masquerade ball

I pm'd elfie and asked and she said it was fine as it will get people into the spirit for the big masquerade event later on.

so here we are, a masquerade ball


::the great hall was decorated with a spectacular array of lights and tinsel as it awaited the arrival of the students in masks::

::She walked into the hall, mask on her face, wondering whether anyone would recognise her::

He smiled as they walked out onto the floor together. He looked back at Lifey and nodded. He felt kind of bad leaving the girl alone...stealing her frined and all, but soon he saw a few other girls join her...which made him feel quite a bit better. He looked back at Elana, his longish hair falling about his neck and messily over his black mask. He tucked one hand behind his back and bowed at the waist, smiling. "I can say that I'm glad that I decided to come." He placed one hand on her waist and took her other in his leather gloved hand and fell into step with the rest of the slow dancing crowd. Ooh...nice one Drake.

::Lifey smiled as she watched elana and her guy::

::She turned to her group of friends::

Whose up for a game?

(Ginny- Lol Elana gets all the guys, doesn't she?)

(In this I seem to, but it's funny, seeing that I'm one of the presidents of the DCotHE!)

"I can say that I'm glad that I decided to come."

::Elana shut her eyes for a moment, biting her lip as another blush crept up her face. This guy is too good, she found herself thinking as she opened her emerald eyes. He took her hand and placed his other on her waist.::

::Listening and swaying to the slow music, Elana smiled, looking up at this charming guy. Then a thought hit her, and she had to ask him something.::

"Why did you ask me to dance?" she asked, genuinely curious. "I don't mean to pry, it's just that usually I'm one of the girls left on the sides at dances, not one dancing with guys to many songs." She shrugged, hoping he didn't mind. "Maybe it's just my lucky night," she added, grinning.

::Lifey smiled, glad elana was having so much fun::

He smirkd and winked one crystal blue eye beneath his mask. "Because I found you rather intriguing even from my first sight of you." He dipped her back with a grin. "Besides...I'm the kind of guy who like to pluck the wall flowers and bring them to the floor."

~Jesse slowly walked back into the ball, having had his moment of fresh air outside. He strode across towards the area where a group of girls were gathered.~

"Hello ladies." He said with a slight smile. Then he glanced over to see Elana and a new fellow he'd not seen before. He watched them dance a moment then looked to the girls. "Well, looks like Elana has got herself quite a guy." He got himself a cup of punch and took a few sips.
"So, would any of you girls like to dance with me?" He asked looking around.~

::Lifey grinned as her brother came back into the room and helped herself to more punch::

I've given up on dancing :she grinned.:: there are no guys, but i have socks! ::she waved the pink socks around::

"Yes and I Knitted those socks for you." He replied proudly. He then put his punch cup down and took Lifey's and put it down too.~

"Come on," he took her hand and led her to the dance floor. Then he turned to face her. "I must dance with my sister just once." he insisted as he grinned.~

Fine a dance can't hurt.

::Lifey laughed and grinned also as they started to dance::

why dear brother how gentlemanly you are for a death eater. ::she said in a mock formal and prim and proper tone::

"Yes, dear sister I have gentlemanly moment. I'm not 100% evil..only 98.5% " He chuckled as they danced~

98.5%...99.99%....100% whats the difference? ::She grinned.::

Okay i admit you really aren't ALL evil....as such....define All and Evil... :: *pokes her brother*::

::She returned his grin happily, eyes shining from within the almond shaped holes in her white sequined mask, not believing what she was hearing.::

::Elana heard two familiar voices, and turning her head, saw Lifey dancing with the blonde boy in the black mask that she had danced with earlier. She smiled at Lifey, who for some reason unknown to Elana was dressed in jeans and a tank, hoping that her friend was having a good time.::

::One hand on the boy's shoulder, one hand held in his, her royal blue dress swishing on the floor around her feet (trapped in those horrid white heels that had caused so much trouble), Elana couldn't have been happier. Well, if she didn't have those shoes, and if she knew who the boy was, perhaps. I'll just have to wait for the unmasking, if there's going to be one.::

(yay!)

::Lifey realized that she was still in her jeans and top laughed at herself, pulledo out her wand, and restored her outfit to it's former teal glory, pearls, sparkles, mask and all.::

Shae snapped out of her trance that she was in for quite a long time, and walked gracefully over to where tailer was eating a banana at the refreshment table. She had to make sure that she wouldnt trip over her elegant black dress. When she approached tailer a large grin was spread across her face, Shae knew what she was thinking and laughed. what will i do wiht her?

He smiled as they glided about the floor. This was much better than brooding in the Gryffindor Common room like he had planned on doing for the evening. He kept his crystal blue eyes on her as they danced, the light swishing sounds of her dress about the only thing he was really hearing besides her voice. What a night...I wonder who she is... He smirked thoughtfully and glanced over her shoulder to see Liefy dancing with some guy. Good...he didn't feel so bad now! He then looked back to Elana and brought the hand from her waist to run through his hair (nervous habit) before he replaced it. "Having a good time?"

"Should I be?" she asked, raising an eyebrow and grinning. "Yes, as a matter of fact I am. How about you?"

"I don't know, should you?" He chuckled and took a glance about the Hall before looking back to her. "Good, I wouldn't want you to be having a bad time." He winked and slowed his dancing pace as the song ended. "Care for another dance? Or do you want to sit down for a bit?" Girls wore heels to dances...as he had noticed she was and he imagined she was probably rather uncomfortable.

::She thought for a moment, thinking of what she wanted to do. She definately wanted to spend more time with this guy, through another dance or anything.::

"I'm open to anything," she said, smiling.

"Well, as I can imagine, those heels are probably killing you. Why don't we go sit and chat for a bit?" He took his hand from her waist and adjusted his mask before, without letting her other hand go, heading off for a nearby table.

::Grimacing, she nodded.::

"They are," she said, walkking with him to the table. She sat down, sighing loudly as she looked down at those wretched heels. Deciding that as long as they still looked good that she would keep them on, she smiled, looking at the guy in the black mask.

He pulled out a chair for her before taking his own seat. "I thought as much." He smiled and sat down, pulling his black gloves back onto his rather sweaty hands...bloody hot in here...

::A tall young man with dark brow hair and glasses walked into the ball. He had on a dark colored mask and didn't know why he was there so he just smiled and bowed to the ladies that were present. He walked around unable to recognize anyone for they in turn were donning masks such as he, and he decided to quench his thirst at the refreshment bar::

(I don't know what I am doing and I am not sure who I am supposed to be. Jesse told me that guys were needed here and showed me where to post. )

(You did fine, shawn just cuz it's a forum doesn't make it different. And people will notice ya heh besides we need more guys on the site.))

~Jesse calmly looked to the refreshment table, spying a familiar looking person. Though the face of the guy was masked, he felt a strange familiarity.~

"Hey, what's up?" He asked in a friendly manner, adjusting his tophat as he approached the newcomer.~

(So I get to play as myself? Let me post a few times to try this out. It's not like the aol chats)

::When Shawn heard someone addressing him, he looked and saw someone in a top hat that greatly resembled Jesse::

"It is a nice place." Shawn said while he gathered some crackers in his hand and munched on them. "I like the decor, very medievalish."::

(Yes, in this rpg thread you play as yourself, but you have to be a canon char in the other rpgs. go sign up to be in the play too it's not too late)

~Jesse politely refused the snack. "Thanks dude but I'm not all that hungry. Well, do you want to come and mingle? There are some very lovely ladies here that might want to have your company."

~He then led Shawn through the crowd looking to find someone who would be interested in his friend's company.~

(Don't worry about not being noticed. There are many girls here wanting to dance....)

::Elana fanned herself with a hand, only realizing after she sat down how hot it was inside.::

"You wanna go outside? It's too hot to breathe in here."

::She looked towards the open doors that led to the Hall, and through those she could see that the doors of the main enterance were open also. Elana could see, just barely, some of her classmates standing in groups or walking off on their own.::

::Ginny looked over and saw that the black masked boy had a friend with him and smiled and waved at them both. She looked around and saw that Elana and her mystery man had gone outside, and the new girl and Skully where nowhere to be found. She sighed and used her wand to evanesco her now empty punch glass. Scanning the crowd, she saw no one of extreme interest, and since Nic was elsewhere she decided to go out onto the balcony.::

::It was as if she had stepped into another world out on the balcony. Little fairies were in the bushes, causing them to light up, and the view of the Lake was magical, with the full moon giving so much light it was as if it were day time. The red head sighed to herself::

"Now this I could get used to..."

::Lifey waltzed over to her brother, dress and all.::

"Finally convinced another guy to join?" ::She asked smiling:: "Bravo, i applaud you." ::She patted jesse on the back::

::She smiled held out her gloved hand out to his friend.::

"Life is 42, Lifey, Lifers, or as my dear brother here calls me, Lifesavers. Lovely to meet you and welcome to the H.E."

:Cookie glanced around the hall. There were so many colors, so many dancing people whirling around. Taking a deep breath, she stepped into the large room, picking her floor-length royal blue dress slightly off the floor in front of her. Adjusting her Mardi Gras-esque mask, she twirled one strand of curly blonde hair around her finger. Her hair had been put up in a sloppy but chic bun on the side of her head, with strands hanging around her face. Cookie looked around for anyone she knew:

"Smart one," she muttered to herself. "It would be hard to see anyone, as they're all wearing masks..."

:Looking around, she saw a small crowd of people at the punch table.:

Maybe I'll find someone to talk to there..., she thought.

:Picking up her dress's full skirt, Cookie started weaving her way towards the table.:

He ran a hand through his hair and nodded. "Good idea. It'll be much cooler outside." He took to his feet, coming back around the table to her. "Shall we then?" He offered her a hand, glacing out the open front doors.

:Cookie frowned, seeing the students at the refreshment table disperse onto the dance floor. Sighing, she poured herself some punch and sat at an empty table. Blue eyes scanning the room from under her white, feathery mask, she leaned back into her chair, taking a drink from her glass.:

I can wait, :she thought, eyeing some of the guys on the dance floor.

::Amber stood outside the hall, debating weither or not to go in. She looked down at her just above floor lenght lime green dress, and sighed. She readjusted her rather plain looking, but very bright, lime green mask. She groaned seriously thinking about leaving, but wouldn't allow herself to. She walked into the hall and let out a gasp. Everything was so beautiful. She looked around at everyone and slipped over to the punch table trying not to be noticed.::

"I picked the wrong color for that," She muttered as she walked over to the punch table.

::Cookie glanced over at the punch table, and almost had her eyes burned by the bright lime green of another girl's dress. Grinning, she stood up, and walked over to the table. Pouring herself another glass of punch and grabbing a cracker, she said:: "Nice dress!" to the girl. Cookie looked into the mask, trying to see who it was::

::Amber smiled. at the girl with cat ears.::

"How'd ya know?" she asked. "Oh and i do love the cat ears."

::She turned to the girl who had said 'nice dress'. She looked at the girls royal blue dress, and her white mask. She saw a strand of blonde curly hair.::

"Thanks," She smiled. "Wait a minute. Cookie?"

::Amber brushed a strand of her own dark brown curly, it had been curled for the ball, hair behind her ear.::

(i am joining the ball because i didnt know about it till now so here i am)

::Traci walked in making sure the doors made a sound. She looked great and she wanted everyone to see her. She was wearing a dark lavender tight top and a dark lavender flowing bottom. she was also wearing purple flip-flops. She had her dirty blond hair in brilant curls that took hours to do. the rest of her outfit went along with the purple butterfly mask she was wearing. She shrugged and looked around.::

"wow it's buetifull here"she said to herself. She saw a bright lime green dress by the punch bowl so being out of instict she walked over there. It looks like i have seen her before somewhere. Oh well.

"So how is the punch over here" she asked with a bright smile.

::Amber watched as the door opened.::

"Well isn't someone full of themself?" She muttered.

::She watched as the girl walked over towards them, and pulled on a smile. She wasn't really in the mood to talk to someone with that much ego that they had to make an enterance such as she did.::

"Its okay," Amber answered with a shrug.

(sorry twinny but you are full of yourself in that post )

::Cookie grinned at the new arrival. "Hey!" :Frowning, she took a closer look at what she could see of the girl's face.::

"Oh, hey Traci! Having fun?" Cookie asked, while looking out at the dance floor.::

::Amber turned to Traci. and laughed.::

"I should have known only you would make such a dramatic enterance." She said.

::She looked around.::

"Is it just me or are we lacking guys around here?"

:: Cookie laughed, using her hand to move strands of hair out of her face.::

"Its not just you, believe me," she said, still looking out on the dance floor. "We only have, like, three guys here. I guess I should have gotten here earlier... those guys look like they're not in the dancing mood."

::Cookie took a bite of a cracker, looking at what looked like the only two guys there. She sighed.::

::Amber sighed. She was not likeing the girl to guy ratio right now, it wasn't in anyones favor really.::

"Well Cookie, look at it this way even if they wanted to dance, with only about 3 of them and the rest of us being girls, do you really think that everyone would be able to dance?" She asked

::Cookie laughed:: "Probably not," she admitted. "But it *is* fun just dancing with your friends or dancing solo."

::To show what she meant, Cookie started doing all the dance moves she knew to the current song, Let's Get it Started, by the American group, the Black Eyed Peas.::

"Come on!" She said, laughing because she knew she looked ridiculous. "Join in!"

::Amber laughed.::

"hey I love this song!" she said.

::She jumped into the crowd of people with Cookie and started dancing like an idiot.::

::Traci joined right in with the dancing she was determined to have fun, even if she did look like an idiot doing it,::

"So how did ya guess it was me. I thought the ego would throw ya'll off" she smiled it was fun to act like she had an ego. her heart is still beting fast from the entrance. She started to do the spinkler laughing histarically at herself. :lol!:

"Shall we then?"

::She nodded, smiling, and took his hand. As they walked to the doors, she looked around and saw that some of her friends were on the dance floor. Glad that they were having a good time, Elana didn't feel as bad about leaving them.::

::With her first step outside, she could feel the drastic change in temperature. She breathed in deeply, loving the feel of the cool air on her skin.::

::What did I do to deserve this fantastic night? she thought. 'The only sure thing about luck is that it will change.' she thought, remembering a fortune that had come out of a fortune cookie she had had before coming to school this year. And I guess mine has.::

He smiled as they walked out the doors into the cool evening air. What a reliefe. He took in a deep breath and closed his eyes. "Wonderful night." He looked over at her, adjusting his mask with his free hand. It certainly had proven to be a nice evening so far...good thing he decided to come put of his hole in the Gryffindor Common Room afterall.

"Wonderful night."

::She nodded, agreeing completely. If only we knew who the other was, then it would be so much easier to talk! Or harder, she thought, since then we would know and maybe we wouldn't like who the other person turned out to be and then what would happen?!::

::Elana smiled, looking up at him. Surely someone as charming as he was couldn't turn out to be some horrid person.::

::She gasped, looking up at the sky. A shooting star. This is the first one I've seen since leaving home.::

"Make a wish," she said softly, gazing into the heavens and following the firey trail that it left. She closed her eyes and made her wish. I wish that when I wake up in the morning all of this isn't a dream. But it's much too perfect to be happening to me.::

::Kitty smiled and giggled at her friends that recognized her and then walked around admiring the decorations around the Great Hall.::
