10 years later. Shadow and Jamies house.

Jamie ran down the stairs in a hurry, pulling on his sweater.
"hey..." he said to the person sitting on the stool in the kitchen...

Violet looked at the window and opened. "Sh, she is sleeping." Violet whispered.

Shaeman put his head inside the window, holding out the chain in his teeth. Hanging on the chain was a ring, a band of silver studded with a few diamonds and a moonstone, the surface of which was carved into the shape of a violet.

Violet grabbed the chain. "It's pretty." She said. "Whose it for?" She asked.

Shaeman nudged Violet with his nose.

"I cant have this." Violet said. "it looks like it was alot of money." She said.

Shaeman nudged her all the more determinedly.

Violet rolled her eye and smiled. "Fine." She said, putting the chain around her neck. "Happy?" She asked, petting his head.

Shaeman nodded, putting his hooves on the window ledge before morphing back into human form and climbing in.

Violet shut the window and walked over to the bed. "Five years old...doesnt seem that long. Seems like years." She whispered.

"It does." Shaeman said, standing next to Violet.

Violet looked around Saken's room. "She doesnt like me much." She said. "how are we going to tell Alyssa about why she is here?" Violet asked.

"You don't." Shaeman said.

Shadow walked into the room.
"How is she?" She asked quietly.

"We're not telling her?" Violet asked and looked at Shadow. "She is good...I think." Violet said, looking at her.

Shadow knelt beside the bed, putting two fingers on either side of her head. She looked up at Violet for permission.

Violet looked worried but nodded.

"I won't force her mind." Shadow promised before gently prodding the girl's mental defences. They crumbled as she did and Shadow cautiously entered her mind.

Violet looked at the chain again. "Where did you get this?" She asked in a whispered.

"I forged it myself, why?" Shaeman asked.

"Just wondering." She said, let it fall against her neck. Sighing, she walked over to the window.

Shadow came back from Allyssa's mind and sat back, rubbing her temples.

"What it is?" Violet asked her,

"I've been through her memory, and this is your daughter. When the Senate found her, they suppressed mer magic, leaving her a muggle." Shadow said.

Violet felt tears spring to her eyes. "She's...powerless. Nothing?" Violet asked. "Why the hell would they do that! That's not there daughter, she's my daughter!" Violet yelled.

Shaeman put an arm around her shoulders,
"Wait, there has to be something!"

Shadow sighed.
"There is. The way they suppressed it was crude, they placed a barrier around the part of her mind where the magic is stored. I can break it, but I'd rather not work with a child so young in that way."

"Raven knew. She knew it was my daughter." Violet said. "I'm going to kill her." Violet snarled, grabbing her jacket.

Shaeman held onto VIolet, knowing that Shadow was going to say something.
"Violet, Raven is so much more powerful. She has the army and the Senate backing her, there is no way you can win." Shadow said quietly. "Be thankful that the block isn't permanent."

"Let me go." Violet said, herking her arm from him. "I dont care, she knew it and she let it happen. Shows how much she cares for her neice when I was helping with Saken when your father was attacking us." Violet said.

"Violet!" Shadow snarled, her eyes flickering red.

"What?" Violet said.

"You will not seek a fight, you will stay here where you daughter needs you." Shadow snarled, her eyes remaining red.

Violet huffed and walked over to the bed. "Whats the use? She wont know who we are cause he said not to tell her." Violet said.

Shadow glared.
"Does it matter? You are her parents, you should be with her all the time!"
"Shadow, calm down..." Shaeman said softly. Shadow ran out of the room.

"I want to be with her." Violet whispered. "I want to kill Raven. She knew it." Violet said, starting to cry

Shaeman put his arms around Violet, trying to comfort her.
"Your daughter is the more pressing case. Raven can wait. She might just have been doing what she was ordered to do, you know what rules are like in that dimension."

"She still knew." Violet said. "I know she wouldnt have if it had been Saken." Violet said. "She created Saken, and I'm pretty sure you're not suppose to do that." Violet said, shaking

"I don't think the Senate know about Saken." Shaeman said, "Look, the block can be broken, but Shadow doesn't want to work with a child so young. She will get her magic back."

"But will she be the same!" Violet yelled, standing up. Grabbing his hand, she pulled the out of the room, into the hall and placed a charm on the door so Alyssa could sleep. "What do you think her first thought is going to be when she wakes? It sure as hell aint going to be mother and father but who are you and why arent I home!" Violet yelled. "And you think I should be calm?"

"Look, we'll have to explain the situation to her. If neccessary, we'll get Shadow to do a memory transfer." Shaeman said, trying to calm Violet down.

"No, what more magic on her? No!" Violet yelled. "She has no powers, she should be doing magic now, to let us know she will be going to Hogwarts!" Violet yelled.

"Look," Shaeman said gently, "Shadow will take out the block, just give her a bit of time. I'll go and talk to her if you want."

"No!" Violet said. "I cna just raise her myself. I know St. Mungos can do a great job with her, and not use magic that will cause her in trouble." Violet said.

Shaeman shook his head.
"it's not so simple Violet."

"Whats not simple? Huh? That you knew about our daughter and wasnt going to tell me? that becuase of you sister, my daughter cant do magic? What is it! Because everything seems to be simple with you." Vilet hissed

"VIOLET!" Shaeman thundered. "You have no idea who and what you're dealing with."

"Like you scare me." She sneered. "My father was right." She said.

"I am trying to scare no one! Without us, you are lost!" Shaeman said. He turned on his heel, striding down the stairs.

"Good cause you dont scare me.! I should have listen to my father, you were no good and to pathetic!" Violet yelled, tearing off the chain and throwing it down the stairs.

Shaeman strode outside and shouted out in demonic at the night sky. Shadow appeared next to him, looking upwards. She spoke softly in demonic.
Calm your troubled mind, listen to the messages from the stars.
But there are no answers, there are only problems.
If you listen well, if you truely believe, the answers will come.
I have failed Violet.
If you love her, and she loves you, then there is nothing you can fail.
But Allyssa...
It is Violet's decision. I am willing to remove the barrier,but at the age, it could prove fatal.

Violet punched the wall and walked down the stairs. Picking up the chan, she put it back on. "My father was wrong." She mumbled

Shadow strode back into the house and spotted Violet.
"How be the young one?"
