Holly and Natalie's study den

Natalie stood outside the portrait of the moaning moonstone witch with a forlorned expression on her face. She kept glancing at her watch. She was waiting on her friend Holly, one of her Gryffindor friends.

"Where is she?" Natalie exclaimed impatiently.

Shadow appeared in the shadows of the room and looked around.
"I seriously need to work on my teleportation." She muttered to herself. She spotted Natalie, and spoke a bit louder.
"Can you tell me where I am?"

Having just walked past the happenings, Holly heard Shadow speak.

"Umm hi, did you want to know where you were? Well this is the fourth floor, aaand um this is the moaning moonstone portrait," she turned to her Angel (Angel's were guardians in the shape of an animal) "We are on the fourth floor, right George? I havent been paying attention at all! My feet have just been taking me wherever!"

George the black spider-monkey sighed.

"Yes Holly," he said and rolled his eyes, "Sorry about her," he added to Shadow.

"Yeah, we are," said Natalie, greatful that Holly had finally arrived.

"Munkshood," she said to the portait, which swung open.

"Shall we go in?" she ask the girls.

"I'm in!" Holly said, and George nodded in agreement.
"Let's go, um, you want to come....Shadow is it?"

"Yeah, what do ya say, Shad?" Natalie asked.

"I'm kinda trying to get my teleportation back on track. When I appeared here, I was supposed to be in the dungeons..." Shadow replied.

"Oh, ok then.....good luck with your telaport-.....hang on, I though you couldn't apparate in Hogwarts grounds, or is it something to do with the fact that you're part demon?" said Natalie in a conversational tone.

"Teleportation isn't apparation." Shadow said.

"Ahh ok," said Natalie, "so is it only part-demons that can do it?"

"Part and whole demons, although there are certain spells that you can use." Shadow said.

"Cool," said Natalie, "but I think I'll wait until I learn to apparate."

"I can't get the hang of it, and since I could teleport, I gave up." Shadow said, smiling slightly.

"Maybe you couldn't get the hang of it because you can teleport....maybe it has something to do with the fact that your part-demon....and that might make it hard for you to apparate," said Natalie, shrugging.

"You never know." Shadow replied.

Natalie laughed.

"So, play any Quidditch lately?" asked Natalie.

"A bit." Shadow replied quietly.

"Oh....I'm auditioning for the Gryffindor team....chaser," said Natalie in an excited tone.

"Lucky you. I'm a Slytherin Beater." Shadow said, smiling.

"Yeah, I know...." said Natalie with a shiver, "but don't go easy on me in matches, because dodging is my middle name....actually, it's Lucy....but still."

"Well, I'd pity you against the Slytherin beaters anyway, we're pretty ruthless." Shadow warned.

"Ummmm Im sorry to break up the little Quidditch talk," Holly said, "But we kinda have some studying to do....and um, if you dont want to come then.....but it was nice meeting you!!! Maybe we can all hang some time?"
George nodded in agreement.

Jamie walked up the fourth corridor and spotted three of his friends, he walked up importantly, pretending to be posh for the amusment of the girls,

"hello ladies, why do i owe you the pleasure?" he bowed in an old fashioned way conguring a large top-hat

With raised eye brows Holly replied, "Hey Jamie, what's up?"

Shadow shook her head.
"Jamie, drop the act, or I might have to send you back to Erica." She said, smiling.

Hearing this, Holly used her catchphrase.
"Oooooooh told!" she said grinning, though she had no idea who Erica was.

Shadow sensed Holly's thoughts and began to bang her head off the wall.

"What? Why? What's going on?" Holly asked Shadow confused, "Are you alright?"

"I saw into your mind." Shadow said, apologetically, "I'm sorry." She rubbed the black charka gem on her forehead.

"You saw into my Mind" Holly asked incredulously, "How? That's sooo cool!"

"I'm..." Shadow didn't say it.

"You're.......," Holly encouraged, "It's okay, you can tell me....I think we count as mates now...dont we?"

"You might not..." Shadow said, unsure.

"I might not understand?" Holly guessed, just tossing fish.
She glanced at George, who's head was cocked to one side, as if trying to figure Shadow out. She seemed an interesting being.

"No, you might hate me, like so many others." Shadow said, bowing her head.

"Hate you? People hate you?" George asked, but he was soon sushed.
"I couldnt ever hate you Shadow, even if I tried. Im not that kind of a person," Holly said, and meant it.

"Ok... I'm part demon, that's why I could see into your mind." Shadow said quietly.

"Part demon....?"
Holly considered this for a moment.
"Part demon," she said again, as if testing it out, "That works for me. Friends?"
And she grinned, holding out her hand.

Shadow, slightly warily, took Holly's hand, shaking it.
"You do realise that I can kill you in a split second and not even mean to?" She asked, worried.

"Oh....well with friends, I take any risk," Holly said, as if it cleared up the matter, though she knew it didnt.
"So um, how did you become part demon?" George asked.
"If you dont mind us asking," Holly added.

"Father's a demon, mother's human... if you can call some one from another dimension human that is." Shadow explained.

"you are born part-demon, you know the same way i was" he ergued at Holly she seemed to have forgotton that they'd had the same conversation 2 years ago at the start of their first year

"oooh i see," Holly said, finally understanding, "Conversation in first year?? Hmmm,"
Holly thought for a moment until George whispered something in her ear.
"OH! Yes! I remember now. Sorry! So....um I shouldnt see why that should be a problem Shadow," Holly said, still slightly confused about the whole thing. But she let it slide.

"You'd be surprised..." Shadow said.

Jamie smiled at Shadow

"you would..." he confermed

Holly looked from one to the other, wandering if some sort of spell would suddenly be cast at her. It was the looks on her newly found friends faces.
"I would?"

"ofcourse you would, lets face it you know nothing about wandless magic do you?" he asked

( is lucy at the concert? god help her, i hope she is okay...... x])

"Not everything is as it seems." Shadow warned.

"Oh. Well. I am only first year," Holly said, thinking and then nodding, "....just realised you guys are all older than me....,"

(yup, im not sure if shes back yet though, she said i could go, but i had to go out, ill let you know when she rings lol!!! xx)

"Nothing wrong with a bit of an age difference. In my dimension, I'm over 100, but here, I'm just a normal teenager." Shadow said, smiling.
