END OF TERM BALL

"Cool, are ya having fun?" Chris asked. "I am having so much fun."

After Ame had gone dancing, Marie left the refreshment table and started walking around the room, trying to see someone she knew as she drank her firewhiskey. She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear as her eyes fell on Jake, who seemed rather lonely, and she made her way over to him, mentally cursing her stupid shoes. Why did she wear heels when she knew they made her feet hurt so bad?

"Having fun all by yourself?" she asked in a teasing matter as she got to Jake, nudging his side with her elbow.

"Yeah." Chris said. "I wonder if anyone is going to use some magic."

Chris pulled out his wand, "Want to make some lights?"

Chris pointed his wand at the ceiling. He waved it and the colors of each House were displayed in the air.

"Yeah, just perfect." Chris said.

Jake blinked as he felt the elbow nudge his side and looked over at her tilting his head. He could have frowned but she wasn't pestering him. "good evening miss." he simply said in his quiet yet powerful voice before looking out along the dark night sky. "A lovely night... is it not?" he whispered near silently this time.

She nodded, taking a sip from her drink and adjusting her dress slightly, playing with the frabric.

"Sure is," she said, tilting her head slightly.

Cat awed at the lights Oddie and Chris made. "They are so pretty."

Cat heard Oddie mention Chris should make them into the shape of the house animals. Cat nodded and looked at Chris, "You should. That'd be awesome."

"Er," Justin looks up from the book he's reading as he heard his name. "One moment, if you would...", he replies as he finishes the page and a half left in the chapter.

"Phew, okay." Justin jumps up and makes the book disappear. He looks around, noticing the nice magical decor added since he had slipped into the Inkworld. "Yes, I'm Jusitn," he replies as he focuses in on Elana.

"You're the Head Girl, right? And on the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team... Elana, isn't it? Oh yes, and it is a great series."

June's ears perked up at the sound of books. She turned around and looked for the source of the conversation. She waltzed over to Elana and Justin. "What series?" June asked. She loved to read... although she wasn't in Ravenclaw.

Justin turns to June and shows her his copy of Cornelia Funke's Inkspell, with a bookmark sticking out of the top of it.

"The Inkworld series. It's rather good, actually. Have you ever read it?"

June smiled. "Yes!" she cried. "I love that series!" She then added, "Actually, I like practically all the series I read" June laughed.

"It's pretty good so far," as he turns back to Elana and speaks to both of them. "Are you two excited about the movie coming out soon?"

June blinked. "Movie?" she asked. "What movie? They're making a movie?!"

"Yep. It's due out in March of 2008. Brendan Frasier, from George of the Jungle, is Mo. Eliza Bennett, Tora from Nanny McPhee, is Meggie. Paul Bettany, from Wimbledon and The Da Vinci Code, is going to be Dustfinger. Andy Serkis, Gollum from Lord of the Rings, is going to be Capricorn. Helen Mirren, from The Queen, will be Elinor.", Justin catches his breath after rattling on and on for a few minutes.

He then looks to June, "Haven't you heard about it before?"

She shook her head. "No," June replied, "I haven't, surprisingly."

June smiled and turned. "Hey Polly, hey Ame!" Nodding at the Ravenclaw girl, June replied, "I'm doing great!"

"Ok." Chris said. He waved his wand and the colors made the shape of the House animals.

"It looks great now." Chris said as he looked at the animals that he had created with the colors. "Don't you think?" He asked the girls.

"Good idea." Chris said. He waved his wand again and the animals started to walk around the room.

"Sure." Chris said. "I can have another."

Chris then poured some butterbeer into his cup. "I can't believe Slytherin is ahead in House points." HE said.

"Yeah.' Chris said. He took a big gulp of his butterbeer. "I can't wait to sign up for the Duelling Tournament and I am almost a Fourt Year."

"I hope." Chris continued. "And I can't wait till I can't start to train to be an animagus."

Chris finished up his drink. He did the same as Steph. "Well, I don't know if I will finish up before duelling starts. I might finnish when I am half way through.'

"I do." Chris said. "I am trying though, really hard."

June drank some butterbeer as Elana and Justin chatted. When Elana posed her question, June answered, "I'm having a GREAT time! This ball is a lot funner than I expected it to be. How're you enjoying it?"

"I am." Chris said. "I am on the first one. I got stuck on some parts."
