masquerade ball

I pm'd elfie and asked and she said it was fine as it will get people into the spirit for the big masquerade event later on.

so here we are, a masquerade ball


::the great hall was decorated with a spectacular array of lights and tinsel as it awaited the arrival of the students in masks::

::She walked into the hall, mask on her face, wondering whether anyone would recognise her::

(Yeah, rpg chat is easier to interact with people :D )

~He looked around and then sipped his juice slowly~
~He glanced over at Elana and then back to his half empty cup of juice~

(Hehe I had to get used to RPChat because I'm used to RPing this way...LOL if you want I could break out my long cultivated Rp skills haha)

::Ginny shrugged, and smoothed out her dress.::

"Do whatever you wanna do." ::she giggled.::

"Of course, we could always get out there and dance, I know a spell to speed up the music."

(Too lazy to be RPGoddess....maybe later...)

~His slender fingers slowly released the grip fromhis cup as he placed it on the table. Tossing his cloak behind him,he pulled out his wand and turned the slow music into a loud ballad of rock guitar solo's and heart pounding drums.~

~The music had a powerful beat to it and now he was in the mood to dance. All he needed was a dance partner.~

~His gaze snapped over to Elana and he walked over to her. He pulled his hat off from his soft blond hair and tossed it to Ginny.~
"Could you hold that for me?" he asked her.

~Then he reached down and took Elana's hand. "Do you want to come dance with me?" He asked with a grin.~

(Wonderful RP'ing skills Jesse. This should be fun.)

"Do you want to come dance with me?"

::Elana's mouth opened to a small 'o' of suprise and raised her eyebrows. She looked down at her hand, now held by the masked boy. She shrugged, looking at the redheaded girl. What've I got to loose? she thought, tossing her dark brown curls over her shoulder. I did just say that I wanted to dance.::

"Okay," she said. "Can you hold this?" she asked the girl, holding out the rose with her free hand.

::She grinned up at the boy, and, realizing that he was grinning too, started to laugh softly. This should be...well, if nothing else, interesting. And who says this is forgiving? It's just one dance...::

((TURN ME INTO A COAT RACK WILL YA!?!?!? Grr I'll get you both later...))

::Ginny gasped in surprise as she was suddenly holding the hat of the boy, and the girl's rose. She rolled her eyes in annoyance, but smiled. People can be oh so forgiving sometimes. The red head used her heel to snag a chair and sat down, the hat in her lap. Her brown eyes lingered on the rose for a moment, as if remembering something painful, but then she placed it in the hat as well.::

"I hope this is a very quick song...I don't like being used as a piece of furniture..." ::she muttered, absentmindedly swaying back and forth to the music. Ginny was blissfully unaware of how idiotic she must've looked. But no matter. She swung her right hand over the high back of the chair and grabbed herself something to drink.::

"I better not get any of this on my dress..pumpkin juice clashes dreadfully with yellow..." ::the red head murmured as she took a dainty sip.::

(*takes a picture* AWW FATHER AND DAUGHTER MOMENT :D)

(*big smile for picture* CHEESE! *huggles parents* Love you guys.)

::Elana, careful to not trip again, walked with the boy to the dance floor, wondering what would happen.::

::She looked back at the redhead, who had gotten herself some pumpkin juice and was swaying to the loud music. Elana then looked up at the band, wondering what to do. Now that it's come to this, the only dancing I've done was with Kitkat in the competition, and that was to songs from Grease. Whoops, should've thought of that earlier.::

~He led Elana out on the dancefloor and started dancing with her as the music got faster~

"Woohooo! This is fun huh?" He chuckled as he broke into some wild dance numbers~

(Only a coatrack for a short while so I could dance with my Daddy. *pouts*)

::Elana nodded, laughed and loosened up, dancing wildly to the fast paced music. She felt her hair hit her face that wasn't covered by the mask, and felt the mask loosen a little. She stopped for a moment to tighten her mask, and let it slip a little, revealing some of her face. No! she thought, pulling it back up and finishing tying it. It must not come off!::

::The music stopped, the sudden silence shocking Elana. She sighed, it was over. Not forgiving, right?...Well, why not!? She grinned, looking over to the boy. Elana began to laugh, thinking of how she would usually never do such a thing like this. Laughing harder, she put her hands around her middle, and the laughs subsided. She still couldn't believe that she had danced with a total stranger. When that stranger had made fun of her only a little bit before.::

"So....," she said, looking back over to the boy.

~When the music stopped his gaze shifted to the girl then to the floor~
~For a moment, his cheeks turned a slight red and he cleared his throat a few times before exhaling slowly~

"Well...erm...that was a nice dance..." He said in a quiet tone.~

~he then glanced over to the refreshment table and then to Elana and down to the floor.~

"Hey um...I'm feeling kind of thirsty so um... you want to maybe..get something to drink?" He stammered in a nervous tone, as his cheeks turned a bit more red.~he nervously fidgeted and lifted his head slowly looking to her with soft blue eyes~

::Annie was about to die of boredem so she slid out from her place and stood in the middle of the dance floor.:
:She looked around frantically for anyone nearby. Seeing no one close, she started spinning on her own.::

Hey um...I'm feeling kind of thirsty so um... you want to maybe..get something to drink?"

::Elana, suprised at the sudden blush and the nervousness in the boy's voice, smiled.::

"Now that you mention it, I'm quite thirsty too."

OC: Annie, just wander over to someone, it worked for me. Except I fell into them!

(haha yeah you fell into them :D come on Annie jump in )

~He walked over to the refreshment table with Elana and poured her and himself some punch.~

~He handed her a cup then took a sip from his own and sighed~
"I am really surprised that this ball is so empty, it's rather odd if you ask me." He then cleared his throat and looked to Elana. ~

"You're not a bad dancer and from what I can see, you're quite lovely too." He complimented with a half smile. Then he adjusted his mask and took another slow sip of his punch.~

::Elana immediately blushed, and nearly gagged on a mouthfull of punch. Usually no one but family called her pretty, and certainly not beautiful, and she wasn't used to being complimented. She was very modest normally, and didn't get noticed much. A few stray curls fell around her face as she looked down into her cup of punch. But I guess this is the whole point of the ball, she thought, grinning. You can be whoever you want to be.::

"Thanks," she said, looking up at him with her big green eyes. "Yeah, it is strange. Doesn't even seem that anyone else is going to dance."

::She raised an eyebrow and shrugged, taking a sip of the punch. It was quite fun, really, dancing.::

~The tips of his soft, feathery blond bangs fell over the top of his black mask as he lowered his head to the floor slightly. His features were relaxed unlike when he'd first arrived feeling annoyed and arrogant. He sighed and took a moment to look into his punch as if he were looking to see if anything was in it. But in actuality, he was quite nervous and unsure of what to do or say~

~He lifted his head and his blue eyes fell on the girl that was still standing in front of him.~

~He cleared his throat and then took another sip of his drink, hoping that would give him a moment to think of what exactly to say to the girl.~

~However he gulped down his punch faster than he had planned due to his nerves and he quickly pulled the cup from his lips and placed it on the table. He then cleared his throat again and took a deep breath~

"So, erm...here we are." ~He said, his voice shaky just a bit, speaking as if he were about to continue on with a speech about their surroundings. But quickly he froze up and instead fell silent once more.~

~He glanced over to see a strand of her curly hair fall into her face and he stepped closer to her and slowly moved his hand up and carefully tucked the strand behind her ear then stepped back with a slight smile.~

"So, after you finish that.." He gestured to her drink~ "would you like to dance with me again?"~he asked with a slight squeak to his tone as he cast his soft, blue eyes shly to the floor~

(I'm in the middle of writing a romance story so it's coming out in my rp heh)

OC: LOL!!! Can I read the story later or is it not one of your 'tame ones'?

::The boy reached out and carefully tucked the curl behind one of her ears. Elana smiled shyly, not knowing what else to do.::

"So, after you finish that.." He gestured to her drink~ "would you like to dance with me again?"

::Elana looked up, smiling, and said, "I'd love to. I should probably tell her," she nodded her head towards the redheaded girl. "She's been sitting there for a while."::

::She drank the rest of her punch and grinned. She was beginning to like this boy, as a friend, of course. But maybe...maybe, something mpre. Forgive and forget, right? she thought. First impressions aren't usually correct either. What've I got to loose? I've been meaning to make some new friends and this is the perfect opportunity! Yes, friends.::

:Keelin stood waiting outside of the Great Hall, wondering why she came. It's not like anyone asked her and it wasn't like anyone would ask her to dance anyway. But it was worth a shot. maybe she would find someone to talk to. Quickly, she combed a hand through her black hair, adjusted her mask and made sure that her dark green dress was presentable.:

"Here goes aboslutley nothing.." she muttered to herself and entered the hall. As she walked around, she calmed down a bit and took a deep breath. She hoped that at least someone noticed her, but for now she leaned against the wall and let her eyes flutter closed to get her nerves to calm down

::Annie stopped spinning abruptly and fell. She noticed a girl is a green dress by herself over against the wall. Hmm...I'm bored. She looks bored... YAY! Someone to bug!:

:She glided to her feet and over to the girl, who had her eyes close. Annie pulled back her sleeve, revealing a long, slender hand and waved it once in front of the girl's face.::

:Keelin could feel a presence near here so she opened her right eye and saw a girl standing before her. She opened her other eye and her lips curved into a smile as she pushed herself off the wall. Keelin wondered what else to say to the girl. She looked around the room and ran a hand through her black hair, before deciding to get something to drink. Her mouth was quite dry, so maybe a bit of punch would help.:

"Let's..uh..go get something to drink..." she said, walking to the refreshment table. When she arrived there, a blonde haired boy stood talking with who she thought was his date. Keelin reached around him, grabbing two cups and started to pour her and her new friend some punch.

"Hello!" Elana said to a girl getting punch. "Enjoying the ball?"

::She smiled, wondering who the girl was.::

:Keelin looked up, surprised and noticed a girl smiling kindly at her next to her date:

"It's alright." she shrugged. Keelin looked over at the dance floor and then faced the girl who had greeted her so warmly. "So..how is the ball working out for you?"

"It's been...pretty good so far."

::Elana turned around and grinned at the boy.::

* Shae silently entered the Great Hall, she knew that she was quite late, but it didnt matter much,especially since she had no desire to come in the first place.It just wasnt her type of scene. She felt really awkward in her long flowing black dress which ruffled slightly the the bottom and hugged her curves slightly in the center and she hated the small black mask that had covered her eyes, so that their emerald green color stood out in the black. Shae let out a sigh and walked on, looking for a familiar face, it would have been much better if she had gotten a date, then she wouldnt have felt so stupid wondering who everyone was. She bit her lower lip in anticipation and walked over to the refreshment table where some people stood talking. Shae's infamous grin spread across her face as she walked over towards them. Good, maybe i will recognize them, I didnt come to this thing to stand around looking like a complete idiot. She was feeling a bit better since she might have soemone to talk to now, but her sudden happiness was crushed when the pair went onto the dance floor and began dancing. A large sigh escaped her body as she changed course and walked over to an empty table and sat down.

"Why did I even bother to come to this?" She asked herself. because you were bored "These things always end in disappointment for me." Shae began fiddling with the elegant table cloth where she sat, trying to hold in the tears that wanted to fall from her now glossy green eyes.

OC: *huggles shae* No problem! I'm so glad that you two are posting here! Sorry for posting such short posts. Arg!

"Hey, Shae."

::Elana spun around, grinning, recognizing that voice. Her dress lifted to her ankles as she turned, revealing the infamous shoes. I'm so glad she came! she thought. But I don't think she knows it's me. Not yet, at least.::

::She faced the girl, Skully she was sure of it now. Cute ears! she thought happily. Elana bit her lip, waiting for her chance to say hello.::

:Keelin noticed that the girl she had been talking to seemed to be talking to someone who she knew. She sighed, tossing her black hair and watched the band playing at the dance. Everyone elese was dancing and having a good time. What on earth possesed her to come here? As she dwelled in her thoughts, someone pushed passed her, causing her to spill punch on her dress:

"Crap!" She shouted, grabbing a napkin and dabbing herself. "Of all the unlucky things to happen.." she started to mutter to herself as she scrubbed off the stain. This dance was not getting any better.

*Maybe I should leave* she thought to herself, taking a deep breath and combing a hand through her hair. SHe did that often when she was uncomfortable.

*Shae's head shot up, she heard someone say her name. She looked around and saw someone wearing cute ears. Then she realized that the voice had come from Skully. She quickly wiped the tears away and got up to talk to skully. At least she wouldnt spend the whole time at the ball sitting alone and feeling stupid.

"Hey Scully! Finally someone that I recognize!" She exlaimed with a grin. " By the way, cute ears." *

"Crap!"

::"Oh, goodness, are you allright?" Elana asked the girl as she turned away from Skully. "Here," she muttered a clensing charm and the punch disappeared from the girls dress. Elana took the girls cup and filled it, reaching around the boy to the punch bowl. "Stuff like that happens to me a lot," she said smiling, as she handed the now full cup to the girl.::

:Keelin let out a sigh of relief and smile apprieciativly at the girl. She took the cup of punch that she refilled:

"Thank you!" Keelin said. "I tend to be caught up in things like that."

OC: OMG I love this thread so much! *huggles it* Jesse, post please, I need you!

"Same here. Actually," Elana said, looking up at the boy, "one of my accidents caused us to meet! When the ball started, I was just sitting alone, and so I decided to get up and walk around. But then," she lifted the bottom of the dress to show those wretched white heels, "these got caught on my dress, and it all went 'downhill' from there." She grinned. "Well, not really, because I met a girl I hadn't seen before, and him too."

::Elana fiddled with the curl that he had tucked behind her ear, wondering how that night would end.::

::After minutes of being myteriously gone (muahaha), she slid over to the girl she had been trying to talk to. She had just spilled punch on her dress and was talking to another girl.:

"Hows the ball so far?" she teased with a grin.::

"Yeah Skully they really are cute" She told her with a grin.

So, how's this going so far?"

Shae was about to reply with a not so good, but skully went off to talk to someone else, who Shae did not recognize quite yet. With a small sigh she once again sat down, watching people from a distance. She was really tempted to dance, but she knew she would look like such a fool if she got up and started dancing by herself, especially to a slow song. She laughed to herself at the thought. Ha, i would look so ridiculous, people would think i am a nutter fresh off the farm. That definately is an impression i do NOT want to make. Shae tucked a stray curl of her blonde hair behind her ear, this wasnt as good as she thought it might be. She wished she had never came.

~Jesse lifted his head and raised a brow looking to the people who had arrived, he knew they looked familiar~

"Hey Skully, Shae" He greeted them ~

~Then his blue eyes shifted slightly to the girl Keelin who seemed to be new~
"Hi, I take it you're new here? Haven't seen you before" He said raising a brow~

She went back to gazing at the few couples dancing on the floor, it seemed a lot of people had come to this thing dateless, since few were dancing to the slow song and many we're around chatting. Shae was doign neither, she was just humming along to the music, thinking about what this ball could have been like if there was more excitement, or at least more excitement for her.

::Elana smiled back at Skully, now sure that it was her once Skully had used her Skully-name for Elana. Another girl had come to the refreshment table and was asking the girl that had just spilled punch on her how the ball was going. Skully was now talking to a girl that Elana kind of recognized, but not really. Elana watched these conversations with a small smile on her face, she wasn't actually listening, her eyes gave that away. She wasn't really looking at the girls, but past them, into space, thinking. She was absently curling a strand of hair around her index finger, with a plesant expression on her face.::

::Well, I didn't think any of this would happen, she thought happily. But I'm so glad it did! I wonder what-what will happen once the ball is over...Will we be able to recognize each other? Any of us? I still haven't figured out who he and two of the girls are... Her head tilted to one side as she thought, and her expressive eyebrows came closer together as she tried to put names on the people around her she didn't recognize.::

::I should probably go to the redhead, tell her that I'm dancing again...or am I still dancing with him? He didn't say anything about it after the girls started coming...::

*Shae smiled when Skully once again started talking with her. She was really fond of skully and loved her dearly as a friend, so she was glad that they had a chance to speak again.

"It's not going all that well, Not many exciting things are happening. I'd probably be having more fun if i had a date. Then maybe these dreadful slow songs wouldnt be so boring. How's it going for you?" *

OC: I tatally forgot about this!!!


:Keelin looked at the boy who addressed her:

"Yes," she said, looking down at her cup of punch. She ran a hand through her black hair once more. "I was transferred here. I came to the ball hoping to meet new people."

As if he cared anyway. She excused herself and decided to head outside for some fresh air. Hopefully it'll clear her thoughts.

~Jesse chuckled and excused himself as he went off to mingle with the others who had shown up. Obviously, he was the only guy here for now.~

~He then chuckled as the music began speeding up into a techno fast beat~

~He walked over, grabbed skully's hand and pulled her onto the dancefloor~

"Woohooo! Let's dance!!" He said twirling her around and dancing with her~

"Hahahaha, well yeah it's a bit dead but we can liven it up!"

~He pulled out his wand and created dozens of explosive indoor fireworks~

"There we go!" he grinned as the noise cause several people to nearly jump out of their skins~

:Keelin heard the slow music change into a fast beat and decided to join in the festivites. Might as live up the night! Can't let it go to waste. She ran inside, smiling at how dark it became so the disco lights could shine brighter. It was almost like a club

She went to the middle of the dance floor and started letting out dance moves. Her shyness gone as she twirled and laughed.

Girls Just wanna have fun! She thought.

:Keelin jumped at the sound of fireworks. Her face lit up and she slipped outside to the balcony to watch them. They were fascinating to see...so many colors and lights amazing! She leaned against the railing, her eyes transfixed up at the sky. She would go back inside once the display was done:

~He started shaking his bootie and jumping around dancing wildly~

OC: Show them moves Fated!!! LoL

:Keelin rushed out from where she was outside and asked the DJ to play the Conga song:

"Conga Line!!!" She shouted. "Wooo!"
