9th House Quidditch: RAVENCLAW V GRYFFINDOR: 4th - 8th

(Ravenclaw Beater)

::Elana walked onto the Pitch, broom over her shoulder, beaming with curls that had escaped from her loose ponytail whipped around her face by the brisk wind that was blowing. She mounted her broom and kicked off from the freezing ground. As she took a warm up fly around the Pitch, she looked around for her team mates and opponents, hoping that her team would show up soon and they could get a good, full game in...not like their last game. Elana sat up and began tossing her bat from one hand to the other, waiting anxiously for her team to arrive.::

(Gryffindor Beater)

::Amber ran into the pitch pink faced and out of breath. She looked around and muttered.::

"Tell me to get here at a certin time and are late themselves!" ::she mummbled.::

::She looked around and saw Elana.::

"Hey Elana!" ::she called flying up next to her.::

(Ravenclaw Beater)

Jimmy's teeth were chattering against the cold, but he gave his armpads a last once-over as he mounted his broom. He could see a blue-robed figure hovering near the far posts, but at this distance he couldn't make out who it was. Tossing his bat in the air and catching it with one hand, he pushed off on his Comet 260. It was an old broom, sure, definitely not one of the top models, but in his position he didn't really need speed as much as sturdy braking and cushioning charms. His Comet had that in abundance, and to be fair to her, she wasn't all that sluggish.

He immediately blinked his eyes as they began to water instinctively, the cold air whipping against them as his body began to adjust to its velocity, his weight leaning slightly forward against the shaft of his broom, feet fitting into the stirrups at the tail. He tested the maneuverability, banking to the load before turning sharply right and pulling into a gentle barrel roll before arcing upwards, curving around before he had to turn to stay on the right side of his broom. Moving his weight forward, the broom shot towards the goalposts before he pulled it into a swerve, stopping it by the other Ravenclaw.

"Hey, Elana!" He waved, greeting his fellow beater. He was on the reserve team, but they'd practiced together several times and he felt confident that they could work with each other's styles. They'd been practicing a few set pieces with the chasers in their spare time and they had a few surprises for the Lions that day. "Bit nippy, eh?" He turned to look at the crimson-robed Gryffindor who'd joined Elena whilst he was warming up. "Amby, right? Hey"

"Hey Amby! Ready to be crushed by us Ravens?" she asked, grinning.

"Hey, Elana! Bit nippy, eh?"

"Yeah, just a bit," Elana said, giving him a wave and a grin. "Welcome to your first game, Jimmy! Very glad to have you here."

::Amber grinned.::

"Yup it is." ::she replied to Jimmy.::

"Oh you Ravenclaws are going down we have gotten ahead of you in housepoints this match will be cake, a very good Gryffindor cake that is," ::she grinned, before doing a few loops on her broom.::

(Ravenclaw Beater)

"Don't listen to her," Elana said to Jimmy, smiling encouragingly. "She has no idea what she's talking about. And if I remember correctly, they've lost every game so far this year and we've only lost one out of three."

(Ravenclaw Beater)

He returned her smile, before glaring at the aerobatics in front of him.

"You're right. Besides," he smirked evilly. "We're the ones carrying the two, heavy bats."

(Ravenclaw Beater)

"Very true," Elana said, taking a one handed practice swing. Though she wasn't the usual build for a Beater, she was stronger than she looked, and her weight proved to be an advantage because she could fly more quickly, even on an older broom, than some of her opponents.::

(lol, I don't know how much you guys weigh, don't take that as an insult. I'm 14 and 120 lbs, so I'm just assuming that since lots of you are years older than me I get to be lighter, lol.)

"I wonder where everyone is," Elana said, looking towards the Ravenclaw's entrance to the Pitch from their locker room. "Well, it's still early, but still! Last game no one was here except me and the Hufflepuff Keeper for a long time."

(Gryffindor Beater)

"That may be so," ::Amber replied.:: "But just like with the housepoints you are going to help us make a turn around."

::She held up her own beater bat.:: "I have one to ya know, and you'd have to catch me after all I'm not the typical beater build either."

(lol Elana dear I beat you at 13 and 115 lbs XD so no insult taken. I wish I was 120 again, but I can't seem to keep on the weight.)

"No clue," ::she replied.::

(And you're younger than me, lol. *gives amby a plate covered in brownies* EAT)

(Ravenclaw Beater)

"Hmmmm....Well, I can't stay still any longer," she said with a laugh before lying low on her broom and taking off towards the other end of the Pitch. It felt so good to be up in the air, flying free, as RAVENS were meant to.::

(Brownies!! I eat sweets and fattening food all the time XD nothing healthy at all weeee!! lol)

(Gryffindor Beater)

::Amber laughed.::

"I think I may just take after her lead." ::she replied before flying around the pitch.:: "GO GRYFFINDOR!" ::she yelled passing the Gryffindor section.::

(Ravenclaw Beater)

"Hmm." Jimmy replied, before flying back down to the changing rooms and returning with what looked like an oversized training quaffle.

"Since we're waiting, a quick game of keep-up?" He asked, tossing the ball in one hand idly before whacking it upwards with his bat.

(Ravenclaw Beater)

"Sounds good to me," Elana said, as she neared him, and then raced upwards to get the training Quaffle. Getting level with it, she swung and hit it down and to the far left of Jimmy.::

(Gryffindor chaser)

::Amy flew onto the pitch and shivered in the harsh November cold. She flew a lap around the pitch whilst the beaters were busy to warm up, then flew down and took the Quaffle from the referee.

She then looked around for the Ravenclaw chasers and keeper.

"Huh, they're not here.", she thought, and so took off in the direction of the goalposts.

She was nearing the left hand hoop, and was close enough to score. Would this be the first goal of the match?::

(Gryffindor Beater)

::Amber grinned.::

"GO AMY GO!!" ::She yelled.::

(Ravenclaw Beater)

"No, bad Amy!" Elana cried, and hit a stray Bludger at her. "We don't even have our Keeper or Chasers! Not fair!"

(Gryffindor Beater)

"It is so!" ::Amber yelled hitting another bludger toward the first sending them both flying away from amy.::

(Gryffindor chaser)

::Not seeing any keeper, and the beaters down the other end of the pitch, amy looped around and threw the quaffle towards the hoop.

It went through! First goal of the match to Gryffindor!::

(Gryffindor Beater)

::Amber cheered loudly for Amy, it was their own fault they weren't there to stop her.::

(Ravenclaw Beater)

Jimmy grimaced as the Quaffle soared through their undefended goal, his countenance brightening slightly as Lifey appeared on the field, grasping the Quaffle as he began streaking towards the other end of the pitch.

With a barely noticeable nod to the boy, Lifey began following the flight path they'd practiced in training. Jimmy took a deep breath, before soaring off in the direction of a bludger, taking aim and smashing it in his chaser's direction.

(ravenclaw chaser)

::Lifey muttered, but moved on. SHe grabbed the quaffle as it was thrown in and soared off towards the gryffindore hoops. Nothing could stop her. SHe signaled ot her players...and hoped nothing stoppped her::

::LIfey saw the bludger comming towards her and gasped::

::She fell from her broom and only hoped that someone would catch her::


::She dropped the quaffle:

(Ravenclaw Beater)

::Recognizing the play that they were doing, Elana flew below Lifey, making sure to stay close to her. One of the more dangerous plays for the Chasers was about to be done...but it was a good one.::

::The Bludger was hit at Lifey, she was 'hit' with it, and fell into Elana's arms.::

"Hey Lifey," Elana said, grinning.::

::Lifey was relieved it worked::

"thanks lana" ::she swung her leg over her broom, which she had held onto.::

"I hope the second half works::

With the wind rushing through his hair, Jimmy gunned his poor, long-sufferring Comet towards the Quaffle, watching as it fell from where Lifey had dropped it. Flattening himself against his broom, he soared past it, managing to turn and pull back his bat just as it reached him.

THHWWWWACK!

With another tremendous slam, the Quaffle reversed direction, flying back to where Lifey was now getting back on his broom.

::LIfey raced up several feet, grabbed the quaffle from midair and shot the quaffle through the center gryffindore hoop while the gryffindors where distracted by her falling.::

::they hadn't had a chance to react::

"TEN POINTS TO US!" ::Lifey cheered, highfiving elana and jimmy::

"great job team!"

Jimmy streaked past Lana, high-fiving her as he did so.

"Go Lifey!" He shouted, twirling his bat around his head like a madman.

(Ravenclaw Seeker)

::Elly ran onto the pitch, mounted her broom and kicked off. It was her first quidditch match in ages. She warmed up by doing a few laps of the pitch and went iotno a steep climb high above the pitch, searching for the snitch::

(ravenclaw chaser)

::Lifey waved to elly::

"hey elly! we just scoreD!"
::and lifey grabbed the quaffle again::

(gryffindor chaser)

::Amy flew alongside lifey, who was in posession of the quaffle, and motioned to amber, who hit a bludger towards the ravenclaw chaser.

In surprise, lifey dropped the quaffle, which amy caught, and zoomed off towards the goalposts.

Would lifey catch her up?::

(Ravenclaw Beater)

Mirroring Amber's actions, Jimmy lined up his bat and let loose with it, smashing another bludger in Amy's direction.

He watched, waiting as it arced towards her. Would she notice? The approach was pretty steep, so if she did he was busted, but there was always a chance...

(ravenclaw chaser)
::Lifey regained controll of the quaffle as amy was thrown off balance by jimmy's bludger.::

"good job jimmmy!" ::Lifey called, ducking as the bludger circled back around for her::

::She passed the quaffle to lily::

(ravenclaw chaser)

::Lifey nodded to lily, dogded a chaser adn bludger.::

::nodded to jimmy to go after the bludger.::

::and caught the quaffle::

::as if on reflex...well it was reflex...she shot the quaffle smoothly through the left hoop as the keeper when towards the right hoop::

::ten more to ravenclaw::

"YEAH!" ::Lifey cheered::

(Gryffindor Beater)

::Amber sighed. She quickly hit a nearby bludger toward lifey. She looked around and was in luck the other Bludger was heading her way. She hit it toward Lily.::

"There! Thats how its done in Gryffindor!"

(Ravenclaw Beater)

Seeing the bludger screech towards Lifey, and another towards Lily, Jimmy maneuvered his broom so that it was between the former, smashing the bludger back where it came from.

"That's how we do things in Ravenclaw!" he yelled, as Amber's eyes widened. "Don't go for the target, go for the hand that goes for it...err...if that makes sense!"

(Gryffindor Beater)

::Amber quickly shook off her confusion of what jimmy had just said.::

"Its not going to be that easy!" ::she exclaimed. She quickly hit the bludger once more sending it flying...toward the commentator box.:: "Good thing Jesse isn't here yet."

(Ravenclaw Beater)

::Elana sped after the Bludger Amby had carelessly hit towards the commentator's box. She reached it and whacked it back towards Amby.::

::While over there, she peeked at the score so far. Good, Elana thought. We're winning. She flew back towards the center of the Pitch, looking to see if any of her team-mates needed help.::

(correct me if i'm wrong about the score...)

(Gryffindor Beater)

"Now would be a great time to make a grand enterence WaterLily!" ::Amber mumbled hitting the bludger back toward Lily.::

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Man am i late Stephy thought to herself. Stephy mounted her broom and kicked hard off the ground quickly flying to her fellow chaser. "Lets win this game" Stephy called out to them.

Stephy looked down and saw the quaffle and decided to snatch it up before anyone else did.
She did a dive bomb and when she was about a few yards away from the ground she caught the quaffle and drew her broom stright so that it wouldnt crash into the ground.

"Here Lifey" Stephy called throwing the quaffle towards her and speeding to the other side of the pitch. On her way over she dodged a bludger but almost flew into another player. She quickly did a u turn to avoid the crash.

"Sorry" She yelled out.

(Commentator)

~Jesse hurried up to the commentator's box as he was late and he knew he had to recap what was up so he could comentate~

"Ahem...Sorry I'm late!" He announced loudly. "Alright then, Now that your devilishly handsome commentator is here...Let's get on with this game!"

~He listened to the roar of the crowd~ "That's right ladies and gentlemen, This game looks to be quite promising as we see that Ravenclaw is leading with 30 while Gryffindor is at 10 but we've got a good game so everyone fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the intensity!" He said loudly.~

"And we see that these players from each team are ready and as the game continues I'll be here to give you the plays! " He said as he got ready to continue commentating~

(RAVENCALW CHASER)
"Glade you could make it" Stephy yelled out to Fated.
Stephy waited forthe quaffle to be thrown to her so that she could make a goal.
"COME ON RAVIES WE CAN DO THIS" Stephy shouted

(Ravenclaw Beater)

As Jimmy noticed Lifey streaking towards the Gryffindor goal posts again, he swooped down beside him, grinning as Elana did the same on the other side.

THHHWWWAAAAACK!

He deflected a bludger back to where it came from, smiling wickedly as he noticed Amber nearly fall off her broom to avoid it before glaring at him.

"All's fair in love and Quidditch!" he shouted, hearing another thump from the other side of Lifey as Elana smashed another incoming bludger towards Amy. They were getting close now, and Jimmy noticed Stephy moving into the formation. "Lifey!" He shouted over, dipping as the chaser looked over, spotting his teammate. "Come on! Get it in!" He cried, as he maneuvered again to beat another bludger sent by Amber in another direction.

(OMG JIMMY! YOU KNOW ABOUT BEN FOLDS?! *is very very happy* All is fair...All is fair in love *sings* If you don't...and that was just a random thing you decided to write...I'm gonna be very disappointed XD)

(Ravenclaw Beater)

"Did you get my other letters, sometimes I think I outta call...." Elana sang softly. "'cuz you know I often wonder if you opened them at all...."

::Elana moved slightly below her team-mates, at the same time Jimmy moving a bit above to protect the two Chasers.::

::They were nearing the goal posts rapidly, and Elana whacked a Bludger at the Gryffindor Keeper, loving the satisfying CRACK of the bat hitting the Bludger. She watched it zoom towards the Keeper and, with that distraction, she hoped her Chasers would be able to score.::

(Gryffindor Beater)

::Amber watched as yet another bludger came her way. Letting out a string of curses she hit the bludger back toward stephy.::

"Where the heck is WaterLily!?!?!?!" ::she exclaimed.::

(Ravenclaw Beater)

::Elana flew in front of Stephy and the Bludger and whacked it away from Stephy and back towards Amby. She kept humming 'Fair' and went back below the Chasers.::

(Gryffindor beater)

"Thats it!" ::Amber exclaimed getting angry about having to do this all by herself. She whacked the bludger strait toward Lily with such force that she almost fell off her broom hitting the bludger.::

"Your Fav Chief Death Eater is back and ladies and gentleman we are seeing some action out on that field today!" ~he paused to sip his drink then continued~

"And it's stephy at the Gryffindor goal, all she needs is that quaffle to score. She's pumped and ready and as always our magnificient Head of Ravenclaw is right smack in the game. That's Lilyflower and she's one tough cookie! Ohhh and down the drive line we see jimmy and he whacks a bludger and...whoa it's up anddriving down the center field right towards amber of the Gryffindor team. She's going to feel that in the morning! But never the less, amber's not taking this lying down and as we've seen see can get pretty rough when she's pushed too far. And that's exactly what we want to see on the field! Jimmy's a new member on the Ravenclaw team and he's doing good for a rookie! Lifey's scored for this team many times in the past and let me tell you, in my experience of this game Ravenclaw is brutal! Ohh but Gryffindor's had it's share of feriocity too! So far Amy(duck) has scored and she did a brilliant job!

Ohhh we got some more action out on this field and there's Elana, the second beater of the Ravenclaw team. Though she's cute and innocent she's got a dangerous swing that will send a bludger at you faster than lightning. That's my little girl!

And as we focus back to the Gryffindor team we see that amber is pumped and ready to deliver some more punishment. She ought to be after that nasty blow she recieved from Jimmy. And she sends a bludger right at stephy. Ohhh there's Elana diving in for the save and she whacks the quaffle right back towards amber. Uh oh Amber's furious and she hit the bludger and...it...it's going towards LILY! Whoaaaaaaaa! This is one fired up game!"

(Ravenclaw Beater)

::Elana laughed, grinning as she heard her dad's commentary. All very true. Uh oh...angry Amby, Elana thought, flying back up and hitting the Bludger away from Lily. Wondering where her other team-mates were (their Keeper hadn't shown up that she had seen). Ah well, they were doing fine. She flew back down, looking around to see if any other Bludgers were coming their way.::

(gryff chaser)

::prinny rushed on to the pitch very sorry that she was so late. wanting to make up for the lost time she grabbed the quaffle and scored...straight past the ravens non-existent keeper. turning around to the team she said:: "sorry i'm late guys!"
