masquerade ball

I pm'd elfie and asked and she said it was fine as it will get people into the spirit for the big masquerade event later on.

so here we are, a masquerade ball


::the great hall was decorated with a spectacular array of lights and tinsel as it awaited the arrival of the students in masks::

::She walked into the hall, mask on her face, wondering whether anyone would recognise her::

(There should be...but I don't know either lol)

He smiled, his hand falling from her waist as the song ended. Damn time...he didn't want the night to end already. "That's a good question." He peered around and offered a smile to Ginny and a small wave. "Is there an after party or anything?"

"An after party for a ball, wonderful idea!" Elana said cheerfully. Anything to delay heading back to the Tower, she thought, and besides, a party would be fun!::

He scratched his head curiously. Guess there is one now. He shrugged. He didn't want to go back to Gryffindor Tower anyway. "Where to have it though."

(The prefects are planning something that I can't say here, but I can say this: No need to think of something to do after the m-ball.)

"I do not know," Elana said, smiling.

::The night was nearly over, but she wasn't dreading the end. Sure, she'd like to wear the dress more and the mask was sure fun to have, but life had to return to normal sometime. And Boggy seemed like he still wanted her in his life even when the ball was over, she wasn't going to argue with that. And Mum...well, Mum was just going to have to live with it.::

"Well, I guess this is goodnight then."

Though he was having a lot of fun being the guy he was at the ball, it was time to return to reality and not being noticed much. Which was ok as long as Elana still talked to him. Though he supposed that she didn't really have much of a choice now...though he was dreading Ginny tracking him down...

"Yeah...I guess it is," Elana said. "Thanks again. See you around."

::She gave him one last smile, then turned to leave...::

::Ginny shrugged::

"Not too much...just that my daughter is hooking up with some GUY over there!" ::she huffed and crossed her arms. Ginny turned over to her fellow badger and sighed::

"I suppose I'm being too crazy and such but Ela-" ::she stopped talking when she saw Boggy kiss Elana's hand and Elana kiss his cheek.::

"What was that?!" ::the red head hissed pulling out her wand and starting to head over when she saw Elana walking away from him.::

"Well then..."

Suddenly the door slams open, once again! A confused looking Caree stumbled in to the Great Hall.

"Isn't this where all the rum is?" she asked and looked hopefully behind the door. "Oh darn, don't tell me i went to the wrong room again! First i ran into some weird people that told me that they were going to take me to the moon but i said i were busy so mwehh, then i found a drunken Dobby and it wasn't a pretty sight..."

She walked in and looked around, still feeling lost.

"This looks familiar..." Caree said and scratched her head thoughtfully. "Is this the Ball thingypling? I LOVE BALLS!!!! Drinks all around!" she exclaimed and waved her rum bottle in the air excitedly, almost hitting a first year in the head with it.

:Ginny turned and saw...could it be..yes! It was! Caree!!::

"CARRRRRR!" ::she shouted running over and tacklehugging her, nearly knocking over the precious bottle of rum::

"Where ya been?"

"WATCH THE RUM, WOMAN!!!!" she roared when she got tacklehuggled by a red headed girl, her Muffie. ^^

She checked if the rum was still alive, well, as alive as a bottle of rum could be, and sighed of relief when she saw that it was unharmed.

"Yahh, i've been here and there, there and here, everywhere you might say!" Caree said cheerfully. "How's the party? Missed me muchy?" she said grinning.

::Ginny nodded::

"Yeah, I've missed you. Well, this and that has happened you know. Right now I'm watching my daughter talk to this guy and holy whoa where are they?!" ::she shot up and began searching the room for Elana and Boggy.::

::Seeing her Mum jumping up and down to look over the heads of students, Elana smiled and gave her a small wave and another "See, I was good, good I tell you!" look.::

::She sighed and continued towards the doors, ready to disappear into the crowd.::

(*sniffles* I don't want to leave!)

::She smiled and nodded and mouthed::

"Allright..." ::to her daughter before she watched her begin to disappear into the crowd. Briefly, she wondered if she should worry about with who and where she was disappearing, but, for now, she'd trust her.::

(omg, is the ball ending?! *sobs* But we haven't left it yet....this is so sad! I love this topic... ::sad cry:: )

Caree crawled under a table with her rum bottle and grinned mischievously.

"Bwahah, my precioussssss...." she said and huggled the bottle.

(All good things come to an end...sad yes i know)

~Jesse walked through the crowd hugging and shaking hands with his friends ~

"Well guys, this has been a blast huh? But it's almost over now. Maybe we can get in a few last dances before it's the end!"

He then undid his tie and pulled it off and put it in his pocket. "Whew I can breathe again!"

Jess skipped through the crowd that was slimming down people were already leaving the ball and the whole time she had never danced.. she reached down and slipt off her heals. She looked at all the happy people and new couples coming out of the ball.

"ooh I think Ill have a better veiw up there" she made sure no one was looking and she floated herself up to the rafters watching the happy people exiting the ball and the few stragglers and couples still dancing

"Oooooh, dancing!!!" Caree grinned and stumbled from under the table, hitting her head gracefully on her way. "Owwwwie!" she groaned and gave the table a cold glare. "i'll deal with you later, murr..."

Caree looked around, feeling slightly out of place, so she sat down on the floor and watched the couples around her dance. She started to hum to the music and hit herself when she realized what she was doing.

~Jesse grinned then started doing the macarena cuz the song came on~

"Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Caree watched with raised eyebrows how Jesse danced Macarena, clearly wondering how she knew him.

"You're either very bored or very hyper!" she yelled to him over the noise.

She watched around and noticed more and more people start dancing to the Macarena. She sighed and shooked her head, and started to count her toes slowly..

~Jesse stopped as a rock song came on and turned around and grabbed Caru's hand.~

"Come on, let's dance!" he shouted over the loud noise.~

::Elana laughed, coming out of her thoughts. The macarena was playing and her dad and Car were dancing. Then, suddenly the music changed to rock. The crowd she was in thinned as students returned to the dance floor, and she was unsure of what to do. Elana had already said goodnight to Drake, so would it be wrong to go back since the ball seemed to be coming back to life? She sighed and, not coming to any conclusions, continued standing awkwardly near the doors.::

::Ginny gasped when Jesse started dancing with Caree. She stormed over and said::

"Oi! Don't steal Caree from me!"

I lost Trevor on the way, and got late to come here... is someone free for a dance ?

Shia Fawcett stepped into the slowly emptying ballroom. She glanced at the clock at the entrance and heard the clock chiming twelve. Primly, she made her way over to the other prefects and began helping to clean up. She hadn't bothered to come to the dance. She was a Ravenclaw, and Ravenclaws just didn't dance. The thought caused her nose to turn up a little, but this attitude quickly dissipated when she caught sight of Harry. She gave him a quick smile (she knew him from DA) and ushered Hermione and Ron over to help her clean up the tables.

::Amber looked around at the people and laughed.::

"Well for those of you left I'm off," she called. "Night!"

As Drake headed up the stairs to bed he quirked a brow. "Is the ball picking back up?" He scratched his head and bolted back down the stairs and slid into the doorway of the Great Hall. It certainly seemed to be. "Brilliant." He grinned and silently snuck up behind Elana and placed his hands over her eyes. "Guess who?"

~Jesse grinned as he danced with Caru~ "I didn't think I'd ever be able to tear you away from your drinking" he teased as he spun her around and then pulled her back.~

"You look really pretty tonight and with the ball winding down, I couldn't let you escape without having at least one dance haha!"

::Caree grinned as Jesse spun her around and let out a gasp when she got pulled back to him.::

"Why thank you!" ::she said smirking.:: "You look very, erm... pretty too" ::Caree said, trying to keep a straight face, but failing horribly.::

::She hid her face to his shoulder and was shaking of laughter. Tears were running down her cheeks as she tried to control herself.::

"I'm so so so so sorry, Jesse...." ::she laughed and tried to stop laughing.:: "I just think you look so pretty!"

:Harry was late for the ball as he skidded into the great hall: (my name really is harry, im not joking) :He scratched his and wanderd around, looking for someone to dance with:

::Elana was just about to turn and leave the ball when someone came up behind her and put his hands over her eyes.::

"Guess who?"

::She grinned, so happy that he had come back. She tapped her index finger near her mouth as if thinking hard about the question.::

"Well, I do recognize the voice...But whoever could it belong to?" Elana said jokingly. She paused for a moment, and said, "Let me take a wild guess. Drake?"

::She put her hands to his and pulled them off of her eyes, then turned and smiled at him.::

"Knew it," she said, laughing.

He chuckled and smiled at her. "How'd you guess?" He tugged at the leather gloves that he still wore. "It was the accent wasn't it?" He winked and looked around the Hall. "Ball picked back up, eh?" His eyes lit up with excitement as he looked about. Many people had gone, but there were still some left. "Gives me a reason not to go back to the Common Room."

"Oh, of course it wasn't the accent. I just know what you sound like," Elana said matter-of-factly. "Only one reason? Don't think I can name just one. Well," she said, sticking out a finger for every thing she stated. "There's music playing, people are dancing, the ball hasn't ended yet as we had thought, I'm more than willing to dance...." She paused again and cocked her head as she looked up at him. "Do I need to say more?"

::Amber walked back in, it was boring in the common room anyway. She looked around and saw farmilar faces and grinned. Finally some people she knew.::

"Well then." He smiled and looked out to the dance floor, emerald eyes still alight. "Why don't we get out there then?" He raised his brows and offered her his arm, leading her out onto the dance floor once more.

"Sounds good to me," she said cheerfully, looping her arm through his. As she did so, she saw her friend Amber enter the ball again. Quickly before she and Drake had gone too far for her to help Amby, Elana looked around for a random guy that Amber could dance with. Spotting someone near the doors, Elana jerked her head back towards him, giving Amber a meaningful look as she did so.::

::Amber sent a confused look towards Elana, what was she going on about now? She raised and eyebrow and looked not connecting the dots.:: XD

::Sighing, Elana turned to Drake and said, "Oh, I'm so sorry, but I'll be right back, ok?"

::She smiled apologetically, and walked over to the guy standing alone by the doors.::

"Hello," she said cheerfully. "Looks like the only thing you're missing at the ball is a partner; a lovely friend of mine is in the same situation," she said, nodding towards Amber, who looked like she may be understanding what was going on.::

::Amber looked at Elana understanding. She walked over to the new comer and smiled.::

"Hello!" she said cheerfully.

"Well," Elana said happily, glad to have helped a bit, "you two have a good time."

::She grinned at them and headed back over to Drake. She took his hand in hers and said, "Sorry about that again. Helping a friend," she said, peeking over her shoulder at Amber. She winked at Amby and continued with Drake to the dance floor.::

"No problem." He smiled and nodded to Amber and the newcomer. "Nice Amby's got someone to dance with now." He looked back to Elana and ran a hand through his hair, the firction of the leather making it stick up a bit. "Shall we then?"

::Chloe walks in looking around nervously::

"What the hell am I doing here,"She muttered to herself.

::Chloe wasn't exactly the dance type but she had nothing better to do so here she was. there were some people about that seemed to be having fun which was what her life lacked alot these days. She sighed and sat down by herself staring at the floor::

"Shall we then?"

::Elana smiled up at him in response, and put her arms around his neck, swaying to the soft music. How different the night had been from what she thought it would be. Dancing with a handsome guy was not something she had foreseen for sure. Also being at the ball until the very end. She couldn't have wished for a better night.::

::Ginny pouted and walked away from Caree and the Caree-stealing Jesse. She noticed Harry walk in and smiled, waving at him.::

"Hi Harry! Long time no see!" ::she called out, pushing a strand of her red hair behind her ear. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Amber and laughed.::

"Welcome back Amby!"

::Amber laughed and waved.::

"Hi Gin," she said

::She looked over at Harry and said::

"If you want someone to dance with, come find me. But for now...I gotta dance with my Charmed Chica!" ::Ginny bounded over to Amber and grabbed her hand, twirling her around and around.::

::Amber laughed. and danced with Ginny none the less.::

"You know I think Elana was trying to get me to dance with Harry," she told ginny. "but then again I'm never sure of these things."

::The red head rolled her eyes::

"Psh you know you'd rather dance with me, Amber." ::she said with a giggle.::

::Amber laughed.::

"You'd you know?" ::She asked sarcastically.::
