END OF TERM BALL

June pouted at her friends. "But he doesn't want me to leave!!!" she cried. "Do you?" she asked, turning to a dazed Viktor Krum.

Dani laughed at Rachels awnser, "If she doesn't let you have any come and find me," she whispered in her ear.

Dani looked at the Frozen Mosh Pit, "Etta-Alice!" She said mustering up her best motherly voice. "Did you freeze all those party-goers?!"

Justin is mightily confused between all of this talk about McSteamy and McDreamy and the gossippy talk of ladies. Eating the last bit of proscuito on his plate and finishing his spiked punch, he hears the music change back to country.

He hears a slow song begin to play from the Head Table, one of his personal favorites, with the angelic voice of Alison Kraus belting out one of her earliest hits.

It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart

Justin stands up and looks to Ame. "Er, would you like to dance?"

::Dani looked between Ame and Justin and sighed all and any guys seemed to have no intrest in her at all. She looked at Ginny who was now perocupied with the table cloth and guessed she was one of those involved in the freezing charm, she smiled and looked at Etta who had her eyes on Mcsteamy or Mcdreamy or whatever. Dani slid her bottle of firewhisky over to Rachel and mouthed. 'Try it"

Looking around she saw that most people were dancing with each other. Shrugging, she picked up a drink.

"Good to hear that", Justin blushes a bit himself, surprised that he asked that bruntly.

Thinking it must be the spiked punch that gave him this much bravery, he didn't know what to thank for his ability to not step on Ame's toes through the dance, as he normally does.

"This party isn't nearly as bad as I thought it'd be. I should go let all the guys know, who are waiting behind the doors, to come give it a try. I'm a bit lonely here by myself. Er, I mean me being the only guy and all."

June sighed. She patted Viktor on the shoulder. "Bye Viktor," she said. "Gotta go!" Smiling sweetly at him, she kissed him one more time before waltzing away. June smirked when she saw Ame and Justin dancing together.... and her eyes lit up when she saw Nancy. "Nancy!!!!!!!!" June squealed. "It's wonderful to see you!!!" She ran to her friend. "And I LOVE your dress!"

Amist all the drinking and snogging from everyone around her, Jenn slowly tugged McSteamy away from the crazed mess. Smiling up at him, her heart did a funny little flutter as he looked down at her with those stormy bedroom eyes and winked, giving her that oh so famous McSteamy look. As she bent her head slightly, her fingers toyed with the side of her gown for a moment and she contemplated what to do next 'Oh, what the heck, She thought to herself, 'I'm going to summon him back tonight anyways. And I'll be sure to modify his memory so he won't remember tonight.' Slowly moving her hand, she lightly grasped McSteamy's arm and slowly let it slid down to his hand. Jenn smiled as she felt him give her hand a light squeeze.

"So, how do you like the ball?" She asked as she bent her head to look up at him. "I'm sorry for dragging you away from whatever you were doing."

McSteamy gave her a half smile. "It's fine, I did have a Grammy party I was supposed to attended but now that I'm here, I might as well have a good time. The company here seems, really...interesting." He replied with a long gaze at Jenn. Shifting his weight a bit, he waved his other hand in disinterest. "After all, if I had to go back now I'd make sure to bring you with me." He said with a slow wink in her direction.

Jenn flushed a bit at the look in his eyes and laughed. 'Perhaps tommorrow morning would be a better time to send him back.' Jenn thought to herself with an inwardly sigh. Her vision drifted away to see Nancy enter the ball in a stunning black gown that accentuated her curves. "Thanks Nancy! And you look wonderful as usual."

After being dragged against her will on the dance floor, Marie found that she was enjoying it more than she'd have thought. However, after a while of dancing, she decided to take a break.

"I'll go and sit or something for a while," she told the girls, heading to the refreshment table again and grabbing a cup of what seemed like fruit punch. She was pretty sure someone had made it its job to spike it, or would at some point, but she shrugged and took a sip anyway. She looked around for a chair, bench, anything, and walked to it when she saw one, sitting down with a small sigh of relief.

She looked around, noticing the Hall was much more filled than it had been earlier as many students had entered the place. She decided she would go and talk to some of them later on, right now she was happy with sitting.

Marie heard her name being called and turned to see Ame. Smiling, she waved at the girl before a look of confusion appeared on her face.

"Mosh pit?" she repeated. What the heck did I miss now...

"Oh, you're welcome.", Justin replied once the song had finished and the old fun dance songs came on. "Yeah, I don't dig the formal wear." He loosens his tie a bit to breath.

He sees Marie sitting at the table and waves to her as Ame goes running towards her.

"Hm," Justin thought to himself, "maybe I'll go try to get a few more people to join us... the more the merrier, after all." as he headed towards the door of the Great Hall.

Nancy smiled and gave June a hug when she came over to her. "Viktor Krum? You were dancing with Krum..." She whispered in an awed tone. "He's quite handsome." She giggled towards June and then looked at her dress. "You look wonderful!"

Nancy then looked to her left and saw Ame dancing with Justin. Nancy waved to her and blew her a kiss. "Hey Ame, Justin," she said pleasantly.

She looked to her right now and saw Jenn who was dancing with quite the handsome gentleman. Jenn was always able to land the ones who were quite good looking. "Thanks Jenn. I am just waiting for my date to arrive." She looked to both Jenna dn June. "I think you might have met him?"

She then spotted Marie and Nancy's eyes lit up. "Marie! My partner in crime!"

"Thanks," June replied. Suddenly, June looked around at Nancy's exclamation. "Marie? Where?

MARIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Grinning, June waved to her friend.

Marie grinned at Ginny. "Pretty much," she said, laughing as her fellow Hufflepuff stumbled. "Are you drunk already?" she said teasingly.

She smiled and waved back at Justin before hearing her name being called again, this time by Nancy. She grinned and waved at her. "Hey Nancy," she called. She would go and see her later, at the moment sitting felt like the only thing she could do.

Anthony adjusted his bow tie making sure it was straight and even as he looked himself over in the mirror one last time. The Ball had already started so he hurriedly through on his tux and adjusted it where it was necessary. Satisfied with the way it looked he made his way out of the dorm and headed down towards the Great Hall. As he approached the massive door that would lead him into the giant room, he could hear the faint sound of music muffled by the closed doors. Placing his hands on the handles Anthony pushed them open and the waves of music and chattering students crashed upon his ears. The room was magnificently decorated, and those who were there looked to be enjoying the grand occasion.

His green eyes scanned around, looking to see if he recognized anyone. He saw a few that he knew and he gave a firm nod to them in recognition. Making his way over towards the refreshment table Anthony quirked an eyebrow as he watched a few of his friends do a line dance. He also noticed some firewhiskey being passed around, and naturally thats where he headed. A grin running the length of his lips he would pour himself some punch and stood there awaiting the arrival of his date.

"Anthony!!!" June cried. Here was yet another of her friends. She walked towards him, albeit a little unsteadily.

Dani looked around and realized she was a bit under dressed she sighed and walked into a nearby bathroom where she pulled out her wand and transfigured her jeans and tee into a nice blueish-white dress she smiled and ajusted her head band in the mirror, the turned and headed back out onto the dance floor.

She looked over at Anthony, he looked good, really good. In his tux. She took a deep breath, she'd always liked Anthony, before making her way over to her table again.

Amber looked around, amazed at how quickly things had happened and she'd been left alone. She shrugged as she headed back over to the punch table, taking another glassful, looking around as she sipped it. This was crazy, and oddly it was fine with her.

Dani grabbed a couple bottles of Firewhisky as she past the refreshment table and took a large swallow of one of them and tucked the other under her arm. Just because she was now dressed like a princess didn't mean she had to act like one.

She saw Amby and waved at her friend, and sat down alone at one of the tables.

Marie laughed and shook her head lightly at Ginny, taking another sip of her punch. Yep, there was definitely something in that...

She watched as more people entered the Hall, leaning back in her chair and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

After fixing his hair and clothes for the hundredth time, Matt finally looked into the mirror and shrugged his shoulders. "It's the best I could do," he said to himself. Her ran a hand through his darkened hair. He was quite nervous. He had been trying to catch Nancy's eye for quite sometime now and was completely happy she agreed to come with him, but he was a bit nervous he was going to do something stupid to mess it up. He had done that before. He took another deep sigh and then made his way down to the ground level of the school and walked into the great hall.

Dark brown eyes searched the room carefully, looking for anyone that he knew. The only ones were Anthony, Nancy and a few he had spoken with in the chatbox. As these thoughts were going through his head he spotted Anthony and gave his a dashing smile. "Evening," he spoke to him in his low voice. "Love the suit. I was wondering if you happened to see...." And then his breath caught in his throat as out of the corner of his eye he spotted Nancy, standing there with a group of girls wearing a stunning black dress. "Excuse me for a moment," he said to Anthony and quickly made his way over to Nancy.

He took her by the left hand and raised it to his face and planted the most gentle of kisses upon her soft skin. "You are the most beautiful thing I have ever, in my twenty three years of existence seen." He smiled shyly at her, afraid of saying too much or not enough. She was a hard one to get close to but he would not yield until he either had her attentions or she told him once and for all to leave her alone.

Matt was here too! June grinned and walked over to Nancy to tell her. But because of her firewhisky-ed state, Matt got there first. "Matt's here," she said rather belated.

Caro danced her way through the dancing crowd, waving her bottle of rum in the air as she rudely pushed first years out of her way. When she finally reach on the other side, she saw Marie, her precious Mawmaw, in front of her. Suspiciously, she reached for Mawmaw, and poked her two times.

"You're real, aren't ya?" she asked, a small hiccup escaping her mouth. "Mawmaw, if you're real that is, I LOVE YOOOOOOOOU!!!!!!!" Caro slurred and threw her arms around Mawmaw.

As Anthony stood there, his punch in hand heard his name shouted out. Turning his attention to where it came from he saw had been his friend June who called out to him. With a smile he greeted her as she walked over towards his direction a little unsteady. Was it too much firewhiskey? He wasn't sure and had to stifle the laugh that threatened to escape. "How are you this evening June?" He would ask as he took another sip of his punch, draining the last bit of the liquid as he did so. "You look stunning." He complimented her dress, in fact everyone looked great as he scanned around taking in the scene.

Noticing Rachel pass by with a wave, he raised his glass to her in return. The night was just beginning so he had plenty of time to enjoy the company of his friends. Turning for just a moment to pour himself some more punch Anthony turned his head to the side and spoke over his shoulder, "So June, enjoying yourself thus far?"

"Oh dear..." Marie mumbled to herself as Caro made her way to her. That one was obviously drunk.

She giggled and hugged Cawwie back, patting her back. "Yep, I'm as real as can be," she said. "How many rum have you had?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

June smiled at Anthony. "Yep," she said grinning. "I think I had something firewhisky thingie... I'm fine, though a little dizzy." She giggled. "Thanks Anthony... you look very handsome."

Ramiela glanced around the now more crowded Great Hall as she sat at the table, still sipping at her drink. She jiggled her foot in time to the music and gazed out at the dance floor

She wasn't much of a dancer, she'd much rather stay out of the spotlight and talk amongst her peers.

Standing from her seat, she walked over to the refreshment table to refill her cup. She smiled shyly at a few people who were gathered there.

"This issssss... a bottle!" Caro said and nodded with a grin. "But it is only the... fifth one, which is such a random number, so I need a... sixth one!!!" she said and giggled while sitting down - or so she thought, but missed the chair and fell on the floor, laughing loudly.

He would smile as he conversed with June, she had obviously drank a bit before he had arrived. Upon hearing her compliment he would bow in thanks, "Thank you mi'lady, took me all of ten minutes to get ready." He laughed as he spoke. He then noticed his friend Matt had found the lady he had been searching for. His smile widened, he wondered how him and Nancy would fair this evening, she was sure to be a tough one, not easily wooed, but he had confidence his buddy would be able to pull it off. He was quickly becoming sick of the punch so he drained what he had and sat his cup down onto the table. "So tell me June, where is this firewhiskey at? I could go for some right about now."

Marie shook her head lightly as she helped Cawwie sit on a chair, chuckling lightly at her.

"Well you keep it all inside alright?" she said.

Her eyes drifted towards the center of the room as she saw Matt approach. She smiled as he took her hand and raised it to kiss it softly and then blushed at his compliment. "Only twenty three years eh? And here I thought my beauty was timeless. You look great yourself." Then flashed him a mischievious smile. She stood there for a few moments gazing up at him and then moved to take another sip off of her goblet of Elven Meade.

"I'm glad you could make it. You should feel quite privialiged that I agreed to come with you. After all, I have been trying to chase you off for ages." She gave him a sly smile and then took him by the hand and lead him over to where Anthony, Ginny and June were.

"Umm...." She looked around. "Over there." June pointed behind her. "But I think there's some at each table. June waved her wand at herself. "Siccus," she muttered. The sobering charm worked perfectly and she groaned. "Oh... my... god..." she whispered. "I KISSED VIKTOR KRUM!!!" June wanted to die of shock and embarrasment. "Umm..." she coughed. "Sorry about that outburst.... I think I was drunk..."

Standing near the refreshment table, Ingrid saw that Ramiela was standing by it. Walking towards she asked, "Hello, are you enjoying the party?"

Ramiela turned around and smiled.

"Oh hi, yeah. It's fun." she replied, playing with the cup in her hands. "Um..I'm Ramiela! Did you just get here?"

"Hi, I'm Ingrid" she replied "I've been around the refreshement table all night, I'm not really a dancer"

Caro lift her head excitedly, dashing off - but not before giving Mawmaw a peck ont he cheek - towards Nancy, seeing that she was leading a dude towards the others. Once again, she pushed other students rudely out of her way, not caring about if they got hurt or not, and when she finally reached her goal, she grinned widely and waved.

"Helloooooo, my dearies!" she said excitedly. "And what do we have here, huh? Two lovebiiiiiiiirds?" she cooed and winked to Nancy and Matt. "The Matt!" Caro said and waved to him. "Nice to meet ya!"

"JUNE!!!!!!!!" Caro suddenly went and tacklehuggled the girl. "I didn't have the time to greet you properly earlier, too busy with the band!" she explained.

"Yeah, me neither." Ramiela admitted. "I can't dance if my life depended on it."
