell us about it?"

"what on earth do you mean?" he asked her

Alyssa nodded but looking only at Sheamna. "Why is a human here?" She whispered. Violet looked at him, before standing up.

"It's like Kar has come back, and we're back running..." Shadow said.

Shaeman tried to sooth the girl.
"It's ok, this is your mother.."

Alyssa glared at Violet who had just sat back down. Violet held her head down. "My mother's a human?" She asked in an innocnet voice, tears still in her eyes. "The what are you?" She asked Shaeman.

"I'm your father. What do you remember?" Shaeman asked.

"Someone telling me I'm nothing but a pathetic human and didnt belong with them." She said, holding her head down. Violet went to pick her up, but stopped by the look of her face. "I'm just going to sit outside." Violet whispered.

"Listen, you're not pathetic, ok? You didn't belong with them because you belong with us." Shaeman said.

Violet walked down stairs. "She hates me." Violet whispered. "She hates humans." Violet said, sitting down. "What's up?" She asked the two.

Alyssa shook her head. "I agree with them, but the way they said it made me feel bad." She said.

"They wanted to do that. They wanted you to feel small so you didn't challenge them." Shaeman explained.

Alyssa nodded and stood up. "Why is that human my mother?" She asked. "Their kind arent suppose to mix with us." She said, climbing back on the bed.

"Rules can be broken." Shaeman said with a small smile, sitting next to her. "There is nothing wrong with being part human."

"Yes there is. It makes you an outcast." She said, covering up. "Is she a good human?" She asked.

Violet walked out of the lving room and walked into the kitchen and got something to drink.

"It doesn't. I am a quarter human, your aunts and uncle are half human. It doesn't make you an outcast, it makes you special." Shaeman said.

"Specail?" She asked. "I'm not specail, I'm stupid." She said, getting tired.

"No you're not." Shaeman said firmly.

"Yes...I..am." Alyssa saidm beofer falling alseep.
